Seems like Uli would escape jailtime (not that anyone expected him to go there anyway) there's the likelihood of a two-year probation/parole tho

BTW who is this Julian Green ninja? I've seen a few pre-season vids and he's looked pretty tidy! Still raw but the potential is decent

dayokanu: Abi o.

Barcelona said the release clause is 18m, Bayern paid it simple we even added jara on top sef.

Una no want we want, if he fails its bayerns loss not yours
A more objective fan would be proffering solutions with the windfall received on how to improve his team. I wonder what he would say if a Santos fan came here moaning about how he wished "Neymar fails because he chose Barca instead of Madrid"

Johnpaul88: At Bayern? he'll not be successful. But at a club like United? He'll be very successful.
At Bayern, he'll meet exactly what he's trying avoid in Barca, then he'll be back to square one.
Why are you so mad that he opted for Bayern? Does 7-0 have anything to do with it? You set release clause we match am so why the hard feelings?

debosky: You can use any logic you want - just don't be comparing Bayern's ball boys with players who have bossed games they can't even dream about featuring in.
How do you boss a game where you were outpossessed and outgunned?? Go and revisit what it means to boss something
Like Ramsey would get a game at Bayern! Lmao

Johnpaul88: My views stand, no matter what y' all say.

I blame not the club but Thiago who didn't play well enough to deserve more playing time and who on top of that is cocky.
I agree with you that he is a tad cocky but na una hype am reach that stage in the first place! Blaming Thiago however doesn't make any sense as he is entitled to seek first team football wherever he pleases (debatable yes but its his right anyway) you need to realize Barcelona is not the alpha and omega of football! Players would leave your team and they will win titles

occam: Are you referring to the Lakers? The Lakers will never tank; not in their DNA. Luxury tax means nothing to the Lakers. The second prime suspect is Mavericks. Yes Celtics & Mavericks are definitely in tanking mode.
Its not about them not wanting to tank its about them not having a choice! Gasol is on the downturn so is Nash more or less. Kobe won't be back till November at the earliest maybe later its not looking good for the Lakeshow
As for the Mavs I don't think they are in tankmode! You don't spend 15 million dollars to upgrade your back-court if you are not at least trying to win

occam: A shame Celtics have not learnt from the past. Pierce almost bolted town before Garnet & Allen joined him Ripping out the heart of your entire team (the core of your identity) for salary cap flexibility and draft picks is a huge gamble. Theirs no guarantee a top draft becomes a star
Naa the Celtics didn't have much choice! Allen bolted! Pierce well he wasn't exactly ready to take a paycut same as KG
Doc was obviously not willing to rebuild so really their hands were tied. A draft pick and cap flexibility may not guarantee success but hanging on to old ninjas like Pierce and KG wouldn't either
The key is not losing Rondo IMO

occam: The Nets may even ride on the back of these aging stars to the conference finals and give Miami fits (or even win). Spend to win now or Build to maybe win later We'll see which philosophy prevails
KG would be 39 next year
Paul Pierce would be 36 or 37
JET would be 37 next year

Those niggas too old

Better how? Remember - Rambo was a member of the midfield that shyte all over Kroos and co at the Allianz. Those nonames you mentioned didn't even make the bench.
Shyte? Loool well no be your fault na ninjas like Robben I blame
21 shots vs 5 and you claim yall shyted on our midfield? I can also say Wayne Routledge shyted on your midfield when Swansea came to defecate at the Emirates I guess using that logic he could also start at Arsenal

Hahahahaha why couldn't you guys just get Wilfried Bony (he went to Swansea for 12m) or some medium priced striker. All dem Higuain,Suarez no dey Arsenal level na

debosky: Better than who? Even Eisfeld and Kris Olsson are better than them. We don't need more young midfielders - ask Chelski - they seem to be more interested in stockpiling them. cheesy
Kris Olsson ko Kris Oyakhilome ni. Those guys are better than Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey already

occam: The C's can tank this season and pray the ping pong God answers their prayer. I hear the 2014 draft is pretty deep with talent.
Or pray Humps, Brooks & Rondo become the new big 3

In any case, only divine intervention can save this franchise
Its ironic that two of the winningest franchises in history are contemplating going on full tank mode well at least one of them is. There is plenty talk about the 2014 draft class being the best since 03 with Andrew Wiggins touted as the next once in a generation player
I won't be suprised if the C's are already looking for who to dump Humphries and Gerald Wallace's contract on problem is without Rondo to sweeten the pot I don't think anyone would even listen to them

AjanleKoko: Dem for even try collect one ageing defender off Bayern's hands.
Now they will take the 25m and go buy some midfielder embarassed
It seems you guys are doing some form of yard sale! First Villa now Alcantara! Something is definitely wrong in this Rosell era I'm sure the potshots he took at Pep also had a hand in fast tracking this deal
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 1:48pm On Jul 15, 2013
nateevs: Mate there is a clear difference between what Bayern are doing now and what Barca were/are. Barca's reign was based largely on their style. In terms of personal Iniesta, Xavi and Messi were very pivotal to Barca's success.
Barca have been really fortunate with the tribeca! Apart from Iniesta who misses games from time to time the others are more or less men of steel

nateevs: Bayern are taking the pivot of success off the hands (or legs as is the case here) of any single or few players. They have talent in depth and are totally fearsome front to back. With Lewandowski largely rumoured to be joining them, they boast of all the rudiments of a successful team - pace, power, finesse, good defense and goals. Plus they are doing what we failed to do over the years - building when on top.
I think the problem if we can call it that with Chelsea is the managerial and one man ownership thingy but you guys have managed to make it work still by winning trophies regardless. You guys have shown that you don't necessarily need stability to win
Not everyone can do it the Bayern way plus sacrifices would most likely be made on the individual awards level but in the end its the clash of philosophies that makes football such a thrill

nateevs: Unless Pep totally fkucs things up.
Pep is condemned to succeed really he has no excuses
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 1:03pm On Jul 15, 2013
debosky: That's what I think as well - journos just make up things as they go and desperate fans lap it up as fact.

As for Bayern, there will definitely be departures - if not now, in January/next summer to cater for the arrival of Goetze and Thiago.
Its silly season for a reason! There would always be some crazy speculation such as: Arsenal bidding 30 million pounds for Suarez grin grin

Actually we have some young boys that need to go on loan for some gametime. Are y'all interested? Emre Can and Pierre Hojbjerg are improvements over what you have in your midfield plus Gotze and Thiago have more or less come in for Tymoschuk and Mario Gomez then there's Pizarro going next summer as well its really not that complicated if Pep's selection is performance based and not just according to his preferences!

dayokanu: It's really amazing we were able to get a young, ascending, potential world player of the year type talent from none other than Barcelona, for 20m.

It's quite a bargain for a player like Thiago.

So far it's been
IN:
Gotze
Thiago

OUT:
Gomez
Tymo

I may see someone else leaving, possibly on loan. I'd like to see Can, Hojbjerg, and maybe someone else go out on loan. We should send these young players to places they could play for sure, a 2nd-tier club like Freiburg, Hoffenheim, BVB, ManU, etc and some to 4th tier teams like Livorno, Arsenal, Greuther Furth, Hercules
I think it would be beneficial for guys like Can and Hojbjerg to go on loan. Especially Hojbjerg who is only 18 I'm sure they would eventually get loan deals which would be good for their development and should they perform it would be easy to bring them back just like it happened with Toni Kroos

Now as for Thiago I've said a few times that I really hope he is an improvement on what we have and would not just wind up a teacher's pet! Barring injuries getting him can most likely disrupt our formation in certain games and I'm not really in support of playing Martinez at CB! He and Schweini shield our back 4 far too well so he has a lot to prove! Its on Pep tho he's been granted his wishes so he is condemned to perform
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 12:28am On Jul 15, 2013
dayokanu: We simply bitchslapped Man Utd to Thiago.
It was even small money 20m for a player like Thiago is a steal. If Barca had managed him well his buyout clause would have been 90m.
I'm really really suprised Man U didn't go all out for him! Maybe he was simply not a David Moyes type of player which would be suprising as guys like Pienaar,Fellaini possess a bit of flair

Barca have been dropping the managerial ball lately! First Villa for a mere pittance and now this

dayokanu: Thiago we bought for 20m can go for 35 in a few months. Illaramendi just sold for 38m Its because Man Utd is no longer seen as a top destination, Gone were the days players dreamt of playing for Ferguson, Now who would want to play for David mudafucking Moyes?? Thats why I thought the Moyes signing was faulty.
I don't think Man U even put together a bid for him so its not a situation where he snubbed them or anything like that. All this talk of Bale and Ronaldo is rather laughable when they can't launch a bid for Thiago who is younger and cheaper and addresses their most pressing need

dayokanu: Kroos has always been an effective possesion weapon many people underrate and I think he is better than many players of his age
Kroos is one of the finest midfielders in Europe! Its not even up for debate his technique, vision, passing range and playmaking abilities is top notch plus he is only 23 which means he hasn't even reached his ceiling yet! I hope Thiago does not think he is guaranteed a first team shirt! Its the European Champions he is coming to not just any club

afrodoc: that list is a tough one to rank i accept.i wont rily argue either way this is one of the best crops of young midfielders football has been blessed with BUT i think Gotze and Thiago are the best of the lot.
for thiago u cant bar favoritism cos we r all human and remember that promises have already been made concerning his chances of making next year's world cup
That is actually my biggest worry! That Thiago gets there by favoritism! Gotze is an upgrade on Kroos but I don't think the rest are bar Gundogan as neither of them have proven themselves consistently for the last 2-3 seasons
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 11:13pm On Jul 14, 2013
What's happening with Utd tho? I remember when most of us had more or less assumed Thiago was Old Trafford bound. Its either Moyes is ok with the present squad or there isn't that much money to spend

afrodoc: LOL i knew u would rate Wilshere last.
i would say Gotze,Thiago,Oscar,Isco,Wilshere,Gundogan and Kroos.
Kroos last cos i believe his progress will slow down at Bayern now wit all d competition for places.
Gundogan and Wilshere r quite similar but one is a bit more dynamic than d other.
Gundogan,Isco,Thiago and Wilshere over Kroos?? That's a pretty curious choice I don't think any of these ninjas are as good as Kroos. Barring favoritism I don't think Thiago is a walk-on to that team but let's see how it goes

Though there's a lil hope in Humphries and Brooks, my money ain't on any to shoulder the team. I still see Rondo buying out his contract

Wow, j.Terry, KG and Paul Pierce all in one deal. Some people will doubt their plays due to age but it's Nets closest to a championship.

And Mavs, Calderon with Ellis in backcourt, nowitzki forward.
I can't for the next season jor
I'm very iffy on Ellis mayne! Coach Carlisle has plenty work to do with that backcourt that would most likely play zero defence!! Ellis isn't an efficient scorer I saw his FG percentage and 3pt shooting last season and I wept 41% and 28% respectively! Plus Golden State started winning the minute he left town though to be fair to him that team was weak! Not that his shot selection made them stronger. The only bright spot is Dirk getting some decent help
I hope the Mavs can land Omer Asik at center since he wants out of the Rockets he seems a pretty good defender

but teams have done with far less renowned names - or you want to tell me the bulk of the Bayern/Dortmund superstars of today were big-name players four, five years ago!!?
But most guys in Bayern and Dortmund's midfield are about same age with Utd's present lineup bar Schweinsteiger and then there's Carrick who isn't exactly growing younger but I see your point. Your midfield is in dire need of an upgrade tho! The warning signs were there since the Barca annhilation but Fergie ignored that loophole maybe because United got to the Final we've all seen what has been happening in Europe since

MRbrownJAY: lewis in a race car is a demon, and can make a race car do stuff that many never dream of. i fully respect the abilities of this man, and would never dare to say that Alonso is a better driver than the Hamster (he just won more championship than him, lol). Vettel has also won a few championships, no questions about the fact that he can certainly drive, but we can all confirm that his style is boring, to say the least, and we rarely see some wonderful driving. he simply puts the car in pole, then drive in clean free air till the finish line.......oya, Vettel cheerleaders, come argue that one out!!!
Mercedes have shown us this season that qualifying on pole does not guarantee anything! The haters would always talk but Vettel has proven his capability over and over! We saw what happened when the 'great' Alonso did not have a top 3 car on the grid he could only manage 9th
Sports › Re: FORMULA ONE (F1 2013) Official Thread For 2013 Season by A40(m): 8:21pm On Jul 12, 2013
MRbrownJAY: at least you are confirming that what i am saying, which is Webber is a common driver, whether he has been in F1 for a decade or not.

i said common drivers, not awful.
He had horrible cars! At no point did he drive a top 5 car on the grid before joining Red Bull

MRbrownJAY: the role of massa is also to bring as much constructor's point to the team, as all Ferrari's eggs for the driver's championship are in Alonso's basket.
And to bend backwards as much as he can to help Alonso win abi u wan argue that one?

MRbrownJAY: again, you are not looking at the issue properly, at the end of the day, drivers have to be separated, even if they finish on equal point, and won the same amount of race......... so a system is in place. but to say that one "outperformed" the other is definitely not the word to describe it. he finished 2nd on technicality. what you wrote is as crazy as saying that during a football match 2 teams played equally for 120minutes and after losing on penalty, you will come here and say that the team who score the last penalty outperformed the other, lol!

pls look up the verb outperform, as i doubt this is what the hamster did.
But there was nothing absolutely nothing Alonso did better than Hamilton! If there was he would have been ahead in the standings but I can easily point out things Hamilton did better
I don't need to point out anything! You should not even be level on points with the #2 driver on your team for any reason so for him to now finish ahead of you on countback only adds insult to injury

MRbrownJAY: YES I CAN!!!!!!!
1: Gutierrez, Spanish GP 2013
2: Hulkenberg, Malaysian GP 2012
3: Senna, Belgian GP 2012
4: Kobayashi, Chinese GP 2012
5: Kubica, Canadian GP 2010
6: Petrov, Turkish GP 2010
7: Sutil, Italian GP 2009
8: Glock, European GP 2009

bro, lets stop on this issue as you are clearly failing and mistaking on this fastest lap thingy!!!!
Please scratch Kubica out of that list as he had a decent car on race day! So that makes it 7! While you are it scratch Adrian Sutil's name from the list as well as finished 2nd in qualifying and 4th on race day grin grin add to that you are still endorsing my point! Since 07 you cannot present a sufficient number of races to show that its not rare to set fastest laps on uncompetitive cars
120 races going back to 2007 and you can't bring up 8 instances where an uncompetitive car set the fastest lap time that shows how rare it is

MRbrownJAY: btw here is another info for you, during sunday's race the Hamster was on the radio with his race engineer and this is how the convo went:
Lewis Hamilton: How far am I off the pace compared to the guys in front?
Peter Bonnington: We’re 1.1 to Vettel and he’s the fastest car.
Lewis Hamilton: Is that the same for the other guys as well?
Peter Bonnington: It looks like Alonso struggling a little, Grosjean not too bad on pace.

so here is a Mercedes engineer, someone who KNOWS F1 cars better than me and you, confirming that Alonso's car was NOT competitive. so even though you dont want to take it from MBJ, at least take it from the F1 expert: Alonso was struggling with a car that was NOT competitive.
So struggling at a point in the race automatically equates to a car not being competitive ba? Looool! Anyway this is hardly Vettel's fault so I don't even see the point in your argument

MRbrownJAY: yes you are right, Webber has been in F1 for a decade but thats simply because he was the best "experienced" driver some teams could afford at the time. here is a clue, do you think that Max Chilton can win a race? he wont any time soon, but someone gotta drive that Marrussia car, and some team may opt for an experience driver to bring the "possible" BEST out of this race car, instead of having a pay driver who skills are not always excellent.
Afford? Is it just about affordability? There are lot of cheaper drivers out there than Webber my point is he drove for horrible horrible teams! If he was under-performing in a decent car its a different case his cars were awful

MRbrownJAY: many teams who dont have big bucks to spend on top drivers would rather have a fairly ok experienced driver than gamble on a rookie one, thats why you have people like:
- Massa (12yrs in F1, 11 wins in his entire F1 career, never won the championship)
- Barichello (8yrs in F1, 11 wins in his entire F1 career, never won the championship)
- Fisichella (13yrs in F1, 4 wins in his entire f1 career, never won the championship)
- Coulthard (15yrs in F1, 13 wins in his entire F1 career, never won the championship)
- De la rosa (about 8yrs in F1, 0 win in his entire F1 career, never won the championship)
- Trulli (14yrs in F1, only 1 win in his entire F1 career, never won the championship)
- Frentzen (about 10yrs in F1, 3 wins in his entire F1 career, never won the championship)
We saying the same thing like a synonym
Some of these guys had good cars at some point but couldn't make the jump from also-rans or contenders to champions (Coulthard,Massa,Barichello)
As reflected by their number of wins! Whereas some never got the chance to even drive a decent car (Trulli,De La Rosa,Frentzen) that doesn't make them awful drivers if they where they wouldn't survive that long in F1

MRbrownJAY: the above drivers stayed/staying in F1 far too long, while we all fully well knoow that in their last few yrs in F1, they were never going to win the Championship. Webber is no different than these above guys, the difference is that he has a car that is mighty fast, so it "seems" like he can actually win the championship, while we all know that Vettel is a better driver. the man has NO CHANCE of winning the championship while Vettel is still there. he is only there to bring as much constructor's points as possible to the team. they all know it, WE all know it!
Its not about staying far too long! Let's be factual here everyone needs a decent car to contend no matter how good you are! There can only be one champion as well so I don't really get your point because at the end of the day no matter how good Vettel,Kimi,Alonso,Hamilton are only one guy is going to end up with the title! So if Webber's role is to bring as much constructor's points then please tell us what is the role of Massa?

MRbrownJAY: as for the Hamster vs Alonso, again you are not looking at the right data (only the ones that fits your biased agenda)..... F1 is about consistency on the track, nothing else, so let me correct you ONCE AGAIN:
- Alonso won 4 races that yr not 3, same as the Hamster (Malaysia, Monaco, Europe and Italy).
- Alonso had 12 podium finishes that yr, same as the Hamster.
- Alonso had 109 points, same as the Hamster.
The FIA are also biased that's why its officially on record that Hamilton finished ahead of Alonso right? Ok I'm getting you
So since they won the same number of races and same podium finishes how did Hamilton finish higher than Alonso? Via alphabetical order? Ninja please you shouldn't even be defending this! A rookie ran a double world champion out of his team and you are still here blowing grammar

MRbrownJAY: so pls, care to tell us all, ONCE AGAIN, where you are seeing this "outperform" dream of yours?! as i have said it before, i will say it again, the Hamster is one of the best drivers out there today, no question about it, and i surely understand why he gave Alonso a run for his money while they were teammates. i have never said that Alonso is/was THE best driver out there, as that would be a lie......... but he sure is one of the best in the field today.
Lewis Hamilton outperformed Fernando Alonso in the 2007 F1 season!! The stats are there for all to see! You can argue till you are blue in the face but these are the:
Final Standings
1. Kimi Raikkonen
2. Lewis Hamilton
3. Fernando Alonso
4. Felipe Massa
5. Nick Heidfeld

MRbrownJAY: as for the fastest lap, bro why you want me to put it out for you like that? you must like punishment...ok here it is, i will give you a list of drivers who did NOT have a competitive car but who set fastest lap of a race, since you are fooling yourself into believing that ONLY a competitive car can set a fastest lap during a race:
- Gutierrez, Spanish GP 2013
- Hulkenberg, Malaysian GP 2012
- Senna, Belgian GP 2012
- Kobayashi, Chinese GP 2012
..........and the list goes on! if you believe that any of the above drivers have/had a competitive car, then i must be watching the WRONG F1 races. BWAAAAAAH!
Over the last 6 seasons you can't point to even 8 instances that this has happened we are talking of over a 100 races for the mathematically inclined that is single digit percentage possibility that is why I said rare or damn near impossible to accomplish such a feat! That Ferrari is competitive you and Alonso can keep deceiving yourselves if it helps yall sleep at night but that excuse will not help his cause

MRbrownJAY: now, as for Alonso finishing on top, you are mistaking the man's SKILLS, with having a competitive car. just because Alonso can find it in his driving to finish in the point, doesnt mean he has a competitive car. his experience as a F1 driver is what is at play here, as we all know that if he had a competitive car, he would challenge Vettel at the front DURING THE RACE.
Skills are not enough! All drivers need a good car to win and Alonso's rari is one of the fastest cars out there (top 3 on any given Sunday) the difference was other teams namely the Lotus Renault brought their A-game as well and as usual Alonso faltered when the playing field was level

Howard is a b!tch nigga! I heard he didn't re-sign because he demanded Kobe gets amnestied and he didn't get it! That guy might never win a ring if he continues his aversion to guidance! Kobe's brand of tough love is exactly what he needs at this point of his career his antecedents says it all issues with Van Gundy with D'Antoni. I just hope he doesn't become a cancer to the Rockets locker room because its a young and impressionable team

Lots of interesting moves this off-season
Josh Smith to the Pistons
Metta World Peace gets amnestied
Iggy to the Warriors
Calderon and Harris to the Mavericks
Kaman to the Lakers
Jarrett Jack and Earl Clark to the Cavaliers
Bledsoe and Caron Butler to the Suns
Carl Landry to the Kings
Randy Foye to the Nuggets

Guys like Monta Ellis and Corey Brewer are still out there! I heard the Mavs are going for Bynum smh

dayokanu: Apparently Pep wants Thiago Alcantara.

That means some people in our midfield have to leave,

Kroos, Can Hodjberg and even Gustavo
If he's moving Martinez to CB then Gustavo is the only backup left to play DM which means we can't afford to lose Gustavo! Can and Hojberg are the future I would loathe to see them leave as well unless on loan which is actually not a bad idea! Let's just hope Pep knows what he is doing! Kroos is Bayern product Pep would leave before Kroos leaves

RuuDie: Is it the CM/DM axis...Jones, Carrick, Anderson, Cleverly, Kagawa, Rooney (??), Fletcher (?), Powell (?) are available to fill in there. In short, I'm just not bothered!
Can you dominate Europe with that midfield? That's the big question

MRbrownJAY: ^^ i am very sorry to say that Webber is just a "common" driver in a fast car, any of the second rated drivers you mentioned above could do what he does. hell , i would even say that:"put a Kobayashi in that RBR and you will see miracles!"
And I'm telling you a common driver would not survive over a decade in the sport! Two of the teams I listed earlier are not even in the sport any longer the other one is neck deep in the morass of mediocrity
While Webber is not a legend he's definitely better than most if not all of the ninjas I listed

MRbrownJAY: again, pls check Alonso's record with an unbiased mind as i doubt he was "outperformed" by the Hamster. both finished on equal points that yr, how can you call that outperforming someone?! bwaaaaah!!!!!!! check your data ONCE again, as we all know that Alonso's first ever win was in 2003 with Renault, when Renault was bottom feeders and Kimi/Schumacher were at their best.
The standings clearly show Hamilton finished ahead of Alonso! Same points or not
Hahahaha he had more poles (6 to Alonso's 2) and more race wins! (4 to Alonso's 3) What's more outperforming than that?
How is it that Alonso "the greatest driver in the history of man" gets schooled by a rookie!

Renault were never bottom feeders so try another story! Vettel won a race with a Toro Rosso in a much stronger field with a vastly inferior car
In Alonso's championship years he had the best and most consistent cars on the field!

MRbrownJAY: bro, why do you not see the logic in that fastest lap stuff?! anyone with an empty tank, fresh tyres and clear track will get closer to the fastest lap of the race. Kimi was tucked behind Grosjean and therefore didnt have a clear track when his tyres were fresh at the end of the race. Alonso did have a clear track after his pit and did the fastest laps right then.........after that lap, his time went downhill from there.
Its damn near impossible to set the fastest lap of an entire race without a competitive car! Its very rare rare regardless of how empty your tank is or fresh your tires are! This isn't even an argument

MRbrownJAY: we all know that Alonso rarely have bad days at the office, but what you are implying is that he had a bad day at the office for the past 4races?! come on!
4 bad days? He had a bad day at Canada? Silverstone? I'm not sure I'm getting you at all
