AngryNigerian: For those that always hike prices of goods/services, basing it on dollar increase....hope say una don hear am! Expecting it to hit 200 soon!!!
Now, where's this economist who was ranting here about oil this, balance of trade that? You see that it was just an artificial hike, just like in petrol stations!!
Its too early to celebrate. We don't know the source of the miracle. Are we sure our foreign reserves have not been badly touched?
adonbilivit: so u actually think wike authorized them to levy them for his(wike') perfume? fact is, they may have been paying for that, but it is definitely not a directive from the office of the governor.
cc mynd44
Wike can never do that and no Governor will try it. The revenue collectors are fraudsters thinking the market women are illiterates. Market women are infact one of if not the strongest force in politics.
I just tried to change some money a couple of minutes ago at Hotel Presidential "Hausa De Change" in Port Harcourt and they priced me 245 telling me they have for sale at 250.
barikay: This news is bias. The military were on a mission to render political opponent handicapped. They first storm yeghe destroying the ndigbara house because he is in PDP. The military use bulldozer to bring down the house and killed . Others that follows are appraisal attack on magnus campaign office. I didn't see all that in the news
So you just admitted a militant is in PDP. The Governor has openly said he supported and authorised the raid and Ndigbara cannot be more PDP than Wike.
During Jonathan militants did what they liked but with a General in power try nonsense and your area becomes war zone. Every community habouring militants should chase them away to avoid collateral damage. Since America is in support of Buhari then civilian casualties are but collateral damage while the militants become terrorists.
cupid4ig: so u don't see any thing else to show us except picture of rockview hotel and another hotel? Smh for you
Sorry I didn't know you are too blind to notice the clean and well marked roads and pavements. Any way Tony Okoroji is not Abagworo but he wrote what he saw despite erroneously criticizing Rochas in the past without seeing for himself. Thanks to online liars like you. Imo is moving too fast in the tourism and hospitality business and is today the busiest in Nigeria. Owerri Airport has overtaken Kano as the 4th busiest directly behind Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
God bless Nigeria.
Believe me Owerri which not long ago was a glorified village is rapidly becoming an exotic city, remarkably clean with some great roads, it’s own international convention center, it’s own man-made water falls in the city and some smartly dressed traffic control officials. Owerri even has its own ‘Freedom Square’ where you can go and say anything you want and curse the governor as much as you like and nobody is allowed to arrest you! Exotic houses are springing up all over the city too.
On Valentine’s Day, I invited over my cousin’s wife and her kids. When they arrived, we stepped over to the expansive swimming pool area in the hotel. Mayhem is probably the only way to describe the gaily dressed crowd in the place. It was fun ‘agogo’! It took us quite a while to even get a place to sit. The music was loud and the stand-up comedy raunchy and x rated. I thought it was a little over the bar for what should be a family environment. I was uncomfortable and glanced at my cousin’s wife, a Christian in every way. She was clearly having a good time with her boys and girls in their teens and twenties.
It became clear to me that despite my significant travels and Lagos residence, I was the bush man. While I was in my cocoon, the world has learnt to laugh at words like f**k and c**t. Sex is now openly discussed in front of mother and kids. That is the nature of an exotic environment. I had thought that Nigerian Breweries ‘Ace Roots’ was not in demand. In Owerri, ‘Ace Roots’ is on fire and Star Radler is in demand. On Valentine’s Day, I saw people rock to the music of Davido, Olamide, Flavour, 2 Baba and more.
It was however delirium and commotion when Phyno’s ‘Connect’ blasted off the speakers. The people appeared to be in a trance. There is no question that Phyno has connected with ‘Connect’ in a crazy way. Guys, I have heard repeatedly that nothing is happening in Imo State. It is a big lie. So much is going on. I never was a fan of Rochas Okorocha but it would be insane not to say the truth
Ride on my governor. You understand where we have comparative advantage. Imo is the future and it has begun.
I knew that my guy Phyno is connecting with his latest ‘drop’. I just did not know how much until last Sunday.
Sunday was Valentine’s Day and I was caught up in Owerri, the Imo State capital and the entire city seemed to be on fire. I was shocked to find out how much and how wide the Valentine madness has spread. Those of us who live in Lagos love to think that everything happens in our city. Sometimes, we grudgingly cut some slack for Abuja and maybe Port Harcourt.
How wrong we are!
Boy, last Sunday, Owerri was locked down. Despite the new beautiful network of roads, there was heavy traffic everywhere. All over the city, provocatively dressed damsels held hands and smooched with their beaus with no apologies to anyone.
Owerri easily has more sassy hotels per square kilometer than any other city in Nigeria and the hotels are well run. On Valentine’s Day, the hotels tried to outdo each other. There was music, comedy and fun everywhere.
In my job, I travel quite a bit. As a result, I have seen top hotel rooms in top cities in nearly every continent across the world. This past Valentine’s Day, I had the pleasure of spending my time in one of the best hotel rooms I ever stayed in. Not in Paris, Geneva, Las Vegas or any other exotic city, it was in Owerri! I am not talking about the well-known Concorde Hotel which today is much better than when it was first built.

All Rivers people should support Wike's decision to end cultism and militancy. I will always blame him for supporting Jonathan's regime when they were employing every means possible to win 2015 elections but since he has decided to right the wrong then he deserves our cooperation.
kenny1313: this is one of the major reason I don't support the biafra course, we igbo we don't like our selfs. Rochas is 10 level ahead of every south east politician for your info. An from Imo state and it's hatred and greed that is the problem of my brothers and sisters in Imo trying all they could to rubbish Owelle it won't work just watch out and see how rochas ll relax like Amaechi after his tenure in Imo state. #Rochasweknow. #Hehasthebiggestfoundationinwestafrica. U guys can't stop Owelle Idi igbo.
Don't mind them. I'm sure some of them shamelessly went to the city of springs (Owerri) to enjoy their holidays. Even Fani Kayode their hero met his wife there.
slap1: Propaganda what? Chief I live in Owerri, and Rochas is a collosal scam. We have never had it this bad in Imo State. I know people he hasn't paid since March, 2015.
Melkizedek: Pretty sure Abagworo will be hiding his skin right now...when he has found somewhere safe he will post another bout of mischievous and deceitful propaganda.
What exactly is the propaganda? NLC is against Government policy while Imolites are in support. The best thing is to discuss and come out with a compromise. We are the people while Labour are a tiny population hence our decision counts 1st.
Rochas Okorocha should go ahead with the concessioning. Imolites are solidly behind him. Most of the NLC protesters came from outside the State but yet the turn out was scanty.
Leopantro: But OP, you have always maintained that this Governor is a man of the people, a visionary that wants only the best for his people. He will never let his people and the state to suffer that is why all his policies have been people oriented and Progress driven. Ironic that you are in the midst of the NLC protesters and not the protesters of youth hired to counter protest and praise the governor for all the wonderful things he has done for the state. Wish I had the time, I would print out all the glowing epistle you have ever written about him and distribute it to that group you are in. The effect would be soul lifting.
The fact that most of the protesters came from outside the State tells a story.
godwin120alex: Is a lie he didn't sack ghost workers instead he told the teachers to sign a form in Dec 15 which states that if the see worker after Christmas break they will work but if not those that did not see work will consider themselves sacked and the teachers refused. All the contract is done by his relatives in the stated
The issue is about concessioning of parastatals. Labour feels the Governor is going about it the wrong way. Teachers withdrew from the protest because they have no issue with Government.
The protest is to express their displeasure over the lingering issue of the concession policy by the state government as well as the suspension of workers from 19 parastatals in the state. The Labour shut down all activities at the Sam Mbakwe airport, Owerri and other government offices under the NLC to effect the compliance of the protest.
However, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief John Oyegun is presently at the Government House in Owerri to brief newsmen about the issues. Meanwhile a meeting between State Government and the State Executive of the Nigeria Labour Congress is at the moment ongoing at the office of the Secretary to the Government of Imo State as they are trying to see how to resolve the issue at hand.
Labour could also have been possibly hired by Imo PDP. Its all politics. The protest seems to have flopped as Imo teachers have withdrawn from NLC's plan. Let all parties sheath the sword and work things out amicably.
Despite advice from concerned citizens for all parties to embrace dialogue, Nigerian Labour Congress have commenced a showdown with Imo Government termed "work to rule" aimed at stopping what they termed anti-people policy of concession. While the Labour is marching from one end of town, Imo State youths are marching from another end in support of Government's concession policy. My fear is a possible clash when they eventually meet.
There is love but we have one problem which is Anambra people and quest to rule. If you remove them the rest of Igboland will be at peace. I always say the truth without fear or favour. Have you ever seen any other 2 Igbo States clash except Anambra vs another?
Ikpeazu has nothing to do with Army defending the unity of Nigeria. He is a Governor and not a GOC. The IPOB in Aba supported Otti and once clashed with State Taskforce which resulted in Ikpeazu's kinsmen coming to the aid of Taskforce. If they are for Igbo interest they would never involve themselves in politics.
