Insert QuoteI'm done talking to you, you refused to learn, after all the examples and explanations, you still chose to be deluded, it's okay keep believing the U.S is a major oil producer, if it would satisfy your essence, ![]() |
You say the Saudi Arabians are major oil producers because they produce more than they consume. While the Americans are not because they consume more than they produce. Saudi's population is 29 Million. Women don't really drive. They don't need as much diesel to power their machines or oil to heat their homes. USA's population 300 Million and counting. See why they consume more? You're still barking up the wrong tree pal, regardless of population, for you to be considered a major oil producer you must be able to produce more than you consume , use this analogy, your family cows produces 2 gallons of milk per day, your family consumes 4 gallons per day, would you consider your family a major milk producer. It's the simplest of facts, if you don't get that then I'm sorry, I can't explain any simpler. |
I am done talking to you. This debate is not intellectually stimulating for me. You just said the US is not a major oil producing nation? really? You refuse to answer my questions. You are not willing to learn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production. They are number 3 in the world. Close to 8 billion barrels per day. If you live in the US as you claim. Go see the oil rigs in Houston, Go see the oil rigs in Louisiana, Go to Carlifornia. Read up about the gulf of Mexico. Houston TX is the Oil/energy capital of the World.Mr man, stop insulting yourself, you rely on wikipedia for concrete information, wow! In order for a nation to be considered a major oil producing nation, it must produce more oil than it can consume, if you did proper research you'll notice the U.S consume twice or three times the amount of oil it produces, thereby not qualified as a major oil producer. I live in the U.S and I'm well versed in research, when I say something, believe me it can be backed with cold hard facts. You were so quick to try to disprove me that you failed completely in your research, Saudi Arabia is a major oil producer because it produces way more than the people can consume, Nigeria is not a major oil producer because it can't even refine it's own oil even though it is blessed with abundant oil. Check your beloved wikipedia and compare oil production and oil consumed by each country that I've described and then come back and tell me who's the major oil producers, case closed! |
which goes back to all I have been saying all along. Deregulation and removal of fuel subsidy is not the same thing. It is not the same thing. You claim removal of fuel subsidy is the magic bullet. It is not. Get that into your head. Deregulation (good). Removal of subsidy=Higher tax on the people (bad). Since you love Ronald Reagan so much you should know that. You can't raise taxes on the people when the economy is weak. The US oil industry is deregulated and yet the government spends 3.5 billion on oil subsidy. They spend billions on other subsidies for other forms of energy, including coal, nuclear, solar, wind and ethanol, all of which have received billions of dollars in tax incentives. Explain it to me Oh Learned one who has done all the research.Stop trying to justify yourself, it's people like you that started the confusion in the first place. Removal of fuel subsidy= higher tax on people, it has nothing to do with taxes, get that into your head! When you deregulate the oil sector, it means government is not ht sole sponsor of the oil sector, meaning private investors also can compete with NNPC, making oil product cheaper in the country. The removal of fuel subsidy has nothing to do with taxes, only illiterate people will think that way, yes inflation goes up temporarily but the benefits outweighs the damage. The United States can afford to subsidize because the tax here is three times the amount in Nigeria and the GDP here is well over that of Nigeria, you talk of 3.5 billion on oil subsidy forgetting that the U.S is not a major oil producing nation, which means importation is a must, Nigerians have always claimed to be a major oil producing nation but you lack refineries and yet want to enjoy oil subsidy, come on man, get real! |
http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/debates/2012-01-08-republican-debateHere you go again mixing apples and oranges. What's the GDP of the United States and that of Nigeria? The United States economy is not based solely on oil, Nigeria's economy is based 90% on oil. The United States have deregulated every sector possible in their economy, Nigeria frowns against deregulation, rather preferring government to run everything, The best administration ever in U.S history was the Reagan Admkinistration in which he carried out major deregulation policies and gave the power back to the private investors, at first it was harsh on the people and inflation went up but gradually the country embraced it and now they are way better off, try to do your research when comparing the U.S to Nigeria, you obviously lack in the area of U.S history! |
Corruption is the only reason we do not have working refineries. We are slaves to countries that have refineries because our leaders wanted it to be so. Stop comparing us to Ghana. Case in point, poor Venezuela has working refineries. Google it. I have read your other posts, and I think you believe removal of fuel subsidy and deregulation are the same thing. Educate yourself. They are not. The government just packaged good (deregulation) with bad(removal of fuel subsidy). Educate yourself Georgia boy.Keep trying to justify your own twisted fantasy! Deregulation is deregulation, there's no bad or good, removal of fuel subsidy and the privatization of the oil sector will create more competition and a better marketplace for Nigerians. To simplify things, I'll give you an example of the evil of subsidy. Oando , Shell & other oil companies buy refined oil from Iran or Saudi Arabia at the rate of 100 naira, they told government they bought it at 200 naira, government under the subsidy arrangement must allow them to sell it to Nigerians at the rate of 65 naira, meaning government pays for the remaining 135 naira, meaning the oil companies make a profit of 100 % and the Nigerian economy is defrauded and degraded at the same time. We all wonder why there's no stable power supply, no jobs and poor security, the answer is simple, government is being blackmailed by the big shots oil companies and the politicians that owns them. Yes corruption is a big issue, yes the government salaries should be slashed and yes the refineries should be working, but we can't achieve anything without first deregulating things, today it's the oil sector, tomorrow it's the power sector, little by little Nigeria will be free. |
You propaganda bearing fools should stop comparing Nigeria to Ghana. We are not in the same league. We produce over 2 million barrels a day. We've been a major oil player since the 50's, and you want us to pay more for petrol than the Americans do. 140 a liter *4= 1 gallon. America pays about 3.39/gallon +or- some cents. Nigerians now pay about $3.70 and you think it's fair?. In a country where minimum wage is 18,000 a month. Folks in the Niger Delta who never saw any benefits from oil would now have to pay more for everything. Isn't that ironic? Compare us to Venezuela, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Turkmenistan and Kuwait. Where petrol is cheaper than water.Aren't you the biggest ignoramus in the world, you produce such a huge amount of oil but you can't refine any of it and you call yourself a major oil player, get real, you people must be high on horse weed, without any working refineries, our oil is basically useless, we are still slaves to the countries that have working refineries, Ghana is in a way better position than Nigeria because they have a lesser population and they have working refineries! |
We have a lot of goats and animals here on nairaland, the same people cursing the president now are the ones who praised him heavily at the time of election and who termed him as the saviour. Now, you all want the president to do everything, as if he's a one man army, government is way too big and Jonathan cannot be the one to solve all of Nigeria's problem, the solution starts with sacrifice and good policies such as deregulation, let's deregulate every sector and see if we are not better off, we need to stop thinking about what we can gain now and look at the bigger picture but I can understand the skepticism from Nigerians, the government cannot be trusted and their extravagant spending is completely outrageous, but let's not let that cloud our judgement. |
Your sort of mentality is the reason why Nigeria is still where it is today. No light, No security, No shelter, No good roads, No good water, No refinery even though we are oil producing, Total neglect of infrastructure, Total neglect of the Niger-delta, Total neglect of the Niger bridge, Total neglect of people dying in the North, Lack of accountability, Lack of credibility, Lack of industrial growth apart from Oil which the entire country is dependant on, Lack of economic growth apart from the telecommunication sector by OBJYou sir make me laugh! You want to enjoy everything without risking anything, you're just like the rest of the protesters who waited till the removal of subsidy before making a sound, it's pathetic and at the same thing funny, I suggest you and the other protesters get your stories straight, if you're going to fight corruption fight corruption and if you're going to fight deregulation, then fight deregulation, stop mixing things up! If you really want to change things, and behave like the Arab uprising, set yourself on fire and let's get the ball rolling, talk is cheap either you go fully in or get off the road. You want the government to build refineries and slash their salaries before actually deregulating several sectors that would into lead to more healthy competitions and greater productivity, what you sir are asking for is the impossible! The Nigerian government that we all know so well has never slashed its salaries and the issue of refineries is being choked by greedy politicians and businessmen who thrive on subsidy and the importation of generators, GEJ is not stupid, he knows that in order to actually accomplish anything during his administration, he must effect change that is hard on the population as a whole but which will eventually lead them to greater benefits instead of tackling corruption which won't do anything but cause more confusion and wastage, if you and the other protesters can't see that, then it's too bad. |
I suggest you get off your soapbox and discuss the key issues about this oil subsidy:My friend, now who's choking on the soapbox! You want the government to go after corruption, not knowing that the government itself is corrupt. GEJ is just one man, and in order to really fight corruption, he cannot go after those you talk about because they have the power to impeach him rather he can take away the wastage bits by bits by deregulating everything. Deregulation is the only way to fight corruption in a country like Nigeria, if you doubt that, then ask why EFCC didn't work out, the truth is that corruption is too deep in Nigeria and no civilian government can do anything to wipe it out but they can put in place measures that gives the people joy in the long run. My advice is that most Nigerians should stop thinking about now and start thinking ahead, if deregulation had happened like it was supposed to during the OBJ administration then we would all be enjoying the benefits now. |
Ever heard the phrase 'pushed to the wall'? It seems the populace has been pushed to the wall, and are 'fighting' back, or about to as it were. It's a poor arguement to keep asking "why didn't you fight all this while that you were pushed, why fight when you got to the wall?". Trust seems the main issue here, the government has lost trust. There's no guarantee that the 'subsidy money' would be rightly used as proposed on paper. Security issues, naira drop, bad roads, poor electricity, open bribe&corruption, reckless power play etc have created a sort of boiling point. Do you now understand? You make a good point! Trust is the main factor, I pity GEJ because he's really trying to do the right thing but the lack of trust between the populace and the government is what's fueling this chaos! I was never a supporter of GEJ and personally I feel like he's too soft but looking at things from the economical point of view, removal of fuel subsidy makes sense, I just wish there was a way that he could lessen the hardship like regulating the price back to 100 naira instead of 140. |
Living in a rural Georgia town perhaps clouds your understanding of the issues confronting Nigeria.Another example of ignorance, calling Lithonia a rural part of Georgia, enough of your glaring misguidance, and talking about predicaments, how much have you contributed to the Nigerian economy? You made reference to someone earning 20,000 naira per month, why didn't such a person protest the condition of the refineries or the fact that there's too much corruption, why wait till it hits home before doing something? The answer is simple, most Nigerians are guided by this simple philosophy: If it doesn't affect me, then wetin come be my own. A philosophy that got us to this very predicament, why must we wait till the removal of fuel subsidy before protesting, we watched the government continue to steal billions of naira and infrastructure and basic ammenities such as electricity and security dwindle down, nobody said anything but now because everyone is hooked on fuel, there's an uproar! Nigeria is one messed up country and unless true deregulation happens, it will continue to be an hell hole for the poor and a fountain of wealth for the rich, the choice is yours, support deregulation or continue with the way things have been for the past few decades, no infrastructure, no stable form of electricity and definitely no security, enough said! |
Population have noting to do with it.Don't be naive! The U.S has other forms of energy and it has fully working refineries! You people need to wake up and smell the coffee, never compare the U.S to Nigeria, even Saudi Arabia and Qatar are better off because they have refineries that work and don't have to import refined oil. Nigerians are not getting it, we are not an oil rich nation because we can't refine our own oil, what's the purpose of raw cassava if you can't turn it into garri. Instead of a protest on getting the refineries back to working order, useless NLC and other unions are busy protesting fuel subsidy, if government should return fuel subsidy, Nigeria is still in big trouble, not only would we remain underdeveloped but the whole country risks going bankrupt, with corrupt leaders stealing money and the people continuing to enjoy what they can't afford, Nigeria would become the laughing stock of Africa. Greedy people, you compare yourselves to the U.S., how many of you can pay the taxes levied in the U.S? How many of you follow the law? You complain of drainage problems but are the ones throwing rubbish into the drains, you complain of no electricity yet you refuse to protest to the government, our graduates are rendered useless because of lack of employment, how can there be jobs, when the government can't afford to pay it's salaries and subsidize the economy at the same time. GEJ realizes that he can't stop corruption, it's bigger than him, so he plans on giving the people the tools necessary to effect change, starting with the removal of fuel subsidy and the privatization of NEPA, if after a year things don't look better then you can start complaining but as for now, you people are barking up the wrong tree. |
Oh! Nigerian people and their rundown statistics. You want to talk about statistics let's start with this, all the countries mentioned in your analysis have working refineries except for Nigeria. All the countries in your analysis have alternative forms of energy except for Nigeria. Most of the countries on your list have corrupt leaders, so we know corruption is not the major issue, the real issue is the state of refineries and the apparent coup by the marketers and rich businessmen in Nigeria to cripple the electricity supply in Nigeria thus making fuel the most demanded commodity in Nigeria. Our chronic dependency on oil has landed us in deep mess, imagine any little fiasco, pengassen and other fuel bigots threatens strike action, and who ends up hurting more, the masses. We want to continue enjoying 65/naira per liter without a working refinery, that's a big joke! Wake up people, the world is in a deep recession, Nigeria's population is humongous and our greed as a nation is out of this world. One thing baffles me though, why didn't anyone protest before the fuel subsidy was removed, none of you bothered to complain about the fact that we have to import refined oil just to meet our consumption demands, none of you bothered to protest the state of electricity in the country, but as soon as fuel subsidy was removed, you flock to the streets and yell "injustice". When would we stop reasoning based on emotions and start working together as a nation of intellects, perhaps that's the problem, Nigerians are so intelligent that they always fail to see the simple path, if fuel subsidy remains, the government would never build the refineries because wealthy men are enjoying most of the subsidies and Igbo businessmen loves to profit from the sales of generators, instead let's demand that the government remove the subsidy as long as it's done in order to build refineries, I know the government is corrupt but seriously upon reading the subsidy plan and knowing that GEJ is not a cold-hearted president, I'm sure it will be worth the sacrifice, don't tell me Nigerian masses can't afford 140 naira per liter fuel, we spend more going to cybercafe , recharging our phones or drinking beer with the guys. |
Professor Oluwole Omo Ake Soyinka has always being someone i adore, He speaks the truth and cares less who's ox is gored. He views issues from the perspective of a local and a westerner. He makes decision like an informed person. Though i will derail a lil on this issue of gayism. Now here is someone that knows how to analyze things, you are completely right! I haven't even thought about the spiritual factor in the Nigerian society. |
when will all you simple minded sons of Israel get it into your heads that you are not God ? the reason you have a miserable existence in all the parts of the world you are scattered in (go all over the world, black people are the most degraded race) is because you couldnt keep the lords statutes and commandments. you are so pig headed as a race. moses went up into the mountains to collect the commandments, before he came down you all had reverted to worshipping idols. even today in africa you do human sacrifices, you lynch people, bribery, corruption, jealousy, armed robbery, etc etc etc. you are the most corrupt people in the world. that is why you are a fallen and degraded people. and YET YOU HAVE THE GALL TO WANT TO BE THE JUDGE JURY AND EXECUTIONER TO HOMOSEXUALS ? the arrogance and hypocrisy of it all is astounding. you better get yourselves right with God. worry about your own salvation. then when you get to the level of say an ezekiel or isaiah or daniel, then you can try to reach out to others.@Buzugee- I knew you were looking for attention with your very first post, now it's very clear. Your type are always seeking attention because you were deprived of such throughout your childhood, They fed you pig milk instead of breast milk, so your sense of reasoning got screwed along the way. It's okay, you've successfully lambasted the black race, my question to you now is, are you not among the black race? or have that little fact eluded your memory? The funniest thing about your analysis is that, every single part of your statement can be related to the American society also, my dad worked in the investigate division of the FBI for over 25 years and he's seen it all from human sacrifices to corruption and bribery, even worse, homosexuality and pedophiles, so when you compare this to the African race, I think we're still okay for now, we can't afford to add homosexuality into the mix, maybe you are comfortable with explaining to your kids, how a man and another man can be married and have a sexual relationship but I just can't comprehend such a fact, Homosexuality is a disease and like all other disease, it will spread if the healthy ones choose not to act! |
soyinka is very right. the rest of you are wrong. you are all self absorbed and egocentric. let him without sin cast the first stone. you guys who are so vehemently against gay people think you are gods. you have a 'deity complex'. i dont in any way think soyinka condones homosexuality but i think he is smart and humble enough to leave such matters to the ultimate judge Yahawah. you mortals are simply playing judge jury and executioner for which you will all pay when Yahawashi returns. this is one of the things the lord hates. arrogance and hypo-criticism. you are arrogant enough to play God and hypocritical enough to judge other mortals when you are not without sin.If I didn't know better, I would have argued against you, but people like buzugee and beaf, mr.cork and the rest of the demonic gang will argue vehemently until the thread becomes filled with senseless cohorts. |
am so happy the quran neva said you force your pple to her wish also the quran neva said you shud punish people that go against her wish. So why go against gays? My friend you are not reasoning here. Also what strong sense of culture are you talking about? A culture where a woman head is scrape dat she killed her husband? A culture where people are subjected against their personal wish. A culture where a woman is left to wander the street that shez a winch or wateva? A culture with BABArIc beliefs ? You called that a culture been jealous off? If the white needs to learn a culture not a culture like nigerias. NotFor a realist, you're not doing a good job of bolstering your points. Why is it that you only see the negative in culture, open your mind, my young friend, talking from experience, my attitude and sense of responsibility are envied by the Americans that i work with, they see the way I talk to my superiors and my posture also when talking in front of my parents, they come to our African parties and see the colourful expressions, they see the sense of family and the passion. They see discipline and a deep sense of morality, all the very essence of our culture and tradition, you see, we never know what we have until it's taken away from us. The blacks in America are lost and clueless today because they have no sense of culture, no form of tradition, if we lose this then what exactly is left. And now to the important discussion, my friend you are obviously clueless about Islam or what is entailed in the Quran, I suggest you leave the Quran out of this and talk about something that you can back up with facts, it's the only way to maintain your credibility. |
my friend how do you judge a religion been credible? You say am affected by the white mentality. Why dont you drop been a christian or muslim and go back to worship what your great fore fathers did in the past? After all these religion were brought in by same white people you go against today. Also you saying religion goes against so making it wrong is totally ridiculous. Are the gay christians or muslims? Y force your religious beliefs on them? Y dont u say since boko haram kill and islam is credible then you should kill too?!. Your arguement as got no base. Am sorry to say but thats the truth. Dont use your religion on others. Its your business not theirs. They ave d right to listen to you if they like. neva u forget that this people called gays are not kids. also i expect to see you killin people hu goes to church cuz islam does not side christianity. And i also expect a muslim to do so. You saw nothing wrong with bigamy, prostitution, fornication and violation u went to gayism? Are you sane? Why can't people use their common sense for once instead of making false comparisons, there's no where in the Quran that said, "murder the innocent, violate their females and burn their houses", there's no where in the Quran that said, "force Islam on your neighbors and if they refuse slaughter them like pigs". Boko Haram is just like any other terrorist group like Al-Queda, M.E.N.D and others, all of them have no religious justification and will meet their doom one way or the other. If you read my comment earlier, you would notice I said certain aspects of our tradition, but all you picked from that was sango and other deities? You need to open your mind and stop looking at things from one side, it seriously undermines your intellectual reasoning. Africa has already been through enough, poverty, disease and mental collapse, why add homosexuality to its complications, how do you explain to a kid, that his uncle his married to another man or that your neighbor's wife is a man, why put our society through the same crap that's affecting society in the western world. I live in the United States I've seen what the horrors of a misguided society can do to the value of a family. Kids are screwed from the start, parents can't discipline their kids because they have no sense of morality, the government allowed so much crap now it's coming back to bite them. If we allow Homosexuality then it will be the end of us, the one thing that makes the western world jealous of us, is our rich and strong sense of culture, if we throw that away then what exactly do we have left? |
This pastor is one hell of a dirty freak. My friend!!! Nothing is wrong in SOYINKA analysis. Why dont the pastor go against muslims and say its wrong for a man to marry 4wifes since it does not go wit the bible? What his business with peoples personal life affair? Religion as well as Marriage is a personal affair. The government have no right, i repeat no right to intrude into one personal agenda neither does the pastor. If MR a decides to marry same - sex Mr B thats their business not ours. They both agreed to it. So why intrude? If your religion says sacrifise people and your followers are willing to abide by it then since its your followers there is nothing wrong. SOYINKA has said the truth NIGERIAN law makers needs to know d discrepancy between personal and public issues. And so should not intefere in peoples personal life. And you all should note SOYINKA is not in support of GAY but hez against the punishment by the Federal government. When last did the federal government see a man on the street and say u take this go get your marriage done? If you all are based on soyinkas statement religiously wrong. Then you all should go correct your damn niffty religion and mind your business and not dabble into others religious belief. If you say we are africans and his statement is wrong then you all should go correct your damn niffty traditions. Exhibited in the south eastern part of nigeria. The south south and south west in emphasis even the north. Abeg spare my MODEL a break and u all mind your business. Am no gay just sayin u should learn to see pples personal affairs and respect itMister I think you've allowed western television to cloud your brain, Africa must learn 2 hold on to certain aspects of their traditions otherwise we would be in more chaos than the western countries or Europeans. HOMOSEXUALITY is wrong, the two most credible religion oppose it, so why are we beating around the bush. If we should allow homosexuality then we might as well allow all the vices that comes with it, such as cross dressing, disease and the complete breakdown of the family system. SOYINKA is nothing but an irrelevant old man whose days are well beyond him. This is one case that I'm glad the government has the balls to stand up for what is right! |
GANIYU OLANREWAJU SOLOMON for governor 2015, This is the man that will bring change to Lagos. Tinubu fears him and knows that he cannot control him that's why he prevented him from becoming the Senate Minority Leader so as to clip his wings. When they asked Tinubu about GOS, he said this is a man that puts the nation and people ahead of his personal interests.@Walala- You must be joking right? GOS for 2015, are you kidding? I lived in mushin for over 24 years, and witnessed the incompetency of GOS both at the local level and at the state level. As a chairman, he was very ineffective , crime in Mushin skyrocketed and it became known as one of the dirtiest place to live in Lagos. In the senate, he has been a "no show" only there to take part in the sharing of funds. Abeg, look for better candidate, there's no way GOS can be governor without the help of TINUBU, and that's a solid fact! |
@ABBEY, You are taliking crap. Make i scan my tax clearance card show u. In my household, between my myself, my wife, her sister and cousin, we pay total yearly tax of over 1million to Lagos State Govt, yet we pay for our own water, estate security, burn our fuel for gen just name it. You dont live in lekki or lagos. U live in USA, even your USA, I have been there. I am tired of typing jare. One day sha, something will happen to correct this injustice.@Megastu- I would very much like to see a scan of your tax clearance card that details your total tax contribution for the year. You claim that four people in your household pay a total of 1 million in taxes but you failed to establish your occupation, if and what type of business you own and what exactly were you taxed on. You're right My residence is in the U.S but I own a house in Lagos and I'm also a consultant for a friend of mine who owns a business in Lagos, I'm familiar with the tax system. What exactly does taxes have to do with water or electricity? Even here in the U.S we are taxed on every pay check between 15% to 33% and we still have to pay our water and electricity bills, as if that's not enough, we pay sales tax on everything from fruits to burgers , the main point is that we are glad to pay it, for a sensible citizen knows that in order for government to function effectively it has to have an efficient tax system. We cannot put all the blame on the government, we must evaluate ourselves and see if truly we are contributing to the welfare of the state. Imagine most people go to Alaba or electronics market and buy what they need but they don't factor in taxes, not only is the consumer cheating the government but the seller also. Without sufficient income, the government cannot run effectively, corruption or no corruption, facts will be facts. We all dream of an efficient society like the U.S but we are not willing to make the crucial sacrifices, so the government shall continue to impose itself until we learn to do the right thing. |
I for one believe the poster and his supporters are smoking crack! Agree, Fashola and Tinubu are probably exploiting their positions but by no means are they sucking the Lagos population dry, in fact, out of all the states in Nigeria, Lagos still remains the most developed and most lucrative for businesses. The sad truth is that most Lagosians don't pay their fair share of tax, including most of you here on Nairaland. Apart from taxes, most Lagosians are fond of blaming the government when they themselves are the ones spoiling the states, imagine the government spent billions on drainage systems only for it to be cluttered by people dumping trash and waste into drains. You claim that the government is not doing anything but you would rather spend the little you make on beer and party than to save for rainy days. The government is not the solution to all problems and should not be relied upon to do everything, what ACN has done in Lagos should not be underestimated and never taken for granted, sure TINUBU and FASHOLA embezzle money but at the same time they've helped developed Lagos and are a lot better than PDP, who would have embezzled just as much with nothing to show for it. |
I believe a real man should never hit a woman except under two highly critical condition, the woman puts your life or the life of your family or kids in immediate danger or she continues to hit you violently without any remorse. A lot of people would like to say there's no reason to be violent with a woman but if psychological research has proven that women respect men better when the man takes a firm stand and is not afraid to defend himself. Men should learn 2 control their temper and remember that the women are generally weaker in physical terms even though their mouth makes them seem much stronger than they really are. |
Only ignorant folks will believe such rumors, what benefit are these artiste to AKON's music label, Americans can't understand what they are saying and certainly won't sell among the more gangsta population of black America not to talk of white upper and middle class. I don't know about the other two artiste but P-Square will never leave their own record label, it's way too big right now and selling massive records. |
I can understand why people are angry, there's no job, no electricity, the roads are dangerous and absolutely no security, but how long do we continue like this, obviously something has to change. The Lagos State government should have enlightened people before embarking on such a catastrophic plan, because of the impending removal of fuel subsidy, it's absolutely fatal to start charging toll on any road, anyways, the government will be the government and things must go on. There's nothing bad about introducing tolls as a way to generate income for the development of Lagos, since majority of Nigerians don't pay their fair share of tax, it is imperative for government to device another means of generating income. Imagine a country with an effective tax system, imagine how much development can occur with the right type of leader, Fashola is a visionary, unfortunately he's almost out of time! |
There's one major factor to consider and that is whether the poster has relevant experience in the industry he wishes to pursue, if not then an Harvard MBA wouldn't be much of a benefit. With that said, any foreign based degree especially a graduate degree will give anyone an upper edge in the Nigerian job market, you do not have to spend 40 million Naira before you are considered an heavyweight, I repeat it's all about diversity, a degree with years of concrete experience will make anyone a success story in Nigeria, now mix that with a strong networking portfolio and what we get represents a candidate that will excel in Nigeria and abroad. In conclusion, I believe the poster should definitely pursue a graduate degree but one that costs less, Harvard is so overrated, especially if you plan on using the degree to work in Nigeria, focus more on relevant experience and networking and less on the reputation of a school. |
Truly a Sovereign National Conference is the only realistic solution to Nigeria's problems. There's too much diversity and religious contradictions among the Nigerian people and we cannot sustain a country filled with so many negative factors, Tinubu has every right to call for SNC, as a leader sometimes the things you see are far beyond the thinking capabilities of the public, who would rather continue to suffer in silence till the end of time, |
@all4naija - u failed once again to acknowledge simple fact- logical reasoning or science does not answer everything and as long as it does not have these answers, it definitely cannot prove that God doesn't exist. The burden of proof is on you and other atheist to prove otherwise, since you don't live in Nigeria and you've never experienced spiritual happenings then how can you argue against something that you simply do not understand, no amount of scientific reasoning, or knowledge can substitute for the plain fact that you are a novice in the spiritual realm and somethings are just not explainable. |
@all4naija - Are you a Yoruba or Igbo? Better yet do you stay in Nigeria? If so then you must agree that there are somethings that cannot be explained through science or logical thinking. You can continue to deny all you want but the world operates beyond science, there's a spiritual realm, put aside religion and go back towards traditional practices, how do you explain a man being hit with a knife and it does not penetrate or a man shot at with a gun and the bullets failed to penetrate. How do you explain, with just a few materials, how traditional priests and some christian clerics can summon rain from a clear sky. All these I've seen with my own eyes, and it proves that there are somethings that just can't be explained through scientific reasoning, science can never give answers to what it does not understand, an attempt to do so, will always result in vanity! |
You all can continue to argue all day long and no conclusion will be reached. For those who believe no proof is necessary for those who don't, no proof is justifiable. As long as atheist agree that they did not create themselves and that there's a force greater than their limited minds, then why are we still arguing? |
For those who believe, no proof is necessary, for those who don't, no amount of proof can be justified. For all Atheist, ask yourselves these? Are you able to wake yourself up after sleep or can you control when sleep comes? If you cannot, then you agree that there is a force unlike any other force that causes this things to happen, in religion this is called a spirit and since God is a spiritual force therefore he can never be quantified, something all atheist are trying to do. Before Christianity, before Islam, before Buddhism, there has been a believe in a supreme being, capable of anything, a force that we humans can never understand, a force that can never be questioned, neither can it be quantified by mere logical intrusions. |
