Is that so, so if he says he's yoruba it will now be for tribal reasons, even his surname is for political reasons, the fact that the yorubas in illorin have been subdued by an emir means they are fulanised

Subdued by who? Hahahahaha. Guy, u are funny. Don't just follows the lies people on social media especially the non Yorubas peddle on social media just to spite the Yorubas. The Emir don't even speak fulani anymore, except Yoruba. Go to Ilorin Town now, everywhere is Yoruba u hear people speaking. Speak fulani to people and they will look at you as "who is this alien?". Guy, just forget oooo.

They deliberately kept repeating that a muslim hospital, a muslim doctor, a muslim etc rescued her. Meanwhile, it was the same muslims that attempted to lynch her in the first instance. I don't care much for narratives that strive to be politically correct. Are we supposed to clap for muslims that rescued her or condemn those that tried to kill her?

She wrote that epistle by herself. So if u want to accuse anybody at all, she should be the one. Actually, she was trying to let you know that there are good and bad people in every society.
And mind, the killing is from both side of kaduna and both side of religion.
Romance / Re: Stunning Pre-Wedding Pictures Of Fulani Couples by abdulkayus(m): 10:57am On Nov 06, 2018
FemiMaduka:
The term 'Hausa-Fulani' does not make much sense outside of politics. This is so because the Fulanis (Fulbe) are a vastly different people from the Hausas - though they usually share geographical space and are also bound by Islam. The Fulani have been observed to be the more educated and 'civilised' - do not be mistaken about the nomadic culture. The relationship between the Hausas and the Fulanis is almost that of feudalism. The Fulanis are the aristocrats of the Hausa society. This is unarguably a relic of the 1804 jihad of the doughty Othman Dan Fodio - a Pullo himself. For example, most (if not all) emirs across northern Nigeria are Fulanis, even in core Hausa dormains like Kano and Zaria. This is made even more cutting when one realises that Ahmadu Bello, Shehu Shagari, Musa Yar'adua, Mohammadu Buhari, Tunde Idiagbon, Olusola Saraki, Bukola Saraki, Umar Dikko, Atiku Abubakar, Murtala Mohammed, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi etc. are all Fulani (or of Fulbe ancestry). Many notable personalities across West Africa inclusive.

However, this does not necessarily portray one culture as better than the other, it is just an observation of the roles that each has played, by intention or by happenstance, in the course of history.

The Hausas are the more conservative type - the Fulanis are actually not as conservative as people think. For example, most Fulani maidens don't use the flowing veil, as they are usually clad in revealing attires with their naturally long hair and elaborate face painting (the Fulanis are masters at this. See the henna culture.) flowing and glowing in the open. And I personally think the colours purple and blue have a special place in the Fulani dress-culture.

Morphologically, the Fulanis are usually tall and slim, with curly hair and an aquiline nose (check out Buhari and Sanusi). They are mostly fair in complexion (the Igbos are mostly fair too) - unlike the dark complexion of the average Hausaman - and they have a distinctive Indian-like dark hue (for the dark ones).

The Hausas excel in trade and commerce. The age-long trans-Sahara trade routes are a testament to this fact. The Hausas traded in spices, dyes, salt, gold, etc. The Hausas made so much contact with North Africa, that they already had lodges along the trade route, which were later useful in the series of religious pilgrimages that followed.

The Hausas are relatively more stoutly built and are generally more temperamental than the Fulanis - the Fulanis are usually calm in demeanour (though could attain savage heights).

The Fulanis also have a natural ability for endurance, in relation to physically exerting tasks. This is comparable to that of people from East Africa (Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia etc.) who are naturally built for marathon races. I personally feel this has a link with the Guinean Highlands origin of the Fulanis. Oxygen is relatively low on the highlands, so evolution has a way of dealing with it.

The Fulanis have a lot in common with the Maasais of East Africa.

Nigeria is rich in DIVERSITY.

P.S.: these are all personal views on the Fulanis. I may be wrong on some points. It's just the way I perceive it.

And who told you Tunde Idiagbon, Olusola and Bukola Saraki are fulani or of fulani heritage. That is a big lie. Not everyone from Ilorin is fulani. Ilorin is a Yoruba town but the ruler is of fulani heritage. And even the so call fulanis in Ilorin in which they are even few has been yorubanised. They speak Yoruba, claimed Yoruba and can't even speak anything in fulani again.
And mind you, Saraki are not even actually from Ilorin, they came from other Yoruba Town. Bukola Saraki just make that comment that time for political reasons.

Have you ever see Muslims going into Christians page on Sunday to disparage them? It is very rare. I have been on Nairaland for long to know that Muslims hardly comment on Christian's page, rather , it is the atheist that you guys always have problem with. The atheist are the one that are always invading Christian page and make bad comments.
But come to Muslims page on Friday, most of you guys are there to make foul of their religion, make disparage comments, abuse them and their religion and way of life and all such of unthinkable things. It is one of the main reason that make Seun to implement that submission of oath when about to in Islam page just to sanitise the page but still some stubborn ones like you will still invade it and disparage their belief. To be frank, this is unfair.

Same with noodles especially Indomie, They make more sales in the north than any other part of the nation. Same with soft drinks companies also, coca cola, Pepsi, Mountain dew, Viju, Fresh Yo, Maltina, etc, I think they sell more in the north cos of low consumption of alcoholic drinks.

NB make more money from selling their non alcoholic drinks like Maltina, Amstel Malta and Fayrous in the north than alcoholic drinks while they make more money from selling alcoholic drinks in the south than non alcoholic drinks. I see no issue or hypocrisy in the CSR of NB or acceptance of the gifts by the Kano government since they also contribute to the pocket of NB by taking their non alcoholic drinks most.
Even soft drinks companies like Coca Cola and 7 up make much more money in the north than in the south, that is why they have more of their plants there.

Don't let your bigotry be cloud your sense of reasoning. Two wrongs can never make a right and for your information, I served in the east and there is a central mosque we use in Federal polytechnic, Oko in Anambra state, there is also a big mosque in University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom and these are mosques are large enough that we even use them for Jumaat prayers. Do they have a Chapel ? Tell me about it

Christians in Bayero University, Kano do have chapel. There is chapel of victory (Hausa and English) section and there is also Catholic. I do agree that there is no building as a church but theatres, lecture halls and pavilion are used as Church and fellowship centers. ABU Zaria do have buildings as church but I don't know of some other northern universities.
But this same scenarios also played out in the south also, especially south east and south south. When I did my NYSC in Anambra state, there is no mosque in Unizik, we even applied for a certificate of occupancy for us to build a mosque at Abagana secretariat but we were denied. So this issue is all round and it is not something to be happy about. This religion bigotry and sentiments is really killing us.
