seunpinky:She can also use sole custody documentation if she has that. As for her ability to care for her baby while working, babies that have clocked 1yo can be enrolled at daycare centers while the mother works so IRCC shouldn’t reject her application on the basis of “who will care for the child?” Her primary concern should be evidencing that she has the rights to travel with her baby and also can conveniently finance POF for family of two (and hence afford daycare). |
henryvic:Okay, you should give it at least 20 days after your AOR. I don’t think there’s any cause for concern yet at all. My husband’s BIL came in 18 days post AOR. Go ahead with your medical; one doesn’t affect the other. |
henryvic:I don’t think there’s anything you can do to speed it up. You could try calling them but they may tell you it’s still within their normal processing period. When in January did you submit? |
Fendy34:Congratulations! |
Bilingualism: |
bekayy:Did mine in December and the short paper is still red while the white paper(s) has the fingerprints and passport photo. |
olig:Yes, AAT qualifies while ACA (ICAN) does not. Quite ironic too. |
Congratulations to all who got ITA today! |
aestake:Good old days lol. I paid N1.69m in December for family of 3. This January, it seems it has increased to N2m |
saskatoonguy:Can the brother give you his card details so you make payment yourself? I used my brother’s card details and then refunded him at the rate he buys CAD with NGN. The thing you want to avoid is someone else signing for you. |
Qwertyuser:Just manage and do it. I paid the full fee in December for a family of 3 as well. Everywhere was dry thereafter (enu gbe) but my mind was at ease. |
saskatoonguy:A few things I wish IOM stated as instructions before I went: 1) Print your appointment confirmation from home so you don’t have to queue up to print at the car park. I thought a soft copy would be sufficient but it wasn’t 2) Pay for the medical before your appointment (at least one working day beforehand) and also print the proof of payment 3) When you get there, show the security men your appointment printout and you’ll be let in 4) They’ll typically direct you to the side for Canadian Medicals and you’ll meet lots of people there. Sitting down isn’t your first priority but rather approach the security personnel handling the crowd and he’d ask you to check if your name is on the appointment list (howbeit redundant). Once you confirm on his list, wait for him to give you a tally/number tag 5) Once you’ve secured your tally, you’ll see an IOM staff with laptop. You’ll need him to confirm receipt of your payment so you’ll give him your printed proof of payment (with your name as it appears on the payment form clearly indicated). 6) While he’s confirming, listen for when your tally number is called. It’s called in batches e.g. numbers 40 to 55. 7) Once you hear your tally number, you’ll stand and be directed to the registration point which is an office. This is very crucial as you’ll get the IME printout you’ll scan and upload to your PR application here. They’ll confirm your passport number, official name, take your picture, etc. The printout is key so keep it well. After registration, a staff will write the room numbers you need to go to for each medical screening but people don’t follow that. Just be strategic and do the tests with minimal queues first and go back to the longer ones. 9) Price: I’m hesitant to state in case it has changed. It was 45k+ for adults but this is clearly stated on the website so check. I hope this helps. |
dipset01:Answer truthfully. We don’t support misrepresentation here. I had a visa refusal from Canada itself and I disclosed it. |
Bilingualism:Congratulations! Wow I’m so excited for you. Really feels like someone I know got PPR. |
fisolaire:I think it means ghost update. No actions required on your part if you get it though. It just means the evaluating officer made an update on your profile. I got one recently if my description is correct. Email notification but when I logged in, there was no real update on my profile. |
Mrsibhans:What I did for mine was to prepare a checklist using the IRCC checklist and page 1 of this thread. Before submitting, I checked my checklist to make sure that every specification I wrote down was followed. You may not get someone to review your application but just take a break; do some research and make a checklist and tick off things you prepared well. |
[quote author=Mrsibhans post=119651648]Hello everyone… You don’t need a UK PCC if you’re submitting your application soon. It’s less than the period considered long stay. You can include an LOE stating why you are not including a PCC. Research the link and read up 2) You should include your bio data page. That’s very important 3) Yes, I’d also include your old passport showing maiden name. 4) IRCC has specifications for the passport photo so don’t risk it. Get the dimensions from the website and go shoot a new photo. You’d need the physical version of the passport at PPR stage so better to do it now 5) It doesn’t matter. So long as you have quality reference letter to back up the work experience. |
IwasNeverGone:I used the sample questions on the British Council portal to practice. I also watched some YouTube videos on exam techniques. That was sufficient for me and my husband. Try those practice exercises so you’ll know what areas you’re weak in and then practice, practice, practice. |
Hapikojie79:Pasting this quote from the FAQs… “Our processing times are historical, meaning they’re measured based on how long it took to process 80% of applications in the past“. Your post scared me initially because it seemed to imply that this is reflective of current processing times. It’s purely historical and we don’t know how many years average they took for that 29 months. It could be last 3 years in which case COVID would have impacted that. They’ve been doing their 6 months this year based on testimonies we’ve seen here and on other platforms. |
Prettiepearlz:In addition to his PR card, he should also give you a copy of his utility bill or something that proves he is currently resident in Canada. |
ednut1:Okay, got you. I didn’t request for reference letter from my current employer (I started working there this year) so the payslip isn’t covered anywhere else. |
ednut1:I could request that separately although it would still show that the money was recently deposited by my spouse and I. Would it be helpful to attach our payslips to evidence where the lump sums came from? My December earnings alone is about half of the POF we put into Stanbic. Do you think that would be explanatory. |
Hi All, I got my bank reference letter from Stanbic mutual funds but their standard letter doesn’t state 6 month average balance. I know people have used this in the past and just wanted to check what else they added to supplement the reference letter. My plan is to add a LOE stating the sources of the funds in my mutual fund account. Is there anything else I should consider adding? |
Dudu06:Congratulations! |

How would you recommend I categorize my NYSC year in my personal history? I saw in one of the older (closed) threads that someone recommended putting NYSC as “unemployed” but I’m conflicted because I taught during NYSC and wouldn’t want to misrepresent things. How did you guys classify yours? Also, I previously applied for Canadian visitor visa in 2015 and did biometrics then (though visa was denied). My biometric invite from this prior IRCC encounter has a Unique Client Identifier (UCI) which is required on the PR application. However, when I enter what’s written as UCI, the portal says it shouldn’t be more than 10 numbers but my old biometric form has a UCI starting with “T11XXXXXXXXXX”. That’s alphanumeric so it’s confusing. Anyone experienced this before? |
temmitats:I did a Google search for PCC online and got a number of results, none of which is the official police website. What site did you use please? |
Aniejasmine:Thank you |
Finally, ITA don reach me! I’m actually so happy we’re in the 400 range now. My score is 497 so I’m expectant. Thank you Jesus and thank you to the person who mentioned ACCA evaluation on this thread. |
temmitats:Congratulations! So happy for you, this is the type of timeline I’m praying for. |
Still glad that the number of draws increased to 4,250. I have a feeling that a small reduction like this would be followed by a big reduction. Maybe we’ll get a draw of early 490s by the next draw. |
9th feb with passport
