Never tell d bitter truth to a nigerian, he would reply u with insult and denial. Just allow him stew in his own mess. I know that harare use to be d most beautifull capital in africa, the university of zimbabwe was highly recognised and they have d best health system in subsaharan africa all before d western sanctions. They are gradually going back to their old glory while nigeria gets worse |
Peter obi said the same thing about okada in anambra, it seems governors from more humble beginning don't subscribe to all this okada banning antics. Even in china ppl still use okada in d form of electric tricycles. |
I support pointb that bad followers should not be allowed to contest in future election. Let decide on how they should be disqualified. |
How many of the so called yoruba companies were actually stolen from foreign owners during awolowo indigenisation degree as d finance minister. Besides, listing companies owned by yoruba politicians like a abiola is quite lame, how many listed igbo companies are owned by politicians. We are talking about enterprenuership not looting of public funds. |
She might lose the case if the guy have a good lawyer. There is no evidence that the guy inflicted any body injury to her. She jumped on her own, besides what is she doing at a mans house by 3am? Let's be practical, everyman would like to enjoy her honey pot if given d same chance. To me it's a non issue, i blame the girl. |
Ogugua should learn basic diplomacy, even Buhari wont give this type of speech. But lets forgive her. |
Nigeria is a forced marriage, no matter what we do, it will only get worse till we go back to the basics. Almost all of our founding fathers, from tafawa bellawa, ahmed bello, awolowo and ojukwu all said that there is no bases for unity. So i wonder how we can progress with out unity. If u tackle obasanjo for corruption, d yorubas cry foul, if u tackle Gej, igbos and south south cry foul etc. So corruption continues |
abouzaid: Ndi igbo ekene mu unu. I think we can find a middle ground by stating that any nominee whose nomination is opposed by one third of d no of ppl nominating him should be disqualified. For a example, if he is nominated by ten ppl and opposed by five by the end of nomination. Then he is disqualified. I also support that atleast 70% of all discussion should be in igbo while all office holders should be passablely fluent in d igbo language.@freeglobe, most of us are not really in knowledge of what ur referring to. Can u be more specific |

I'm igbo and living in d north and i'm highly annoyed that many igbos in d north have grown cold towards their homeland cos of d easier life they enjoy here. I can't understand why they should invest most of their profits here or fail to take their children home to continue their education. Some of them who are ashamed of going home due to their wasting d most important parts of their lives here will start telling lies to other tribes as reason they are not visiting their village. This problem is most visible among ppl from imo and abia states. A very junior female colleague at work who is an edo woman married to an abia man told me a story some months ago. She said that since she married her husband almost 2 decades ago, they have not gone to the mans village. Even d children don't know their village though they all speak good central igbo. So 2yrs ago, she told the man that they have to visit his village during the school long vacation but the man claimed his ppl will poison them once they reach d village. D wife refused saying instead that the man should simplely say he is not financially upto date as he would wish to before making d journey home. The woman finally visited with her children alone and spent more than 2 months. She told me that the husband family especially d mother was very nice to them and provided them with everything they need. The family was also not happy with the man for being an old efulefu( the man did not even bother to visit). The woman told me that this have proved to her that any igbo giving reasons not to go home is a plain liar. The only property i have here in d north that is upto 10k is my laptop. Every other kobo i make goes home to the east. I will always love anambra ppl for remembering home whenever they start making money elsewhere. |
OYINBOGOJU: Igboman are scared of the fellow Igboman when it comes to money.i can count many igbos recieving credit from other tribes and asians but i have never seen anybody grant a credit line to ur tribesmen. We all know who everybody is afraid of, cowardly betrayers. So the bizmen at onitsha, aba and alaba are doing their biz with u ? Why do u guys always make me turn tribalistic, i hate all this tribalism. |
We know d simple solution to this is to ban nomadic farming, it's not sustainable in this modern time. Anyway i would love to hear what Gowon would say on this. Maybe he would say one nigeria. |
RIP to the dead. @ifyalways, pls modify that statement, honestly i don't know exactly what i'm doing in d north. I wonder how many igbos will die in todays catholic church bomb blast. The salary is not even great here and the weather very unbearable. Next yr i'm going home for sure. |
I'm happy that Gowon have finally accepted to face d icj. I will advise his legal team to prepare to answer this questions. 1) did he approve d bombing of bombing of schools, churches, markets and other civilian targets.2) was he aware that awolowo his vice president ordered a blockade of food and drugs against biafra and went on to say that hunger is a weapon of hunger among other genocidal things which was well reported in both local and foreign news media 3) did he break the aburi accord which led to the secession of biafra. 4) was he not aware that his generals engaged in mass execution of civillians in nigerian occupied areas 5) was he not aware of the widely reported execution of over 8000 igbo young men (civillians) in asaba by general murtala muhammed even though asaba was not part of biafra, their only offense was being igbo.6) was bakassi handed over to cameroon and the aborigines displaced by him in return for implementing food and medicine blockade 7) did he not approve the 20 pounds policy of awolowo knowing fully well that will lead to a lifetime of poverty and intergenerational poverty for a region ravaged by war did he not intentionally fan d embers of division in biafra leading to the abandoned property saga that dispossessed igbos of their houses and properties they have even in the north 9) did general adekunle refuse delivery of food and medicines to the starving biafran minorities (ogoni, anang, ibibio, efik, kalabari etc) he occupied their land 10) was he aware that top government officials repeatedly said that the igbo numbers must be drastically be reduced ? This was well reported in local and foreign media which led biafra to reject a land corridor when offered out of fear being poisoned. Even d usa government d usa government begged him to allow air delivery of foods from neutral countries but he refused. He was also asked to provide inspection officials but he refused. 11) was the said josina ship owned by the red cross and caritas and did the manifest say it's loaded with relief? Or was it privately owned 12) did the clearly marked red cross air plane he shot down at calabar killing all the crew contain any single round of ammunition 13) can he stand before the ICJ and tell the world that red cross and caritas ships and air planes were being used to smuggle weapons into biafra. 14) what was the government war theme songs being played on the northern radio stations 15) was he not aware of the ongoing executions at the markudi bridge. 16) did he not execute all eastern soldiers in the north while ojukwu safely transported northern soldiers and civillians in the east. I have more to add on that list but a sunday morning is not my best time to do so. However, i won't fail to make spirited efforts to contact the ICJ office for his investigation to proceed? I hope biafran and delta igbo legal experts should do so too. |
lateef4me: PointB has conducted this election successfully for two years . I'm suggesting he shd put also contest next year and let other credible folks like Afam take charge of the election next year .why must u yorubas troll igbo threads. We did not solicit for ur suggestions. If u are observant many igbo veterans including top nominees have left nairaland over this ur annoying behavior. This website might never reach d same popularity with linda ikeji unless u ppl just mind ur lives. Don't take it as an insult, just venting out my mind. |
Ogoni militant: The truth is that why I Like Igbos some how is that they are better thieves than the yorubas. thats why igbos keep calling youdude she is igbo not yoruba, we igbos don't want to join d yorubas in e fights, as far as we are concerned a nigerian stole a purse and a bible. |
@chessboard, u can use d igbo dictionary on ur nokia phone or combination keys on ur keyboard. |
I beg my igbo brothers not to attack d yorubas over this issue. We know how annoying they can be but we must not degrade ourselves to get even. Tribal attacks and peddling of baseless stories are their lot not ours. We should show maturity by seeing d suspect as a nigerian rather than as a yoruba. Ka udo diri anyi. |
When a guy stole in a church, all of u were shouting igbo and finish him, yet ur now trying to rationalise this incident. The law states that a thief is a criminal whether he stole bible and purse or church money. He should face d music. Period |

I propose that voting should start by tomorrow and pointb should make effort to contact top nominees. Those banned remain banned |
I nominate odunnu for d post of eze nwanyi and i think that a private message should be sent by pointb to d top nominees immediately. I wish to inform pointb and other to stop responding to d ndi mba afufu we have here. That would mean derailing d thread by ur self. |
@pointb, can u send a private message to our top nominees. It seem's many igbo veterans have stopped visiting nairaland cos of d moderators tribalistic lean. Very few of this old men can this for long. |
Pls all igbos should not respond to the anti igbo comments. Pls don't fall into their trap |
Pls stop pasting u tube videos here. Some of us are browsing with nokia touch. |

did he not intentionally fan d embers of division in biafra leading to the abandoned property saga that dispossessed igbos of their houses and properties they have even in the north 9) did general adekunle refuse delivery of food and medicines to the starving biafran minorities (ogoni, anang, ibibio, efik, kalabari etc) he occupied their land 10) was he aware that top government officials repeatedly said that the igbo numbers must be drastically be reduced ?
