clemmonce: did people actually use slate to write in those days ?
Oh yes! grin I used slate in my village nursery school(nta akara) in the 80s. I was too playful and was one of the least brilliant chap in my class. Many atimes, I will score 0/10. My teacher will administer some dose of bulala on my buttock. grin Thereafter, she will force me to go home without wiping off the embarrassing score from my slate. I usually feel deeply ashamed when I treks back home to the extent that I take bush path most of those times. grin On meeting my dad at home, he will continue from where my teacher stopped. grin His own punishment will be so brutal that my mum usually pleads with him to tamper justice with mercy. But those punitive measures couldn't change me. The process usually repeats itself the next day. grin

Oh yes! Back then in my primary school. Dad forced me to memorize everything at the back cover. I hate him for that. But later loved him for his effort to enforce his will on me with iron hand.

MOBBDEEP: @ All, I'm so sorry for seeing the thread/topic late.
It's too bad the Docs in the house have been obviously too busy to attend to him.
@OP, I'm deeply moved for your friend because that issue is a real highly embarrassing psychosocial condition.
It seemed as if he's exhibiting what we call REGRESSION.
I got some questions for him :
*When did it start?
*Is there any pattern or periodicity to the misnomer?
*Can he share what his dreams are like?
*In day-time, is he able to hold urine even when he feels the urge to void?
*Does he find himself leaking some urine when he tenses/raises the intra-abdominopelvic pressure ( carrying heavy weight, farting, cheery laughter, etc ) ?
*Has he been screened for Diabetes ?
*How frequent does he urinate during the day or when awake?
*Is he passing through a major stressful condition e.g owing a huge debt, fearing someone is after his life?
*How was his toilet training skills when young?, Who trained him? & how early was he able to achieve the toilet-skills?
*If if started bedwetting from Pre-School & Toddler age, did they use to abuse/deride or ridicule him with his younger siblings etc

There are too many questions to be asked.
Try to see a Psychiatrist.
Meanwhile, you can take this drug provided you are not up to 45&above in age nor are you having any form of Cardiac / Heart disease ( Longstanding Hypertension inclusive ) :
Tab Imipramine 75mg 6pm daily for 1 month.
Then take a chart of the number of occurrences.
NB : This drug may cause Delayed Ejaculation, Hypersomnia (Too much Sleep ), Anorgasmia ( Dysphoric Orgasm ), Dry mouth, tongue & buccal mucosa etc
Let me know how you feel.
Still see a Shrink.
Too bad for you. Prescription by correspondence amount to quackery. You are no better than village patent medicine dealer who masquerades as a doctor

Sgtkoselupa: I have a native solution. The man should buy firewood and use it to generate fire. After a while, the guy should use his urine to extinguish the fire. He should do this for two weeks shortly before going to sleep. Urine go dey like fire when he is asleep. Then, bed wetting is gone.
Primitive mumu with crude solution. Hop on a tree with your fellow apes.

GboyegaD: How do you know if he is still bedwetting? IMO, I would suggest he wakes up every 45mins to 1hour at night to go empty his bladder and in a matter of weeks his body would adopt to that system and then, the case of bedwetting becomes history.
Have u tried to wake up every 45mins to 1hr in a night? undecided Try it to know how u will feel in the morning.

He needs the services of a psychiatrist. But before you involve a psychiatrist, u must help him on bladder training. You must wake him 3hourly every night to empty his bladder. He must avoid pap, custard, quaker oat, certain drugs, heavy carbohydrate foods and excess water intake before he goes to bed. I will also want to know his voiding frequency in the daytime.

AK 48: Why r people not seeing what I m seeing?

Dangote on one hand is manufacturing locally and employing thousands of nigerian graduate n school cert holder, while on the other hand ibeto is "importing" all ready made cement, indirectly employing thousands of foreigner.

Keeping sentiment aside,I think ibeto should be discouraged by fire by force against importation, let him build plants n employ us.
I don't av a job............
Does Dangote import cement? undecided
BusinessRe: Dangote Vs Ibeto: Judge Wants Single Hearing by ACM10: 2:59pm On Jul 05, 2012
gidiMonsta: Dangote is not a tribalist, he's just a very savvy businessman. Allowing IBETO to import cement and sell at lower or at the same rate with a locally produced Dangote Cement will be suicide for his investments in his local plants. Why should the FGN give import waivers to ibeto when we have local plants employing thousands of Nigerians?
Does Dangote import cement? Yes or No
BusinessRe: Dangote Vs Ibeto: Judge Wants Single Hearing by ACM10:
ebamma: una even sabi read english sef, dangote wants the import waiver to be revoked and to me i think he is right.imagine ibeto importing cement materials into the country without paying customs duty and selling it at a cheaper rate,if u were his competitor what will u have done?
The import waiver was instituted to compensate Ibeto for all those time that he was unjustly banned thereby granting his competitor an edge. So Dangote must taste his own medicine. Remember that Dangote still enjoys waiver on a whole lots of commodities. This is simply greed in action.
BusinessRe: Dangote Vs Ibeto: Judge Wants Single Hearing by ACM10: 11:46am On Jul 05, 2012
Chinom: We need more cement manufacturers in Nigeria. I do not care about what tribe the producer comes from. Cement should not sell for more than N1000.= . We do not need monopolists in such a vital product. Housing is our fundermental right.
Dangote will prefer Nigerians to live in shacks like refugees in Darfur while he pops champagne with the most affluent on this planet

ifechukwue1: dangote is a greedy extremist minded hausa man imagine. after conniving with obj. against ibeto 4 abt 4yrs dis devilish malam is nt tired of conniving May God purnish him n dat his business..,.i'll neva buy anymore of dangote goods again he's a bastard
Dangote cement aint even the best. I was reliably told by the person who is molding the exterior interlocking tiles that will be placed in my uncles compound that the interlocking tiles molded with Dangote cement dries slowly and cracks easily, no matter the quality of the mixture. He further said that the best cement to be used in that work is Ibeto cement. So high cost does not necessarily mean high quality.
BusinessRe: Dangote Vs Ibeto: Judge Wants Single Hearing by ACM10: 11:06am On Jul 05, 2012
conyema12: Why is dangote scared of competition? After monopolizing the cement industry to the detriment of Nigerians.

Why has the prices of cement not reduced as promised by our government?

Why is dangote instituting a case againt another competitor concerning import waiver even though its is supposed to be the work of the FG.

The nefarious action metted out by Dangoted via OBJ to Ibeto to ban him in 2005 resulted to colosal loss in business even after importing millions of tons of cement. I like the resilience shown by Ibeto and he was not detterred. This court case is just a minor issue for him to handle.
Dangote is simply afraid of competition and gets tetchy whenever he sees one.

Onlytruth: I laugh at those who think that any Nigerian president has REAL powers to depose an Oba of Benin.
His throne is one of FEW real traditional thrones in Nigeria. His office is not contested.
Anyone who thinks he can try to remove him is welcome to try! lol

The Oba had every right to defer to the spirits that guide him. I may not worship the same spirits, but I revere folks who are guided by spirits rather that those guided by lucre. cool
Though the president does not have power to dethrone him since his power is derived from traditional source. But he has the power to diminish his influence or even make things difficult for him. I remember when Gov. Chimaroke Nnamani had problem with Igwe of Nara Unateze in Nkanu. He devised an ingenious way to reduce his influence and prestige by dividing his kingdom into fragments and recognizing pretenders to the thrones as the trditional rulers of autonomous communities from those fragments. At the end of the day, the real Igwe was controlling only a small portion of what was once his dominion, surrounded by other hostile Igwes of the autonomous communities.

PhysicsQED: Okay, I probably shouldn't have singled out your response. I was going to comment on Bluetooth's comments, but I realized that I don't really have a reason to take him seriously.

I have yet to understand why some Nigerians think that heads of state can barge in on someone, and, when that person doesn't greet them publicly (for whatever reason) instead of privately, the person that they barged in on is the one that committed some huge social gaffe or mistake. It makes no sense to me.

It's like you guys are all reasoning backwards. It all seems to be about ethnicity (Bini or non-Bini) or politics (PDP or ACN) rather than common sense.
I'm independent, so I have no political affiliation whatsoever. Neither do I view this event through tribal lens. I'm only trying to be as objective as possible. The Oba's action is disrespectful to the office of the president. He is the Oba of Benin and subject to the power of the presidency. Some protocols needs to be waived in this circumstance. Afterall, did the Portugese give Oba prior notice in the 15th century of their coming? Disrespect is not relative and I fault Oba on this one.

Bymbolar: You are very correct guy! I was initially laughing at what somebody wrote that APCs were not used during WW I. Sadly, the guy even wrote with non-existent authority- a very poor student of History...

"During World War I (1914-1918) the British developed and used the first armored track-laying vehicles in an attempt to break the deadlock of trench warfare on the Western Front. To maintain secrecy, the vehicles were shipped to the battle zone in crates marked “tanks,” hence the origin of the name."
Young men these days hardly devote time to read history. They spends most of their time watching Nollywood junks.
