Hoodrat: The day biafra brings out a reasonable evidence to back up their claim on why they deserve independence then shall they be taken serious, but all this excuse of killing of igbo brothers in the north is not enough evidence but self centred from a group of people with little or nothing to add to togetherness and development of a better Nigeria but to their greed . More than a thousands Yoruba and other ethnics group have also been killed by the northerners but they have never for once cry for independent but seek a lasting solution to the problem. Biafra I employ you to try to be honest on your hunger for independent then will you be taken serious and the world will bow down to your feet and welcome the new state of biafra but not when you are been self centred. I support biafra departing from nigeria because its obvious one love and one Nigeria is missing with so much hunger for violence by the northerners and hunger for independent by the easterners. Naija i hail thee.Biafra does not necessarily have to bring out evidence why they have to be independent. They only have to bring the evidence that it is the wish of the people within its border to form a separate country. And that must be backed by a referendum. BTW, killing of one person is enough evidence. |
gboss4sure: U have a point but those arrangements has been made already. How did that elaborate arrangement escape my attention? These are not nocturnal arrangements. It's something serious that can lead to violence if not well-planned. |
Okija_juju: BZM does not need to be a violent group for the government to order a crackdown.. Go ask guys in Libya, Syria and Egypt..It is a crime against humanity to order a violent crackdown on a peaceful group. No international law can protect its offenders. Therefore the group can continue to exist so far they are law-abiding and peaceful. |
I've never heard of this group. Though I'm in support of Biafra seccession from Nigeria, but I will want it to be orderly. The first step should be to conduct a referendum. Followed by referendum of the ethnic minorities in Biafra to know if they plan to join or opt out of Biafra. So that we will have a case to make in front of the international community that "it is the wish of the people of Biafra to form their separate country" when violence erupts. Any step that deviates from the one above will land us in 1967 - 70 situation. I can only support war when I'm convinced that we can muster the military might to fight Nigeria to a standstill or even defeat them. But a plebiscites is a prerequisite for our seccession. If we can't conduct a referendum, then when violence erupts, Nigeria will make a case in front of the international community that they are only trying to pacify a rebel region in their territory. So I urge the Biafra Zionist Movement to use their brain and thread this path methodically. |
Toyota Avalon 2003 model is relatively fuel efficient when compared to Toyota Camry 2003 model. Toyota avalon 2003 model fuel economy www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/18755.shtml Fuel to drive 25 miles(40km) - 1.14gallon(4.3lites) Toyota camry 2003 fuel economy www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/18713.shtml Fuel to drive 25 miles(40km) - 1.04gallon(4 litres) Therefore, anyone who can fuel Toyota camry can also fuel Toyota avalon. Also, there is little or no difference in maintenance cost of both rides. So I'll go for Toyota Avalon. ![]() |

hienyimba: The truth is that the method being used by Dan is not so good.but by the way this Ibeto of a chief why should he evade taxes? And when Dangote tries to xpose him evryone goes against him forgetting that he is one of the most erudite Nigerian of our time, entrepreneur, capitalist cum industralist who has catapulted our nation to limelight, development and employment, you name it!! Well, this rumble going on is just one of the features of being an entrepreneur(tryin to stiful competition)...i just think he should change his tactics by slashin prices e.t.c (remember John D. Rockefeller who was sued for monopoly, was the richest man in history & is the reason why anything apart from petrol and gas comes out of crude oil)...I can't believe that you are the fastest of your dad's 100,000 sp3erm cells. Sometimes I wonder how dumbos like you bypassed the high rate of spontaneous abortion in the womb. Dangote enjoyed tax and duty waiver on a host of commodities including cement, while he convinced Obasanjo's administration to ban Ibeto through presidential order. Ibeto later went to court and prayed that his ban be lifted and the waiver granted to his competitor all the years he was unjustly banned be extended to him. How did that make him a thief and tax evader? Is your brain so damaged that you can't understand this simple explanation? ![]() |
samkoro: I wonder what he is going to do with his largest money in Africa. What a greed fellow. In a 1994 interview he granted a daily paper he bragged about being a core capitalist that always intends to brush competitors off his way thru price manipulation. But,rather,he does that through unconventional and unethical method. He is always afraid of Ibeto. He masterminded the seizing of Ibeto's ship loads of cement that lead to astronomical demurhage for the guy, durring OBJs regime, cos he imported so much that could crash the price of cement. The shipload was released by Yaradua,s administration after many years.Greed is cool. Afteral, greed is the driving force of capitalism. But it's greedy to brush off your competitor through government patronage. He is simply a socialist, not a capitalist. Dangote will not survive the business environment of Europe or America |
midiwifi: Dangote is a self centred egocentric nincompoop. What mo does he want in life? I guess if he has the opportunity, he will ask Nigerians to pay for the air they breathe. SMHTo be at the top of Forbes list |

Spirit1: Ordinarily I would not respond to this argument, but I am doing so because I know that mis-information can be very damaging to unsuspecting “victims”.Thanks for your timely info. Please be encouraged to comment more on health and other related topics here. You got to develop tough skin inorder comment on health issues here, especially when your path crosses with religious fundamentalists. They will insult you to the high heaven, taunt you with names such as illuminati's. But never mind! Hit them back with sound and superior argument. The amount of mis-informations floating here is shocking. Especially on health related topics. But let us play our little part to correct the mis-informations which you rightly remarked can be "very damaging to unsuspecting victims”. |
thehomer: Well when were you in university? The article I posted complains of a shortfall of cadavers. This is from the article on page 2.I graduated from "actual university" in Ghana in an inconsequential year. Well, it's not in my character to ram my personal account down your throat. You have the right to chose between Akinola's account and my own 'anecdotal' evidence. Nigeria records a high rate of extrajudicial execution of criminals. And most of them ends up in Anatomy department as a specimen for practicals. Isn't it an irony that Lagos House of Assembly is busy passing law to legalize cremation, while your "trusted Anatomy" lecturer is publishing an article complaining of inadequate supply of suitable human tissues for experiments. I hope that u also chose to believe all government publications too. It will will be a double standard for u to doubt any official(government) publication. |

shymmex: What ulterior motive are you talking about? The ulterior motive is simply to "harvest their patient organ" . Read what you posted again. Well, not every doctor complies with the ethics of the profession. That's why a patient can sue when he/she senses a breach. |
CY09: Bro, you don't need to be rude about an individual stand as regards faith n religion. Medically, you are 100% right. But for Good all things are possible death inclusive. He insulted me! I'm even polite in my response |
shymmex: Here are some examples of people who were declared brain dead, but later regained consciousness:From what you posted, the doctors seems to harbour ulterior motive of harvesting the organ of the patients involved. So the minds of the doctors were biased from the outset. And this greatly interferred with their clinical judgement. I doubt if they did the necessary examinations before pronouncing those patients braindead. Therefore your references are not good enough. |
shymmex: There are people who have been brain dead before, but later regained consciousness. Medical examination of the body anatomy is always inconclusive - I believe gave this assertion based on probability. No one can ever regain consciousness after being certified braindead by a neurologist who is worth his salt. Do u really know what they meant when someone is pronounced braindead? It means that the activity on electroencephalogram is flat, no form of pupillary or eye response can be elicited, no gag response. The patient is totally dependent on life support. Tell us more about that person that regained consciousness after being certified braindead? |
shymmex: Misleading title..If doctors confirmed him braindead, then he's truly dead. God can never heal him. |
Nowadays I see no difference between Nairaland and Sun's newspaper. Always giving threads sensational titles to drive up traffic. When did Usher's stepson became his son? ![]() |
Absolutely similar! Both are in the business of ripping off common people. |
Oh my once peaceful Jos! What art thou turning to? |
davinchi: In as much as i agree with you,i equally want to differ slightly.Alright davinchi: For a seventy year old woman alot of underlining conditions shd be considered.Ok davinchi: Heart problems inAgreed davinchi: Angina pectoralis occurs at the tail end of a heart conditionNo Sir! Angina pectoris is one of the earliest clinical manifestation of a pathology in the coronary artery. So it does not occur at the tail end of a heart condition. Myocardial infarction, congestive cardiac, etc can occur after angina pectoris. davinchi: but in some cases of long standing coronary thrombosis, when over-excitement which leads to tarchycardia is suddenly involved, death can occur within minutes because of insufficient blood pumped to the heart as a result of weak cardiac muscle due to coronary thrombosis.Do u mean atherosclerosis? I know that thombosis can occur inside the heart cavity and gets dislodged as emboli to the coronary artery. I'm yet to read about a case in which thombosis occurs in the coronary artery. The event which u described can only lead to myocardial infarction. In the situation, the patient presents with severe "agonizing" chest pain. It rarely leads to sudden death.. Pls read the comment by Nagoma. He gave a very plausible explanation of the cause of death in this elderly woman. |
thehomer: Actually, they're not overflowing with cadavers. You can follow to a recent paper that agrees with what that.I've read the link of the .pdf u posted, written by Akinola. I still maintain my ground that most Anatomy dept in Nigeria are overflowing with corpses. When I was in the university, police usually dumps 3 executed criminals(on the average) at our Anatomy department every week. Have ever read any publication by any Anatomy department in Nigeria complaining of acute or chronic shortfall of cadavers? Prof. Akinola was decrying the absence of practise in which people voluntarily agree to donate their bodies to Anatomical Society on the event of their death as they do in western countries. He's well aware that the present practice of using the body of executed criminals to perform dissections is a deplorable act in developed countries. I'm only trying to tell you what happens on an informal basis in Nigeria. Have any family recovered the body of their executed family member by the police? NO! During my Anatomy days, the pattern of execution is the same. We recover bullets from the chest of 99% of our cadavers and 99% of them are males. All of them are young people of below 35yrs. I'm telling u these things as an eye witness, not as a hearsay. Our Anatomy department has stockpile of cadavers that can serve them for 2yrs. So they are overflowing with corpses. |
