By the way, human foetus and the foetus of other mammals bears close resemblance morphologically in the early stages of development in utero. Can anyone who did embryology confirm my assertion? |
rash47: Muslims are busy giving birth to money making ventures, but Christians are busy giving birth to monkey and horse, me don taya o.You are a first class imbe.cile |
Severely deformed baby, not horse |

In front of television set at my friends house in Enugu watching as those planes were ramming into the twin towers. I was wondering if they are displaying stunts. |
ehie: thanks for your post.where can one find the professionals in Nigeria?Visit any teaching hospital near you. Or you can come to Enugu. We have Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, New Haven, Enugu and University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu. I can assure you that you will meet competent psychiatrists who can manage your case there. |
c.r.r.o:You are funny. You can't even spell the name of your local goverment correctly. I dey laff like the son of LG chairman. FYI, it's EMOHUA, not Emouha. I don't know why you should ask me to provide the list of the past LG chairmen. I can't even remember the ones from my LG. That's why I decided to ignore you. But I will give you two names. They are: 1. Mr. Emeka Woke 2. Hon. Allen Nma Which one bears your initial? ![]() I noticed that the modus operandi of fakers here is to throw childish challenge at somone. I expect you to convince us beyond doubt that you are from Ikwerre. So far, you've not done that. Your posts on this forum is less than 50(mostly on this thread), but you've been here for almost one year. So, I presume that this is the handle that you use to do hack job. This moniker is only activated for a job like this. I repeat that you are not from Ikwerre! Can you translate your comment above to Ikwerre dialect? Then can you translate this wise saying to English: "O bialu be onye a biagbuna ya" |
aribisala0: Stop smoking cannabis aribisala0: This is the Ikwerre thread are you OK?You are only fooling yourself. Why did you edit your comments? |
aribisala0: The most common mental disorder worldwide and in Nigeria are anxiety disordersI feel embarrassed that I wasted my bandwidth on you. I thought that I'm having a convo with a professional. I never knew that I was wasting my time with a wannabe. I urge all professionals and enthusiasts on the forum to painstakingly go through the links that he posted. This is why I tell people that google can't answer all your questions. This young man was arguing out of his ignorance. I was surprised when he remarked that anxiety is the leading cause of mental disorder in Nigeria. When most doctors in Nigeria cannot even make a diagnosis of anxiety disorder. Besides, he doesn't even know the difference between "case presentation" and "prevalence". Aribisala0, there is no basis for me to continue this debate with you at this point in time. You are clueless. I'm busy now. I can only peep from time to time to make my little contribution. I will be back fully in 8hrs time. |
aribisala0: The most common mental disorderToo late for you. He he he ![]() |
aribisala0: I do not have to prove you lie the onus is to prove that what you say is true. So do that and stop distraction techniques that fool no one ![]() This is disorientation in place and person. Posting our interaction on Bipolar thread on Ikwerre thread. Ol boy, time for your medication has reached. |
aribisala0: No one is fighting anyone and one does not need to be Ikwerre or Igbo or even Nigeria to have an interest in the subject.I believe the first Igbo dictionary was compiled by a white person as was the now famous excavation at NRIYou love to argue senselessly. All these while, I haven't seen you support your argument with raw fact. Yet, you are ready to tear down someone's evidence. Can we have a peep into your evidence? Why should you use "I believe"? Say it the way it is and provide an evidence to support your claim. |
aribisala0: It is not for me to tear down but for you to substantiante, that is the scholastic method and the basis of the Null Hypothesis which you might have heard about. We are yet to see your WHO studies on mental disorders in Nigeria. You have not posted any statistics. You jumps from substance abuse related disorder to anxiety as the leading mental disorder in Nigeria. Now tell me, who should be believed in this setting? You have not proven that I lied on schizophrenia case presentation in Nigeria, yet you accuse me of lying. We are here for a serious discussion. Don't impress us with your Latin skills. This discussion is about Bipolar disorder in Nigerian context. It is not about Bipolar disorder in Saudi Arabia. |
aribisala0: You see why English is a problem? You do not know what a citation is .Did i "cite" Wikipedia? NO I am not citing Wikipedia. If I did it would be clear what I am relying on from WikiIt seems like my comments has induced a manic episode of bipolar disorder in you. ![]() That's why you decided to spam this thread with your trademark senseless wrangle. So you think that the study carried out by WHO on mental disorders worldwide is more credible than that of Nigerian professionals when we talk of Nigeria? At this time, there is no basis for me to continue this debate with you. Finally, how many anxiety cases have you seen in psychiatric hospitals in Nigeria? |
aribisala0: A LEVEL DOCTORYou are not making any sense. I can't go down the route of mudslinging with you. That's your preoccupation. But have a date with me in other threads. We are here to discuss bipolar disorder. I'm a professional and I abandon my differences with other posters when it comes to threads that dwell on my profession. I swore not to permit considerations of politics to colour my my professional judgement. But you are still hurting from other threads. So you want to extract your pound of flesh on me here. Some of the best students in my class are not the best when it comes to self-expression in English language. I've told you that I don't give a fvck about what you thinks, since it subtracts nothing from my worth. Pls don't misquote me. I wrote "80% case presentation". Hope you knows the difference between "prevalence" and "case presentation"? I stand by my claim that 80% of the psychiatric case presentation to the hospitals in Nigeria is schizophrenia. Tear down my "unfounded assertion" with hard facts based on studies. |
aribisala0: Surely you know that is not a good enough way to cite data "we were told" clearly you still reason like an undergraduate. When is it a norm to cite wikipedia in an intellectual discourse? Surely you must be practicing in the moon to place substance and alcohol misuse disorders as the commonest case presentation in Nigeria. The most commonly abused substance in Nigeria is alcohol followed by marijuana. You hardly see an addict present to the hospital. It's during the treatment for other medical co-morbidities that we notices that he's hooked to a particular substance. BTW, how many drug rehab and detox facilities do we have in Nigeria? Finally, I expect you to provide the statistics of the cases of mental disorders in Nigeria to challenge the 80% data for schizophrenia put forward by me. I will most likely ignore you if your counter-argument is based on what you thought. Ehie provided the email of Dr. Onyeama, and I expect you to get in touch with him to challenge his claim that 80% of mental cases seen at the hospitals in Nigeria are schizophrenia. |
sigmundfreud: 1. There are several factors to consider in choosing a drugI agree with you 2. ECT is still used...there are indications for it.Yes, ECT is used(though rarely) in severe manic phase when other modalities have failed. My apology to ~Sissy~ and other casual observers. |
aribisala0: The usual bombastic and egregious diction laced with arrogant and ill-informed assertions ![]() I've told you that English language is not my mother tongue. I don't know why you continue to place emphasis on less important issues. Fluency in English language is not related to brilliance or intelligence. I'm a professional my dear. You are wasting your time. I will continue to receive my alert every month. I'm here to have fun, learn and impart knowledge. I'm not bothered. Feel free to correct me. My primary aim is to communicate. So far, I've achieved that goal. Finally, thanks for the correction. |
aribisala0: 80% of psychiatric disorders in Nigeria is schizophrenia. We were told on several occasions during our training. It's in my lecture and posting notes my dear. I don't know who conducted the study. But several consultants and senior regs keeps telling us that about 80% of psychiatric cases in Nigeria are schizophrenia. The preponderance of cases we saw during our psychiatric posting are schizophrenia. One of my lecturers that made reference to that figure is Dr. Onyeama. You can email him if you are in dire need of the source of the data. |
Many posters has done so much justice to this topic that there is little or nothing left for me to add. (Bi)polar disorder , just like its name sounds is a psychiatric disorder that straddles between two poles/phase. Rep. Jackson was recently diagnosed of bipolar disoder and is presently on treatment. We have: Bipolar I and Bipolar II disorders. Bipolar I disorder includes episodes of both mania(very elevated mood) and major depression. Bipolar II disorder includes episodes of both hypomania(elevated mood, but not as severe as in mania) and major depression. Conditions that predict bipolar disorder include: 1. Depression characterized by psychotic symptoms or psychomotor retardation. 2. Mania or hypomania after antidepressant drug therapy. Lithium is the drug of choice in treating mania. Lithium is used to control aggressive behaviour and enhance the activity of antidepressants. Anticonvulsants such as carbamazepine and valproic acid are also used to treat mania. P.S: Electroconvulsive therapy(ECT) has no place in the management of mania. But it can be used in severe depression when other modalities has failed! |
A-40:You are right. But Chioma is sophisticated. I expect an international figure and an Olympic gold medalist like to to buck the tradition and tell us the truth on what really happened. Truth wont hurt. Rather, hiding it will hurt. She will popularize the therapy by doing so. Thereby, creating awareness among couples with fertility challenges. |
hannydarl: Good. I hope many more get your idea and attitude too. At least your son will hopefuly treat another womans girl right. ![]() Yes, I will do my best to pass down this attitude to them when they arrive. Hopefully, they will behave likewise. |
I condemn rqpe and all forms of se><ual violence. I also condemn violence against women in its entirety. There is no justification for violence against women. Men who engages in such act are not real men. |
hannydarl: They deserve life sentence for what they did even if the poor girl had survived. So all this your long story. I hope it does not happen to your sister or mom sha.I'm a passionate advocate of women rights. I condemn the sedation, rqpe, robbery and subsequent murder of late Ms Cynthia Osokogu in its strongest term. My aim on this thread is to highlight an aspect that must have led to the death of Ms Cynthia which no one talks about. In the process, inform and educate casual observers. |
JANK23H: In case you didnt know,You must have smoked strong weed. |
Stevecares: Hello Doc. Am a newly registered member. I don't really know where to type my question. Please, I am 28yrs old, male. On july 1st, I was cut in anxiety over the outcome of an incident that really troubled me. I noticed my heart beat pounding, but I overlooked it. Maybe it subsided after that day, because I never paid close attention to it...but i was so worried and stressed with thoughts about the sad incident, even at work. It persist for over a month-plus. Now, is September, I just checked my blood pressure, reading over 140-7. And my heart beat pounds. Am also having malaria and typhoid fever, and feeling a blockage in my throat(just feeling, no swell or pain). My doctor prescribed Lexotan, Corbis and Asomex drugs for me (BP). But am scared of the side effects because am only 28yrs. I wish i could try other natural therapy to treate it, like relaxation and lifestyle. Can it help? Please advise me, I don't want to get any worse. ThanksYou are having a condition known to the psychiatrist as panic attack. It's part of anxiety disorder. I love the way you described your symptoms. Going by your history, I will most certainly make a diagnosis of panic attack. It's a very troubling condition that mimics heart disorder. The next diagnosis that comes to my mind is a heart disorder that laymen calls heart attack. That explains why your doctor prescribed Lexotan, Corbis and Asomex. But your symptoms could not subside. It could not even alter the progression of your symptoms. Your systolic blood pressure is a little bit high. But I as a doctor will not be worried by it. I wont even place you on anti-hypertensive drugs. It can be controlled with dietary and lifestyle modification. The raised BP might be due to the fact that you are worried by your "strange" condition. Who ordered for the test for typhoid and malaria? I don't believe that they are your major problem. I will advise you to visit any teaching hospital or a psychiatric hospital and request to see a psychiatrist. The history that you've just descibed is well-known to them. I promise you that you will recover after you were placed on some medications. I repeat, visit a psychitrist! Don't feel shy to visit them. You don't have any mental disorder. It's not only people that has mental disorder that visits a psychiatrist. Pls do come back here to share your experience(s). Cheers |

King Solomon I: i wonder what the ultimate price is my brother.... . .sacrificing his life for Nigeria. Just like Aguiyi Ironsi |
Easier said than done. Can he pay the ultimate price for Nigeria? I doubt! Only f00l does. |
