I've been following this story for sometime. All I can deduct from this, is that the op is just advertising jesus. The story is a complete fable, make up, not real, fabricated. U don't have to go to this extent before people will believe in your preaching. Fear cannot draw people to salvation. pls stop this. I'm not disputing ure being haunted but ure embellishing and exaggerating the whole thing. Merry christmas to all.

Redlyn: The purpose of creation was because:
- he was bored with just him and his son and the spirit
- he has a big ego that needs to be constantly stroked so he needed play things to adore, thank and praise him constantly before, during and after doing anything. After all what is the point of power and greatness if no one / nothing is there to appreciate it.
- the world is a testing ground to see the best at adoring him so that they would be the few to keep him company in heaven. Those that are not so good at that are severely punished. the importance of this was made very clear in his first 3 commandments
- also he wanted his son to have something important to do like save us from himself. besides his son was bored of the peace in heaven and wanted a field trip.
- he thought it would be funny to watch the confusion in his creation as each one of them had their own idea of how to get to heaven or even if there was such a place. there is only so much space so only few should get it right. it would be too crowded if he was more clear
- he wanted to see how many would seriously fall for the story of the winged horse and many virgins
- there are other purposes but we cant know them because of how mysterious his ways are.
Are u really serious or just joking. U assume that GOD is really bored and looking for friendship , to show his ego, and exercise his power. This earth is a testing ground. Nawa oooo

lanrexlan: The reason for your existence is worship.Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Ad-Dhariyat 51:56 -And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). Now,this is the purpose of your creation
Why is GOD thirsty and hungry of human worship. If human did not worship him will he cease to exist, will he become powerless, will he be less omnipotent. Before creation of Adam has he not being existing.
Christianity EtcRe: What Was Gods Purpose In Creating Humanity by acorntree(op):
@olachi.Quaran support the bible on the story of creation. The only contradiction is that the bible says Adam was created on earth, in the Garden of Eden(genesis 2:cool, while quaran says Adam was created in paradise '' janna'', not on earth and he and his wife were later banished to earth quaran 2:36. Jew bible which is old testament also support creation. Budhist writtings on creation does not exist. Buddhism emphasizes practices over beliefs . Buddhism faith centers on correct understanding of human nature (enlightement).

Too many man made ideologies. Religious dogmas have even complicate the whole issue. Religion are pure human imagination and assumption. Everything seems like conspiracy theorem to me. Do I ve to wait till death till I know the reason for my existence?

Why is lives full of so many mysteries? Why is our existence so complicated? Why do we have to search for meaning in our lives? Why do have to find ourselves in a hopeless predicament? Why do GOD not make things simple for us and easily understandable . Is GOD hidding some things from us?Despite advancement in science and technology man has not been able to findmeaning for their existence.

Emusan: Op you made a mistake.
Firstly, Universe was not contaminated with sin and chaos not untill Adam sinned.

UNDERSTAND THE FALL OF MAN
When God created everything and declared them "good". Then shortly Satan reasons within himself to be like God and have his own dominion but forgotten that he is a created being. God has to allow time to pass to show that he can never be like Him. God then cast satan out of heaven. When satan met with Eve, he raised two accusation against God which require a time to settle not a game between God and Satan but just to tell satan that he is a created being.

1) Satan called God a liar: how? Satan told Eve "you will not surely die" of which God has given them instruction that any day they eat from the tree "they will surely die". Here Satan was trying to play a good boy in his statement "I'm the one telling you the truth but God is lying to you"
When Adam and Eve died, didn't that prove that God is the one telling the truth and that Satan is the one lying? Actually I did. But there is more to Satan's challenge.

2) Satan said man can be better of without God's rulership: how? Satan told Eve "God knows that the day you eat the fruit, your eyes would be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad" Can you see that? The best way God can allow Satan to prove his point os to allow time to pass...when Adam and Eve hearken unto the voice of satan thinking truly they can live their lives without God be in control...God then polluted the universe and allow satan and man to battle with it maybe they can bring it back to a perfection like it was after creation.

God has already condemned satan and his angels into eternal destruction but man can be part of satan's angel when living under the two delusion of satan that brought man down. God has prepared a means for those who loved Him and ready to obey His commandment and He has chosen a day to destroy satan and all his angels(including human who he acquired as angel).

Do you want to escape this destruction through God's only begotten Son who He has chosen to reconciled everyone who obey Him to Himself or you want to be part of destruction by becoming one of the satan angel? The choice is yours!

Shalom!
Who created satan? Is it not GOD himself. Is satan not among the fallen angel. How come satan suddenly become more powerful than GOD.If every GODs creation is ''good'' where does satan evolve from. if heavenly being(satan) can sin who are we. Why do GOD have to pollute the earth and allow satan to destroy his work. why must human suffer for things they do not know anything about. Why are animals excluded from the everlasting condemnation.
If GOD is LOVE. I hope love should encompasses both evil and good. Why do GOD condemn the evil and reward the good

spyroet: to my own idea i think God is testing all of us to see who is realy rightous and to see if anybody can be like him, God created man in his own image and likeness, he gave us wisdom and understandin to know good from bad. So God is not punishing us at all.
Why must GOD test us inorder to know whelther we will be righteous or not. Are we not created in his image. Is he not the Alpha and Omega. If his will for us is to go to heaven why not leave us in our spirit being . Why must we pass through the earthly form. Why can't he deal with devil in heaven
Christianity EtcWhat Was Gods Purpose In Creating Humanity by acorntree(op): 4:35pm On Dec 22, 2013
Why did GOD create human beings into a universe already heavily contaminated with sin?
Why did GOD create human race?
The human race is not responsible for sin. Sin was already present in the universe when GOD created Adam and Eve. Satan and his angels had been sinning for some period of time, maybe a very long time, before Adam and EVe were created.
Why didn't GOD solve the sin problem with the angels? After all, that's where the sin problem started.
Why was the human race drawn into this mess. We didn't ask to be here. Not a single one of us asked to be born. And we certainly didn't ask to be born sinners. I don't mean that babies are born sinning, I just mean that, as the bible says''ALL have sinned.....roman 3:23
Why did GOD created Adam and eve perfect and then put satan right in their neighbourhood?
If GOD really didn't want Adam and EVe to sin, why did GOD place the tree of knowledge of good and evil right in their living room where they had to pass by it everyday?
Also, why did GOD create a single tree that contained the knowledge of both good and evil? In other words, why did GOD combine good and evil in the same tree?
Before adam and eve sin is there any biblical record that they ever praised GOD?
Before they sinned, did Adam and Eve understand what a magnificient garden GOD had given them for their home?how could they, they had never experienced anything else.
Before they sinned, did Adam and EVe understand what good health was? How could they, they had never been sick. They had never seen disease nor death in anything-----not in humanity not in animals, nor in plants..Adam and Eve could not appreciate any of these things because they had never known anything other than perfection.

The man must have been a very wicked person for his students to have wrote something like this about him

OPEN LETTER TO OOU VC
July 12, 2013 by Mayowa

OPEN LETTER TO OOU VC FROM
THE STUDENTS OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY AND
PSYCHOLOGY, OOU
PLEASE SAVE US FROM THE
EXTREME WICKEDNESS OF MR
SEGUN ONABANJO

The purpose of this letter is mainly to
seek for your assistance in helping us
expose the inhuman activities of a
lecturer in the Dept. of Sociology and
Psychology, Olabisi Onabanjo
University before it gets out of hand.
The concerns of many students who
are very suspicious and tired of
organized corruption and unwarranted
cruelty by just one Lecturer (Mr Segun
Onabanjo) holding the whole
department to ransom.
Right from time we were admitted into
OOU till date, we have witnessed so
many cases of most of our seniors
being frustrated, demoralized and
delayed (NYSC) for years for no good
reason by the ways and manners at
which he dishes out capital
punishment on innocent students and
we wouldn’t wait till we also fall victim
before we speak out. Funny enough,
he takes pleasure in doing so because
he liked to be categorized among
sadistic lecturers of all times and he
openly brags about that. He (Mr Segun
Onabanjo) has been in control of all
our results for 5years now and he has
always sticked to his cruel habit of
intentionally delaying at least half of a
whole set every year till date by
holding on to their results so that it
would be absolutely impossible for
them to go for their NYSC and thereby
enriching his own pocket.
To make his works easier, he wouldn’t
paste the results on the notice board
for everyone to see, sometimes he
would intentionally paste it one day to
the exam of that particular course, he
would ask everyone to come to his
office after which he would ask for our
matric numbers and then read out the
results and references from his laptop
(that is if he so wishes to). By so doing,
he makes it hard for students to
pinpoint errors in order to push for the
corrections of errors made on their
results and on time before getting to
their final year and whatever he says
in the Dept. goes. He uses this
opportunity to make more money and
get back at students who have issues
with him while in school or those that
wouldn’t want to give out bribes for
the “upgrading” of result. It’s a well-
known fact that that he extorted a
total sum of 50, 000 naira from about
40% of those he cleared for service last
year November 2012,he has an agent
who collects the money on his behalf,
they (2011 set) all can testify to that.
We are all at the mercy of Mr Segun
Onabanjo because he seems to be the
only “god” that everyone looks up to
and feared. For fear of reprisal attacks
by his lecturer cabal no one is ready to
physically lodge a complaint at the VCs
office. If you press him too hard for
correction of results and report to the
highest authority he would add more
to your references and make it look as
if you actually had those references
since the result was not pasted. We
see so many of our seniors coming all
the way from Lagos to “beg” and
“weep” for their right and we can’t
help but wonder if the same fate also
dangerously awaits us, are we also
going to be made to suffer for noting
like them.
Many of them have written a letter of
complaint to him for corrections of
mistakes made on results but instead
of treating it, he intentionally adds
more to their references or he treats it
and later on add another set of
references to it again so that you are
trapped forever until he decides to
release them at his own free will. They,
as usual, always write to the
appropriate authorities every year but
“as usual” he comes up with a ready-
made excuse. “The laptop I use for
your results is faulty I need some
money for the repair” and then in
retaliation, he adds more to everyone’s
references at will, mind you, he cleared
a little few of those were able to meet
up to the terms of payment, with that
same “faulty” laptop most of which
were well known dullards destined for
an automatic extra year. He would
clear every one of them and allow
them to go for service at the detriment
of other innocent students. To support
our claims, ask for a probe into the
results of the following students of
2011 set that were cleared for NYSC
last November and you would be
amazed ASHAJU KWAM, ALAUSA
LATEEFAT, SHODIPO TOSIN, ETIWON
ADESHINA, OGUNSANYA MONISOLA,
KASALI JAMIU, ODUBANJO KEHINDE,
ALONGE HASSAN, OLAWUNMI ENIOLA,
KEHINDE ADEYEMI, AJALA BUKOLA,
SALISU OLAMILEKAN, FAKOWAJO
LAWRENCE, YEYEJIDE KUSORO,
OLUWOLE KAYODE, BALOGUN QUADRI,
RISIKAT OLUWATOYIN, EHINMORE
RACHEAL, OGUNKOYA OLUWASEUN,
FEMI(Surname not yet verified), and
DABOTA JANE. Everyone in the
Department is aware of this but they
are all afraid to come out and speak.
*NOTE: The most disgusting part of the
whole saga is that: six of those listed
above (Etiwon Adeshina, Alausa
Lateefat, Ashaju kwam, Shodipo Tosin,
Salisu Olamilekan, Ogunsanya
Monisola) are very famous empty
barrels who prior to their graduation,
were humbly anticipating an extra year
but fortunately for them the magician
lecturer made them scale through ; we
are made to know from our
investigations that: one of those listed
above is yet to complete his project,
two(Olawunmi Eniola and Shodipo
Tosin) are his well-known girlfriends.
So many lives have been destroyed.
So many have been delayed for years,
some four years; some three; so many
brilliant students are always at the
Department begging him even though
everyone knew that it’s impossible for
them to have any reference. This man
has to be stopped or better still, an
outsider must be called to take charge
of the results because even the H.O.D
cannot look him directly in his face and
ask him to step down. They are all
afraid of him. We wouldn’t wait until
it’s our turn to suffer!

GOD BLESS YOU SIR

I put my trust on a nairalander here only to be scammed later. A nairalander was advertising one portable car tyre pumping machine. I read through his thread and because of some good comments made by some members believed in him. I called him and we make a deal that I'm interested in buying it. I even asked him if he sure of what he is claiming the equipment can do which he assured me.we agreed to meet somewhere in lagos and i contacted him. Due to busy nature of lagos whenever I called him on phone he will say he is coming and he will soon meet me. I waited for almost 4 hours. I've even started feeling impatient when he arrived and he apologised for coming too late.He came with his car(not sure if he is the owner)and he instructed me to enter which I did(since I know he can't overpower me). The transaction now begin. he demonstated how to use the equipment in his car. I inspected the equipment and i was doubting if it can work as described by him. I now told him to let us get out of his car inorder to connect it to his car type . He started giving excuses that the parking space in which he parked his car is just for short time, and that the bank security man have even instructed him not to park there. Is it that I'm not trusting him, that he is good member of nairaland , even if I'm having any problem with the equipment I can return it back to their company. With faith I collected the equipment ,paid him and leave only to get home to discovered that the equipment is fake. It can not even pump a ball talkless of a car tyre. The worst part is whenever I called he is always claiming he is busy.

EducationRe: LASU now gives outdegrees after poorly prepared, multiple choice exams by acorntree(op): 9:01am On Nov 24, 2013
EducationLASU now gives outdegrees after poorly prepared, multiple choice exams by acorntree(op):
All that is required of part-time
students at the Lagos State
University, LASU, is to answer a set
of 70 multiple choice questions
every semester to be awarded a
Bachelors degree, PREMIUM TIMES
has learnt.
In what one university professor
described as a "dangerous
development" in the already poor
standard of university education in the
country, LASU earlier this year directed
all lecturers at its part-time campuses
scattered across Lagos to henceforth
set only multiple choice questions for
all examinations.
Copies of some questions seen by this
newspaper suggest that the questions
were haphazardly put together with
irregular numbering, ridden with
grammatical and sometimes factual
errors. It is devoid of the standardised
quality associated with public multiple-
choice examinations.
There seems to be no effort made by
the university to control and manage
the standard. Invigilation during the
examination was lax, if any at all, we
learnt. Examination halls were so
crowded that some students did their
examination standing in many of the
campuses.
Though results were released in record
time, there were several cases of
missing results.
Al-Amin Alli-Balogun, the President of
the Students' Representative Council,
SRC, said many results were posted in
the wrong campuses. After several
days of searching, some students at
the Agege campus saw their results
posted at Festac campus. Rather than
being an exception, it was the norm
across all campuses, he said.
"The MCQ [multiple-choice questions]
have been able to curb the issue of no
results, missing results and the
excesses of lecturers," he admitted.
However, he described the introduction
of multiple choice questions only as a
"disgusting moment" in the history of
the programme. He said the school
management only introduced it to
deceive students that something is
being done to correct the anomalies of
the programme.
"We don't have qualified lecturers; the
LASU management is only doing this to
deceive the students that the
programme is changing while it is
actually decaying the more. Mass
failure is still an issue. Students don't
have proper records of the examination
they have taken before or the one they
should be taking next," he said.
One student at the Antony campus
described the quality of the printing
papers the questions were printed on
as similar to what one sees during
secondary school mock examinations.
Paradoxically, the examinations were so
substandard that some enterprising
students kicked against the
development to the point of openly
protesting against it to lecturers,
PREMIUM TIMES was told.
A former student leader of the
programme, Julius Adeoye, highlighted
other problems with the examination:
"The literature department, for
instance, write exams based on the
books they've read. We have different
lectures with different books
recommended but are required to
answer the exact same questions. How
do you expect students at the Jibowu
campus, for instance, to answer
questions on a text that wasn't
recommended to them but was
recommended to students at the
Festac campus?
"Writing OMR will not even allow the
students to grow because I can easily
copy and paste but if I'm required to
write theory [essay type questions]
there is no way I can copy everything
from another student. Students don't
even attend classes anymore they just
show up for examination knowing they
can easily copy the answers of other
students," he added.
But LASU management said its
adoption of the multiple choice
questions only for part-time student
was the best solution to the horde of
problems bedevilling the programme.
"For those who know how to develop
the content, multiple choice is a better
assessment than theory," said aide to
the university's Director of External
System, Dayo Akinshola.
"Multiple choice is not an innovation in
Nigeria, as far back as the 1970s
multiple choice has been in existence.
If anybody is against it, it is one of
three reasons: one, the person is lazy
and doesn't know how to set the
questions. Secondly, the person
doesn't want to relinquish his power of
oppression because with multiple
choice questions you're not going to
have contacts with the students again
and thirdly for whatever reasons, the
person wants to frustrate certain
people and he knows with multiple that
will not be possible. The benefits are
endless so whoever doesn't understand
the concept must belong to one of
those three categories," Mr. Akinsola,
who said he has over 20 years
experience as an academic, said.
He said lecturers who criticise the
introduction of the multiple choice
questions are bitter because the
university has effectively plugged their
means of extorting students. He also
denied that the examinations were
conducted in overcrowded rooms. He
challenged any student with proof to
present it.
However, prominent academics in the
country disagree with Mr. Akinsola on
the superiority of the multiple choice
questions as a means of assessment.
Despite their ability to cover wide areas
of the subject matter, multiple choice
questions fall short of assessing the
skills that makes a "total graduate,"
said Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, a former
Vice-Chancellor of the University of
Lagos, UNILAG.
"It is not sufficient. It falls short of
examining all the aspects that are very
critical to the making of a graduate.
When people finish they will be faced
with actually writing up opinions in a
very legitimate literate version. So we
need to teach them the concept of
composition; of writing," Mr. Ibidapo-
Obe, a Professor of Applied
Mathematics and Engineering Systems,
said.
"I think it is a dangerous development
as it may not be able to fully assess a
student's performance," said Professor
Akii Ibhadode of the University of
Benin, UNIBEN.
He advised that a mixture of multiple
choice questions and essay type
questions can be useful up to the
second year level but not further than
that.
The National University Commission,
NUC, spokesperson, Ibrahim Yakassai,
said universities have been directed to
desist from setting entirely multiple
choice questions. He promised that the
commission will investigate and stop
LASU from continuing with the practice.
Theses for sale
The LASU part-time programme is a
thriving auction for the sale of results
and theses, PREMIUM TIMES can reveal.
The sale of theses, we discovered, are
so widespread that lecturers now
brazenly ask students to pay into their
bank accounts and present copies of
tellers as proof of payment. Students
are required to pay as much as
N50,000 before their proposals are
supervised or up to N150,000 to have
one written for them by the lecturers
themselves.
Female students are given
considerable discounts if they
agree to sleep with lecturers.
A student, who asked not to be named,
at the Jibowu campus said he knows
lecturers who merely give part-time
students theses written by full-time
students and ask them to be reprinted
with the names of part-time students.
Another student at the Festac
campus said he paid because
everyone else was paying.
"You don't expect morality from where
immorality looms. When lecturers are
not paid you don't expect them to
behave professionally. Imagine LASU
just paid lecturers three days ago
[October 30] for salaries that have
been due for over two years. How do
you expect them to survive if they
don't engage in immoralities and
misconducts," said Mr. Alli-Balogun.
Mr. Akinshola said any lecturer who
indulges in malpractices under the
pretext of owed honorarium is just
being dishonest. He said lecturers are
paid on time. He explained that the
only lecturers who were not paid were
those from the School of
Communication because they were
ripping the university management off.
"The only honorarium that was delayed
and paid two days ago was the one for
the School of Communication. They are
the people saying all these kinds of
rubbish. We know their antecedent. We
know their stock in trade. We are not
going to bleed our eyes over 1400
students when we have 50,000
students elsewhere. These are people
who see it as a means of enriching
themselves. They are busy inflating the
amount they want to collect and the
university management in its own
wisdom said no.
"The issue was investigated by the
director and at the end of the day it
was discovered that the university has
been thoroughly ripped off. They were
forced to revert to the norm and once
they complied they were paid. That
money was processed within two
months. If they had complied two years
ago they would have been paid their
money. They were asking to be paid
the money that they never had." The
spokesperson said.
He said the school management has
already come up with plans to stop
extortions of students by lecturers but
declined to say what these plans are.
He said any student who pays for his or
her theses to be supervised or written
is doing so at his or her own risk.
An image tarnishing programme
The disorderliness of the examinations
and in fact the entire part time
programme indicates that the
university management is doing
everything to rid itself of a programme
with a long history of malpractices as
quickly as possible.
Following report of widespread
malpractices soon after the part-time
programmes were relocated from the
university's main campus in Ojo into
poorly equipped campuses across the
state, things spiralled out of control.
The programme was over taken by a
hostage mentality. The university
management, lured by the high fees
paid by the students, admitted more
students than it could handle. Because
regular lecturers couldn't cope with the
rigour of teaching regular students as
well as part time students, the
university management resorted to
employing part-time lecturers, many of
whom are secondary school teachers
without any experience in teaching at
the tertiary level. Worse, they were not
properly monitored or mentored as one
would have expected. They were left to
their own devices.
Frustrated by delayed payment of
honoraria, many of these part-time
lecturers resorted to brazen-faced
extortion of students. Results were
withheld for close to two years by some
lecturers. For instance, results of some
English Language examinations written
in June 2012 were released in October
2013. Saddened by rampant
malpractices, many full-time lecturers
washed their hands off the programme.
Worried that incessant scandals
associated with the part-time
programme was going to irreparably
tarnish the university's reputation, in
2011, the State government scraped

God1stson: I think u hav d premise to argue ur point.I can understand hw u feel, after dealing with those heavy calculations u would xpect d society 2 reward u.The trut is that those calculations are rubish compared 2 realities on ground. The Nigerian soc. of engineers knows about this, yet are not doing anytin 2 change the statosque. If I'm made d minister of eduation,i will make mechanic village, technical sch GTC, phone repairers, bricklayers, electricians, carpers and d lot 2 have B.tech nd city n guide.u can only get
Btech is not meant for phone repair, bricklayer, carpenter and co. Degree is much more than that.its bec of ur ignorance ure typing all this rubbish above. All these people are called artisan and craftwork. It takes only primary school leaving certificate to be an good artisan

Gamji007: You are wrong my friend. That is a general misconception and problem with most engineering graduates in Nigeria. You believe holding spanners and screwdrivers are not meant for you, whereas engaging in such practical work could make you improve on your skills and make you relevant in everywhere you find yourself especially in a country like Nigeria, where Engineers,Technicians,Foremen, electricians, roadside mechanics etc are all considered the same.
In a saner economy engineers are trained to design and technician, elecrician, mechanics are to look after technical equipment and do practical work like repair. due to lack of job an engineer could downgrade to be a technician but that does not mean engineers are to become road side mechanic as uve descibe above

indomitable234: If engineers are the most unemployed graduates then its all their fault,as an enginneer,u shouldn't bee looking for job, instead u should be providing jobs, let's break it down
Elect elect grad...u can work on ur own as an electrician,do house wiring, work as a communication engineer, get into the field of networking, fiber optics etc
Mechanical eng.....u can start on ur own by fixing cars engine, generators
Civil engineering,u can start on ur own as a building contractor
These jobs u mention above are not meant for engineers they are for technician. Why go and spend 5yrs in a uni to end up as an electrician or engine repairer

eyitayoemmanuel: Thanks everyone for your comment. My fear is that once a man cannot provide for his family, he gets frustrated at every small issue. Dont want my case ending like the guy who butchered his wife over a similar issue cos my husband is beginning to get frustrated cos I complain more these days. At times he feels bad about the whole situation but I think he's just pretending otherwise he would have done something about it.
Let him get frustrated if that will solve the problem. I can see ure living in constant fear. U don't want to hurt him. If he sincerely feel bad as uve said he should at least try his best but from all indication he is a lazy man.
