I just found out what killed my battery, the inverter itself. Due to high float charge.

The inverter spec says 13.75vdc while standard for gel battery is 13.05vdc.

It hurts. I will write them a mail to suggest what i should do with the inverter or stop using a gel on it. AGM battery would have been suitable for that kind of float charge but i would never buy that since its more expensive. Flooded battery would not have been so much hurt, i may consider it for my next battery except for the fact that its not suitable to be indoors.

That is not taking temperature in consideration.

therein lies ur problem, battery has been overcharging. either ur inverter doesn't have an intelligent charging system or the battery is expired. here u will need a load tester to perform load testing on that battery and consult the inverter manual to ensure it has the 3phase intelligent charging module. power/flood charge from 0-90%, trickle charge to 100% and then the float charge to maintain 100%

I just found out the real cause of my overcharged battery, its the inverter.

The picture below show that my mercury inverter spec has a 13.75vdc float charge while the recommended float charge for a gel battery is far less at 13.0vdc.

Mercury no try for me o. My next battery is definitely going to be flooded if am to use this inverter.

Just one. I has a bulge on its casing, research says its overcharging over time. Power supply is good in my area so only gets drained may be once in 3months usually when we have a fault.

I have seen Mercedes-Benz, Vw and Peugeot pull several times. In fact in toyota it affects 4runner most. Yes i have seen more in honda accord than any other car but have never seen on any Civic

Do you do only mercury batteries?

Am not sure if its my Mercury inverter or the Deka Solar battery. I think its the battery but the problem is seriously erratic.

Last week during a power cut, it lasted 7hrs but this afternoon i was shock that it went from full bars to battery low alarm and even cut off within seconds of power cut.

Once power came back battery went from 0 bar to 3 bars within a minute. I turn of the supply and from 4 bars to 1 in secs.

Just yesterday it worked for over an hr without droping 1 bar. Dont understand whats going on. Unfortunately, i lost my multimeter.

Secondly, your price is not attarctive enough. My friend was given a car battery swap deal for 23k or 17k with dead battery. Imaging the 6k for dead 65Ah car battery and 10k for 200Ah deep cycle battery. 85 to 90k is a good deal for 200Ah.

There are 5 screws 3top/2bottom and 5 snap-in clips on 1 left, 1 right and 3 below the unit. With 3 top screws and 5 snap in clips, there wont be any vibrations.

The access to the 3 screws above is just one trim with 6 clips but the 2 screws below, even the storage compartment underneath must give way and and 4 screws/dozen clips before access.

Besides, he has a 6 loader that easily jams, by the time those trims are removed 2 to 3 times without carefulness, one or more will be broken especially the trim surrounding the gear selector.

Mine got broken on the second attempt. Those guys are quick to make bucks so will not care.

Trip A is just a trip counter, the odometer is different but accessible from same place. Push the knob to cycle display through trip A, Trip B and others until odometer displays.

If CEL came on after driving then the problem must have been existing before the car was shipped or a part was stolen. Its possible battery terminals were disconnected during shipping which cleared the codes. Some more serious codes will show even before engine starts while others will show after driving.

Maintenance reqd light means the car is due for service or the car was serviced without resetting the light.

Rewire will remove the unit for you then you take the audio unit to an electronics repair shop for soldering. The shop should remove the audio unit from the display and access the circuit board since that is usually their field.

I hope you have your radio code in hand.

Note that you need skilled rewire to remove that audio system for the first time. Alot of parts come off first because there are screws under the audio/hvac unit. I would advice you dont reinstall these screws for next time. If you replace them, the whole process must be repeated each time you have to repair anything. Alternatively, you can find out from a reputable toks car dealership where they repair dashboard problems. Dealers usually fix everything in cars before selling them. They must have one who does.

The disadvantage is that it becomes more accessible to burglars.

Its an EX trim that is 6 loaders. The buttons don't light up at night any longer even the AC buttons too. Only thing lighting up is the LED display. Pls help

There is a small resistor that is bad which you need to replace or jump. R797

Its like a fuse and has blown out. If replacing, make sure its not more than the 2.3A written on it.

You will need access to the audio system circuit board.

My former colleague got himself in trouble one time that i saved his job.

He is always sent to pay for internet service with spectranet. We usually pay for 70GB which is over 20k but he realised after some of our expertriates travelled for a long time, the data is not exhausted and expires.

So he decide to pay 14k for 40GB or so. The issue was that he paid the 14k for 40GB but was not activated because the former wasnt expired. Unfortunately for him, he took a 1 day leave of absence from office on the fateful day the old subscription ended. I was told our old subscription has expired, however we have 14k in the account. The agent asked me if he should activate 40GB for us i said no thinking there is a problem that the amount should be above 20k. Also, the invoice he brought read the correct amount. I told my boss the problem thinking they made an error. My boss directed me to drive to the agents office and clarify all issues. After driving out, i thought that something is wrong somewhere. Asked the driver to stop, called my other colleague back in the office to go out and tell me if she knew anything, she didnt know anything from the transaction. I took 30mins without moving trying to call this guy until at last i got him. He immediately began begging that i should not expose him.

We later warned him never to do that on his own again. He got too greedy, if he had shared the idea and shared the money, he would not be begging for his ass like he is doing. I told him go and sin no more. I went to a restaurant to eat early launch while he called his accomplice in the spectranet office to activate the small data before returning, told boss everything is fine now.

You are getting good value for money but should note the following:
1) Car /trailer batteries are for cranking and not built to be deeply discharged as deep cycle batteries, hence it wont last.
2) Your batt performance will rapidly drop if you keep draining it completely
3) Is your Mercury inverter PURE sine wave If not (as i suspect) you stand at risk of damaging your sensitive electronics.

1 and 2 okay but 3. Modified sine wave won't damage anything, it wont work with somethings such as Hp inkjet printers.

LX or EX trim? Thats is, 1 or 6 loader?

Is the display visible in the day or not?

Is the audio system working or not?

Both have the same problem and even worst. It happened to my 1 loader (LX), the problem is from the audio system circuit board.

Mine was worked on by soldering a certain part of the board. The 2 boards are different.

One bad thing about timing belt is you will be wondering why the car stopped and continue to crank the engine, by the time you are done, all your valves are gone.

I have experienced this problem twice and would not mistake it next time.

It is usually too sudden that you know exactly what happened.

Whichever way, I don't think it is sensible for a CBN convoy to do that to an elected governor. Can they try that with a convoy of soldiers?

The ones in the bus are not police but CBN staff.

Also, i have overtook convoy of soldiers several times. They dont block the road.

This is where i dont agree.

Have you heard of instrument error or tolerance? One speedometer can be accurate to the nearest 0.1km/h but another may be accurate to 0.01km/h. This will create an error that one car will pass another.

100.1km/h is not the same as 100.001km/h. This is what instrument error can cause.

Secondly, speedometer reading errors. A car like 2006 Honda accord with digital speedometer will be far more accurate than a car with analog dail speedometer. Physics practical errors included parallax errors especially with reading dails. A digital speedometer eliminates parallax and other errors.

For example, when live scanning my car, the RPM on the dash remains very stable at 800rpm but in the live scan, it never stays at exactly 800rpm. It constantly changes between 798-802rpm.

This is also true for the speedometer, when i think am at exactly 100km/h, the live scan will be more precise showing me either more or less say 98km/h or 102km/h.

I have also used GPS speedometer. A GPS is more accurate when it connects to as many satelites as possible, the fewer the less accurate.

Hypothetically, 100km/h in car A is the same as 100km/h in car B assuming no errors. Ofcourse there are errors.

Everyone knows numbers are 1, 2, 3 ...... Like kids think, when they grow further they are thougt fractions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. So the fact that speed is speed is true but there are other things you need to take account when you go into testing for speed.

The highlight in the screen shot is the issue am talking about.

How can a sane governor for whatever reason stop a CBN convoy for attempting to overtake him.

One thing i know about CBN bullion convoy is that they never pass 100km/h and no one overtakes them. When i meet themi park, when the show behind me i speed up.

For this convoy to meet the governor, his convoy was really slow and refused to give way. If i were the CBN driver, I would do same or even worst.

I know all this basics as I was a science student in school and I taught physics during my NYSC.

The question is if two cars A and B are going at same speed in motion (they are already in motion side by side not just starting from rest) will one pass the other if they are both at same speed.

In basic physics the answer is no but in advance physics the answer is yes, let me use a general rule in physics as example.

The gravitational speed is 9.8ms so if you throw two objects from the top of building, the gravitational pull will be 9.8ms so they are expected to reach the ground at same time but it's not always so as mass also plays a role in determining this so a feather and a brick thrown from same height will not reach the ground at same time because the wind will act on the feather giving it a zip zag pattern to reach the ground.

Same for two different cars traveling at same speed side by side, aerodynamics will determine, wind speed, tire size, gear ratio, road pattern etc

I will agree with eriko2k2 on this one. This is because all these forces which are against motion will only directly affect the propelling force (engine) but not directly speed.

The question does not take into account all forces for or against speed. The question assumes both cars can get to the same speed and maintain it despite all the forces against it.

I am concerned for the speed measuring instrument and the sources of errors in reporting speed of both cars.

PS once at point B they maintained 60km/h same speed.

In advance physics, the answer is complicated because you can only achieve such feat with a computer assisted driving.

The complicated issue is there are external forces acting in a body that you can't see and unless you are able to take control of such, it is possible.

In as much as they're moving at the same speed. They will continue to cover the same distance at the same time.

Horsepower only determines how fast it can reach the said speed, traction etc.

I didnt want to comment and reply the obvious answer then, until i reached the misunderstanding of Sultaan's posts where you and ericko2k2 didnt get his point so i tried to explain his point which is actually a deviation from your question.

He was trying to explain that speedometer in 2 cars should not be used as separate instruments in the same speed test. The speedometer differences he mentioned could be caused by tire size or calibration.

I wrote my first comment on this thread to expatiate on his point which i have been doing. That doesnot take away the fact that speed is speed or change my opinion on speed.

My point basically is if you rely on speedometer in a car, say car A and B racing on the same track and both are looking at their speedometer and both claiming they are going 100km/h, because of calibration and other errors, their actual speed might be different and 1 may overtake the other based on errors. These errors will be eliminted if one speed gun is used to read speed of both cars and its the same, then one car can never pass the other.

V6 speed and V8 speed are the same. Even W12 speed is the same.

The difference is acceleration.
