GAZZUZZ:The only way to make sure the connector is making proper contact is by stripping part of the connector wires the test but which should i check, continuity or voltage? I will try to ensure contact of the connector. I currently have no leakage. The last leakage was on the oil switch, between the plastic and metal parts. I used 4min adhesive around it which stopped the leak. Lastly, for the ABS problem, i saw a trouble shoot process in the service manual. The instruction was to read voltages on the ABS modulator but the connector was not exactly as shown so i got confused. Modified This morning before going out, i used an office pin to adjust the connector contacts and also scratched the inside of the contacts. So far so good, the limb mode is gone. I hope it remains that way. |
My Oga, I brought to you issues on my ABS and Radiator fan switch. I have a third problem which i have investigated and sought for solution but now confused. I have gotten the Multimeter to check the ABS and the Radiator fan switch but have not done so yet especially for the fan switch which needs a 24" wrench which i don't have. I have a P2647 problem that succeeds a P2646 problem. My P2646 used to be occasional especially after i wash engine. This results in a limb mode where my engine speed is limited below 3000rpm. I have 2 valve body for the Rocker arm actuator. I had leakage of engine oil at the sensor due to bad gasket which i got a used one and replaced. When buying the used one the seller took the gasket off a rocker arm sensor where the solenoid was broken while he removed the oil switch so i begged him for the valve body which he gave me for free. I installed that free valve body with my solenoid and oil switch but had more leakages so i reverted back to my old one. After these while, my car would just go into limb mode with P2646 without provocation and sometimes go out of the problem by itself. Now i cant seem to get it off my back. It has changed to P2647 when recently i moved both the oil switch and solenoid to the free valve body i removed previosuly. With both valve bodies i will get limb mode after like 1hr of driving. Now i have a permanent limb mode. I got solutions online which suggested the multimeter diagnosis. All test gave me good results but not a solution. I was to check for continuity with the connector removed and engine off. If there is continuity, change sensor but if not proceed. There was no continuity so proceeded to checked for voltage across the connector and body ground with ignition at on(II), there was 11V which means OK. Next was to check for voltage across the 2p connector. Same 11v. Next was to check fof continuity on the oil switch 2 pin terminals while engine was running which i didn't and got continuity. All the test means the oil switch was good, and there was signal from ECU. The solenoid too works but i still have limb mode with the 2 valve bodies. What will u suggest? |
melc4real:This is not a pull out but clearly a front left impact affecting the wheel. Besides the pull most times doesnt happen on speed. |
Specialist900:Never got to do it until my CAT got blocked. During removal my O2 sensor was damaged. |
erico2k2:NO. Thats all the components of my ABS. No ECU, It has its ECU. Watch this Video and see where Vehicle speed sensor is on a 98-2001 Honda Accord https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kdwgQzcV0E Even Cruise control is dependent on this sensor.
|
erico2k2:The gear driven speed sensors where last used by Honda in the 1993 model. Whether its an Autobiography, HSE, sport or a Ferrari there are basics do not change. Speedometer wont work correctly from readings from wheels. Its the transmission output that is used for speedometer. Rear axle is still part of the transmission output. Beyond the differential, speedometer readings will be inaccurate. Do your research well. My ABS unit has its own ECU and all wheel sensors are connected direct to the unit. The whole component system of the ABS does not involve the ECU.
|
erico2k2:Just because u specifically say u dont want an internet picture. Luckily i have the next best thing. My service manual. There are 2 of those sensors in the transmission. One measures input and the other output. Like i said before Wheel sensors are used by ABS and VSA but not speedometer.

erico2k2:How can a camera just read speed? Can my mobile phone camera read speed? No camera can read speed. Speed is a relationship between distance and time. Take one out of the other, its no longer speed. There is no speed without time. No speed measuring device can measure speed without time and distance. U just mentioned white lines, do you know that these white lines are placed at a particular fixed distance apart? That is very important to tell the speed. Secondly, whether radar, infrared, Camera or GPS, the all have to measure the time you crossed the first white line to the time u crossed the second white line. Kilometer / hour which is distance / time. Speedometer sensor measures time by way of counting revolution while the size of tire provides the distance and together they become speed. |
erico2k2:You covered it but i still dont agree to it. I still maintain, that if you change the diameter of ur tires, your speedo becomes errornous and would need recalibration. Speedometer, ABS, Vehicle stability sensors sensors all work the same way by measuring rotation but not distance. They all measure rotation along the drive line or hub. The speedo is calibrated with a fixed tire to know the speed that is a fact u refuse to accept but it is. My car is a front wheel drive which has 4 ABS sensors. The front measures rotation of the CVT joint while the rear measures rotatiion of the hub. Speedometer sensor is located in the trasnmission. The way ABS works is it tracks vehicle speed by means of the speed sensor located in the transmission. Say vehicle speed is 100km/h. But there are 4 ABS sensors in each wheel. They all should be doing 100km/h or there about. If one tire becomes 0km/h while the vehicle speed sensor reports 100km/h the wheel is considered locked and ABS kicks in. Speedometer is independent of ABS but ABS is dependent on speedometer. |
Conner44:Very true. Thats the point i have been trying to make. Diameter will look like A=15+5=20 B=17+3=20 C=17+4=21 A and B will not affect speedometer but C will. Circumference of a circle or wheel is equal to or same as the distance the circle or wheel will cover in one complete revolution. C=2πr Distance A=2 x 3.142 x 10 = 62.84 B= same as A= 62.84 C= 2 x 3.142 x 10.5 = 65.98 Difference in distance covered for every totation is 65.98-62.84=3.142 For every complete tire rotation, tire C will be ahead of tire A and B with 3.142inches. This translates to 0.0798m. 62.84 in = 1.598m A and B will cover 1km in 1000m/1.598m= 625.78 rotations 65.98in =1.676m If C under goes the same rotation it will cover 625.78 x 1.676 = 1048.81m = 1.04881km For every 1km C is ahead by 0.0488km or 48.8m. When A and B is traveling at 100km/h C is travelling at 100 + (100x0.0488)= 100+4.88 =104.88km/h Also every 1 hr, C is 4.88km ahead of A and B. If A B C are to travel same journey say a 100km journey traveling at 100km/hr, A and B would arrive in 1hr while C will arrive in 104.88/100=60/x. If u simplify for x u get 57.21minutes. Finally, the torque needed to rotate tire A/B and C cannot be the same. Therefore C would consume a proportional amount of fuel needed for A and B to cover same distance. |
akagaba:U dont sound like a Christian at all. |
grandstar:Corper? I thought u will say a professor. |
asuustrike2009:Lies. Even third class can do Masters directly with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Some departments puts its limits higher but thats the minimum standard. |
grandstar:Guy, both 2.49 and 3.49 are 2.2. |
opeaceo:Its not just your school, its the entire Nigeria or all schools under the NUC. |
Some people can argue blindly sha. What does it take to do a little online search. Google it. Refer urselves to this old thread https://www.nairaland.com/1588636/change-university-grading-degree-structure

OrestesDante:Are u a Nigerian graduate? 2-2 has always been 2.4CGPA in the 5 point and 2.2CGPA 4point Nigerian curriculum. |
Controlv:I had vibration issues too. Mine went away by luck. My valve cover had oil leaks so i changed the gasket. My car became smoother. Reason is that the front engine mount uses engine vacuum and ecu to control its stiffness. If you have little engine vacuum, you lose that function leading to more vibrations. So anything that causes you to lose engine vacuum will cause vibrations. 2ndly, check all the rubber exhaust mounts and replace old and stiff ones. Lastly, you can resettle the seating of your engine by doing this. Loosen (slack) the mounting bolt of front, rear and right engine mounts. Start the car and hold brakes with hand brakes up. Shift to R for some seconds then shift to D some seconds too. Repeat the shifts before returning to P then turn off the car. Retight the mounting bolts. Most mechanics install and tighten engine mounts when engine is proped with a jack. Its wrong, they are supposed to bolt and tighten the engine mounts to chassis or subframe then guide the mounting bolts without tightening. They are supposed to remove the prop before tightening. This may cause odd seating of the engine causing more vibration. There is a service bulleting that suggest updating the ECU because of this vibration issue in the 2003 model. It seems having a 2003 Accord in Nigeria, one has to manage a little too much vibration which is supposed to be resolved by an ECU update. We dont have such facilities. I guess 2004/2005 came with such updates. High idle at cold start is by default. |
ivolt:My exact thoughts. How can i begin to think of using my children business wise just after giving birth. |
Checking her husbands phone. She will see something that she may not understand the context and will lead to more mistrust. Before i got married i had a girl friend who is a nonidentical same sex twin but we were not dating. Fast forward 6yrs, my friend too is married. Me and her twin were only on hi/hello level but were facebook friends liking each others post. One day out of the blue, the twin initiated a chat, after the pleasantries, she asked that she needs assistance from me. My mind went on red alert, what does she want when me and her had never had any kind of relationship or have never spoken to each other. She wanted me to assist her with 15k but i was broke at that time and couldnt help. I thought to myself someone could have hacked her FB account? I said to her, send ur acc no let me see what i can get. She did send and shockingly it was her account name. The chat ended while she was waiting for me to send something. Later that day, i was sleeping, my wife took my phone and went through my SMS, Whatsapp, Fb messanger, in fact everything. She found the conversation and it was bye bye to my beautiful sleep. There is no xplanation for giving a random girl 15k just like that. She still habours that day in her mind but she is very wrong and cannot be told the truth till today. 2 days ago she did same thing, she found a chat between me and a friend who was joking to have a sweet side chick for me. He even sent me a random pix, i called him a love-vendor and we laughed it off. She saw that chat. What can i tell her? Maybe she should stop checking my phone. |
Specialist900:What car is this. I guess baby boy. |
Olisa4all:Hope you see rocker arm assembly on this screen shot. Its almost the same thing but for your car it has two assemblies for each bank. Am just lazy to get u that of v6.
|
Hausa boys and speed na like 5 and 6. One dusted me with his 406 while i had my mother, wife, children, and sister in the car. For their sake i resisted the challenge. |
Piyke:I use mobil XHP. I dumped expensive oils due to shortening of oil which makes me spend so much on oil. I have serviced the sensor several times both on my 03 and and my friends 08 Accord. In my car, since i bought the car, if i wash engine, it comes up with this code for a day to a couple of days before it goes away on its own. One time, weeks later it refused to clear so i removed it and gave it a proper bath. The washing problem still exist. When i got a leak, i thought silicone gum would do but it never stopped it. I got a fairly good gasket in Kaduna panteka. The person also gave me the valve body with a broken solenoid connector but removed his oil switch. I used his valve body and gasket with my solenoid and oil swtich. The leaking got worst so i reverted back to my valve body. After my last engine wash, the code came and never left. I removed it and serviced it but after 100miles working well the code came back. I got another solenoid but again after 100miles the code came back. I used the car with the limb mode for a week, suddenly, 3 days ago, i surprisingly saw the car passed its previous 3k rpm limit. Right now i have no leak and its working. My friends story is a bitter one. His has 2 solenoids and 2 oil switchs black and blue. During an engine work when the engine was removed, the mechanics where very careless and the 2 oil switch broke. They also manhandled the connector harness which destroyed the connectors which were also coloured to identify them. A search for the blue switch never gave fruit likewise the black. We got green instead but both never worked. We later got one black. The 2nd challenge was the harness which became confusing since the connectors broke and were cut out. I later realised that only the black which shows up as A (intake) during scan causes the limp mode. As it is now, only that side of his sensor has a good oil switch and the B side which is exhaust isnt working but no limp mode. Although he has a permanent Check engine light due to it. He recently had his fare share of leak but was resolved. |
luvinhubby:That P2647 is a bastard. Its a night mare for every honda. My own will go into the code for few weeks and treat itself if i ignore it enough. My friends 08 accord was a pain in the ass for a long time from this problem. The sensor is also notorious for leaking engine oil. |
GAZZUZZ:I remember swapping the thermostat housing on my sisters 05 Civic and remember changing the sensor when her engine was changed. Her car is parked now, i will remove hers since hers has since been on direct. Or will contact the guy we sold the bad engine to, he might still have the old one. Thanks for the direction. I hope they have the same temp switch range with mine. |
BabaCommander:A married friend of mine resumed smoking secretly, his wife will be hostile to it if she found out. But this guy went to his side chick. PS no one leaves his used CD in his side chick's house so he placed the disgusting thing in an empty pack of cigar and pocketed it to dispose on his way home. My guy totally forgot until wifey decided to do laundry. "Baby what da f is this?" "smoking and wet condoms?" she shouted from outside. He was just smiling like a fool. |
I said me and her used the wet condom she found. She said she cant recall the tissue paper i used to wrap the thing. I said, probably a friend left it there . ![]() |
I said "it wasnt me!" |
GAZZUZZ:Yea, couldnt see it but touched it. The jumper did the magic. I went to work and back through hold up but no heating. I was scanning live during the trip in the morning. Temp at hold up was 88-90 degrees celcius and highway 85-87. I called the electrician to find it for me, but he said he couldnt find it. He said i should come to him for solution i said no, thanks. |
GAZZUZZ:Thanks. I know 08 accord has it there but didnt see it on mine, may be i have to look from under. My reading yesterday suggested jumping its 2 pin connector, this will make it run direct from ignition. I will do that while i look for its replacement. |
