Hello, I recently noticed that my Accord 2008 model makes a rattling sound for like 1 0r 2 seconds at cold starting in the morning. I scanned the car and it threw no error codes. I read online and it seems this is prevalent to accords model of same year. The car drives well and everything works perfectly, guru in the house, What could be the problem?
Dont know if you have been answered.

Problrm is very common to this car.

The problem is usually the VTC actuator. In other words the intake camshaft head. A replacement would solve your problem. To find a good one is a herculean task. Replacement is very easy for a knowedgeable mechanic. Not more than an hr.

Its the part labelled 4

Sherriff walked out because he was not recognized as the chairman at the meeting which makes a whole lot of sense. That's a disrespect on Jonathan and everyone there considering that the meeting was meant to resolve the issue at hand.
Resolving a feud between the Chairman of PDP and Governor Wike, Fayose and Senator Makarfi. When you dont recognise that Sherrif is the Chairman, the meeting is a deadlock from inception.

GEJ made that mistake and he paid for it. Period. Blame no one but the embarassed.

When a girl does not have an idea how to predict her monthly period, she cannot blame God for embarassing her.

it really beats me how any person would have problems with Jonathan considering he's a very humble and non confrontational person. This just shows that a country like Nigeria may not need democracy at all because we tend to respect people who are very tough on us ie Buhari et Obasanjo.
The walking out was not intended to embarass Jonathan but Jonathan placed himself there by being openly supportive of Wike and his gang.

Dont be surprised if Wike is the one sponsoring thiese youths. Tomoro you will see another group of PDP youths asking for another thing.

I believe there is nothing like "Amalgamated youth leaders of APC nationwide". There just APC youth wing, APC women wing, APC stakeholders etc. This PDP youths sound sponsored.

At least with carlcare your warranty is guaranteed.

How long will it take you to use the warranty on a samsung? Forever and a day. Besides the Samsung will buy 2 of the tecnos so i will not lose since all my eggs are not in one bag.

I used a Tecno Phantom A+ for 3 years, my sister is currently using infinix for almost 3 years.

Who wants to buy samsung? I dont like charging my phone every now and then. I cant spend 150k to buy a samsungi will sell for 40k after a year. I better buy a Tecno for 70k and sell 35k a year later.

I dont play games, so i dont need snapdragon, mediatek is enough to take pictures, be on social media, email, find my way by GPS, listen to music, watch movies and much more.

Hmm buy original brake pads you won't change them for 3 years.I changed mine 2014 still on and I checked it.that thing they call brake pads is just charcoal evil people killing Nigerians since 18AD
Buy from where?

Amazon? Better.

From local parts dealers, I aint ready to waste money. They give you guarantee but speak grammer thereafter.

Besides, brake pads durability depends on factors. Highway consumes more pads than city especially with our bad roads. Rotor condition. Auto consumes more than manual trans. Driving style too defers. I do highways alot and i dont go slow. Its possible to use same brake pads brand like me but mine can last 3 months and yours a year. My dad for example is a hard and frequent braker. Some cars like 2008 Accord and known for excessive brake pad wear.

My rear brake liner got worn out one time. Buying a new one was a disaster. My rear wheels always get locked and brake too responsive for comfort. I was lucky to find a used one removed from an accidented car which is now 2 years and going.

I know for sure the brake pads am using are not standard, i quess the standard is out of reach. The particle dust it leaves on my wheel every trip is enough to know that fact. Believe me that that is not even the worst, the worst was one that could not take me 800km, it cracked up and broke away from the metal holding it.

Interesting Topic. Op I want to ask you. What if i get these tools in my trunk and dont know how to use them take for instance changing the sepentine belt. I once tried changing a regular belt and could'nt get the tension right. The result was the High squeeling noise which didnt stop till a mechanic tightened it properly.
Getting tools is one thing, knowing what to do is another
If you got google and tools, atleast you can do something as against someone who knows everything but no tools. Imagine this, even a mechanic with out tools is useless.

You could travel 30km to find a mechanic to fix ur broken down car. Without a certain tool, he may be helpless and needs to go back to his workshop for more tools. These tools are the average tool set a mechanic will got out for an emergency assistance.

Assume a mechanic shows up without one and you have it.

our brakes pads where worn out before the journey, its unfortunate you only findout during the journey unless your car was binding
A worn brake pad is different to a worn out brake pad. A worn brake pad is not critical but a wornout break pad will damage the rotors.

Without checking for the level of pads, i was aware that soon, i may need new pads. The reason for me buying new pads but didnt install hoping what i have will take me there. I dont like breaking into new pads on a journey. Its risky and can damage rotors due to over heating. Bottom line is it didnt so i had to change on the journey.

I changed my spark plugs not because they stopped working or the car was misbehaving. I changed because my car manual recommended i change it at 100kmiles which i did. So i kept the old in the car. This is the same situation with my serpentine belt though it has dried and cracked up, but incase of emergency it should serve. In fact i buy brake pads before the one in the car wears out. I sometimes buy oil filter too.

Wheel spanner is a standard item in a car. Non of the things i mentioned are standard.

I dont bother keeping tools in my car as it will eventually get stolen, i only have a tire inflating machine in the car, in my three years of using the sienna, it has never broken down on the road before not even ordinary changing of tire. Maybe that is whats giving me confidence, it wasnt the same for my Nissan sha i carried a lot of tools which were handy in fixing things when it decides to rest on the way
My car broke down twice, a broken fuse and exhausted brake pad. Cooling fan stopped and the car started over heating. Then i didnt know what i know now but i paid an electrician 1k who replaced the fuse in less than a minute. I would same by myself

The break pad finished on me on an 800km journey less than half of the way on a sunday with an office car. Lack of these tools delayed my journey for almost 2 hours even with new pads in the car but had only 17 flat wrench instead of a ring or sucket. The flat only got damaged without success.

In most cases, i assisted people and even mechanics with these tools thats why some of them keep disappearing. For example, my ELM bluetooth scanner has been more helpful to my friends car than mine. Leaving it at home means no help for him.

That wine opener saved 2 weddings from embarrasement. In fact it is the most used tool of the lot.

I don't know how people can draw any positives from the unruly behaviour of these individuals. All that was achieved with the screams and hyperactivity was delaying the inevitable. The guy will still be deported; probably exactly as was intended, just on a different flight. In the end, the confrontations and aggressive charges would have amounted to naught.

If you guys really want to vent your anger in unity, then you will do well to target the politicians who call the shots in Abuja. those are the people solely responsible for whatever perceived disrespect you experience abroad. Instead, you're patting yourselves on the back for bullying people who actually treat you with significantly more respect than your average Nigerian security operative.

The behaviour of these group of Nigerians was inexcusably stupid. Should those videos make it to CNN and BBC as they so incessantly threatened, then it would be to ridicule their ignominy, not to extol their virtues, because they hardly exuded any virtues worthy of extolling.
It will also embarass the country which deports non criminals like convicted rapist and murderers. If Nigeria were a sane country, it will be embarassed that its citizen were given that treatment.

Imagine an American showing up at entry point to Nigeria without papers. He not only gets deported but chained up like he was caught with Ivory. Imagine the diplomatic thunderstorm. Even Buhari will have to apologise to Americans.

We never get such treatment cause our country does not care and we normally dont care too.

We don't know what the offence is, we shouldn't allow our emotions becloud our reasoning. I certainly wouldn't want a convicted armed robber being allowed to roam freely in the same plane I'm in.
No country deports a convicted criminal. This point of yours is dead on arrival. You convict someone in your country you send him to your own jail.

A convicted criminal to be transfered to prison in Nigeria would be a different case and will certainly not be transported in a commercial plane as such.

any act that contravenes the law is criminal, truth be told.
Do you know what a criminal offence is?

If i board a plane to the US without Visa, am i a criminal? If i ask USA for assylum, does that stop me from being a criminal. If you have no Visa, you are kept there and put on a next plane back to Nigeria. You are not chained or treated like a criminal you are not.

In this case he claims he lost his documents, what ever is the case, he didnt steal, rob, rape, or illegally crossed the border or attempt to illegally cross. He didnt sneak through a luggage or from the undercarriage of a plane but came through the doors with no documents. He is not a criminal and must not be chained.

Pls watch the video or find the definition of a criminal. If someone finds his way to your door without any reason to be there, it still not trespassing until he passes into your property without permission then it becomes trespassing. Same thing here.

As far as am concerned, if there is any set of godfathers that can do such a thing, its the Senate.

I just wrote a test last week, my uncle who works for the the same organisation asked my father to approach our senator while he makes his attempts to help me secure a place from inside the organisation.

I wrote ITF test and did interview since 2014, no news till date. The a then director told me he cant help me as i am not from same state as him, so i should meet my senator. I have people in ITF, they said the list went as far as CSC but stalled and never came out but all vacancies where filled by the senate.

My sister who paid for a job in Abuja told me the story that because their employment was done underground and the senate wasn't aware to put their candidates they almost canceled the recruitment. The parastatal was quick to pay the recruits plus areas and even housing allowance. At the point it was too late to do anything. The director was fired for that action.

Every where i go as far as employment is concern, i get referred to my senator. They are known to stop every recruitment without their knowledge or slots. My assumption is that they had no candidates and had to create ways to put their own in.

If you drive a car 5 years and older, you may have the need to prepare for the inevitable breakdown. Your car should be out of warranty and for this Naija, it will cost an arm and both legs to have your car towed to the workshop. Some problems are worth 2 mins troubleshoot with right tools, why wait for an hour or more for an experienced mechanic or tow truck. The mechanic you may find around may do more harm than good. Besides, a break down on the highway is dangerous these days so you might wanna get back to speed before kidnappers come calling.

For me, driving a 14 year old car, i have some tools to help myself. The picture below shows how prepared i am. These tools are cheap for one to can start buying with N100.

Some are essential while others not so essential.

The list includes
1. Flat wrench 8 - 22 (i suggest buy flat/ring 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 19, 22)
2. Flat/ring spanners 14 and 17 (i lost 10 and 12)
3. Combination of 8, 9, 10 pipe wrench
4. 8 and 10 pipe wrench
5. Socket wrench handle and long extension with 10, 12, 14, 16, 16 long (for spark plug) and 17 socket (i need short extension, you may have to know the size of plugs in your car usually, 14, 16, 17 and 19)
6. Pliers
7. Utility knife
8. Small philips (start) and flat head screwdrivers (i lost the flat)
9. Changeable philips and flat tester screwdriver
10. Screwdriver with 6 changeable flat and phillips heads
11. Vernier caliper
12. Feeler gauge
13. electrical insulating tape
14. old spark plugs (lost 1)
15. old serpentine belt
16. electrical wire strands (make sure you have spares of fuses although there are instances the wire will be necessary)
17. flash light
18. DC charger/usb
19. Cork opener and knife (this has been very useful)
20. 3.5m measuring tape
21. The bag i store most of them

Lets see what tools you got in your.

V6 isnt more durable than I4 generally. The durability difference comes from the load factor. A V6 might be operating at say averagely 50% of its power while I4 may be say 70%. This means the I4 will be working more than the V6. On the other hand, say you put a 2.6L V6 in a 5000kg car and put a 2.0L I4 in a 1500kg car, the V6 will have more load and would perform worst than the I4. The same can be said of the durability. Assume you use both at the same load factor and service at each one's recommended period. I think the V6 should give up first especially since it features more dead weight on its crankshaft.

It is also the same when you compare bike engines with cars. If you think a V6 is always better and faster, would a V6 car be ever faster to an I4 power bike?

Its not about the engine, its all about the load.

The load determines alot of things like acceleration, fuel efficiency, durability etc.

Same way a 2008 Toyota Hilux and 2008 Toyota Prado both have the same engine 2.7L I4 but the Hilux is more fuel efficient. This is for 2 major reasons, weight of each car and drive train. The Prado is a Full time 4x4 while Hilux a part time 4x4. The Prado has constantly more friction and dead weight to overcome which increases the load on the engine each time both cars start off from 0km/h.
