How convenient, you translate the Bible to derive only what you want and misconstrue others to mean whatever since the context does not suit you.

I believe, its not the semantics you are finding difficult to accept but the fact that you simply dont want to agree that God created enmity between two of his creatures.

For the last time i ask you, WHAT IS A SERPENT?

If you ask me which serpent God is talking about in verse 15, i can equally ask you which woman God is talking about in verse 16. What is her name? And why does every woman goes through pain of childbirth. Why is it not that woman only, like you are asking me which specie of a serpent God cursed. Haba, use your head now! I wonder the next question you will ask me. Probably, why did God not punish satan?

Here the bible was referring to satan himself, which of these snakes are ancient?
The simple garter snake? Which dosn't even have any venom? Satan used his power to control a snake just as a puppeteer will make a puppet sing and dance convincingly, to deceive Eve, that is why he was refered to as the ancient serpent, remember that Satan was created before any reptile was. Snakes don't chase people like lions do. If you step on one, and it bites you, blame your self because you should be careful when walking, the same way you should be when your foot strikes a lifeless stone. Keep your environment clean and free of clutter and snakes won't come there.

You are lucky to have upto 22hrs of power frm NEPA, on a normal day i get like 3hrs a day, max 7hrs a day, which brings me to wat i wanna ask nw, my batt hardly gets full cos of this Nepa wahala, somtimes i jst use my Gen to boost it up, will dis hav a negative effect on d batt over time?

My load is, 32" LED TV, DSTV, Home theatre, Laptop, Standing Fan, 3 ceiling fans, 6 lights (18w each) and a blender for few minutes some days when there is no electricity.

TV is off 6 hrs if am home and 9hrs if am not. 2 ceiling fans are almost constant for nights. During the day almost everything goes off except TV, decoder, home theatre and standing fan.

It seems your load is more than mine.

My battery is always full sometimes for days without considerable use.

Undercharging is as bad as overcharging. I dont think charging with generator will cause you any harm.

1 12v 200Ah Gel battery Dekar Solar made in USA. The inverter is 1.2Kva Mercury.

My area has very good electricity supply, power cuts are usually for 10 - 30 mins or cummulatively 2hrs of 24hrs. Atleast we boast of 22hrs a day except when there is a fault locally or on the Nationsl grid.

My battery show signs of bulging which is an indicator for overcharging. I blame my inverter for that.

I have been worried since yesterday after a heavy windy storm. Electricity was not restored and i was sure its going to be for the night if worst for a day or 2.

Usually we begin load shedding on the inverter which we did from around 4pm, by 11pm the family had settled in and i just had my shower, the inverter low battery alarm buzzed when i switched the TV and fan in the sitting room. WTF i told my self since i saw 4 full bars like 20mins ago and the inverter usually takes us atleast through the night. I checked and saw 2 bars. Another WTF, since it normally sounds the alarm when the last of 4 bars is gone.

It down on me that my battery is about to give up the ghost. I cant remember the last time i spent money on fueling generator and it downed on me i am soon going to start that else i have to produce 120k for a new battery.

I feel like my mecury inverter mismanaged the battery probably from a low DoD or bad charging. I noticed the bulge on the batterh casing a while back but didnt think the battery will go down so soon.

I used to get at least 12hrs even with heavy usage, now its just 7 with minimal load.

Anyways, i am grateful for the almost 2years it served me. Note that the battery wasnt purchased new, in fact it cost just 15k to get it then.

During my undergraduate days, machine drawing class to be precise, we were taught that you have to have a very sound imaginative mind to be a good engineer. Structural engineering for example deals with alot of abstract forces that cannot be seen, you can only imagine them and work with them using imaginations and mathematical expressions.

How does speed relate to tire size? I have imagined it an translated it to the mathematical expression. For another person to understand it he has to view, understand the mathematical expression then imagine it. Some where along the line, you failed. Not my fault.

We are all going physics and theory.but I would have loved this question to get a practical answer.
I believe that if am going at same speed with u and I want to move past you without increasing my speed above the agreed speed,things like gear come into play for manual cars.
Am subject to corrections but am just thinking out of theory.

You cant move pass anyone when both of you are on the same speed.

100km/h is the same every where.

Final gear ratio only affects the engine RPM at a certain level of speed.

Say a 5 speed car with fifth gear ratio of 0.65 at 100km/h will have an RPM of say 2800 but a 6 speed car with 6th gear ratio of 0.55 at 100Km/h will have an RPM of 2600. This mostly increases the fuel efficiency and increase tge durability of the emgine.

So, pls check the pic i posted above, by switching the charging current to HIGH, i guess iv bypassed the multiple stage charging system, rite? Aldou i believe this isn't good for the batt.

From the pix, there are 2 selectors regarding charging. Charging current and charging voltage.

There are standards for these depending on type of battery. For example, my Mercury inverter manual says if i am using a 100Ah or less battery, i should select 10A charging current but if using battery between 100-200Ah, select 20A charging. Your manual should specify the charging current at standard and at High so you can properly say you are right or wrong.

With regards to charging voltage selector, Bulk (1st) stage charging voltage depends on battery type (gel, AGM, Flooded). This is the reason some inverters have battery type selector to determine the appropriate charging voltage. For your case, i think 13.5-14.5v is standard and 15.7v or there about is high. If that is correct, then everyday charging of your inverter at High voltage is bad. That high voltage is sometimes needed for equalizing charge where a battery is heavily depleted say to 0%. The high voltage charge may be used periodically to maintain battery cells but not consistently.

Thats why on most mobile phones, if a battery is heavily depleted and phone is plugged for charging, the battery charging indicator will not show until such atime the battery charge is at a certain level.

The issue here is that your inverter specifications must give you a guide to select these switches.

Charge time = Battery AH ÷ Charging Current
In your case:
Charge time = 200AH ÷ 12A
Charge time = 16.67 hours.
Charge time = 16 hours and 40 minutes.

Using one software yielded the results below

There is one more thing however.

Inverter batteries are not supposed to be discharged to 0% state of charge. That will damage the batteries. So intelligent inverters/chargers will only deplete to say 20, 30 or whatever is the preset. Some inverters have user adjustable discharge selecetor.

My point is that, theoritecally, a 200AH battery will not be completely discharged of its 200Ah charge. So a balance of say 30% should be left unusable. That means a charging time for a battery discharged to 70% of its charge should recharge in 16hrs 40 mins less 30% of the time.

This should be, 11hrs 40 mins if my calculations are correct.

Now, even after the 11hrs 40mins, a normal inverter of charger should not show full charge because the charge should be a 2, 3 or 4 stage charger. This means that jf the inverter was charging at 12A, after 11hrs plus of charging at thks voltage should go to the 2nd stage of charging, then 3rd then 4th. Each stage leads to a drop in voltage. It could mean that buy 90% state of charge the inverter or charger should slow down charging. This stage will add to the initial time if the battery were to charge at constant rateof 12A. Asuuming the final 4th stage is charged at 2A and the state of charge is 95%. 95% state of charge may be say 190AH. The remaining 10Ah will a 2A charge will take 5hrs.

In essense, the apparent charging time is far higher than calculated for these obvious reasons and more. More could be temperature and other factors affecting charging time.

This is not from a text book but from my experience and knowledge.

I went to the the service center long ago. It was a small office in a big building but i got the necessary service. The display panel was changed for free.

An old man is planning for a car change which will be an upgrade. He has ideas of what he wants but he respects my opinion.

I know his needs better than he thinks he does so i will mention some. He has a good maintenance habit when he can afford it but will totally rely on Kazeems who will usually mess up things further. He is not rough. Most importantly, he cant afford high maintenace since he is retired.

His current car, Mazda 323f was a bad deal right from day one buy has proved to be a strong car. No ball joint has ever been changed nor tie rod ends. Problems were engine, struts and availabilty of some parts. Eg clutch cylinder could not be found locally, piston rings, brake bads were expensive and unpopular at his location.

His 2 previous cars were Honda, so he was relieved of ball joint issues but has faced shocks (struts ptoblems) with mazda.

He desires Toyota, Avensis Verso or Corolla Verso. Both i think are above his 2m budget and not readily available to plan on a good used one.

I have in mind for him, 2006-10 Mazda 5, 2007-10 Toyota Camry, Corolla, Rav 4, Matrix or Vibe, or 2008-10 Honda Accord, Civic or CR-V. With that budget only the Mazda may be toks. I know all of them are not in the same class but the budget is of concern.

Apart from budget constraints, maintenance cost is of utmost importance.

Mazda is reliable but its engine is not while parts availabilty and their cost are a huge disadvantage.

Toyota is reliable too but my findings in comparison to Honda of same class is that, Camry engine is more expensive to accord. Camry has very expensive shocks and gear problems than accord. Mechanics have testified to more failed camry trans than accord of this age bracket. Accord has a leather seat problem. Corolla is a thief magnet.

Corolla and Accord i think are top contenders.

I would love to see constructive criticisms of the listed cars.

From 2003, no accord locks itself like that.

2003-07 will only lock back after 30 secs from when it was unlocked Remotely and but door was not opened.

2008-12 does like above plus lock itself only when you shift gear out of park or when driving reaches 19mph. This is programable to choose either of the options. This one opens doors once gear goes back to park.

Other than these accord never locks itself unless after market remote access is installed which i have seen some do.

Infact, central lock is disabled while engine is not running but key in ignition and any door open. In short, someone has to trigger it to close and only when all doors closed.

Even if i want to lock my key inside intentionally, the central lock wont let me. The only way is to drop the keys inside and press the lock pin manually, it locks all doors simultaneously too. Do this with key in the ingnition, the car unlocks itself immediatly.

I have opened 3 cars with locked in keys.

2 Honda Baby boy (98 accord) and 1 academy (96 accord). The 96 was more difficult.

Please note that from 2003 the difficulty level is beyond imagination as i know i cannot do it. Honda has changed it to cables deleting all the mechanical joints you can have access to by removing the window trims.
