The thing is that Nigerians still associate over eating and drinking with being rich.. ie. big man. That's why most rich folks and politicians have pot bellies. If you take a girl out, she will eat like there is no tomorrow. Most of our foods are full of carbs. It's hard to go to a restaurant/function and order naked fresh salad without salad cream or mayonnaise. If u want salad without anything , you will be looked at someone who is insane. It's collective ignorance and aloofness!

pendusky: marital happiness is positively associated with weight gain. Spouses -- both male and female -- who are more satisfied with their relationships tended to gain more weight, while spouses who were less satisfied tended to weigh less...
Where is the study to back this up? My thinking is that married folks feel that they have secured their partner's love and attention, so needless to impress anyone. They indulge in eating and not exercising as they would not have done if they were single. It's like why study for an exam when you have passed it?

greatgod2012: lol, that is what is happening to me right at present, my sisters-in-law keep shouting on my hubby, that while i am taking care of him and hes becoming bigger and bigger, but seems hes not reciprocating, as my stature is not really different from how i was b4 i got married 8years ago, well, thats how i want to be, im really disciplining myself plus the housechore activities, but i really love how i look younger, all these i do tell my sisters-in-law, but they wouldnt agree, they all want to see me becoming big, that is when they will believe im being taken care of...lol.
May God help us all.
Keep doing what you are doing. Village and ignorant folks think that being fat is a sure sign of being healthy and well nourished, it's your job to tell that reverse is the case by being fit!

If they bash white women, White men will get upset and will defend them
If they bash asian women, asian men will get upset and will defend them
If they bash latina women, latino men will get upset and will defend them
If they bash arab women, arab men will get upset and will defend them
BUT if they bash black women, they well feel better about themselves (self esteem boost) and No one will challenge them since black guys don't care. In other words, black women are just easy targets since they don't have anyone protecting them, even black men will add to the bashing which is quite sad :-(

It is the MANS job to protect his WOMAN. A woman should not be the one protecting both of them.
The question should have been addressed to your dad, then to your brothers b4 indicting black men. If your dad and brothers do, then find a black man who behaves like your dad and brothers, cos he will have ur back.

Gone are the days Nigeria would be begging for cheap recognition. We hav wat the world needs, Nigeria is the biz destination for the next couple of years. Coincindentally, USA is havin economic issues.
If I were GEJ, I will respond by paying a visit to China and Russia. Dat will surely keep USA on their toes. Also I would double my developmental effort and investment drive - leaving USA out of the action.
It is no longer news that USA is making ALL EFFORT to disintigrate Nigeria by 2015. This MUST NOT HAPPEN. We should come together irrespective of our diferences and shame the USA.
NIGERIA IS AN EMERGING WORLD POWER!!!! That is a big threat to USA.
USA can go ahead wit their hidden agenda of territorial control, in the guise of democracy summit, afterall Nigeria is too busy to attend such kangaroo meeting. ***hiss***

A "giant" in the midst of pygmies. You are likely not going to see these things in your lifetime with your giant mentality, constant power, good hospital, a stretch of 200Km tarred road without pot holes and diversions.

Rossikk: Dude go and kiss white asss now!? Who is stopping you? We reject your US interference and if you don't like that, GO and join them. Emigrate there. You will not be missed. Is anyone forcing you to be a Nigerian? Transparency international can kiss our collective assess. Why is the corruption of stealing from Iraq by the US not included in their 'peer reviewed' calculations? Trillions of dollars of oil cornered by the US based on a pack of lies? And you condone that? Isn't that because you are a slave who cannot think independently? Why are Bush and co not in jail for their crimes after killing two million people including women and children? Alams spent two years in jail for a far far lesser crime. So who is more corrupt? Use your brain and stop being a slave. Oh, and many Nigerian indigenous companies build roads in the country, not just foreign firms. We also manufacture cars, trucks, buses and computers, so go and learn more before typing your slaveboy ignorance.
You are running your mouth not your brain cos you a cretin! Since you have never been to Cotonou, any day you step outside Naija is the day you realize that you have been perpetually condemned to hardship and suffering by your black slave masters in Naija. I doubt if u know the differennce between a car brake and accelerator not to talk of owning a car, I'm going to burst your bubble if you really own an IVM car...the powerstrain ie. engine is made by Cummins, a US company. You are using a computer probably made by Americans, Internet brought to you by Americans. U think you are smart because you can type? What a display of idiocy! Intelligent people make stuff. What has Naija made with your slave masters in power? produce your report on how Naija is the least corrupt countryin the world, I know you cannot do that because your jaundiced education has not prepared you on how to conduct a simple statistical experiment. I know you might not know how to determine the average age of your household let alone your classmate. I know for a fact that you cannot tell me what's the student to teacher ratio in your school. Your slave masters in Naija, keep their money in US currency; fly on US made planes; drive US made cars; use US made security scanners at airports and luxury hotels; use US made cellphones and computers. Their kids are US trained. You are doomed for life!

PoliticsRe: Reaction To Alamieyeseigha’s Pardon Is ‘Sophisticated Ignorance’ - Abati by adconline(m):
Rossikk: Don't you have a brain? The nation needs time to develop its institutions. The USA at 50 years had SLAVERY and OPPRESSION embedded in its laws as a matter of state policy. Nigeria has come much further at 50 than the USA did at that age.

Spare us that corruption index GARBAGE. The USA ought to be right at the VERY TOP of ANY ''corruption index''. Just ask 2 million dead Iraqis, another 2 million dead Vietnamese, 5 million dead Congolese, and God knows how many million dead Afghans, sent to an early grave to assuage the greed of America's monstrously corrupt elite. Nigeria has not pardoned 1/20th the number of criminals pardoned by the US. Criminals who include drug traffickers, fraudsters, terrorists, and embezzlers.

If you are unhappy with the pardon of Alams, that's ok. But don't come here telling us rubbish fairytales about the US. We are not unexposed, wide-eyed admirers of the west here. We are intelligent.
You are the dumb one here. U cited US as anexample, now you don't want to compare other things that might give rise to US granting pardon. Eg fair trial, indepdent judiciary, law enforcement etc. Lets compare these one by one!
Go and produce your own peer reviewed corruption index.. Saying "I don't believe in TI" does not win debate, rather, it smacks of ignorance and aloofness . Your opinion does not matter cos you are a nobody! You keep mixing things up. Nigeria is not intelligent get it in ur head. Our oil is drilled by foreigners unlike Iran and Venuzuela, our road are built by Arabs and Germans. Intelligent folks fix their country without pointing fingers! I repeat ,No country that is potentially blessed as Nigeria is badly run like Nigeria. Don't tell me Somali or Chad. Let's start with OPEC countries!

Rossikk: He actually thinks he made sense there. That's what is astonishing. He's saying we shouldn't pardon anyone till we are 300 years old as an independent nation. Taharqa please how does that make sense? It is obvious these folks have been boxed into a corner, hence the stream of illogical gibberish issuing from them. Sad. By the way Mr adconline, I don't accept for a single minute that Nigeria is far more corrupt than the USA. I think the USA is 1000 times more corrupt than Nigeria. For reasons given on this thread which I don't need to rehash. In fact they are the most corrupt nation on earth by a LONG mile. The USA is like a Mr Big who robs the whole world blind, then builds a mighty palace filled with order, goodies, and loads of nice things. They no longer need to practice poor man corruption of the type seen in places like Nigeria. They've passed that level. But try and threaten their 'interests', ie their loot, for one second, and you'll see their true colours. That's America. Mr Big.
No you are saying that we can pardon all the criminals now because we are 52 and wait for good governance in the next 300years. Stupid argument!
When Nigeria is challenged for doing bad things, we cite USA as an example. When US is a good model to emulate, we say that it's 350yrs, so Naija is still young at 52 and should enjoy the luxury of getting things screwed up until she reaches 300 years. Instead comparing US pardon with ours, let's compare holistically in terms of legal system, punishment, law enforcement, security, jobs, infrastructure, transparency . A US governor wanted (i.e intent) to sell Obama's senate, he got arrested and serving a 14-year sentence in prison. Alams escaped UK and sentenced to about 2 years in Naija. A country that is at the bottom of corruption index, is not supposed to be encouraging corruption as Nigeria has clearly demonstrated.

Your figment of imagination for you to think that US is more corrupt than Nigeria. Ibori was set free by Naija court in Abuja when it was ruled in his favor that it was not him that was caught for stealing. His case again EFCC was tried in Asaba, a federal high created solely for that purpose, he was acquitted and discharged, got arrested in Dubai and sent to UK where he is servin. Bernie Madoff got 150 years for defrauding investors while Mr Yakubu got 2years for stealing from pensioners.

Rossikk: The USA has had 350 years as an independent state to get those things in place. And much of her achievements are predicated on exploitation, enslavement and looting of other lands and peoples. Nigeria is barely 50 years old as an independent nation. And we are developing the nation based on our own internal resources, and not looking to rob and loot other nations. I'm sure we've come a lot further than the US did at 50 years, despite our moderation.
So picking and choosing when it fits your position. How about the fact that USA is over 300 years of democracy, as such, it's in a better position to handle pardon and clemency than Naija? How about the fact that Naija is far more corrupt than US? How about Nigerian polictrickians looking Nigerian resources?
PoliticsRe: Reaction To Alamieyeseigha’s Pardon Is ‘Sophisticated Ignorance’ - Abati by adconline(m): 2:28am On Mar 17, 2013
Since this debate has turned into Naija Vs USA.
Can we have steady power since US has one. Can we have good roads since US has beautiful highways? Can we have security since US has one. Can we have good hospitals so that our politicians don't have to die abroad since US boasts of best hospitals in the world? We cannot cherry pick when making comparison.. Naija vs USA is false equivalence
PoliticsRe: Dr. Ben Carson To Retire From Medicine In 106 Days, Hints At White House Run by adconline(m): 9:40pm On Mar 16, 2013
robosapien: Dr. Ben Carson, head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University, made an exclusive announcement to the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) today that he is retiring and leaving the practice of medicine in “106 days,” coinciding with his 62nd birthday this September. Carson said he wanted to leave while he was at “the top of my game”.

Carson made the shock announcement minutes ago in a speech before a few thousand conservative in the Potomac ballroom of the Gaylord convention center in National Harbor, MD. “If you were to put me in the White House…,” he said at one point during the speech, which sparked the audience of conservatives to their feet in a prolonged standing ovation and cheers calling for him to run.

When asked in a Q&A session if he was considering a run for politics, Carson laughed and declined to answer but added, “who knows what will happen?”
