I now see why they are tarnishing our image thinking that it will take tiny N50 million to fix. |
I agree. but 50 yrs from now, women will be the ones making the complaint of having to care for men. we are overtaking men at a very high rate Amii ooh! until then, it will be a figment of ur imagination in Naija. |
Lagos is not Nigeria's capital, while the other cities mentioned are country capitals. So, I hail Lagos for getting a mention (or was it done by population? In which case I keep quiet). Up Lagos! I don't know why folks cannot rise above destructive patriotism and ignorance. New York and Jo-burg are not capitals. |
Does the Bible say the Earth is flat? Bible is not a scienctific book, but a compilation of historic events premised on christian doctrines. Of course there was "evidence" that the world is flat. People looked and saw an 'edge'. Could you tell me why New Year's Eve (December 31) in New York is January 1, in Nigeria and January 2 in New Zealand? Could also explain according to Genesis. God said let there be light and there was light' why this assertion doesnt apply to the whole world. Night time in some countries is daytime in some countries. |
I want to explain that the CTN will still be required after 11/1/2010 but before 1/3/2010 there will be no penalty. This means that if a cargo arrives at Lagos after 11/1/2010, then there will be no penalty but you still have to get the CTN from the port of loading. You still have to pay warehousing and storage charges before 1/3/2010. They will only waive the penalties until 1/3/2010, after that peanlties will start to be imposed in addition to the storage and warehousing fees. Does this mean that any container that arrives without CTN after March 1, 2010 will be penalized? Any idea why the FG introduced this measure? It seems that Naija bound cargos are charged more than other W/African countries. |
I dont think that fair use act requires so much paperwork? |
They will lose the same way the Supreme Court has consistently refused to annul presidential elections in Naija even when there were proven cases of irregularity. The Supreme Court is illegal, cos the CJ was sworn in by the outgoing CJ instead of the president. |
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" Run for your dear life. |
Science is tested truth=falsible, but religion is untested truth |
So, every time anybody throw accusations at the governor, even without any kind of evidence, the legislatures must investigate the Governor? This is how you grind the wheel of government to a halt. Me sef fit go halla say Fashola don steal misappropriate money and the legislator must investigate. Why not just task the state auditor general to audit the governors office and state funds then submit his/her full report to the full house. Also, why is the legislature investigating the Governor sef? Is the legislature itself not part of the complaints? Btw, what do we have courts and efcc? which kin state auditor general when he's an appointee of fashola. wetin happen to separation of power? can the house of assembly stop the court from issuing injuctions like this? |
Nigerians always thinking that they are indispensable. If he doesnt like the job, he should quit. A useless sense of entitlement from a coach who doesnt how to call the shots. |
let them go to court and test their cases. However, INEC is still a failure for not conducting credible elections. It's a reflection of what's coming up in next year's elections. I think Obi should not be held accountable cos some of his voters were also disenfranchised. |
Not surprised cos evil always wins in Naija |
Maybe its because other cultures are less hospitable than the Yoruba? I have a feeling if I go and invest in enugu I will not be well received. Maybe you need to the waters. Time to taste your feelings in order to lead into an informed and exprienced mind. Or maybe you can ask Oba Adeyinka Oyekan of Lagos who lived in Umuahia |
whether Awo said yoruba before Nigeria isnt my problem and im not his son nor do i carry Awo on my head like he is my father. I can careless about Awo or anyone, im talking about today now not 40 years ago. Which is why I said SE politics not igbo cause clearly many in the SE are stuck in the civil war while others arent. You sound like an idealist , but there is nothing to support your conjecture that Igbos are still stuck in civil war. Igbos have moved on as you can see they are in all. walks of life, but they have not forgotten about the war. Unless you meant that folks who are at par with you are still stuck? We can discard what Awo said some 40 yrs, but it still relevant today as Yar'dua has proved that it still holds true by refusing to hand over to his VP simply because he's from a different ethnic group. Most Igbos are worried about Naija problems like everyone else. Leave your enclave and criss-cross Naija you can agree with me that daily struggles and talks are not about Biafra. You can ask some of your fellows who have lived l in the east. Agitation for Biafra doesnt in anyway dominate any political, social, economic and religious discussions. So get over it |
sure w/e unfortunate for you this is Nigeria. and There is no way someone can further himself esp in politics by not reaching across regional lines. Are you in Nigeria now I doubt it. Maybe you are living in Nigeria that will never be. Awo believed Yoruba nation should come first before Nigeria. So how come it took some regions in the country 47 yrs to vote for a president who is not of their extraction? Because people like you cant succeed in a country with others who are not from your ethnic group. Please dont group me with all yorubas because all yorubas are not the same period some are muslim(Gani) some are christian(Obasanjo) some align themselves with southerners(Soyinka) some align themselves with northerners(Bankole) and some align themselves with both apealing to north and south(Fashola). Wish you could put your mouth where your money is cos it seems you ve got a lot catch up to do cos most Igbos can attest to that. Go live , work and invest in other parts of Naija outside your enclave. Let's put one Naija in action if you truly believe in this your feel good message. I said SE not igbo because there are igbos who are making themselves known around Nigeria and not just bigmen in the SE among their own people (which means nothing these days). Your message is? |
so are we now saying that Sir Mobolaji was not a millionaire simply because no forensic accounts peeped into his bank accounts? Or maybe Shakespeare was never a good writer, because he never won a Noble Prize in Literature?Maybe Kingdom of Songhay was not the richest in anciet Africa simply because there was no Forbes List to track their wealth. It's silly how folks use knowledge inversely in order to sound "smart". But how could someone buy shares in Mobil, John Holt, UAC. Shell without knowing the value of those shares? |
i'm dating a guy that lost his job 2mnths before we met.he is not a graduate, and am in my 2nd year in school.for him to get a better job now is a prroblem[even graduates finds it difficult to]i don't know if am doing the right thing.though i love this guy[he does too but sometimes i think it's because he's got nothing for now]whta do you think? Do know who else is not a graduate? OBJ. How come you are not working and worried that you are dating someone who lost his job? |
[b]Like Odutola, Louis Ojukwu attained prominence as an astute businessman and one of the first millionaires the country produced. Born in 1909, the native of Nnewi, Anambra State rose to become a director in various Nigerian companies and also won a parliamentary seat during the nation’s First Republic. Following his primary and secondary education in Asaba, Delta State, Ojukwu started his professional career at the Agricultural Department before leaving to join John Holt as a tyre sales clerk. He also incorporated a textile company in Onitsha to supplement his income during this period, already exhibiting a little bit of his entrepreneurial spirit. While at John Holt, he noticed the severe strain that lack of adequate transportation network had on Eastern textile traders. He later left John Holt to create a transport company to improve the trading environment for Nigerian traders. His transport company, founded as Ojukwu Transport Company in 1934, later extended its activities into construction and other sectors thereby growing into a multi-million naira group with thousands of workers in its employ. As a transport operator, he was a tireless worker and meticulous to detail; he was usually the first to inspect his transport vehicles for oil and leakages. Apart from his work ethic, his success was also oiled by the economic boom after World War II, working with the West African Railway Company and the newly inaugurated produce boards; he provided his fleet for commodity transportation and for other traders’ use. During the 1950s, he diversified his interest, bought some industries, invested heavily in the real estate sector and became a director in numerous major corporations. He was a member of the board of Nigerian Coal Corporation, Shell Oil D’Archy, and African Continental Bank. Ojukwu was perhaps, the wealthiest Nigerian of his generation: a multi-millionaire businessman, who was chairman of UAC (West Africa), the Nigerian Stock Exchange, director of Shell-BP with vast ownership of investment property in Lagos, Kano, Port-Harcourt, Enugu, Onitsha, among others. He owned controlling shares in many top blue-chip corporations that still operate in Nigeria today. Until his death in 1966, the multi-millionaire remained a titan in the nation’s business community. I now understand why Igbos blindly followed Ojukwu to mass graves. In their eyes Obi has performed wonders. Ladys and gentlemen you need to go down there. It is a huge shithole full of illiterates traders and armed robbers! All the high calibre personalities from the state live in placers elsewhere allover the world. Including other states in Nigeria, most notably Lagos and Abuja. Wonder why no pics of Anambra has ever been posted on NL Wonder if u ever knew something called JAMB. Do no think that every1 is retarded like you. Check your fact be making a fool of yourself |
Long before Ojukwu was born IGBOS have been known to be great people .IGBOS were the first blacks to build a double story building in Africa long before the whites touched our shores so I hope you understand what I am getting at.Ojukwu is not IGBO’s greatest asset. A little bit of history, did U know it was Ojukwu who granted Awo a pardon when he was serving his prison sentence in the east during the war? So this idea of folks breathing because Ojukwu allowed them to is just a figment of your imagination. |
It's preposterous for forumites to think that people voted because Ojukwu asked them to. Ojukwu was in APP when folks in Anambra voted for PDP-OBJ. Oh! I forgot Ekwueme told them to do so. It's insulting to say that a state that voted for Shagari instead of ZIk, Abiola instead of Tofa/Ugo , voted for OBJ even when one of their sons. Ekwueme was robbed of the ticket by cabals. People just come here and start throwing insults without even taking a look at their respective states. Some of us come from states where folks have not voted for a president in national election who is not of their tribal ancestry. Anambra is opposite. Peter Obi won because he's a rare breed of Naija politics. With no political godfather, he fought the entrenched cabals, won several Supreme Court cases. The cases he won in Supreme Court are now stare decisis that will 4ever serve as precedents. The court defined what a four year term means and its duration. The court outlawed governor in waiting syndrome of the Ubas and many more in his favour. I'm usually cynical of Naija politicians, but Obi stands out as a man who believes in "rule of law" in Naija where it only exists on the pages of newspapers .He's willing to fight for his convictions through the proper/and legal channels. Maybe they should have voted for Soludo who has got backers like Tony Anenih, saying that he changed his name and became an Anambraian, not going to happen, cos his wife- Josephine Anenih from the state has made him a defacto son through marriage, but folks knew he didn't mean well for them. They knew he wanted to put the state into his portfolio the way he did in Edo b4 Oshomole came in. Folks didnt want to repeat the same mistake that nearly handed over the state to the Ubas with OBJ's complicity. |
Can these silly liberal do-gooders stop worrying about who hates Obama or wants to impeach him and get something done with their majority. How can you blame Republicans when you had 60 six votes to get anything done and didnt use it? Dems know how to win elections and GOPs know how to govern. It's time Dems put Karl Rove on their payroll ,so that he will lecture them on how to get things done. Kapish? |
Nigerians are easily over satisfied. Maybe OBJ is now our hero for calling on Yar'dua to hand over. So what do you do in a country where there is no political hero/icon? I guess we can reinvent one by a figment of our imagination |
naija na play |
If you are not intelligent enough to contribute to this topic, why don't put thoese lazy hands of yours in the pockets where they belong instead of using them to type senseless comments like the one above ok? It's only a passive watcher of Naija politics thinks like you. Yar'dua's army of supporters are already calling for her head. Go ask Ex-Ambassador to the US- Mr Rotimi why he would play such card over a simple issue of Obama's inauguration? The cabals who are holding Nigeria to hostage will use this to say do not to entrust Nyamiri with any sensitive position. This woman is a small fry and can be wasted any time by CABALS who have thirst for destruction ever since Naija was coined. |
" We were going to sacrifice a Biafran for Nigeria's cause, but she brought it upon herself. |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coming from sahara reporters?! I refuse to believe this until I get the story from a reliable source Maybe you should start your news source. A couple of predications from Sahara Reporters: broke Stella Obasanjo's death. Ibori-London saga and predicted that he would be acquited in a specially carved out High Court in Asaba and finally Yar'dua's health. They are 3-0, so tell us your perdictions not what your pastor/imam said. |
ahead of me what are u insuniating? May Allah forbid it, Female Govt in my STATE seriously impossible You see why we are not in the same league and dont shoot in the same basket, but why are folks who dont share the same kind of idealogy on your way? "But really the fact is, we not in the same bracket Not in the same league, don't shoot at the same baskets Don't pay the same taxes, hang with the same bitches So how am I in the way, what is it I'm missing" Jay-Z |
we have swung into denial mode. Maybe Killing hundreds of people in the north every year is a national festival .Or maybe it does not even matter that thousand of Nigerians are affected every year through religious conflicts. We dont need a fortune teller to tell us that Nigeria is a breeding ground for terrorists. Osama Bin Laden has consistently talked about Nigeria and we are in denial mode. |
Please I would need a carfax report on this 2T1KU40E89C113214 |
