I'm a South African and I've been dating a Nigerian for 6 years, let talk about reality it's true most Nigerian in SA are selling grugs. For the Nigerians fellows it sounds bad but it true. So most South Africans are drug addicts as well sellers cos they either buy or sell to Nigerians. You still have not answered if your boyfriend is selling drugs cos since you dont care what he does for a living so long as he keeps the credit line open the way US treasury keeps it open for Wall Street. Show me the cash and I dont care what u do! |
Does this even make any sense? How does that tie-in to the topic of discussion Warm reception does not denote political acceptance in Nigeria |
So long as you keep espousing these attributes, you can never cut this guy off your mind. It's like saying I want to lose weight, but on the hand you are reciting 10 good reasons why you love ice cream. If the guy is crazy as you are about him, he would have gotten hitched. He does not love you the way u you and he doesn't want to tell u that so as to not hurt your feelings. if he ever settles down to marry u , guaranteed, you are going to put over 70% in that union since you are afraid of losing him. Your self esteem is on blast here. you have to love your beautiful self to understand that you really dont t need a man, but want a man who would complete you. It seems to me that you see marrying this guy as an accomplishment instead of looking at the big picture of what marriage is all about . it's a difficulty task that will last forever with challenges and triumphs |
And i have never seen anyone complain about the undue amount paid to the gods of the soccer religion Soccer players deserve their pay for services they provide. soccer clubs are for profit organizations while churches are not. Are u sying that pastors are entertainers? |
who do news organisations care about this woman? How connected are her parents? American soldiers fighting in battlefields are being tried for voluntary killing and they are talking about a spoilt white kid who thinks that justice runs from her dad's bedroom |
I was at the lobby of an hotel once reading the dailies when a white south African sitting next to me asked if I was an American. I proudly told him I was a Nigerian. He kept quiet for a few minutes and followed it up with questions. He wanted to know if I was based in SA, bla bla bla. He became comfortable with me when he found out I work in Nigeria and only came to SA on vacation. He was excited and started telling me all sorts. I was really surprised when he asked if I was from a particular section of Nigeria. I told him where I was from and stories continued. A ‘few’ bunch are really doing a lot of damage to our name. I feel really sad whenever I am subjected to all sorts of ‘special treatment’ just because I am a Nigerian How can this untested personal experience that Nigerians are responsible for drug problems? My brother is in University of Cape Town doing his studies and research. Does that justify me to say that all Nigerians in RSA are book worms? Chief of pollice is a public official who's supposed to back up his statement with facts. He's not in position to talk like he's on facebook. |
A dimwit like Shagari or maybe Tofa in 93? I believe the reception Ribadu got when he came to Lagos for Gani's burial runs contrary to this belief of yours Maybe you could wake Gani up and ask him about the treatment he got when he was pursuing a case against Bola Tinubu. University of Chicago and Chicago Sate University saga. |
They were looking up on themselves as better educated than American trained graduates, led by Zik, Orizu, Mbadiwe and co – that is the truth. And who were the other groups? Graduates, Nwapa, Cambridge, make no mistake about it; Njoku, Manchester, London educated; my country man, Okoi Arikpo, London educated – London School of Economics; Ozoma; even Ita himself, having gotten his MA from Columbia University in the United States of America, came back and repeated the London MA so he used to be referred to as Prof. Eyo Ita, MA Columbia, MA London. They felt they were more educated and, therefore, a better bred to lead the new dispensation in the East; not this ill-bred American educated fellows from schools they did not recognize signs of the times. So there a was a time an ivy league degree from US was considered trashy in Naija? If these folks were alive today, i wonder what they would have said of our glorified secondary schools as universities. |
I don't need to prove he drove under the influence. U should not have brought it up in the first place. I was pointing out the fact that repeat offense could be be upgraded to attract a jail term. U never argued that careless driving would move someone closer to deportation. You started off by insisting that the guy in question must have had a DUI, now it's careless driving as written on the newspaper. |
If you drive in the UK without driving documents, it's a civil case. You don't even have to be in Court and the maximum punishment you can get is some few points off your driving license(when u eventually get it) and some sorta fine. This man drove under the influence. You are yet to prove that he drove under influence This man went to Prison for 5 months. Obviously, his crime was more than driving without a license. Can you prove more than what we have read from this newspaper? It seems you know more than what we have read from this article |
Would careless driving a couple of times constitute a criminal violation? Doesnt a judge have the power to up a sentence if there have several violations? |
e do dem like film trick. . .segun arinze isnt a degree holder. . geez, didnt knw dat What has a degree got to do with acting skills? So having a mech engr degree makes one a better actor? Yar'dua was once a university lecturer. CEO of OJ Productions does not have a degree, but he has more experience and connection inside and outside Nollywood. He has even made more money than most folks with degrees. |
eldee @ He was accused of careless driving a couple of times . . . he's a potential murderer. It's so obvious that the press is trying to play down the offences to sell papers Maybe this guy paid the press not to report that he had a DUI on his record? Time for FIFA,IOC and IAAF to impose rules that non-citizens should not compete for resident countries if they do not carry passports of that country. |
I wonder why you people are complaining. This is how we always deny everything until the chickens come home to roost. This is how we were perfectly happy idolizing these Yahoo boys in Nigeria until the foreign pickings became slim and they started targeting their own countrymen through ATM fraud Men lie, women lie , numbers dont. Give us some stats since he's a public official. Maybe he knows something we dont know, but a comparison is based on 2 known quantities. |
U are so fascinated by Botswana, the reality is Botswana is like a province to us. For example the Japanese Yen is stronger than the Dollar, but Japan is not a powerhouse. Stop talkin on behalf of Botswana, talk about your thirld world & untidy country It seems you are bereft of economic and global views? Yen is never stronger than dollar? Japan is a powerhouse, it has the second largest economy after US with less than half of the Us population. You talked about Black RSA being better than blacks in Africa, so you included all black Africans but RSA blacks in your statement. For your information, blacks in Nigeria run , own and control businesses. Most profitable businesses are owned by Nigerian blacks. Econnet Wireless is not as big as MTN but it was started by a black man- Strive Massiya in your neigbouring Zimbabwe when no blacks would own tangible real estate in RSA. Mo Ibrahim from Sudan started CELTEL and Mike Adenuga started Glo Mobile in Nigeria. I would like to know how black owned businesses in RSA have controlled investments in Africa. Your mentality that blacks in RSA are better economically than blacks in Africa simply because its RSA and Oppenheimer family is rich is delusional and utopian. Dangote group, a black owned business bought a 45 percent stake in South Africa's Sephaku Cement for 3 billion rand ($378 million. Its like saying the poorest person in the US will be the richest in Portugal. Unemployment among blacks in RSA is about 50% according to University of Cape Ecomic research. I marvel at RSA's infrastructure not at black ingenuity or economic sucess because it pales in comparison with what's obtainable elsewhere in Africa. |
It's easier to blame Nigerians for all the ills in RSA, but the truth of the matter should be who are the ones using these drugs. Its like US blaming Mexico and Colombia for its drug problems. RSA has a serious drug problem that their drug addicts are even HIV antiretroviral drugs. Maybe Nigerians are also involved in that trade too. Before, African blacks were taking over their jobs and they went on killing spree, now it's Nigeria has infested their country with drugs and has turned every1 into an addict. Next time, Nigerias will be responsible for r-ape and car jacking because some1 who is under the influence of drugs sold by Nigerians is 100% likely to commit carjacking or r-ape. Way to go officer. oakcha@ despiration should be desperation if we are takling about education. moderator Is r-ape a bad word that ur auto editor is changing it for me? which kin nonse be this one? Is this now a forum for primary school discussion? |
Sahara Reporters first told us about Stella Obasanjo's death b4 these so called newspapers were allowed to print that she had flown outside Naija |
I am sure you're well aware that Botswana has a population of less than two million having said that, you might be right when it come to all the GDP,HDI and all other measuring tools, but I have lived in Botswana and I know what I talking about. These indexes are not based on the number of people living on the edge or fabulous life, its a percentage of the OVERALL population. Now regarding the bold part,I thought the link was going to explain your theory but dosn't say anything,do you mind maybe explain how you got to that conclusion? You know some of us we're little bit slow, the after effects of aapartheid. Since Bostwana is a small country, has it occurred to u that RSA is less than 1/3 of Nigeria? If you are seeking for proof, show me any evidence to proof that any RSA black would afford a plot of land in Abuja or that poor RSA blacks would be kings and queens in other parts of Africa. ' |
Naija mentality We can kill a N100 million deal because of N200,000. So having N 000,000 is better than having N165,000,000 |
i think they deserve the bonuses they get (on assumption that they meet their targets) simply because if i am making my company and her shareholders millions of profits every year due to ma shrewd investments then i expect to get a share of that bounty. It's as simple as that If they could make money without my bail out, they should be rewarded, but since they are "making money" with my bail out, they should get nothing. If bankers think that they are really smart, let them go into invention like Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, and Steve jobs |
ACL/Grimaldi is the best cos they have docking station in Lagos. Most of these vessels do not have docking terminals in Lagos, so they wait in line to use any available dock station in Lagos |
U dont get it. Bostwana has a higher GDP per capita than RSA. Botswana has got a higher life expectancy than RSA yet they are timid and rural. It has got a better managed economy than RSA. It's least corrupt than RSA. What's your yardstick for measuring succuess? Botswana tops RSA in UN Human Development Index. The list goes on and on. "The beauty of a nation does not depend on its architectural buildings" Let me explain that 30% of Nigerians who are middle classs would easily out-run the whole population of RSA. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2102rank.html |
provide a context . what does he do? Are u guys having a scheduling conflict? Do you know his schedule? How many days/hours is he working? Is he going to school? what are/were his reasons for not seing u? |
RSA is a beautiful country better than Nigeria infrastructurally, but there is a difference between a stake holder and a stock holder in its infrastructural development. Also, more than 30% of Nigerians can fit into your middle status which is almost the size of the whole country. So, next time dont come here running your mouth that the poorest in RSA are the richest in black nations in Africa. Have you ever bothered checking how blacks are living your neighbouring country of Botswana? They outshine RSA in any measure of standard of living. Get your facts straight. |
some1 should stop this nonsense. This is an insult to the anthropological fact that African was peopled before any other continent in the world. |
James carville, a Democratic strategist is one of them. |
If Nigerians were the problems, why did they kill Zimbabweans, Malawians, Somalis and black Africans as if they (killers) were whites? It's a culture of intolerance and racial superiority. Why was Lucky Dube killed because his killers thought he was Nigerian? Maybe there is a de facto order that black Africans are as bad as racist apartheid regime. The reason why RSA govt is showing interest in Nigeria is becuase of Nigerian market and its potentials not that it wants to talk about human relationships between these two countries. I believe that these so called relationships are very insignificant. In foreign policy, nations keep interests and men/women keep friendships |
Nex please do not bring up information of which there are no facts to back up please. Total in Zambia, Shell and Chevron in South Africa, BP in African Countries, CNOOC in Sudan, are these companies operating in an environment where there's no free market? Where they produce and after that, their sale price will be fixed? No! They refine and sell according to demand and supply. If we stop dictating prices of refined products and allow the laws of demand and supply to shape the pricing of petroleum products, then producers will feel justified to enter the market U have skewed knowledge of free market. The fact that Nigeria has got NNPC makes the market monopolistic and regulated. Why are folks like u advocating only for downstream sector viz distribution of refined products? Why not deregulation in exploration, lifting of crude oil and distribution of refined product? Oil is the only thing Nigeria can deliver to its citizens without charging international price for it. Why would Nigerians pay NYMEX ascribed value for crude oil that is being dug up from our back yard. Garri cannot be subsidized because the FG does not control means for producing garri in Nigeria, but NNPC does in petroleum production in Nigeria. Could u imagine garri producers charging international prices for garri? FG is paying for the price differential because they have refused to fix the refineries or let others buy and fix them. US is the capital of free market, but AMTRAK-passenger railway is solely controlled and subsidized by the govt, power generation is controlled by govt in France. Eskom- power company in South Africa is wholly owned by South African govt. In the US, farmers get about 40cents for every dollar spent through subsidies. If petroleum marketers like OANDO could make $1.5bn in profits who says that there is no money to be made? Also why are major oil companies doing refining in Venezuela where it takes less than N1000 to fill a gas whereas in Nigeria its about N12,000? You are advocating for a govt that doesn't want to take any responsibility to be let off the hook for the problems it solely created. |
You talk about Babangida and the economy. Who were the people in charge of the economy during Babangida era? Olu Falae, Kalu Idika Kalu. What state are they from in the North? “We started the banking reform; the first thing I heard was that in Urobo land, that there will be a course of the ancestors. I said they (ancestors) would not answer. They said why? I said how many factories did Ibru build in Urobo land? So, why will the ancestors of the Urobo people support her? This is white-washed history from Sanusi. He is blaming southeners for a junta that suspended the laws of the land and ruled by decrees. maybe Pius Okigbo should also be blamed for first gulf war oil windfall that went missing or IBB's appointed IG. Maybe Humphrey Nwosu of NEDECO should be blamed why election results were not announced. Revisionist of history by Sanusi. I'm yet to see him give any major speech on micro and macro economic issues in the midst of central bankers. |
I think u miss my point. What I am saying is that although there are no facts to back it up but it is common knowledge that these fuel and generator importers are the ones that have been sabotaging efforts to repair the refineries and improve the power situation in the country because of their interest and they have a lot of influence on the policies been made, in fact sometimes, most of the time, they make these policies. Get it? I dont get it. OANDO's market influence and control cannot be compared to the power of an Alaba market importer who is worth $30,000. John Holt Plc is the largest distributor of power generators in the country while OANDO's income last year was about $3 billion with 50% profit 25% with capital cost. Just check John Holt's market share with Oando's . Anybody in Nigeria can import power generators, but importation of refined petroleum is controlled by the Presidency. |
I Never said anything about increasing royalties in Nigeria. I was saying that Venezuela increased royalties and yet some oil companies are still doing business over there. Total is doing refining in zambia, Shell, BP and Chevron are in South Africa. BP is in petroleum marketing in some African countries. China has got all the refineries in Sudan |
May her soul rest in perfect peace. We may have some reservation for Babangida because of his style of leadership or what he did and did not do when in political power. He however and his family remains human being created by the Almighty GOD to live and die at the appointed time. Everyone will DIE. So keep your grudges aside and pray for the soul of the departed one (that is, if it is true!!!). You people should use this opportunity to reflect on life and your activities. We are all in transition and everything in life is temporary. If you like do good or bad, you shall soon transit like those before you. Though how one live determine what people speak upon his or her death, Maryam has no fault except being the wife of a military ruler whom many see as as not doing things right when in power. God bless her soul. Just confirmed she is actaully dead, one of her relative just confirmed. GOD GIVETH GOD TAKETH, IBB TAKE HEART, though I may not like your style or some of the things you did while in power, but death is a leveller Dumbest post of the year. After all Hitler was created by God Almighty. Likes of IBB and his family made God to regret ever creating man |
