if you accept the allegation that Nigerians are arrogant; why dont you accept the fact that Nigerians are scammers, oil barons, corrupt and fraudsters. The very fact that a Nigerian is bad does not make a greater perecntage of Nigerians bad. From my personal exprience, these non-Nigerians will be the first to tell you so many misconceptions about Nigeria and they feel that you represent those misconceptions. A Somali had the courage to tell me that Nigerians are scammers even though his "country" if any has not had any government in the last 18 yrs. See Ugandans calling Nigerians all sorts of names even though HIV/AID prevalent in the country is very high. Most Nigerians dont tongue lash these folks, they will be the first to tell us of our evil. The reason is that average Nigerian knows that their country is heading in a wrong direction and very critical of the way things are going, but these folks do not in most cases talk about how bad things are in their countries. Another misconception is that most of them watch a lot of Nollywood movies, so they think that what they see in movies is how Nigerians really act. |
Even IBB admitted that he was presurised to step down. Dont even try to compare our struggle. Nigeria stopped in 1993 because of MKO. Lagos was desserted. Abacha was killed, may you need to read Soyinka's Memoir- You Must Set Forth at Dawn. Soyinka was in contact with Isreali agents that were responsible for Abacha's securiry gadgets. Can you compare IBB's 8 years with 20 years? I tell you a story of how an East African who was a bank teller treated a friend of mine. My friend pulled up to cash a cheque , this lady noticed that he was a nigerian, asked him to come into the bank and my friend did, all of a sudden cops were all over the place- SHE CAUGHT A NIGERIAN FRAUDSTER- teller told her manager that Nigerians were scammers that they should thoroughly check him out. My friends sells cars and sold one that day. So this created a big scenario at the bank. |
What has Yar'dua done in his state to rule Nigeria? Even Chris Ngige performed better than him. He has kidney problem and has not thought it wise to build a hospital that will cater to his medical need. He is a governor with the lowest number of JAMB applicants. may be he does not like education. WE are always praising mediocrity. |
May be you did not know that his initial capital was given to him by his father who was a treasurer in NEPU- Northern Elders People's Union. In the 70s he got about 750, 000 from his dad. At that time, N 5000 could buy a custom made Mercedes Benz. He even has a jetty in Lagos area where he offloads his products. How much does he pay in taxes for the jetty, only God knows. I still prefer him to our politicians who steal public funds to go and invest in Gambia. |
do you really think that Yar'dua and his cohorts will be any better? They are bound to follow the foot step of OBJ and ATIKU |
We are arrogant because of our courage and frankness. |
By not disshing appropriate sactions against these top civil servants, it reinforces the thinking that politicans will loot and go scot free. Yar'dua contiues the looting. |
taiye, I am not as close minded as you are. I prayed that Atiku would never rule Nigeria, but at the same time I believe that OBJ is as corrupt as Atiku. You believe that Nigeria is very difficult to govern, so Nigerians deserve less because OBJ cannot put his acts together? So Nigerians deserve less because OBJ appointed political cronies who stole public funds? So Nigerians deserve less because OBJ was forced to become the President? So Nigerians deserve less because OBJ and Andy Uba ferried money to the US with presidential jet? So Nigerians deserve less because OBJ appointed a minister - Borishade whose ministry killed thousand of Nigerians due to plane crashes? I still dont know why Nigerians dont see wrong holistically? If my papa is wrong, he is allowed to be free, but if another person's papa is wrong, we should crucify him. You had not wanted OBJ's name to be mentioned in that Senate Report. If OBJ, is not guilty as ATiku, what happened to about $200 billion generated by his administration. How did he build a farm that makes million of dollars annually? How did he build a university? Why is NEPA worse than he met it? MY POINT IS THAT ATIKU IS A FRACTION OF THE PROBLEM, OBJ IS A BIGGER PROBLEM, SO YAR'DUA CONTINUES FROM WHERE HIS MASTER -OBJ- STOPPED. |
@twinstaiye Its for self glorification that you would never think that OBJ is corrupt. Is OBJ your father? You believe that Atiku is corrupt but do not believe that his Oga, Obj is corrupt. So Atiku is the reason why NEPA is not working, Atiku is the reason why Tony Anenih spent $3 billion on Naija roads, yet we still have worst road network in the region. Atiku caused all the plane crashes. I have always known that Obj and Atiku are corrupt so I cannot believe in that report that was set by OBJ, TRIED , INDICTED and EXECUTED You need to wake from your favouritism. Crime is crime regardless of who is the offender. It does not serve you good to see wrong in Atiku's action and turn a blind eye on OBJ's dealings. |
call go bro. Ask Ugandans where dey dey when Idi Amin turn their country to personal property. Now their President Museveni is going after Idi Amin's foot steps. They are Lily livered people. OBj could not even change constitution in Naija. What some Africans hate about Nigerians is our courage and frankness |
It depends on what you meant by arrogance. One thing is very certain of average Nigerian. I will not let use boss me around. I had a Kenyan friend who always called Nigerians arrogant , until I told him that their EX President- Arap Moi could not rule Nigeria past 8 years. I told him they were weak and afraid to confront him and he ruled them for 20 some years. Look at what is happening in Zimbabwe; nobody is ready to challenge Mugabe’s authority. Nigerians will never let you boss them. We will always be the first to speak out. This could be construed as arrogance. |
atleast she admitted that someone younger than her was intersted in her, but she did not consider him a material, but a married man. I think she is fantazing about Mr and Mr Married comes in handy with these qualities she's looking for in any man. Look women can get laid any time they want unlike men that would have to go nuclear to get something. I believe that its not about SEX but comfort zone. Some women feel that someone who is beneath their class dares not see their pants. Do men really care about class? NOPE |
attend his wedding. if U are still single, go rent a fine bobo who go compliment you |
na by force |
@Afam Atiku was the head of the economic team and was in charge of the privatization of almost all the government controlled companies Didn't OBJ have the power to rescind any decision made by Atiku that was not in the best public interest of Nigeria? Didn't OBJ have El Rufai as head of BPE who never raised an eye brow on Atiku's dealings? If EL Rufai never complanied and OBJ sanctioned his son Gbenga for calling Atiku corrupt, then OBJ is also culpable and so is Rufai. |
I had an argument with a friend who felt that it be would better to give to the church than to needy. I believe that I should give to needy before church. |
bros, I am sorry to hear this news, but its not the end of life. Never lose hope, keeping leading your normal life because life begets hope and hope sustains life, so to live without hope is to sow without looking forward to a harvesting season. It may seem that end is nigh but, with anti-retrovial drugs it coul be be brought under control. I was doing some research on malaria only to find out that it kills more people in Africa than HIV/AIDS. Take heart. |
Nigerians are always mixing issues. Was DSTV boss arrested because of overcharging customers? What is govt agency doing in making sure that customers are not taken advantage of? Does Nigeria have Attorney General? the issues is that it wrong to arrest a CEO simply because his company is in conflict with a fellow competitor. |
naijacutie@ Goooood question. Knowing someone who knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that know someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone = God father = God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father= God father |
If the rights have been bought by HITV and DSTV were broadcasting these programs then by rights the appropriate authorities whoever they may be should stop DSTV gone are the days when might is right in Nigeria and yes,for those who have a DSTV subscription thinking they would be ablr to watch premiership and other such sporting activities that DSTV said they had the rights to show should ask DSTV for a refund because it seems they never had the rights to show these programs as such they are in breach. Only if HITV has the right to broadcast. They should sue DSTV and seek for damage not by using the police and politicians. I say more grease to HITVs elbow they have bought the rights and they should enforce it. If DSTV think thats not the case they can contest it. Why do we like to praise illegality? There is an appropriate channel to follow, why do we always want to circumvent the rules? |
Stereotypes about Nigerian men continue. Did these Nigerian men seek for information about you through a third party b4 making up their minds? Why cant you subject yourself to the same standard of observing his behaviour. I think there is a wrong notion that runs in this thread that Nigerian men are the same, and act alike, Why cant Nigerian men be considered as men or are they really less than real men. I have never seen a poster by Nigerian men wanting to know how to deal with women nor does it mean that they don’t have issues? Off course they do, it’s just that men have fallible expectation of women and women have infallible expectation of men. Nigeria has about 70 million men and they are always bulked together whenever it comes to a relationship. What happened to person to person basis of comparison? Are you trying to tell me that anonymous persons in this forum know these Nigerian men more than you do? If you don’t like and trust him, leave him for another "better'' man. Enough of Naija men. |
The One @ Who determines who has broadcast rights? Police, Nweke or courts? Has this case been adjudicated on in any law court of competent jurisdiction? Why can’t HITV seek redress in the court? They can obtain an injunction restraining DSTV from broadcasting EPL pending the determination of a substantive suit. Could broadcasting rights be changed mid season given the fact that DSTV has been a competent provider of EPL in the horn of Africa? |
Why does HITV need government intervention to survive? We don’t make rational arguments sometimes. Why doesn’t the government shutdown Shell /Chevron so as to make Zenon Petroleum or Sadiq Oil more competitive? This is all about supporting Nigerian companies. Did NITEL/MTEL use police to intimidate MTN, CELTEL, and GLOMOBILE? The point is that the Nigerian cable market is huge and untapped, so these two companies should strive to provide services to Nigerians at a competitive price. Closing one company automatically shuts down the competition. Intimidation from govt agencies will make HITV be like other Naija moribund agencies eg NEPA. Over protectionism kills businesses. Have we taken into consideration that some politicians own a lot stakes in HITV? |
how about Jero Shakpoke, Richard Owobokiri |
philip osondu, jonathan akpoborie, Keneth Zeigbo Isaac Semitoje, Nduka ugbade, Ndubuisi Nda, Emeka Ezeugo, Peter Anosike, |
Nigeria is a country of illegality. We intimidate people who dont agree with us by arresting them. Why doesn't Nigerian Broadcasting Commsion tell us what type of broadcasting license DSTV acquired. If we are talking about rights, would new GSM companies stop MTN, CELTEL and GLO from delivering services to Nigeria. DSTV and HITV cannot even cover the markets in Nigeria and government is already witchhunting investors. The same monopoly we accuse DSTV of, is what HITV wants. I know for sure that not more 10% of Nigerians have cable, why cant these two companies increase the number to about 30 million Nigerians by lowering their prices. The competition is good but not with force |
illegality does not beget legality. The fact that someone breaks the law and does not get punished does not make it legal. |
Some folks dont get and will never it. Who interprets the law that is consistent or not? INEC or judiciary? No arms of the government have got the power to interpret the law except judiciary, so for INEC to say what's constitutional is illegality of the highest order. |
so who set up the panel. Jesus? |
