Your enemy is not just APC, Labour Party, APGA or PDP, your enemies are people like you and myself. let's quit playing the vindictive, possessive regional party attachments politics in Nigeria, it is the reason why the wolves and vultures in power will continue to feast on our ignorance without ever been questioned, tried nor ever been brought to book. The ideology of the party syndrome in Nigeria is to divide and conquer. When we stand together as one in unity and progress, no party nor politician will ever have a minute grace to take Advantage of the teaming Nigerian citizen. Nobody will ever sell you a black plaque for white and gold again. In d mean time, let's all focused our energy on farming |

Top 17 Lucrative Farming Ventures in Nigeria And Africa In Order of Significance: Note: Before Anything in farming be it livestock or crop production, just be sure to Put in place security provisions on your farmland to prevent encroachment on property and safety of life. I have carefully chosen to put up these ventures in there relative other of importance or significance. 1. Root crops: Cassava, yam, sweet potato; investment in this dimension of crop production is the ultimate for tropical and rainforest region. The potential in this area is as large as $ 6 billion dollar in annual revenue per crop especially when further processing is incorporated to the last. 2. Dairy: there's a saying in countries as such as USA, Canada, and the rest of the developed world that after water, the most affordable consumables should be milk. Such essential is missing on the Nigerian or most African menu or consumable list. Such omission is the reason for very low mortality rate and account for stunted growth, multiple ailment as a litre of milk or yoghurt in Nigeria would be going for #800naira which ordinarily a litre should not be more than #100 naira per litre so that the greater number of Nigerians and Africans can afford it. 3. Cocoa: This is a venture already dying out begging for revival. its prospect alone is as huge as $ 10 billion dollars if the harvest precedes are further processed to finished goods like the regular bournvita and milo and the rest of beverages used by the likes of Nestle, Cardbury and Unilever. 4. Maize industry: The list of items that can be deduce from this item is endless. From Paper, books, custards, baby food, pharmaceuticals, poultry and livestock feed, food additives and corn syrup used in spice products, maggi, tomato paste, custards, medical drip, food thickener, sugar, oil products, general livestock and ruminant feed, corn is by far more significant than cassava but unfortunately in Nigeria, cassava production and consumption is king! 5. Groundnut, Soya bean & Oil Palm: I put this four as number two because even the multinationals, Dangote, Adenuga and Ortedolas are still blind to these four fields, think of your beverages, Milo, bournvita, Ovaltine, chocolate industry, fish feed, baby food, palm oil, groundnut oil etc, you could become the next billionaire in this field while your rest toil in other agricultural ventures cos only few people indulge in this venture because of its time commitment and persistency or consistency required. if your in this field then your on your way to start rivaling Nestle foods income and profit in Nigeria and in Africa. 6. Yam, Sweet or Irish Potato, Cocoyam, and water yam: This is another open market where you can make a kill and you will be amazed with your turn up in just a year 7. Vegetable, Mushroom, fruits, Watermelon, pawpaw, mango, citrus, pineapple, carrots, spring onion, Spice or Culinary & Maize Farming: This is no doubt the 4th most lucrative venture in agriculture. your vegetables, pumpkin leave, tomatoes, pepper, ginger, spinach, garlic and other items in this field is a get away field that requires less than a 100 thousand naira input on a large hectares and yet you are bound to make your kill. 8. Legumes & Sprouts: Beans, Honey bean, black eye peas, green bean, kidney bean, soybean, bambara bean, groundnut, melon seeds, all falls in this category. not only that this items ranked on number 5th are lucrative but with little or no vulnerability to perishability when duly processed so that your possibility of incurring any form of loss is omitted. 9. Rice, Wheat, millet & barely: out of careful analysis, rice farming is and has never been a Nigerian market, its a market that was sneaked in through the boarders and its bound to wane with time as there are surplus alternative to absorb the Nigerian rice market. For now who ever is going into rice production should understand that it is highly capital intensive as far as industrial or commercial production is concerned. rice is farmed by persons with capacity to farm wheat, millet, barely. if you can do this and break even the market, pasta mill and brewery will always find your audience and product welcoming with enough cash to smile to the bank. I must remind you that before you commit to rice farming, except your into brown rice production, likes of Bizness mogul as such as Dangote are already a million miles ahead of you to readily take advantage of this market while you contemplate it. So the earlier the better you know your competitor. 10. Plantain & banana: This is another but yet untapped promising venture in agriculture in Nigeria who production is only yet limited to Ondo, Edo, Delta, Osun and Ondo. this sector is by far yet been undermined. 11. Snailry: This is a huge market but yet still very much untapped as only mushroom engagements of it is visible in Nigeria. 12. Piggery: However controversial this venture is due to religious beliefs, piggery is still by far 2nd to snailery requiring one of the least input 13. Fishery: The fish market is still very much bigger than the beef market but unfortunately the market is still very much undermined by its producers and its consumers 14. Bush meat a great delicacy in Africa: is Guinea pig, rabbits & grasscutter: A big market with prospects but yet still crawling in Nigeria, with less than #180,000 naira budget, you can have a family of 2 male and 3 female to start with along with the aluminium or iron fabricated pen. 15. Beef Market: Cattle, Sheep, Goat & Ram: This is another lucrative market but always less demanding as poultry though it may seem readily hyphed as a venture for the super rich but the truth remains, its an open market just like the comparison of the cassava to the rice market in Nigeria, the market makes a kill more than the poultry business in Nigeria in case you dont know, in Nigeria, more consume more beef than poultry products yet these market is always short of supply to meet it demands. Think of cheese, butter, milk, yoghurt, hides and skin etc. 16. Poultry feed mill & Fish feed mill: Requires huge capital and great expertise for a competitive result in the market.Depending on bag capacity out put per day, you can have a #8 million naira, you will get one up and running. 17.Poultry: Obasanjo farms Nigeria (OFN), Tunsfarm, Zartatech and Folawuyo farms are still leading names in the Nigerian poultry business: Some of these farms stock up to 5 million birds capacity on each farm and produces up to 2 million high quality day old birds per week, have machines that processes 10,000 birds power hour for day to day market consumption, and also produces 100,000 crates of eggs per day. So when I hear people say they plan to build a 10,000 bird capacity to start a poultry farm, I just laugh but don't be discouraged the likes of OFN has been in the poultry venture for over 30yrs God humbles our days of little beginning. Start with whatever little you can get. To get things right in this market is best you may have start with a day old broilers in little quantity so that NOTE!!!! For a lot of you eyeing layers venture when it comes to poultry production, my advice is always that you should think it through over and over again before you venture into the layers poultry market before you start as the broiler market will always have a 3 times by far more comparative advantage over the layers business. This is the reason why most farmers who have attempted poultry farming with a first bad tasting and impression of the poultry market due to taking turns in layers venture. the poultry business is a waste of resources with sadistic tales because a lot are never realistic in the hype of their prospective return. Before you go into the poultry business, it is penny wise to seek experts consultative advice so that you don't have to throw your money to the wind!!! Be warne & be sure to make wise Agricultural investment! For those wailing that there's no job in Nigeria, I pray and believe that you don't want to wait a little more for your life to be shattered in the pitfalls and hard blows of recession, job swings nor to be called in the trappings of organizational restructuring. Our age of information has paved way for empowerment through mechanized farming and has quelled the believe that farming is for the poor. Stay sharp and be positive. Awesome write up, and in effort to contribute, I can't but make assertions where necessary as this write up lacks some details and as such not to misguide the members of the public on the viability of these Agricultural inclined ventures. As contrary to the write up as stated here, and with the parameters of low input in terms of capital and resources which translates to staggering output. A lot of us who often want a start in agric and are usually confused on which of the choice of venture to go by for a trial between crop and livestock, the honest truth is that crop production is by far more cost effective to dabble into as compared to livestock as crop production often requires little or not much inputs. 1. Cassava: remains in competitively top on the Nigerian market as against its comparison to the rise market and also open to low market entrants unlike the rice markets that requires millions worth of naira to land a footing in the market in the course of competing with governments, Dangote, ortedolas, Etc who have the shark like financial muscle to frustrate your effort and push you out of the rice market, for the cassava and garri market, its 100% open to all person from all social class of life. There are tons of processing market waiting to patronize such product in Nigeria. There's a popular cliche in Nigeria that says, "garri no get advert but they sell pass indomie" meaning you can never compare the sales and profit expected or made from garri to indomie and processed spaghetti and all pasta food items despite all its sales, adverts and promos. 2.Coco, Groundnut, Soya bean & Oil Palm: I put this four as number two because even the multinationals, Dangote, Adenuga and Ortedolas are still blind to these four fields, think of your beverages, Milo, bournvita, Ovaltine, chocolate industry, fish feed, baby food, palm oil, groundnut oil etc, you could become the next billionaire in this field while your rest toil in other agricultural ventures cos only few people indulge in this venture because of its time commitment and persistency or consistency required. if your in this field then your on your way to start rivaling Nestle foods income and profit in Nigeria and in Africa. 3. Yam, Sweet or Irish Potato, Cocoyam, and water yam: This is another open market where you can make a kill and you will be amazed with your turn up in just a year 4. Vegetable, Spice or Culinary & Maize Farming: This is no doubt the 4th most lucrative venture in agriculture. your vegetables, pumpkin leave, tomatoes, pepper, ginger, spinach, garlic and other items in this field is a get away field that requires less than a 100 thousand naira input on a large hectares and yet you are bound to make your kill. 5. The details on this list you will get on my thread related to this kind of topic. |

The deluding power of bottles. Drinking don't only make you deluded, it tends to brazen your courage for doing terrible things making you feel its normal. The habit of drinking has never created a clear thinking man but a man whose brain is full of delusions, without insult to any kind of tribe, why is there a rare kind of desperation among the Edo's, and a handful of South South with the rate and degree at which they perpetrate some heinous acts, harmed robbery, cult groups projecting a startling culture of honour, gun and clurbing duel and domestic violence, along with despicable cases of murder?? don't ask me please go and do your background check pls. I blv there is an education and culture deficiency somewhere. perhaps there's something someone is not teaching someone. This is not peculiar to the South South alone but among people who subscribe to fetish ideologies of get rich fast. Who is to blame for all these criminal inclined perceptions Our School is to be blamed for all of that, for every criminal minded youths out there, our schools are to blame for failing in their objective to educate the youths aright and allow everyone access to good education. When u ignore to educating the destitute, and the salvaged ones out there you never can tell someday when their demons might possess the beast in them to take out on you or someone you love someday. Its high time we had started taking education as a collective mandate and a serious business for all. |
