A local Bakery will frustrate you. In short I will most likely advice you to go the poultry way in a farm area where you can even use the poultry waste as manure. It's far batter than Bakery I think

Well, corrupt government or no, you cannot import fuel at over 300 naira, sell it at N165, pay a subsidy that does not cover the losses adequately, and even wrecks the value of the naira by depleting any forex, and expect enough of a profit to build , repair and expand existing refineries, or build new ones.

You cannot also use revenue from oil to pay for subsidy, instead of raising money from taxes to pay for subsidies and expect to have enough money for budget without borrowing.


Venezuela subsidizes oil to N40 per liter equivalent. They also don't have refineries and have huge debts, and lose billions of dollars to smuggling. Iran too does something similar. They also have huge budget deficits, and a debt that makes ours look tiny.

Corruption results from all the above.

If you're mentioning any country, just make sure it's an oil producing country and yet are importing refined products. Because we always find a well governed country to compare to ours in areas where they have to collect from the people but I have never seen such comparison in areas where they take care of their citizens needs. Such imbalance comparison!

Don't go too far, just mention an African country producing oil but import ALL her Petroleum needs. You're talking about the situation now but I am concerned about the remote and immediate causes of this subsidy scam.

Common sense will tell you that we have no business importing Petroleum products if we havd good leaders, unless you are not a Nigerian.
