Politics / Re: GEJ Killed And Jailed MASSOB Members Yet No Clamour: Why? by advocates: 2:55pm On Nov 14, 2015 |
It is obvious that pride, arrogance, miss calculation and mistake by the igbos that led to the civil unrest in the 70s is the same trend another generation of the Igbo youths with poor lesson of history is about to repeat. Over bloated sentiment over national issues that doesn't appeal to their political emotions will always be fought with riotous tendency. Memory has not failed us over the various role Igbos played over time in political matters that was largely condemned but favoured their interest has not been forgotten. (Kalu 1 million match comes to mind). In over all, they need to swallow their pride, come out clean and begin to build bridges politically. All this protest, apparently, is further creating more rif between other tribes and the igboes. I am from Enugu(not Igbo par say), and i'm concern over what the future hold for the east with the insults and infantry politics of sentimentality adopted by these people. When you spend good enough to discriminate others, tell me, who become your friends? The Americans as mighty as they are, need allied nations to survive. Time that should channel towards strategizing, is used to seek relevance through treacherous means, blackmails , lies and the back door. 1 Like |

You guys don't know what the Nigerian government is up to. The bail condition given is a calculated attempt to keep him there longer than expected. He can be a citizen heaven for all I care, for his incitement against the Nigerian state, he will be certainly punished. Until he spent years in prison, you may never learn that Nigerian state is bigger than an individual. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: CNN Breaking News:Tension in South East over Biafra agitation. by advocates: 11:32am On Oct 23, 2015 |
Desperation at it pick. We all know how all this noise will end. I tell you, igbos don't have the stamina to sustain this agitation. It goes beyond writing ireport junk to either CNN or other foreign media houses. This is an internal problem of greed, selfishness, penchant for crying wolf among the igbos which has nothing to do with oppression or the likes, and I suppose these foreigners know about this. I dare to say that, even if this agitation hooliganism is featured in the top headlines of foreign tabloids and media houses, what differences will it make? In Sri Lanka, some rebels(termo tigers), I stand to be corrected, raised arms against the government for many years but eventually, they were sent into oblivion. Foreign countries can never fight your battle. They may lean their voices on air to support or condemn the government in place for brutality and what a few, but expecting them to invade Nigeria for trampling criminal gang like Biafra is an infringement of the imagination. The success of Biafra is in going to war with the Nigerian state and not in the petty protest by miscreants disturbing the economic peace of the country. Only then the rest of the world will take this agitation seriously, and even at that, they must be able to defend the eastern territory from the Nigerian army. Secondly, is by adopting a peaceful approach, building up their cases bothering on marginalisation, senseless killing, economic or social oppression but as we know, these people don't have any of that in their DNA. You can fight for a separate state from a government you benefit immensely from. That is treason. i am from Enugu state not exactly Igbo, but it disheartening to every discern mind that the whole hullabaloo spells bad and miscalculated politics that in reality will turn the whole south east state as orphans in the eyes of future Nigerians. |

This goes to show that no state, tribe or region has monopoly over knowledge. It's shameful when some chest beaters will rather call northerners almajeris forgetting the same people in the past and of present have produced great minds and erudite that can stand anywhere. We must learn to respect each and stop empty boasting that further ridicule and expose our lack of awareness and comprehension. GOD BLESS NIGERIA. 6 Likes |

Politics / Re: Nigeria To Spend $25 Billion On New Infrastructure - Osinbajo by advocates: 10:36am On Oct 22, 2015 |
Exactly what we've been clamouring for. Massive infrastructure will not only provide jobs and position the nation to attract investors but also boost our local contents in terms of engineering. At best, all our infrastructures are either dead or outdated. Past government failed to realised that fixing infrastructural deficits is one guarantee way of displaying the seriousness of governance. Instead, recurrent expenses gulp most of the money meant for structural development. Good sign I tell you of good things to come. All we can pray for is to ensure we get enough private investors that will take interest in this partnership. This is foresight and leadership that must be supported. @asha, please stop mentioning refurbishment. What is there to refurbish? As it is now, this government is starting afresh because we can't point out to one infrastructural base that's worthy of refurbishment, except you haven't travelled out to assess development. If we must compete and be at par with the rest developed world economically, then we must discard these anciently built roads, rail lines, air ports and so on. The world has moved on hope you know that? |

A careful look at those calling the respected lady names are of Igbo extract who were not happy over her role in the bring back our girls campaign during Jonathan. It shows the deep resentment these worms of the earth harbour for anything that goes contrary to their opinions or views. .I pity these army of restive youths, always displaying the negativism build up in their psyche. No respect for elders, lacking in diplomacy and brazenly showing the unclothedness of their clannish tendency. You call him a lion, I call him the brave heart. No politician in the history of this country ever treaded the path of Amaechi. A man who abandoned circle of 'royalties' to align with the truth. He had the opportunity like Okpabio to be in the good book of the previous President, but he wave all that aside to stand for truth and nationhood. History will not forget him for his detribalised non partisan stance against a government associated with religious and tribal division. A government of lies, laden with corruption. The president must protect him against all odds and against PDP vampires and voodooism seeking to make him a laughing Stoke and nothing else. This scenario is created by the opposition to redicle Bubu's campaign against corruption should he opted for Amaichi. But no campaign of calumny will prevent Bubu from applying discretion in the selection of Amaechi. 111 Likes 10 Shares |

The report of his bail was mostly carried out by the Vanguard newspaper. When I heard it, I didn't believe it authenticity. I don't see the DSS letting the man go just like that not after the havoc he has caused. He is a terrorist and must be treated as one. The other part about meeting a bail condition to me is a fallacy pedaled by some of his supporters to calm nerves or rather to create the impression to reduce the weight of the seriousness of this treasonable calumny that undermine the peace and unity of this great country. The treatment meted out to terrorists same must be fully applied to this miscreants to weed off intended hoodlums in the future. 6 Likes |

I was almost convince that Fayose was the resurrected Ojukwu owing to the support and love the Igbos show him until this one. Definitely a bad moment for the Igbos, everywhere they turn to is one trouble after another. Lack of history, short memory and political tactic is responsible for this fallout. That moment you act before you think the result is bound to produce negativism and great repercussion. 1 Like |

And to think some imolites tried to sneak the same person to power is quite amusing. The prosecution may seem slow, but the delay may not be unconnected with the fact that EFCC is building evidences against perceived corrupt public officers. These evidences I believe will prove beyond doubt of their corrupt practices. I see some paid goons coming out to protest over this verdict. |

Well said op. There are many ways to murder rats(not referring to the Igbos). The collaboration of any foreign government against the Nigeria state is dead on arrival. MENDS and currently bokoharam received the medicine of their lives for braising up against the Nigerian government. All this online ranting to me is simply disturbance. What stops them from taking up arms against the military as boko boys are doing? Many fooools will certainly be used as shooting practice. One inconsequential miscreants woke up one day and decided to create an unnecessary attention. By the time the military finish with you, bokoharam will be a child's play. No territory of Nigeria belong to any region or tribe, if you fell disgruntled, the desert is a no man's land, you can relocate. But the unity of my country cannot be compromise. As for vanguard op, just a little time, it will learn the meaning of ethics in journalism. 1 Like |

Everyone can see the transparency of the tribunal and the speed judgement is delivered under the Buhari's government. The PDP we know comprises of men with all manner schemes and scams capable of turning election in their favour, but all of this is turning the heat on them and the rate they are going down suggest why Metuh took those swipes at the judiciary. It can't always be business as usual, and those who manipulate election I suppose are jittering at the moment. Expect more PDP members to have their election nullified as the tribunal continues their work. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

At this point you begin to wonder the essence of this whole disturbance. There are no better ways to achieve this succession plan than to ask all 'aggrieved' igbos to head back home wherever they have considered a 'zoo'. You cannot be in another man's land and threatens him with separation. These people will never learn from history. Same event like this caused one war lord out of ego to lured young men into dying prematurely. Every secession crises boils down to a reason. But this one is pushed by pride and whatever else. The government should treat them as nuisance disturbing the very peace of the nation. Not every Igbo support this madness, and the earlier the few ones come out openly and disassociate from this miscreants, the better for all. |

There are too many corruption cases that I'm beginning to get concern if Efcc would not become overwhelmed to handle all of them. I suppose, this is not the first time that young man was invited for questioning, but nothing concrete has come out of it. I believe this time he's gone for good. Somebody just have to be use as a deterrent to drive home the point about the seriousness of this campaign to route this menace from the country. I have never trusted that man. Gbenga Daniel is also someone who has gotten his hands dirty to and EFCC should go after him too. |

Nice Femo. The question of being selective doesn't concerns us. We are more interested if due process in this whole trial is followed. Metuh has nothing to fear if he feels those pdp under investigations are incorruptible. All these hullabaloo by Metuh is an attempt to create distraction and diverse attention from the actual fight. The rot in the economy today was masterminded by the same people Metuh is trying to defend. I wish there is a law to hound anyone who ignorantly defend perceived corrupt public officers. |

obayaya:Now I know where you stand. A government built on discretion doesn't just go by every public outcry especially in this scenario where it is clear that the objective of the accuser is to 'detect' for the president who is fit for his cabinet or not through their unproven allegations currently before the court. Any government that always allowed public outcry to stir its ship, will soon crumble. Every action in a morally right government is taken in the interest of the majority whose morality coincide with its morality. |

obayaya:The President at this time is guided by wisdom to weigh the consequence of Amachi's nomination. Like I said earlier, the President and well meaning Nigerians are aware that this is a scheme hastily orchestrated by certain organs for political gain. Only the unlearned and perhaps those with primordial intent will find occasion to discredit the corruption campaign. The President can not at this point allow the disgruntlement of these few coax him into going against what his subconsciousness adjudged to be morally right. 1 Like |

Any discern mind can sense foul play in the hasty conclusion of this kangaroo panel /commission of enquiry set up primarily to condemn Amaichi. The timing is suspicious, the allegations, Burgas and questionable. Mr. President is not a non starter. He understand the handwriting. The desperate measure by these people to pitch him against Amaichi and his ministerial ambition. The overall attempt is to indirectly discredit the President's stance against corruption by pulling unverifiable facts accusing Amaichi of corruption. Secondly, to them, this is pay back time to a man who single handedly wrecked as much havoc as can be imagine within the PDP camp. Overall, the court is there. No amount of falsification against Amaichi will prevent him from being made a minister. 2 Likes |

I feel embarrassed by those who hailed former President Jonathan for conceding defeat like he has done us a favour not minding the show of shame that greeted the post election period. So disgracefully that a supposedly professional and sensitive military was compromised. Not to talk of media houses that made it no secret to brazenly maligned the President's name. What is democratic about Jonathan's acceptance of election defeat? The postponement of the election is an impunity that displayed a man who was desperate enough to clinch to power even if the whole country burns down. Yet some misled, social miscreants, tribal warlords and gullible youths will have no shame to. call him democratic. This only goes to shows the stinky level of partisanship and clannishness that characterised our political land scape. Those who used the instruments of government to fight the president and those who unjustly allowed themselves to be used have been well chronicled and a deserveably punishment will be meted out to them. We all know how some of these western media houses love to discredit Africa especially Nigeria, for fear of the unknown. The challenge lies in our government to put them to shame by setting up our own BBC and CNN. Let NTA be scribed.
