lecksam:I applied there. English taught. German language course not compulsory. Maybe it's the course u putting in for. |
@Kolombo88 The website of Rhine waal should have the answer to that your testas question. Except someone here applied for your same course that can share his/her experience. However, I know that Rhine Waal requires Testas for their MSc in Mechanical engineering and it was clearly stated there. So read up on the requirements of that particular course of interest. I'm sure it will be there stated if required. Cheers |
Bamstar007:That depends on the bank. I know the rates are not exactly the same but don't be surprised at all if the rate is a little above aboki rate o. |
UltimateTipster:Sis, on this one, no one has an answer. I'm in your shoes. Na risk. It's your decision. I've seen people who booked last week and say they got August date, Sept. How about someone that booked just 2-3 days ago and got early July. Now tell me, if u book now, no AL yet, and they give u June 20 date for example when AL never show? Make your decision sis |
Bloodeagle:OK. It has English has language of instruction for MSc. July 15 is application deadline. I guess it's application online. Wish u the best |
Bloodeagle:What course are u putting in for? |
Omoawoke:Don't get it wrong. RUB, MSc Materials science and simulation, application does not open in June. It actually closes June 15 |
Form A discussions. Get it clear. All these banks are in business. CBN rate is definitely not aboki rate. All banks do these Form A thing. And they source forex from CBN and Co. They will tell u the rates per day. Ofcos all banks can pay school fees and transfer monies using Form A. The rate won't be aboki rate. But the thing is, when jungle mature, they will tell u forex is scarce and that there is a waiting list of plenty customers. So if u can wait, (it can be endless), it can be done. These are realities in banks. But ofcos if u are in the category of wanting it urgently, u can open your dom account, buy from aboki, fund your dom, and the bank moves it to Germany for u. So, do people truly get these low rates from banks, True. All na function of time. But I can bet u, the majority go thru aboki Am sure experienced guys on the platform have explained these transactions very well here. |
Raheembisi:If figures haven't changed at Goethe institute, A1 registration is N55k. Then the exam is N12k. But if u come as an external student and feel u can blast the exam without classes, they will take N20k from u to write the exam |
dharamanil:You need to at least mention your school. So that if anyone was out from there they can share with you how they pulled thru. It's however sad that a school can be saying they only send transcripts to only academic institution. It's simply annoying. What if my employer wants to sponsor me on further degrees and wants to see what my record as bachelor's was like? All these rubbish conditions that Nigerian schools are putting people thru. Na be go the school. Even if i no dey go anywhere else, can't I personally request to see my academic records? Please mention your school. You will see someone that will give you a way out here. |
@Armstrong34 Countless airlines can take you to Germany from here. When your AM is out, visit any air travel ticket company, and check prices (bcoz cost certainly varies for various airlines to same destination, for various reasons). Then you make your choice. |
sassy92:1.You can seriously prepare and write this exam in 2-3weeks. You can. A few days later, the result is out. In the exam hall, all you need is absolute concentration. You go do well. 2. Communicate with the school. Some schools even put in on their web if they don't allow multiple application. |
Quidaquo:You need just your 100 level transcripts to apply for BSc. |
Ndaife:Your are right that your BA funds is for living expenses. Accommodation and co monthly. However, it's my understanding that u won't access that BA on first day of arrival. So it's natural to want to have some cash at hand to sort yourself pending the day u will fulfill the requirements to get your first pay out from the BA. Seniors there can tell us more |
Gewezzy1:Fine then. Go to www.daad.de Try peruse that site very well. You can filter and try check out various courses of interest in various schools. I'm sure u will find a lot there. Then u can check individual school sites of interest. |
Sedatylo:Yeah but if any at all, she can give it a shot. |
Gewezzy1:Law has been very uncommon on this thread if I'm right. Last time I remember someone mentioning law I think it was said it requires a sound knowledge of German. Can't even recollect the school mentioned. Someone remembers please help out. |
Gewezzy1:Germany mostly have tuition free schools. However, they require you to have means a survival. Living expenses. So they expect u to open a blocked account in Germany. 720euros/mth=8640 euros. Little charges can make u round it up to say 8800euros. You move that money to Germany and the money is released to u monthly for a year period. Sponsorship Letter is obtained if u have someone in Germany who will stand as a sponsor for u. By that, the person will approach the authorities there and present necessary requirements and the letter is issued and sent to you for visa purposes |
deph:1.8 |
Cestmoi1:If you have 3.95/5 here, that's equivalent to 1.7875 or approx 1.79 on German scale. And that's a very high grade by German standard with 1.00 best and 4.00 least |
@Goztino Smiles. I understand your point. Trust me, no where in the world is a job 100% guaranteed. No where in the world. You just take your chances. We all take decisions and live with its consequences. We do what we can bro and leave the rest. |
sleekybabee1:Yeah both requested SOP. I tried checking Gottingen. I'll read it up though looks like there's a German language requirement hidden somewhere there. But will read it up more and see what they require. SOP, no worries |
@sleekybabee1 As per recommendation, it's my believe that not all schools require it. However, if u find a couple of schools that require it, they will probably want to reach the referee on their own thru an email u will provide(of course others might not be like this o) So recommendation letters can be directed at a school particularly not "To whom" because To whom can be a reference to say for mathematics MSc. What if u also get another course of interest that needs a recommendation? If u get what I mean. |
sleekybabee1:Saarland Uni, Julius Maximilian Uni If you find more, please I'm interested too. Reach me. Thx |
Bamstar007:Smiles. You need to check well o. Read thru the school site well on how it goes. My mind tells me you will pay from here. BA na separate thing. BA na majorly for living expenses o. Not for school fees. That's my thought anyway. I could be wrong. |
mbambah1:Wow! I hope you will get someone who has had this exact experience to give you an answer o. I imagine it will be a tough one. U will need to prove u won't change your mind again to Germany IF you get that money back, since the visa is on your passport already. If truly you don't want to go again, get back to the embassy, ask them to revoke that visa (lol) then you push to get the money back. |
emeka2103:Google Goethe institute, Lagos. |
heroshark:If the people organising the conference will handle your accommodation, it's great if they can indicate OT on the letter. I guess that can cover for the accommodation requirements because you will normally need an hotel reservation for a schenge visa. Also, when I say ticket reservation, I qctually meant flight ticket reservation. And reservation most times is not full payment. Just an intention of date. Some embassies will infact tell u not to pay for a ticket yet until visa is issued. Don't know the exact for Germany. You actually need to peruse German embassy site. https://nigeria.diplo.de You are heading to Germany. All you need is on that site. Read thru it |

From the little I know and the information you gave here, you will be applying for a Schenge visa. The short duration one(probably max 3mths) since what you are going for is a 3-day conference. The requirements will certainly require the documents that prove you are going for that conference, health insurance for that period, ticket reservation, etc About a ticket to Dresden, it might not be easy to answer that question except I say that general airline tickets are cheaper on some airlines compared to others to same destination. Example: a Turkish airline ticket to any location in Germany from here is generally cheaper compared to say a Lufthansa. Also an Ethiopian ticket will generally be cheaper to an Air France ticket. I will advise you check up some popular travel ticket sites and probably put in your desired desired departure and arrival points, that can give u an idea of average cost from various airlines. |

Same course in same school, I doubt it. Saw a school that even said u can apply to just one course in our school and not two. Some will sure allow two. But same department, for MSc and BSc? mmmm Other answers folks |
obibanks:I believe the pair up is just about the cost of moving the documents there. Courier/postage stuff. You certainly can't pair up application cost like the €75 to uniassist. Don't get it mixed up. Thx |
lavicollins:Yes. However, you got to do some ground work first. You got to decide what your target course is, look out for your targeted schools, check up the "specific" requirements for the course in the schools you see. Then you will have a clearer picture on the steps you need to take. |
