Great one @Ndydy. A whole lot to pick from what you shared. |
Timmyone:Ok. |
Timmyone:What was your bachelor's degree? |
Congrats to those with the latest AMs |
Great testimony you have there @heybaby12. I pray a lot of us here get such testimonies to share on this thread this very year. The best is ours. |
Well said sis @heybaby12. I echo a line from you again : This is not a business thread. It's all about information here. And also it's good you can fact check on the information also. The best is ours folks. |
chimax1:Right now, as we speak, October never even reach. U definitely can use it. That's my opinion. I even have a TOEFL I took way back 2016 Jan wey don "expire" abi? I no send. I go use am for one or two schools even though I also have English language proficiency letter for places that accept that. |
This platform is an encyclopedia. Even at that, one needs to still fact check. Nothing wrong with that. It's good as far as information is concerned. However, whether someone is in or lives in Aso Rock, 10 Downing street UK or 16000 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in DC or wherever, how is that a variable in your own equation? Let go of some stuff folks. |
Brtrue:The little I know. Anything school will require IELTS(academic module). The other one can be for work or immigration stuff. A past post talked about IELTS/TOEFL. I once did TOEFL (got 91) and I think concentration is critical. Full one. U miss a few things and u will know right in the exam hall u have blown it. I believe same will go for IELTS also. U just got to prepare well. Prepare well and whichever of the two won't make a difference. Got no answer to your first question. |
Big congrats to everyone that had their AM and visas. The best is yours as you arrive DE. |
adudu208:I don't have any experience. However, the little I have read about, you can first apply for your normal student visa. When u get there, application can be made for family, even as a student, as long as you meet the requirements. One major requirement is financial, they will expect u to have some specific amount depending on the size of family. Of course they will expect u to have the right size of accommodation for them naturally. Like I said, I have no experience, but I've read something related to the question u asked. And like someone just said, making your student visa application and at the same time making visa application for accompanying family, even if all the resources are available, might look like relocation to them. |
dailydolar:Alright sir. Smiles. Thx |
@Adeniyii2017 Alright then. Thanks |
Adeniyii2017:Well noted. So, with your explanation, let's look at one example. MTH 101, has 5 credit unit. A first semester course at OAU Ife. Classes say like thrice a week for one semester. How many ECTS will that translate to? |
Adeniyii2017:No worries. It's ok to be wrong. I'm sure open to get the right info. Like I began my previous post, "I think... " was my thought and what I acted on when faced with what the equivalent of ECTS is in our own system. Please enlighten us with the correct position. A lot of us have plenty schools to apply to still. Thanks |
Pecky2222:I think the ECTS is the same as our credit units here. HUT, Hamburg MSc Mechanical engineering & Management (first time I will ever here a combo of engr and mgt) is one of my targets. They required me to fill a form and these ECTS thing came up. They needed me to fill a form and throught my bachelor's I must have 24 ECTS of mathematics courses, 24 ECTS for mechanics related courses, 56 ECTS mechanical engr/ design courses and so on. I took out my transcripts and found all these requirements within the 5 sessions I was at OAU Ife. So to me, where they wanted 24 ECTS for maths courses, I had 27 credit units in all for all the various maths courses I took. 56 credit units for those in mechanical engr / design. So, my opinion is based on that. |
chy73:Good morning. I wouldn't mind the book and audio. Don't know how to pm o. I tried but I saw a NL message there |
Electricboy:TestAS is just like Jamb here. It has two parts. First part is called core test module. Then depending on the course u plan for, u choose a second module from engineering module, natural science/naths/computer module, economics module and humanities module. The test is written every month in Germany, but outside Germany it's just about 4times a year or so. It goes for 80 euros and can be written at the Goethe institute Lagos or Accra. But ofcos not all German schools require it. So just check the requirements of your targeted school. I was planning MSc mechanical engr at Rhine waal for winter 2019 and they specifically requested for testas. I'm looking at other schools though. |
horllamy:Ok I'll reach u in probably a week or two. I'm in Lagos. If u are, what area of Lagos are u? I believe I picked ur no here earlier but u can let me have it of u don't mind. Thanks |
horllamy:HP Compaq 610 Screen is bad, how much is it? Battery also bad. Once light goes, laptop goes off. How much is it if u have? And probably the keyboard too. Some keys are missing. |
dynamix234:I'm hoping to get relevant comments about that. Thanks for highlighting it. It's been a couple of days I posted it. |
Thanks for the emphasis I love to hear people's comments on it Doktajay5: |
Congrats to @chuddysambo and @amahbrain as you both await your AM. @chuddysambo transcripts was comical though. I'm wondering, with the line of questioning by the VO: are u married? are u sure? do u have kids? even if ....? Na crime for family man to try attempt a German study visa from Naija? Comments welcomed. Thanks |
mrsmba5:Please get a new original with the stamp then. That stamp is critical to it. My school gave me a student copy with the same stamp and signature as it is on the original. Cheers |
mrsmba5:The little I know: When sending transcripts, most schools will on your behalf put it in a sealed envelope and send it to the address u provide for them. Some schools also when u apply for transcripts for the very first time, they will give u a copy. That copy also bears a seal and signature. If u have such a student copy, I believe u can make a photocopy of it, and certify that photocopy and send it to uni-assist. I have a such a student copy from my school and that's what I plan to use for uni-assist. Please if that's wrong, those who know better, please correct me before I blow it. In the absence of such a student copy, I think u can just request a transcripts from your school to "to whom it may concern", pick it up, then certify of photocopy of that. |
Totally on point. I'm very new here no doubt though read up on all parts from the beginning and felt it's good to be a part of this. Me thinks this forum shouldn't even be a fighting forum or name calling and all that stuff. Quite very frankly, information I've gathered here, I don't think encyclopedia is even better sef. Also, I've seen a lot of post advising that we read. Trust me, YOU GOT TO READ. PLEASE REEEAAAADDDD!!! I wish I can shout it. You will sure gain a lot and I'm not saying there won't still be questions, but you will surely be a step ahead after reading. Whether you are yet to apply like me, whether you are already in the process, whether you have done your interview and waiting AM, or whether you are even already in Germany, I wish everyone of us the very best in life as we carry on with our stuff. Good morning and have a lovely day. By the way, if interested, MSc Computational Engineering at Ruhr University needs no uniassist, no VPD, probably just a letter from your school that your study was in English is about the key thing there. New folks like me, let's keep searching. Some schools are open for winter already. Eldeee: |
I'm looking towards TUM for winter sahm4u2nv: |
Thanks for your response. I also felt that exam should before bachelor's. If I can drop that school, I will. I will surely consider TUM and Ruhr University for 2 different courses. I hope for the best for the winter. Cheers Opinionator: |
My first time here. Been a guest and seen the thread from part 1-5. Lovely thing you folks here are doing. It's an encyclopedia here, for those who like to read. Before NL, I took interest in Rhine Waal university of applied science in Kleve against winter 2019. MSc Mechanical engineering. They want IELTS/TOEFL by force. Then there this exam I've never heard of TestAS. Making enquiries told I could write it at Goethe institute Lagos and if Lagos isn't a center, Accra is the closest. I never read anything like that here. Anyone know what the exam is like? Past questions or something? I've also not seen or read any other school making it a requirement. I won't mind any info as regards this TestAS. Also, on this school, I'm looking at a PhD outside Germany later on, will I qualify? I read outside NL that some schools MSc in Germany don't exactly qualify to go in for PhD. Please if you have info as regards this also, I love to know Finally, I'm also looking at Technical University of Munich - MSc Computational Mechanics for winter 2019. If there's anyone along that line, we could have a lot to share. Danke |
