Whatever floats you boat my man.
Not totally unexpected coming from someone that just made a serious allegation about abusing people only to be reminded that the allegation is 100% wrong with more than enough written content to prove it.

One more thing, making a mistake is not a crime but running away from it or ignoring it when pointed out goes to show what you hold supreme in your life. I hate liars and people that side step issues when they falter all due to sometimes overbloated ego.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Alleges That Obasanjo Wants To Rig Polls by Afam(m): 4:41pm On Feb 14, 2007
Yeah, that's correct but does not still mean OBJ wants to rig the elections as each state can effectively rig the elections within that state without the support of the FG.

Afam,
It's very easy for you to sit way up there and say that they should channel their grievances to the authorities. But like Orikinla rightly said, you need to go right inside the creeks and stand face to face with the MEND guys to tell them that their leaders in the Delta are the ones to blame for their ordeal, to deal with the situation.
No sir, I do not need to go to the creeks to tell them that. Feel free to send my comments to the trash can, I am only expressing my opinions.

I am from the South East and I dare say that the South East is more neglected when compared to the South South in terms of federal presence, scholarships and placement in various oil companies etc.

However, the issue is not about the South East or about OBJ's actions which does not make sense to me, it is about MEND and the tactics they use.

Kidnapping people and demanding for ransomes is criminal. They should hold their leaders and governors responsible first because calling the FG just as the average Igbo man is not sitting down and waiting for the FG to come and develop the South East.

If you must fight, fight those responsible for your problems, no innocent person has to die for any reasons whatsoever, that is my take on this issue.

Enjoy.

It seems that all the politicians that are not in PDP are already nursing such fears even when they do not have credible reasons to backup the claims.

Luckily for us, it is not perculiar to Nigeria and many politicians claim rigging when they lose out in elections.

I see you want a fight. I am really not one to do that with you. You answered my question about Israels right to exist and it was satisfactory. You must have me confused with someone else by saying i attacked you, when? I stand by all my statements and please read my last post again with an open mind and see if you get my point. I notice you go around iinsulting people that do not see things your way. It is a recipe for failure. Trust me.

My last post addressed all what you said in diiferent parts that is why i have them separated.
The statement in bold refers, you have exposed yourself as another highly subjective and irrational poster.

I have never insulted anyone on this forum for disagreeing with me or for having contrary opinions but I have always responded to insults in kind and I do not have any apologies for that as I have a right to respond to people in kind.

You may need to go back to every single thread where you have seen my insults and make a decent attempt to know when insults were introduced on the relevant threads.

Again, for making such a wrong statement (and believing same to be true based on clear bias) you are certainly not different from the same people that choose to see things from just one perspective.

Thanks for the advice but I do not value advice from people that lie against others for whatever reasons.

I knew you would come down to this and you did not disappoint.

Make no mistake about it, there are people on this forum that I almost never agree with and yet insults have never been part of our disagreements just as there are people that feel that anyone that disagrees with them should be insulted and as for me, I never let such people get away with such insults, I always send them back to the originators.

So much for your objective analysis and conclusion.

Well, since we seek clarity could please in one or two sentences summarize the essence of your posts as regards this thread?

It seems my response that I support the right of Israel to exist has completely shattered your basis for attacks.

If you believe that one's opinion could vary without being right or wrong what's your headache with my positions based on clearly spelt out reasons?

If you have a hidden motive put it down and I will address it, beating around the bush is something I do not have the time for.

This is what bad people do all over the world - twist issues, make simple situations complex so that they can sell their warped positions that defies all forms of logic whatsoever.

That the world is in the present state of insecurity is based on the reasonings of people like this who will effortlessly promote injustice, hatred, kill and maim others and later turn back to complain of violence or terrorism.

The good thing though is that what goes around comes around and anyone that promoted hatred and injustice will certainly reap from the same hatred and injustice wherever they may be, its just a matter of time.
PoliticsRe: Face Of Extreme Zionism by Afam(op): 12:01pm On Feb 14, 2007
A public forum can never be a substitute for proper education.

Now, even people that roundly brand arabs or moslems as terrorists are coming to defend comments made by a drunk Israeli claiming that the lands were promised them by God hence they can go on seizing lands.

I hate people that are neither cold nor hot, people that are ready to swing to any side of the debate depending on the direction of the wind, people that do not have shame in what they say and the frequency with which they change them. It is really disgusting to read comments that are neither here nor there and yet the same people will accuse others of taking a stand based on reasons made clear on a forum.

4play,

For the simple fact that you are wrong in over 80% of issues you involve yourself in I will not be wasting time on your posts that swings like a pendulum. Posting no be by force, if you don't understand an issue learn or read or better still take a nap. Intellectually you are near dead.

The problem i have with your argument is that you claim to believe in the existence of both Isreal and Palestine then also claim that for peace to exist Isrela must withdraw to its pre-1967 borders. Those of us that can see beyond our noses know that the ULTIMATE aim of palestinians and the arabs is to completely wipe out Isreal as a race and not merely to withdraw to any pre- borders.

How do you reconcile that?
To begin with, believing in the existence of both Israel and Palestine is one thing and also believing in the withdrawal to the pre 67 borders is yet another and a very important part of the mutual coexistence.

Put differently, you can never guarantee peace in the region with Israel holding on to the seized lands in 1967 and I am sure you are aware that Palestine recently rejected any form of temporary border based on the proposal to setup a Palestine state with the present borders.

As to what the real intentions of the Arabs are or how you know them as a matter of certainty there is very little I can say on that because I do not read minds and do not base my judgement on such assumptions that may end up being wrong.

@Afam,
you are really paranoid, not surprised at that with your glaring anti-semitism. [chei! check out "delusion of reference" on google grin.] I read your posts, the responses to yours, and I was referred by 4play to other posts of yours on other topics. I can see that the same insanity, aggression and half truths that you are now displaying is characteristic; schizophrenics don't like being opposed. For somebody who would wish death for another person simply for disagreeing with him, you can rant and rave all you want. The most obvious fact now is that: you, AFAM, seem to be a well-known pathological liar and a racist bigot. You are a disgrace to wisdom. But it's great you are being confronted and exposed from all sides, that's the first step to your recovery.
The egghead continues. Do you really know the real meaning of racist bigot? Or are you borrowing the words because 4Play used them before even without a proper understanding of the meaning?

As an Igbo man from Enugu state I think your statement about being a racist bigot is completely useless and can only be made by someone that lacks real knowledge on what he is talking about.

Please take time to learn what you do not know and don't grab and paste what others write because you may just be as clueless as they are.

Tomorrow now you will add religious bigot believing you are making sense.

I am sure the stats goes to show that you are either an imposter or a senseless dog.

@Buluti,

You can continue to play with words but the facts remain that the onus lie with the CNN to change their earlier reported story not me. That you cannot live with that is certainly your own cup of tea.

Like I stated previously, you have boxed yourself into a corner where you cannot even freely contribute on issues unless you are trying to "correct" Afam.

This is what happens to people that feel they know it all and whenever their mistakes are pointed out they feel so terribly hurt that they either withdraw into their shells or use all forms of attacks on people that have disagreed with them or exposed their sometimes shallow thinking.

Keep playing to the gallery.

@Orikinla,

My sincere condolences on the death of your mother.

It sure seems that you have a good reason to hold on to what you believe based on past experiences whether we agree or not.

I am with you on MEND especially when you made it clear that kidnapping of innocent people should be out of it.

My position is this, if you have a problem to sort out with anybody, do so and do not harm innocent people in the process.

MEND claims it is fighting for the rights of the Niger Deltans, it is a good thing but it must face squarely those responsible for the state of affairs in the Niger Delta and with all sense of responsibility I will say that the state governors in the Niger Delta should be held responsible before you start calling the Federal government.

On the oil companies or oil revenues, I am sure you know how the proceeds are shared and what actually goes to the venture partners. I have seen where youths in Eket demanded for settlement from an oil servicing firm that wanted to repair a road and of course the firm took the equipment they hired away and who loses?

Apportioning blame properly will go a long way in remedying the situation. Pushing relevant information to the people is key.

It seems that you cannot make a single statement without making reference to the originator of the thread, really disappointing.

I guess it is a bad thing to attach your ego to your posts because when your posts don't make sense it affects your ego too.

I stand by my statements based on what was reported live as breaking news on CNN. If you cannot swallow it then take a hike, I am not hear to create excuses for CNN, I stated what was aired.

Lest I forget, I hope you will be able to tell the difference between my personal comments and statements attributed to other sources as it seems to me that you don't know which is which.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Is A Better Alternative To Yar'Adua by Afam(m): 6:28pm On Feb 13, 2007
Yar'adua

On Sharia - Sharia was introduced in Katsina state through the House of Assembly and that is 100% in order as long as the people want it.

He stopped using government funds for pilgrimages to Mecca which is a good thing.

He is the only governor that has returned over N6B budget surplus when the other governors are busy squandering funds meant for the state.

Buhari

On religion - He clearly canvassed for moslems to support a mioslem candidate in a presidential election in Nigeria, not an ideal candidate for the presidency in a multi religious nation like Nigeria.

He backdated a decree just to justify the execution of 3 Nigerians that carried hard drugs even when the penalty wasn't death.

He overthrew a democratically elected government via a military coup (which translated into IBB, Abacha and Abdusalami eras), therefore he doea not deserve to benefit from an institution he does not believe in.

Conclusion

Based on what we know of these two men, Yar'adua is a far better product to market.

Theere is also nothing wrong for the president to follow him about in his campaign, it is normal.

I hope this doesnt offend you. Do you beleieve in the right of Israel to exist as a State?
Of course I do.

I also believe in the right of the Palestinian people to exist.

I am concerned with the injustices and land seizures and not against a people.

If someone seizes my land or my father's land simply because he is stronger or is supported by strong people, I shall fight till death to get what belongs to me and that is not too different from what is happening between Israel and Palestine today and this gives a lot of people cover to carry out hate ideologies they may inherently have, merely using the Palestinian question as an excuse.

Peace can never be achieved by the use of force and a lot of people are realizing it the world over, equity, fairness and justice will help a great deal.

Once again, I believe in the right of Israel to exist as a nation and the right to defend itself but oppressing others and seizing lands will naturally result in my losing any sympathy for Israel.

This life is way too short for people to spend it creating and managing enemies.

Were the Fillipinos also paid to act by Jeff Koinange?
He has just confirmed to the rest of the world that we pay journalists to carry "independent news" in Nigeria, because that was his first salvo to discredit the report.(well that's true, anyway). How unfortunate!
And what's your point?

It is a known fact that media organisations can either pay for a story or be paid for a story.

I also buy the minister's story because in the footage Jeff talked about contacting the MEND leader through the email (not that he was contacted) so how and where did he get the email address from?

How would Jeff and a camera man hire a speed boat and head to a location that is not even known to the military without somone aiding and directing him?

How come Jeff claimed the leader of MEND sent another email before he got back that the group he met is a different group and that his group is not responsible for the kidnapping.

So, how did the MEND leader know that Jeff had already met a group even before airing the story?

We should be able to do critical analysis of everything we choose to debate and not rely on the easy or convenient route of blaming the government and assuming that everything said against the government must be true no matter how incorrect.

For your information, I have lived and worked in PH, Eket, Bonny Island and Warri. It is sickening to hear people blame the FG for problems in the Niger Delta and at the same time support their leaders that shortchange them and squander the money meant for development.

The FG will certainly not open bank accounts for all the Niger Deltans neither will it provide jobs for the people of the Niger Detla. The blame game is becoming embarassing.

Where did the kidnappers get the money for the arms and ammunitions they are using?

Orikinla:
If you want to see the naked truth, come down to the Niger Delta and face the wrath of the people and not on the internet.
Wrath of the people? As long as no single charge has been brought against Yar'adua even though he had led a state for close to 8 years in this corruption infested Nigeria, he remains the best choice based on the candidates that have been presented thus far.

And the precondition for the recognition of the state of Israel is well in order. Withdraw to the pre 1967 border.

Also, without the creation of a Palestinian state there is very little hope of peace in the middle east as the errors or deliberate actions of the past will always provide the fuel for militancy and promote hatred towards Israel.

If only the world will be bold enough to do what is right and let peace reign in the middle east and of course without the over bearing US involvement in the region.

By the way the alliances in the arab world today is not unexpected as Iran is not an arab nation and Syria has the support of Iran (they are more or less very close allies) so having the 2 outside the agreement as regards moderate views is nothing new and totally expected.

PoliticsRe: How Can We As Nigerian Citizens Stop Rigging? by Afam(m): 12:07pm On Feb 13, 2007
It seems this issue is being looked into by many people these days.

A former presidential aspirant was in my office and the same issue came up and after discussing the doability of this especially as regards every single election result from every single polling station (he says we have 120,000 of them) and collating same, it became clear that funding may be a problem.

Why? We assumed a N5,000.00 fee for media representatives (since individuals may never get a copy of any results as verbal/oral information may not stand the test of time) and that means you are looking at N600,000,000.00 and a possible N800,000,000.00 or N1B.

Will the government foot this bill? Very unlikely since the government may be interested in rigging the election in the first place.

As stated before, only the government can stop rigging, we can only expose it by making available results as they come out without waiting for INEC that may doctor the results during the collation process (when many must have gone home thinking that everything is ok).

It is very very possible for Nigerians to know the results as they come in in real time, maybe this alone may make the INEC think twice before it agrees to doctor the results.

Any Southern presidential candidate in the forth coming general election thinking of winning the presidential election is joking and it is either the person does not understand the country he wants to lead or he is too selfish to face reality.

Even though things like rotational presidency, power shift etc are undemocratic we cannot do without these things for now in Nigeria.

It is not a question of whether Utomi can be a good president or not, it is about the timing and the timing to my knowledge is way too wrong.

Little wonder all the major political parties tactfully zoned the presidency to the North in the interest of assuaging the North as regards rotating power between the north and the south.

As for the PDP flag bearer, if no one can bring up any charge of corruption against Yar'adua even though he has been a governor for close to 8 years now then he remains the best candidate for the job, whether he was selected/annointed by OBJ or not.

@4play,

I cannot split open your skull and force you to understand basic things.

That you even concluded that people may have been killed from what you read on this thread goes to show that you are intellectually deficient.

The statement about entering mosque was actually made by CNN presenters.

Again, that you have an online version of the same story that was reported live that is different does not make the initial report wrong. If anything, CNN should be berated for broadcasting news that are not correct.

At least, the time the thread was posted and the time the online version of the events came up will show what came first and unfortunately reproducing the video clip with the breaking news story won't be an easy task so I leave you to continue to write like a deranged human being.

It seems the statement that someone was better off dead is giving you sleepless nights, serves you right. And sincerely speaking, some people are better off dead because, it is a fact of life but not that I expect you to understand this though.

@Batu,

10 posts, 5 posts in religion section, 2 posts in politics section and a total of 4 posts on this thread goes to show what catches your fancy on a forum like this.

Without wasting time on you, I have this feeling that you are regular user who may have been banned and is using another profile. Make sure you don't expose yourself too soon because you are already using exact phrases and same warped comments that have been used on this forum by someone who usually have something to say when the issue is Israel or the US.

When cowards hide behind screen names and probably using multiple profiles to post on forums, it goes to show what stuff they are made of.

@Texazzpete,

No wahala.

But why do you keep labelling as "stable" some countries with nuclear weapons? What defines stability? What makes you think that the US will not use nuclear weapons if they choose to just as they used atomic bombs on 2 civilian populations (the only country to have done that)?

Nuclear weapons should be totally gotten rid of or every country should be allowed to develop them.

Does the NPT really make sense if all it takes to develop nuclear weapons is for a country not to be a signatory?

I cannot understand the logic behind Pakistan and India owning them even when they are enemies and have been fighting over Kashmir while Israel owns them but countries that are more or less termed enemies like Iran, Syria, Iraq do not.

Why place nuclear weapons in the hands of a country (Israel) and deny its enemies the opportunity to own theirs?

Do not tell me that Israel is a stable country because it just finished waging a war with Hezbollah.

Fair play, mutual respect and equity are all important if we want to see a free, peaceful and prosperous world.
