PoliticsRe: Iran's Nuclear Programme Is Like A Train Without Brake And Reverse Gear by Afam(m): 10:40am On Feb 26, 2007
@FACE,

At a time I thought I was reading my own post.

I am with you 100% on this and as a matter of fact it is what makes sense.

No one should own nuclear weapons or everyone should be allowed to own them.

What is the essence of the NPT when all that is required for Iran to get the US and IAEA off its back is for it to opt out of the NPT and become like Israel, India and Pakistan that are not signatories and can develop as many nuclear weapons as they wanted without anyone paying attention to them.

I hope that many will be bold enough to call a spade a spade and let Bush and his fellow war mongers realize that he is turning the US into the most hated country even by non arabs and the world will be a whole lot safer without him at the helms of affairs in the US.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran by Afam(m): 9:27am On Feb 26, 2007
Hi Bankole,

Long time, happy new year.

Nuclear weapons are weapons of mass destruction. Why develop them if you don't plan to use them one day?

If the US could invade Iraq based on outright lies and today people are being killed everyday as a direct consequence of such illegal invasion, what will stop the US from using nuclear weapon against any country tomorrow?

Do not forget that the US used atomic bombs in 2 civilian areas in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (the only country that has used atomic bombs against civilians in the world).

This is akin to what obtains in Nigeria today where the friends and relations of OBJ that are corrupt are not being indicted for corruption while his perceived and real enemies are. Is this right? Why complain about selective fight against corruption and support a policy that turns a blind eye when certain nations develop nuclear weapons and say no to others developing same.

No country can be trusted with a nuclear weapon so this issue or maturity and stability do not apply afterall both India and Pakistan have fought wars and are still not yet settled on Kashmir yet, sometime in 2000 the 2 nations (not signatories to the NPT) became nuclear nations within 2 weeks.

Today, they are talking peace, they both have nuclear weapons and yet none is threatening the other because they are both armed with the same weapon.

It is wrong for some countries to own them and at the same time prevent others from doing so.

Meanwhile, on Iran, there is no single evidence that they are developing a nuclear weapon. The current accusation is based on fears expressed by the West especially the US and of course Israel. Now, when has the right of a nation become subject to the feelings and fears of another?

Enjoy.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran by Afam(m): 7:03pm On Feb 25, 2007
And why would nuclear weapons in the hands of Isreal be ok while asking Iran not to develop one.

Why the double standdard? Why the hypocrisy?
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran by Afam(m): 6:23pm On Feb 25, 2007
The many lies of the US especially under the current administration have become serious liabilities and the earlier Bush is taken out of the political life of the US the better otherwise it will continue to be despised and loathed by a lot of people and nations.

At least the Iranian president has promised to stop enrichment of uranium once the West stops its own enrichment and I agree with him 100%.

It is either we rid all nations of nuclear weapons or every country should aspire to own them, there is no middle ground on this issue.

You know, I think you're right. No one is complaining about the japanese dudes who use only their languages and hardly even know that english exists. The president speaks cut-and-join english yet no one is complaining. I think Pidgin is OK.
Hi Spade,

There is absolutely no reason why pidgin english should not be our official language as almost every Nigerian understands it.

What is the essence of communication if the parties struggle to understand each other?

Those that can speak english language should do so, those that cannot do so should speak pidgin english and if they can't they should speak their native languages and use interpreters like others do.

Compete with what or with who?

So countries like China, Japan, Russia etc that promote their native languages are not doing well, is that what you are saying?

Why would one brag with a foreign language?
PoliticsRe: .Ng - Help Promote This Domain by Afam(m): 6:42pm On Feb 23, 2007
Even though you have changed the heading of the thread, subsequent replies still have them but for the one I am replying now.

Changing the heading and claiming that I have obviously misread you is unfortunate.
PoliticsRe: .Ng - Help Promote This Domain by Afam(m): 6:11pm On Feb 23, 2007
Website owners decide the domain extensions not visitors.

You are even posting the message on a website with .com extension so how do you want people to promote .com.ng?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Is A Better Alternative To Yar'Adua by Afam(m): 6:08pm On Feb 23, 2007
If our biggest problem is corruption then all well meaning Nigerians would support a man that has led a state for 8 years without any single charge of corruption, a man that returned a budget surplus of over N6B.

Why would Nigerians want someone that carried out a coup, sacked a civilian regime, execute Nigerians based on a backdated decree to rid the nation of corruption even when the person spent just 2 years?

This is neither logical nor helpful

I am suspecting that this is a grand design to throw the entire country into confusion. They are playing out a script.
I believe so and the painful thing is that they are all taking Nigerians for a ride but that ride may as well be their last.

It seems that these men will rather watch Nigeria burn than for then not to have their way.

Unfortunately, not a small number of even educated Nigerians are buying what they are selling without a serious thought on what lies ahead or how what we do today may ultimately affect what happneds to us tomorrow.

I pray that May 29 comes quick quick so that we can see under what imunity these men can hide and say what they are saying today.

For all I care OBJ is corrupt but for spearheading the EFCC selective anti corruption war, he has already left a mark that no one can do anything about even in death.

@Nigeria1,

Is it that you do not understand the question or that you don't know the answer?

With all you have claimed to be on this forum, not being able to answer the question is a big blow to your already dented and bruised image.

A lot of people want a better Nigeria so you are not alone.
PoliticsRe: Obj, Yar'dua, Jonathan And Other Indicted! by Afam(m): 11:50am On Feb 22, 2007
Where else will such news be posted if not Daily Sun?

Can't wait for the current immunities to expire and we shall know what's up with these people, for now they can hide and scream but after May 29, they will most likely be dancing to a different kind of music.

Please, respect and let her state her opinions. If I was the moderator of this forum, I will ban you for insulting a lady.
I don't think you have what it takes to become the moderator of a busy forum like this.

In reality, people like people have no place on any decent forum for the simple fact that insulting people for having opinions that are not aligned with yours is enough reason to ban you for life.

Get real, people will readily give you what you give others and crying won't help you, neither will lying about who is insulting who help you either.

I thought it was OBJ that selected Atiku (while he won the governorship seat in Adamawa) to become his running mate due to the fact that he was late Yar'adua's political godson.
PoliticsRe: EFCC Probes President Obasanjo by Afam(m): 6:53pm On Feb 20, 2007
Ultimately, Nigeria and well meaning Nigerians will benefit from the creation of EFCC.

Infact the best legacy OBJ may be leaving behind is the EFCC and I thank him for that.

The main purpose of this strategy is to keep folks quiet by leaving ICPC active and implementing a real political tool (EFCC) for the president.
EFCC is God sent, we shall remain grateful for this creation, at least today one can say there is hope in Nigeria and the corrupt Nigerians understand this too well.

Afam, I am not surprised.

I put the blame of the Internet. A place where people hide under aliases and insult others just for the thrill.

Even if the moderator read your post and take appropriate action, you will probably sign up again with a new name and continue your acts.

You are here to satisfy a burning ego, and that is to insult as many people as possible. Stupidly, you are insulting nobody than the screen names like mine.

You don't know me and will NEVER. So continue and lets see if that will improve or increase your status and ego.
You are a complete idiot.

Unlike you I make use of my real name on any discussion forum I choose to use. I do not hide under screen names like the one you are using.

I deal with a great deal of people from this forum.

You are right sha, we need to blame the internet for allowing silly things like you to hide under screen names to insult others, animal.
PoliticsRe: The Real Difference Between ICPC And EFCC? by Afam(m): 6:05pm On Feb 20, 2007
@BigB1,

Regardless of the shortcomings of the EFCC it is very clear that the it was both a necessary creation and a useful one.

I guess the EFCC was empowered to take actions whereas the ICPC were almost inactive.

Similar? Yes. Any need to have created the EFCC? Yes.

Try to get in touch with you so as to speed up the process. You think he is an egg head like you who decides what is right or wrong based on your warped sense of judgement, silly thing.

Maybe I have not been banned because I am only responding to idiots like you who insult others for disagreeing with you and later turn around to cry like babies when they are responded to in kind.

Thanks. I am open to ideas. Anything that makes sense can be implemented as it is all about data manipulation and as a programmer there is basically no limit to what one can achieve based on what people want.

The link may be taken as a framework for the project and anything can be built upon it. Remember, this is a 12hrs work more or less.

I am only replying your nonsense because some users may not know the history.

Unless you are blind you must have read where I have stated over and over again that I have never insulted anyone on this forum but I have always returned insults to those that send them my way simply because I have a different view and no apologies for that.

I hope you enjoyed the one I sent your way after your lies and insults when the lies were exposed?

We don't need professors in english language and illitrates in development of the country. We need good leaders.People who can move the country forward. Good english should be of advantage and not a condition to be a president.
Have you read anywhere on this thread where it was stated that good english is a condition to be a president.

All we maintain is that he should communicate in a language he is home and dry with and not necessarily embarassing himself and Nigeria.

Put up or shut up? I thought that line of thinking is old news.

No, I do not have any information to present on the issue of Katrina, I wasn't even involved in it because I have better reasons to blame Bush for his many blunders. So, I do not have any business looking for content to oppose your links. I was bothered that only 2 surveys in almost a year apart could come up to defend such a position.

As to the insult issue, I guess you are turning a new leaf now as you now realize that the best way to respond to people you disagree with is not the insults route. Welcome to my world.

Seriously though, I still believe you have complete faith in Bush even with his many blunders and it doesn't look good to me as the man's many blunders are too obvious.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran by Afam(m): 3:40pm On Feb 20, 2007
Na wahooooo. Two surveys, almost a year apart to support a position. Now I guess it makes sense to assume that only 2 surveys were carried out in the US since Katrina.

The other time I was asked to go and see a survey on page 51 on a website that I have never heard of to see how Iraqis prefered the carnage to the state of affairs under Saddam.

There is always a support for something whether it is right or wrong, please do not use isolated cases to make a case that is too glaring.

nowpublic.com is exactly what I have in mind, a user generated news site but with focus on Nigeria.

There is no feature that I can not implement as I write codes from scratch so if it can be web enabled then I can do it.

I also believe the design could be better but I guess my focus now is the functionality and model for the site.
