You made a post on the webmaster section about not making money online and wondering if you have wasted money browsing the internet and I did post a reply advising that you must be ready to provide correct and relevant information before anyone can trust you with his/her money online.

UPS and inverters are different.

UPS involves a 3 stage conversion process and cost more because basically all the components are working all the time.

Inverters can be manual type or automatic and even with the automatic all the components don't work all the time, when you have regular power the inverter unit simply transfers the regular power to the loads but with UPS the loads never see the regular power.

Now, your inability to understand the differences I pointed out in the post before this one is certainly your own wahala not mine that is why I have not bothered to revisit your comments on them.

I only provided further information on the difference between the 2.

Can you do us a favor by not saying things you don't understand?

1. There is a huge difference between inverter and UPS

2. UPS in most cases are modified sine wave, very few are true sine wave

3. The battery is not a component of inverter

4. UPS come with integrated batteries, you don't get UPS without the battery inside

First, learn how to change the title of the original website you tried to copy.

How many times have you bought anything online?

If you don't usually buy stuff online what makes you think everyone will now send money your way unless they have a very good reason to.

Before you can make money you must be able to provide services or products that people need, not what you think they need because you cannot force them to part with their money.

Hardware or software, opportunities abound everywhere, just be focused and make it a point of duty to have relevant and correct information about anything you want to talk about, it helps a great deal.

It is not a good idea to mix batteries of different age.

Wet cell batteries don't last because they are not built with thick plates so they cannot without frequent charging and discharging cycles, get deep cycle batteries.

Doubling your battery bank without paying attention to the charging algorithm may not increase your backup time as your battery bank may never be fully charged from the day you hook everything up.

I will certainly consider doing just that. I agree that call for website reviews often lead to invitations for personal attacks rather than the website in question.

I take criticisms well and I equally handle insults well. I practically effected all the changes pointed out by hanen while responding appropriately to his personal attacks.

What I have found out is this, only people that are not good in web development will resort to attacking someone about a project as no good web developer will spend time focusing on the person rather than the website.

Like I always tell people, TALK IS CHEAP, WHY DON'T YOU WALK THE TALK?

I plan to get an inverter in a few days to power, LCD, Dstv,Laptop and about 6 energy bulbs. I was recommended to a chap who said I should get 1.5Kva and his price, 170K it includes installation, 2 batteries, stabilizers.

Do I go ahead, and is there a brand name i should look out for.

Any warranty on any imported inverter is useless because if something goes wrong the cost of shipping to the manufacturer and returning same to the user even within the warranty period in some cases will be more than the cost of the inverter.

Look for inverters with support you can rely upon should something go wrong.

1.5kva 24VDC system can handle the loads.

You do not need a 3 kva inverter.

N170,000.00 is on the high side but again price is really not the most important factor in inverter backup systems.

@Web designers,

Make it a point to have atleast a personal website if you don't want to own a business website, it just makes sense.

Many people that may require your services would appreciate it if they could look at your websites especially when you are not around to cajole, confuse or convince them (trust me this happens a lot in face to face transactions).

Any prospective client that ever walks into my office to talk about inverter ends up paying for one because 70% of the time the office will be on inverter since PHCN will often disappoint. In this case I need not convince the person as he is actually seeing the thing work.

I believe my2cents have done justice to the site as regards review and I agree with him on all his comments.

If you guarantee that all the pages on that website regardless of the number will have a consistent look and feel then you will be home and dry.

Also make sure that you have a logical navigation that will make it easy for the visitor to know exactly where he/she is relative to the rest of the website.

Decide on time how you intend to update the website because properly maintaining a website is not an easy thing especially when you need to add, update or delete content.

Thanks for the comments on the search box size, the link to my site and the line spacing. All have been corrected but for the flash on the home page.

1. When you say the content could be better arranged what exactly do you mean? The client specifically insisted on the design the way you see it based on another site he liked.

2. The comments on Timmy are in order, he only got responded to in kind and if you are objective enough you will know that I also stated my mind just as you felt he stated his.

3. My skill as a programmer is not the issue here and even if it is I have every right to feel good about it for the following reasons;

i. I can program anything both web and desktop applications using just PHP and MySQL
ii. As a developer I can replicate any website based on design simply by taking a good look at the website whereas the best web designer out there cannot replicate a website that involves programming if the person is not a programmer.

So, your comments on www.justnigeriaentertainment.com are well noted but should I feel bad for developing sites that are more of dynamic and interactive than design as in colors, graphics and backgrounds? Certainly NO.

Talk is cheap, why don't you walk the talk? If someone is not getting it right as in the www.justnigeriaentertainment.com website why don't you lead the way by developing a better entertainment website, after all I am sure you would have done so if you had the necessary skills to make it happen.

I can authoritatively state that Interswitch is not making profit as we think due to the high rate of ATM Card fraud. They are still surviving because insurance companies under write most of these losses.

If the true state of the ATM card business is known to the public today the use of card will suffer a huge setback trust me.

From day 1 I have maintained that is is wrong for Interswitch to tie a card that could be used online to someone's primary account, way too wrong and senseless.

www.afamite.com was setup as a pet project and people started talking about buying the website. Of course it has not been sold because of the price.

While I believe that Nigerians can indeed develop applications that could rival even the best in the world today I must state that the market unfortunately still prefers websites owned by foreigners to those owned by Nigerians.

What is facebook doing? Allowing users to signup and create profiles that are searchable.

While I will still redesign www.afamite.com I believe one with a better potential will be www.justnigeriaentertainment.com as it intends to cover anything entertainment and all the codes for these sites were written from scratch which gives one 100% flexibility over what can be achieved.

Delete some of your email messages and ask people not to visit your website often (because that is what eats up the bandwidth) unless you are ready to upgrade to a comfortable plan.

Get reliable hosting plan from a service provider.

Cheap and sometimes lean space and bandwidth may wreck your business.

As regards the problem proper, it is either you have exceeded the bandwidth allocated to your plan or that other things like email accounts may have grown to the extent of exceeding the 5M allowed.

Seems you are generally new on the web so can excuse your comments that are neither here nor there.

Why would everyone be misunderstanding you? It is either there is something wrong with you or something wrong with us.

It's obvious that there is a brewing romance between some web developers and Digital Nigerian Politicians.Web design contracts are now easy ways of siphoning government money via over priced web contracts with little or nothing done on the actual website.

So, what gave?

I remember when you told some web developers that they were hungry and may not have encountered life changing contracts.

Now, it seems that some are now encountering them and it is an issue.

NB: Every job paid for should be completed no doubt about that. SO, I am not defending anyone that collects money and disappears.
