Racoon:If it was that important, asl yourself why Ojukwu, Orji Uzor Kalu and other popular Igbos that ran for the presidency could not win the election in the zone or why Obasanjo did not really enjoy the support of his people. If that was the case why are people in both regions not considering voting for Kingsley Moghalu and Fela Durotoye. |
Since Atiku became the candidate of PDP for the presidential election billed to hold next year, there have been a lot of talk about who he should pick as his vice and even though we knew he was most likely going to pick from the South-East. There were some dissenting voices that felt that he should pick from the SW in order to win the Yorubas over and these people felt that the SE will vote for Atiku either way. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but where the Atiku's VP comes from will not make any difference because like i stated sometime ago, the election will be won in the north and not the south. It's also important to note that southerners are not moved by the fact that a VP is picked from their region. Yorubas did not vote for APC because Buhari had a Yoruba deputy. They did so because the structure that is APC which is headed by their Leader asked them to do so. if Buhari asks them to vote for Atiku even without a Yoruba vice, they will sway towards him. So, if Atiku has picked a SW vice instead of Peter, it wouldn't make a single difference. Igbos would also still vote for Atiku irrespective of who Atiku picked. Forget the threats by some Igbo groups. |

A lot of people, including myself have been very happy that Atiku won the PDP primaries and will face-off with the current President, Buhari in a keenly contested presidential election. But i think depending on what happens from now till the election day, this election may come second to the the one in 2015 in terms of competition. As much as i'm hoping that Atiku carries the day, there are some things that are making me think that a lot of people, including myself may just be disappointed. Even though, i think Atiku will do well in the southern part of Nigeria, I put it to every that next year's election will be won in the North, more specifically, Kano state will play a key role in who wins. When i saw the number of registered voters in Kano, i was seriously SHOOK. Let's not forget that Buhari has a cult followership in the core north. I'm yet to come across any northerner that does not support Buhari. Mind you the ones i come across are the educated ones and i dare say that they're the minority in that region. The average northerner is sold on Buhari irrespective f his policies, whether good or bad. Even though Atiku is a northerner and will challenge Buhari to the northern votes, him winning will depend on how much votes he can wrestle from Buhari. if he can manage to pull atleast 40% of Kano vote for example, i think he stands a pretty good chance. But i won't hold my breadth on that one. Let's wait and see who comes out victorious. My heart say Atiku, my head says Buhari. |
I think the biggest problem facing Ndigbo is stupidity of its youth. Only few people like Pazensia and Pabloafricanus are enlightened. Some people are yet tonne cured and sanctified from always attaching themselves o people who don't give a fvck about them. |
Abagworo:Immaculate Royal in Owerri. |
obi1kenobi Does come across to. Me as an Igbo person but a self hating one. There are Igbos who are. Critical of their own ethnic group but when you have no single positive thing to say about where you come from, I call it self hate. However, I won't lie, I see some truths in some of his commentary but I think it's a bit too much in my opinion. |
One thing I realized about the places where Agbaje beat bode, the demographic composition was different. |
I want to see how hey will succeed in Owerri. It's funny how they ignored Porthacourt. |
Please, does anyone have an idea who owns Immaculate Hotel in Owerri? |
I'll be back to comment on this Anambra Vs Others thingy that has been going for like forever. |
SamuelAnyawu:Ohh, yes, I heard he's the owner. |
Rochas's Imo state is hosting Miss University Africa in November https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2apmVrw8bE |
Abagworo:You're talking about the original Owerri but cities are not hamlets, they grow and expand with time. |
Abagworo:Owerri, just like most cities in the world are artificial creations, so most towns around it are part and parcel of the city. |
Barcelona is just too strong for Tottenham. |
LuciferKristi:I think they should be coaching teams in the championship and 3rd division. All premiership clubs should be filled with foreign coaches because those English coaches have nothing to offer. They're so average that you can't tell some of them apart and the club they coach. |
B2mario:I've noticed that we Igbos don't think big. We're always myopic in our thinking, that's why someone can say that Obosi and Orji are not in Onitsha and Owerri respectively when cities outgrow their current limit and become bigger with time. As far as i'm concerned Owerri stretches as far as Ogbaku in Mbaitoli Loca government. Let's think big and stop making our cities look like little hamlets. |
IbrahimDamola:When I was in Mauritius, I took a trip to Rodriques Island and one guy just called old me "O boy, how far". I get worried when Nigerians start arriving wherever I want to enjoy my peace. Can't I just be the only Nigerian in a place? |
IbrahimDamola:No island is virgin as far as Nigerians are concerned. |
On what channel please? |
Abagworo:Is Orji not in Owerri? |
SoNature:Shouldn't that tell you that it's a function of individuals rather than political party? Though I also agree with you on APC continuing in Imo state but just because it's Ugwumba that they are presenting. The guys in PDP are old and washed up. |
As much as I'm embarrassed for people like bestview, I think what he said about Enugu people using Anambra dialect may be true to some level. Unlike in Owerri where you hear people speaking Owerri dialect in conjunction with central Igbo. In Enugu town people mainly speak with central Igbo which is very similar to popular Anambra dialects. For instance when Nnia Nwodo was addressing Asaba people at the remembrance, he was speaking pure Anambra accent. Though you wont see a lot of Enugu people using "Fancha" as opposed to "Hancha" but what they speak is very similar to Anambra dialects and I think it's because of the fact that Enugu was influenced a lot by Anambra people. After they used to be one state. |
Afobear:That's true. They came for their grandmothers burial. |
Only if we had Nneka Ogwumike or at least her sister. |
What kind of threat is this? |
Jarus:I stand corrected. |
I've been seeing PDP has been won, APC has won since the first page. Can you people just shut it and let INEC announce the final results. |
Why are they holding on to the Osogbo results? E be like say water don pass garri. |
This has got to be the closest guber election based on the results so far. Please can anybody confirm if the polling votes won by PDP so far are in the same senatorial district as Ede. |
