The cinema thingy you stated quite beats me too. Why Genesis closed shop in Polo Mall is still strange. What with the urbane and elevated life Enugu residents live. I was still home last Xmas and was super impressed with the mindset of Enugu residents.Lots of diasporas were around but there prevails a sort of influence. Having said that,I think the New Conference Center which was once stated here the governor intends to complete fits into the bill. With the Conference Centre and Hotel Presidential in the pipeline of being completed, there will be some elevation and high net worth attracted further to the city. I also recall Chimaroke started building multiple complexes (Medical School,Hospital,Hotel,Recreation centre and Civic Center) along Rnagers Avenue using Marlum Engineering Company before EFCC swooped on him and confiscated all those iconic projects. Not forgetting Rainbownet and Cosmo FM.I just wish all the aforementioned alone at least will be completed and handed over to reputable facility management companies manage and evaluate. They are capable of elevating Enugu further.I hope the espionage of Gburugburu who peep at this thread will take this vital intel to him. It is time to run governement like a business.
I also think the same thing about the conference center. i think it will contribute in giving Enugu a facelift. There's something about Enugu that i can't seem to get my hand on. I think it's re;ated to the fact that despite the exposure of Enugu residents, they tend to be conservative unlike people in Owerri. That's why the only cinema in the town can just close down like that.

Your father is a comedian.
PoliticsRe: . by Afam4eva(m): 6:12pm On Aug 31, 2018
I'm i the only one that is thinking that Enugu should stop playing safe and should actually try to build a few white elphant projects to give the city a new outlook. I mean go the route of Akwa Ibom or Cross River and built something gargantual that will finally put Enugu where it is supposed to be. I also think there should be a concerted effort at attracting investors into the state to provie employment and increase the purchasing power of Enugu residents. Are you aware that there's no functional cinema in Enugu while the one in Owerri is still functional and you would think that Enugu people will have more purchasing power.

Who goes around beating a foreigner just because of minor disagreements. I even heard that the fight was as a result of the organizer trying to pim*p out some of the girls.

This is another building near the mall, maybe another mall?

Notice the crowd always around these building sites........
This is interesting. I wish Ebonyi could do something new and interesting with the mall though. I mean, they should take advantage of the outdoors and create a mini theme park and probably even build a hotel in the premises.

Samuel Etoo of Cameroun? cheesy
Yes Sir.

His father was originally from Amasiri but moved to Cameroon during the civil war and never returned. The story broke about a decade ago and it was even rumoured that Etoo visited Amasiri around that time.

No empty land the stadium is located in the middle of market, so it is mostly locked up stall because the market is decked. Dr Ikpeazu has plans to construct a brand new 54,000 capacity stadium in Ogborhill area of Aba
That will be nice. But Ogbor hill looks kinda built up too.

And what exactly is international about CAF? Nwanne, i know you're a pro Abia person. I am too and Ikpeazu has tried but the Aba stadium can still better than it is.

Please, everyone let's for once make some form of declaration among ourselves concerning the growth of Igboland. it seems to me that all we do is talk, talk and talk even more and nothing seems to be changing. We have been talking since the Eze Ndigbo nairaland days and nothing has chancged.

Can we start some kind of movement geared towards actually making a change.

PoliticsRe: Ayade To Turn Tinapa Into University by Afam4eva(m): 7:14pm On Aug 26, 2018
Tinapa has failed to be a viable business venture because the first thing in tourism is local purchase power, ”if Tinapa was located in Lagos it would have worked.”
Exactly what we've been saying for eons.

I am of no support of APC but for us to chase out these crop of underdevelopers, we need the political power and will to do so. You cannot arm-twist the government of any these states if u don't control the house of assembly. We need to take total control of how things are done and not manage what comes to us.

For our immediate survival instinct, let's not vote against who will eventually win. Let's give them votes so that we can be considered and a number of life-saving project be done in the east first. Are we not tired of the incessant accidents along the eastern expressways? We should bring those ones as our beginners package to first save lives and businesses. Even if it is to give them 5million votes, no problem.

Second step is to decamp enmasse to the preferred party that will usher in the new regime, APGA. It is our party and if we infiltrate the party without any form of pity, we will kick out every rival party in the region and Igbo land in general.

Third step, we are now going to lay down our own laws and interests that will push for our own agendas. It is either we push for Igbo presidency or we keep pushing for projects that will develop, open and secure our region better.

Fourth step, any member coming out of that party for any political position will sign an agreement that his constituency allowance and a percentage of all his benefits will be given to SEDC (we must have created then) for the development and expansion of the Igbo economic space.

The SEDC, APGA and in conjunction with socio-cultural organisation will come together and levy igbos on some major projects in the region that will further expand the economy.

I can't say too much but if we put our heads to this, we can make a difference.
And how do you know whi will eventually win an election? Did many people think Buhari would win in 2015? These political parties are temporal and let's assume we vot for Buhari in 2019, what's the guaranty that he would win and even if he does, what's the guaranty that APC would win in 2023? I don't believe in desperation. Afterall we supported PDP for 16 years and what exactly did we get in return? So, supporting the party in power does not change the fact that they will keep seeing you as IGBO. So, nothin for you.

As far as APGA is concerned. They have to go down in history as the laziest political party ever. They had all it took to win the wntir 5 eastern states because Igbos were supporting them even without them doing anything worthy of it. The fact that Ojukwu was at the center of the party was enough for us to rally among them. But they did not put in any sort of energy into doing the needful. They won Anambra state and they were comfortable with just Anambra. They have to do their home work.

I find it difficult to understand our ways of ridiculing those who are calling out our deficiencies. If we are not up to date about the Igbo plan, let someone start educating us. I find it funny that the so called Igbo warriors know how to shut anyone with dissimilar view with what the majority have in this thread.

Now, if anyone can educate me, an illiterate of primary 6, what is the Igbo plan come next four years?

Note: I have been reading this thread since page one and I have not seen any single plan and we keep insulting people here because we all have big heads.

The people we love to insult and parade that are holding us back are working tirelessly to maintain power and economic interests in their region and we keep saying those guys are stupid.

I know one thing for sure, APC will win next election and it's either we rally round APGA so that they can come to an agreement with these folks or we go apolitical and vote 60-40 in the next election to be in the safe side.

If we want to get our pound of flesh back from these guys, we must learn how to camouflage and get the political power to change things ourselves. We are just here calling out everyone when some people are already laying blocks for 2023.

The whole game of who is Igbo and who isn't won't matter when Okowa is thrown out 2019.

The whole game of which tribe is bad and which is good won't matter when the west and the north keep cornering most projects to their domains while we keep waiting for Biafra.

The whole game of APC being the worst party will not matter when they keep rotating power between them and we keep crying like babies and coming here to create phantom development for ourselves.

I am going to be an idiot, stupid, a fool and most probably a non-igbo because I am coming with an unpopular view. Someone will come with sweet English to cover our senses again because he knows more than reality.

The reality is real and none of you can do anything about it. 2019 is all about interests. It's either your interest is immediate or its futuristic. It is better you start playing now or else, we will be giving these men another 8years to get all the over 20trillion budgets that will be budgeted for the next 4years.
You're no different from everyone that has come before you. Your plan for Igboland should not be to cajole us to join your party. Bring to the table, a plan that is devoid of political intonation. How do we develop Igboland irrespective of the party we support?

Be careful who you let in on your plans as some may pretend to be Igbo just to monitor the site and kill it if necessary!

See the way O'mambala.com just died like that without a explanation or apology! Even when it was running it was like the owner of the site just didn't care as there were many bugs and problems which took forever to fix, with some lasting the entire life of the site! I'm suspecting the owner wasn't Igbo but volunteered to help us set up the site so he could monitor and direct Igbo opinion and steer it towards his preferred agenda. And when he found out we are republicans with a mind of our own that can't be teleguided, he gave up and let the site die!

So ask to meet up with anyone offering to help just so you can confirm they're Igbo. smiley
Why are our brains always wired to blame other people but ourselves.
