Teeboy22:No, I didn't. I got it after a week. |
Spygadgets19:Just over a week ago |
Spygadgets19:I used to be able to collect passport the same day at Nigerian Immigration in Ikoyi butbi don't know of its still possible. |
If begging was all he could do, Tinubu would have forgiven him considering the number of people thatt have begged on Ambode's behalf. Even Ambode himself has done enough begging to last a lifetime. His slavey disposition at Jim Ovia's book launch was nauseating at best. I think it's over for Ambode as far as Tinubu and APC are concerned. The only thing left for him is to the fight by using anothe rplatform but he doesn;t even come across to me as a fighter. Fashola stood a better chance if he found himself in this quagmire. |
Neyoor:Where were you when Buhari failed to show up for the presidential debate? |
raker300:That's an old picture. If you see the recent picture of that Control junction, you will get angry. The entire road around the roundabout is riddled with potholes on all sides. |
Cjrane2:That's why i changed it from Igbo Owned to Igbo controlled. We have a lot of print and New media outfits but they're more interested in their selfish gains than Igboland. |
AnamCity:What we need is a major Igbo |
sarrki:Exactly what i've been saying. |
These are the parts of Onitsha that a lot of people don't get to see. |
. |
nnamdijonathan:That's not entirely true. The North is always the last resort for most youth corpers. After that, people always want to be close to home, which means that people who live in Lagos want to be posted in lagos or the states close by (Ogun, Oyo etc). Thirdly, people go where they think they will have fun. I've seen people choose to go to Akwa Ibom and Calabar because they feel they will enjoy their stay. In the east, Enugu has the best reputation as most people going to the east will prefer to go to Enugu before aywhere else because Enugu has a more positive image than other states. The thing is that the east has a bad reputation such that people who haven't been there already have a preconceived notion about it. It's only when they go there that they realize that it's not as bad as being painted. That's why those corpers withdrew their relocation. But i think we should do more in bolstering our image. Unfortunately, our leaders are not good image launderers. |
Omofunaab2:Fashola was an incumbent and majority of Lagosians felt he had done very well. Now, compare that to 2007 when Fashola squared up against a criminallym inded Obanikoro. |
MaziOmenuko:What you have written here is factual but only based on APC party level and not the entire state. Why is it that despite the supposed power that Tinubu is said to wield in Lagos, PDP, the uch hated party al;ways manages to get atleast 40-45% of the total votes in Lagos. APC always manages to win by a small margin. It means that the Lagos electorate are bigger than any party structure. Ambode will definitely lose out on the APC ticket if Tinubu and the party decide it to be so but if he moves to another party, the powers of Tinubu or APC cannot bring him down. I'm hoping that the trajectory that the Ambode-Tinubu bruhaha is going is sustained, so that political students will see that every political dynasty finally comes to an end, especially one such as lagos that is seen as the private estate of a single individual. |
Too many series these days but very few outstanding ones. How did you guys manage to watch Handmaid Tales cos it was boring from season 1 to 2. I don't think i'm going to continue. |
I don't understand why some people are having high blood pressure because Bianca wants to become senator. This your grammar is not helping matters. |
Alphagan:I agree. |
Don't these mods communicate with each other? |
adejide2:I think i saw a MAXI gas cooker with 4 burners and 1 electric cooker for around that price. |
Is Amaechi gay? |
cococandy:I think i'm beginning to like this egusi with little or no water compared to the watery one. |
Shukuakukobambi:Exactly! |
Cjrane2:I wish i knew Enugu very well in order to propose a new area outside the city. But anywhere along Enugu-Awka and Enugu-Port-hacourt expressway will do just fine. |
Cjrane2:Our cities can only be said to be built up if you consider the limits of the current cities. But there is ample space to spread the cities in the exteriors. For example, a new area outside Enugu town can be developed as a new business district. |
spyder880:In most European or american cities, there's always a city center with a very large space, currounded by building on almost all sides where people can go and just chill. Madison Square Garden in New York is one of such places but it's not your typical city center. |
The IPOB sit-at-home worked in every Igbo town though the level of success varied from one town to the other. For instance, Onitsha and Aba always tends to comply with orders like this because that's the base of IPOB of any pro Biafran group. Obigbo in Rivers state, though a small town, also tends to comply with this orders as some of the most vociferous IPOB members are based there. You also have some level of compliance in places like Enugu, owerri and Asaba but it is never as successful as the other cities i mentioned. |
Ever since Tinubu handed over, Lagos has produced two governors and Tinubu has hand a hand in the emergence of both of them. Their successes have also been attributed to the blueprint that Tinubu laid down during his tenure as Governor of the state. I must say that if really laid those blueprints, that he did a very good job and Fashola and Ambode have done well in maintaining those blueprints. It is important to note that it's not only Lagos that has a fantastic bluepint. I'm sure most states have theirs too. The only difference is the wllingness and the financial muscle to carry our those blueprints which is what has made Lagos succeed in this regard. No state in the federation can match the financial muscle of Lagos but that does not in anyway discount the effort put in by all the governors of Lagos since 1999. Recently, there has been a talk about Tinubu dumping Ambode because based on the feelers we're getting, Ambode has destroyed some of the structures that Tinubu lelft for every governor to follow. While these structures are germaine, every governor has the right to follow his own path. Ambode can as well destroy all the structures and creates his if he feels they are better. It's now left for Lagosians to decide whether or not he has done well or not. For instance, i feel that since Ambode became governor, there has been an upsurge of filth throughout the state. I can for a fact say that he has failed in the area of waste management. But he has also succeeded in other areas such as in capital projects such as roads and bridges. Even iif Ambode fails in every area, i doon't think it's for Tinubu to decide whether he continues or not. The party has a structure and they can vote Ambode out in the primaries if they so choose. Nobody should be more powerful than the party. you don't just choose to do away with someone because you don't like them or their style of gooernance. In any case, if APC decides not to field Ambode, it's their prerogative but they should be ready to bear the consequences that may follow. Despite the godlike status accorded to Tinubu, it's imperative to note that he maynot be as powerful as been touted. The only reason he has wielded so much power is because, the people he has fielded to become the governors of Lagos have done considerably well, so Lagosians are voting based on this premise not because Tinubu holds Lagos by it's crotch. If Tinubu continues and succeeds with his threat and Ambode decides to pitch his tent with another party, we can't rule out the fact that he can beat APC's candidate whoever that is. He's the imnumbent and he has done considerably well in the eyes of most Lagosians. Let's wait and see who wins the fight for the soul of Lagos state. |
Please, is anybody aware if any Igbo city has a city center. I think we need to start introducing the concept to our cities. |
Banmeallday:Chances are , you're IGBO. |
Enugu just has a different feel. |
Purehuman:Here is exactly my problem with every Igbo discourse. This conjuction always finds its way into Igbo matters and i wonder why. The earlier we started fending for ourselves the better for us. Our heads have been up our azz for too long and it's time to take it out. |
pazienza:Gbam. You have said it all. What we need is to educate our people not to hate but to be aware of people who hate them. Anytime i come across a SS person, they always have something negative to say about Igbos. I think we need to reorientate ourselves. We are better of even aligning with the north and get a piece of the pie than align with people who you think are brothers, only to sell you out when the opportunity presents itself. |
