hazard and his agent by their numerous interviews and tweets have possibly raised d transfer price but he has also placed himself under tremendous pressure to deliver at his new club(watever club he goes to).

its better to siddon look but still pray for the best.but all this angst as debosky put it is not worth it.

lol bluediva confess,u r so excited abt d hazard signing u dont want to jinx it! dts y u r trying to sound sooo laidback abt it wink

debosky: Starboard is a prime example of the 24 hours news media, the non-stop transfer talk and the 'I want it NOW' mentality of many footie fans these days.

Signing an 18 year old producing all this angst? cheesy

Some players will be bought and they will flop - that is as guaranteed as tomorrow's sunrise. Banging one's head against the wall is no more effective at preventing the former as it is at preventing the latter. cheesy
LOL.some people are well known for their knee jerk emotional response to events.they should just calm down.ok United r spending 4million on an unproven player.it has been done before, some have worked out and some have failed.the transfer season is just starting and buying this boy does not mean dt later in dis transfer window we won't buy other more established players for our area of need i.e midfield.its 4m not 40m,no need for hysterics

he plays for juve, though he has been around for awhile and he is 31yrs old already.i believe the future of italian defending is in Bonucci and Ranochia

a tournament with 4 or 5 very good sides.italy, france, portugal, netherlands and (to a lesser extent) spain.
P.S @ bluediva i dont tink materazzi was in dt squad
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 10:46pm On May 27, 2012
i remember then in Uni we started calling those italian defenders SPIRITS! dt team was so good defensively cos dt was probably the only time that d italians had Cannavaro,Nesta and Maldini all fit n on form together.plus albertini n di biagio cleaning up in front of them
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 10:26pm On May 27, 2012
nateevs: With the way Italy were played off the park in the Semi's they could have gone 4 down easily.
That game, till date, is one of the most one sided football games I have ever seen.
Kluivert, Cocu, Bergkamp running riots on the Azzuris like no tomorrow.
one of the best defensive performances of the era! the dutch threw EVERYTHING at d Italians.dont forget d missed penalties in regulation time and extra time.de boer, kluivert e.t.c byd way dt was d last dutch side to play in d classical ajax/netherlands fashion
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 9:56pm On May 27, 2012
club support and country support r mutually exclusive to me.i have been a United fan for almost 20yrs so dts nt going to change soon.however national teams r a different matter.i support united from d heart but i support a national team from d head based on d quality n style of football dey play.though if there is a personal hero of mine(i mean a real icon) like van basten in d late 80s or zidane in d 2000s i might let my heart decide which country to support.right now no such hero exists(at least for me)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 9:37pm On May 27, 2012
nateevs: True talk. The technical play and overall fluidity of he Dutch has diminished over the years. This rumblings of good football vs winning football I believe, has given birth to the era of new Dutch managers like Van Basten who believe less in fluidity than solidity.

The injection of players like Nigel De Jong is testament to the drift in Dutch football. I was embarrassed at the way the Netherlands played Spain in the final of the WC.

it was very very disappointing, but not surprising.d earlier Brazil-Netherlands match which on paper should hv bin a blockbuster was a pointer to d changing times.
they need to decide on RVP or Huntelaar to start to be supported behind by EITHER VDV or Sneijder.then real width in robben n anoder wide man.then Van Bommel and a dynamic, technically adept passer as partner in midfield
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:31pm On May 27, 2012
also when he goes forward to attack he rarely gets back in time to help d defence,he has no recovery rate.also his positioning has gone down as he has gotten older which is very strange cos experience is supposed to improve things like positioning n decision making.there r times United has been under pressure for 2-3 minutes straight and yet when d ball gets to evra's area he is nowhere to b found, sometimes he is up d field or lost somewhere close to d centre circle.
we do need a LB,i am hoping fryers is d guy to step in so dt we can spend money on d midfield
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 9:22pm On May 27, 2012
i feel you.but this current dutch side is one of d least fluid in terms of buildup play i have ever seen esp when they play competitive matches.trying to shoehorn RVP and Huntelaar as well as VdV n Sneijder into d team all at d same time is not helping continuity of play, fluidity of passing e.t.c
i like this present germans for now cos their passing, pace of game n fluidity of movement is obvious.d spaniards r fluid too but a little to slow in their buildup for my liking
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m):
LOOOL see fear.evra started finishing after d world cup,esp d 2nd half of d 2010/2011 season.no b today i don dey shout am but some felt d blame lay elsewhere.
right from dt time he stopped running wit wingers to get a final block in.his favourite move then n more so now is to stand facing d winger square and at d earliest opportunity lazily stretch his left leg out to stop d winger.once he misses d tackle which he usually does the space behind him is soooooo OPEN! d guy put vidic in trouble several times with that move
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 8:54pm On May 27, 2012
supported the netherlands in d 80s and early 90s cos of d dutch trio, and thats were i developed my dislike for d germans(remember rijkaard n voeller)
supported england n netherlands in 96.
supported france from 98 until zidane retired cheesy
now i'm nt sure.sitting on d fence but tilting towards d germans shocked
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 8:05pm On May 27, 2012
nani had a series of niggling injuries all year long and this zapped his his fitness n his confidence.i still believe he will be back to his best come next season,he is still in his mid 20s after all.as per capello BEGGING for a 1yr contract,i find dt hard to believe.he is capello he doesnt need to beg for a 1yr contract
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 7:41pm On May 27, 2012
thats why chelsea need him more than united.in summary of his talents he could be a winger(we have valencia, nani n young) or sorta support striker(we have rooney, young, nani).so we hav options dt may or may nt b as gud as he is(up for debate).on the other hand chelsea doesnt hav real wingers dt give width and only mata is suited to supporting d striker in d hole
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc(m): 7:17pm On May 27, 2012
hazard seems to b a a good player but he is not d kind of player united desperately need now(our problems r in central midfield).on d other hand chelsea's weaknesses are on d flanks and d fact dt there is really no good alternative to mata in d hole.so he would b a good fit for chelsea since he could solve both problems.

chamotex: Why wont I want Kagawa? We need an attacking midfielder and a defensive one.
Kagawa will be a good buy rather than spending 30 odd million on Hazard. Should we keep relying on Scholes and Giggs? Haven't you said on here they should retire?

Or we should keep faith with Fletcher who may never even play again.
We are short of bodies in midfield especially when injury strikes. That is why Rafael and Park both played CM against Blackburn.

And about the DM situation, I've said it numerous times here that we are the only team in the top four (probably even in elite Europe) without a natural DM. We need a player that will just sit there and make us solid.

And also before people start speculating about who to buy , we need to be sure what system/formation Fergie would employ for next season first.
It seems Fergie will stick to his traditional 4-4-2. The man is stubborn.
well said.we cant rely on the geriatric scholes all d tym ,esp as he is getting even older PLUS practically all d other options we have in d squad have injury or health issues.we need a defensive midfielder nd an attacking midfielder of first rate quality

well said.not adding to our attacking midfield when so much burden was placed on d geriatric scholes would be very foolish IMO.we also need a quick, powerful DM who runs, tackles n is ready for physical battles(bt should b a decent passer as well).there r too many always injured, usually injured and aged men in our midfield for us to add just ONE player.and yes fergie better switch to 4-2-3-1
It seems Fergie will stick to his traditional 4-4-2. The man is stubborn.

Foreign AffairsRe: Why Is England More Developed And Stable Than America? by afrodoc(m): 4:45am On May 27, 2012
lol dis has morphed from us vs uk to naija vs the world,or so it seems.
back to topic.d uk has a relatively small size wit little room for xpansion, limited natural resources,a popuation with a disprportionate percentage on govt social benefits and an overvalued currency which has crippled local manufacturing.no way is d uk more developed or stable than d us
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 5:59pm On May 26, 2012
people were shouting abt how poor d midfield was during the season and now dt d season is over they r now claiming we need just 1 midfielder? seriously?
do u tink City will sit still at d spot they ended dis season? and i see wt they want is just one DM,i thot carrick was d best thing since vulcanized rubber? we need 2 central midfielders, one more defensive and one for creativity.y do u think united's fortunes improved when scholesy came back? do u tink scholes improved our ATTACK or our DEFENCE? without scholes' creativity the team is nt as good going forward so we DEFINITELY need another creative force in midfield(preferably one dt can tackle better n run for longer periods than scholes).we also need a powerful n pacy midfielder to b a gud alternative to carrick and who can at least SLOW DOWN if nt exactly stop yaya toure when we meet.since we r losing 2 strikers we need one more striking option unless SAF is finally going to dump d 4-4-2 and go for d more effective 4-2-3-1.
if the perennially injured anderson and d injury prone cleverly stay fit and deliver thruot next season ,let it b just a BONUS! we cannot plan next season on d premise that both anderson n cleverly will stay fit all season.if by some bad luck they cop injuries again we will b left wit scholes, giggs n carrick again! God forbid.SAF has said people will b going on loan nxt season so dt should clear room for 2 players in central midfield plus a versatile forward in kagawa and either a striker or a leftback(whichever is d area of greatest need according to SAF).
berba, owen, possibly park, fabio, fletcher will not b with us at d start of next season.that is minus 5 already without counting d possible yearly injuries to ando n tomC.We need at least 4 players and 2 should b in midfield

with berbatov and owen both leaving and park either leaving or remaining as a non-factor we r already minus 3 in d attack department.2 or 3 injuries next season and we r grasping at straws again! we need someone like kagawa cos he is a good option to have even off d bench and he is VERSATILE and can solve problems in up to 3 positions if there r injuries PLUS he is relatively cheap.in central midfield we need TWO players a young strong DM with pace n decent technique like M'vila or Tiote( though tiote is older n wit less tecnical ability n less discipline).d LB spot i have been talking abt for up to 2 seasons now bt some pple here were blaming all on lack of cover in front of Evra.Man City will buy players and improve, lets nt imagine dt adding just 1 player will close d gap.it might close d gap on this season's City side but not on nxt season's City side
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 8:54pm On May 25, 2012
we need 2 central midfielders at least. one defensive midfielder who is strong, quick but also decent at passing the ball e.g m'vila, tiote and then one creative midfielder with good technique, passing and vision e.g modric.
kagawa wouldn't b a bad buy cos he is a quality player who gives us options cos he can play in 2-3 positions on d pitch.no need to spend so much money on hazard unless one of nani, valencia or young is leaving(park is a non-factor)
2 central midfielders plus kagawa plus a striker since 2 r leaving in berba n owen.d LB position has bin shaky for 2 seasons now,so dt might b another place to strengthen depending on how much fryers has developed

he said "for all his talent",which means he thinks he is talented.d issue is nt anderson's talent which some matches hav shown he has in abundance.d issue is his consistency (or lack of it) which can be linked to his fitness problems.he is slowly turning into an owen hargreaves who has lots of talent but doesnt stay fit enough to show it.at a club like united a player like anderson should b able to contribute to d team for a MAJORITY of d season YEAR IN YEAR OUT.i think its tym we cut our losses and get some new quality replacements with a better fitness record.if he stays next season its still ok,but we shouldnt xpect him to b a major contributor.there have to b other young, quality options so dt if ando performs it will b a bonus
