the guy seems to be technically sound and good going forward cos it seems he plays both leftback and left midfield.however all the videos i have seen show him in the attacking half of the field,no evidence of his defending ability yet |
wingback from vitesse apparently.i tink he is a left wingback.au revoir to baines maybe? |
alexander buttner to United? |
Song signs for Barca |
please get him out of ur mind o! |
chamotex: Seems like niggaz are on their periods - e never reach fight nathanks for d explanation bros.i tire for guys o,taking nitpicking to olympic levels ![]() |
much ado abt nothing. we will get our trophy back,we will get your trophy back,we will get a trophy back or we will get an trophy back! how does it affect you chelsea or arsenal fans? if you don't like it then don't click on d thread and keep walking.abi? |
chicharito needs to step up his game cos fergie will be less patient with him than he has bin wit welbeck.one reason is cos welbeck is a lil younger and 2nd reason is cos welbeck is united bred n english.hernandez is probably 4th choice striker now IMO |
also arsenal don't have alex ferguson,lol |
chelseabmw: Hope you are not among last season's trophy less manutd team......... Drogba is a legend,a demi god at chelseaUnited lost to Ajax Cape Town? i guess you watched the match while carrying your TV on ur head its either that or you were peeping through a wall crack to watch it at a viewing centre ![]() |
If u hv bin following this thread u would hv realised dt most united fans were not enamoured wit d idea of moura from d onset.most of us would prefer a central midfielder e.g a modric or moutinho or sahin or martinez |
i am actually happy dt PSG got lucas moura.we didn't need to spend all that money for an unproven winger out of brazil, especially since we have 3 decent to good wide men and even more especially since our limited funds should be spent on bolstering our weakpoints(central midfield and left back). |
Ravel Morrison sent on loan to Birmingham City after failing to make West Ham's squad for the season it would be very sad if this troubled boy pisses away his talent. |
i can't disagree with DK on this one.only a modification, robben is way way better than ashley young |
montelik: Ashley Young really needs to learn some new tricks. lolyou can't teach an old dog new tricks ![]() |
if d moura signing does take place, one should just hope he turns out to be a kaka rather than a robinho or pato or diego.a lot of d expensive signings from brazil have not exactly set d world on fire |

several sources are saying the same thing.30million pounds for yet another winger, especially one thats unproven in europe is a bit too much. |
according to manutd.com irwin is a united legend and according to fcbarcelona.com txiki is a legend! those are d official mouthpieces of the clubs so i think that settles it.and how can u say butragueno isn't a madrid legend? ur standards are too high and seem to be incongruous with the feelings of the fans of d clubs in question. of course achievement is very high on the list but u hav to consider ability, character, personality, loyalty, connection wit d fans.not saying d player has to hav all of those but sum total should be somtin dt d club nd d fans connect with(cos at d end its d club n fans dat decide who is a legend and who is not) |
and ur comparisons are unfair cos legends are legends in their own right, its nt d ballon d'or. txiki beguiristain being a legend doesnt stop iniesta or xavi from being legends, dts nt how it works.some good players dont even become legends while some average players become legends.its not just about skill or on d field ability, but longevity, team success, rapport with the fans.these r d factors |
thats not the issue, nobody is comparing eras here.the issue is he is a UNITED LEGEND.nobody is calling him the best in europe, but in d history of united he is a legend.Dixie Dean,'Chopper' Harris,Lofthouse r legends in their clubs for different reasons.d era in which they played is never rily d issue, wts important is dt when they were there they contributed significantly to that club. |
thank God u mention PEAKING.Irwin joined d club half a dozen years before the guys u mentioned and peaked long before them.when irwin was winding down his career keano n neville were at their peak. irwin's mates are those guys i mentioned cos they are abt d same age AND they came at about d same time when fergie was clearing d club of d "old guard" dt he met at d club e.g paul mcgrath, norman whiteside e.t.c anyway the argument is irwin is in d top 10 in terms of games played for united ever,at a time when United were dominant in England and he won lots of trophies so in my book he is a definite legend.i am sure all true United fans will agree,at least the club's official website agrees with me |
ferguson not travelling to Norway with the squad, said to be away on other club business.i pray it means a signing is imminent |
irwin, paul ince,,brian mcclair, pallister, kanchelskis(to a lesser extent) can be said to be the same set not stam who joined d club abt 10yrs after them or neville who was still in d youth/reserve team 4-5 years after they joined |
dayokanu: Irwin better than Evra or G. Neville? Did you watch Irwin at all? he was a joke to most European wingers.calling stam, keane, may and neville same set as irwin and pallister is so so inaccurate! keane and may were almost 6 years younger than irwin! is dt same set? is badstuber same set as schweinsteiger? neville was 10years younger than irwin! same set? in which secondary school? jaap stam was SEVEN years younger!by d time u saw irwin in d late 90s he was entering his mid thirties and of course wasnt d same player he once was. P.S gary pallister is another legend! not the big belly pallister of his last couple of seasons but d tall, slender player of d early to mid 90s |
at least Irwin is a legend,no doubt |
RuuDie: Easy or not. . .you do whatever it takes to be champs!pls be honest to you which was d more egregious crime a)not scoring EIGHT goals in those 2 matches OR b)conceding those 2 late goals against everton |
though each match is valued at 3 points the most crucial match was the everton collapse.scoring 8 or so goals in 2 EPL matches is not an easy task but keeping a 2 goal lead with a few minutes to go is the minimum expected of a championship contender! that was were the title was finally lost cos after that we were playing catch up. Ruudie dont get me,a good striker would be a good addition but i was just talking of prioritization.our problem last season wasnt scoring goals it was CONTROLLING games and KEEPING possession against teams that came at us and at crucial times. we have 4 strikers that are usually fit and that are all capable of copping double figure goal tally,3 of them in their 20s.our midfielders are a)worldclass and over the hill e.g giggs n scholes b)at peak age but always sick or injured e.g fletcher, anderson n cleverly c)untested youngsters e.g powell, petrucci and lingard. |
lucas from all indications is a purely attacking player i.e winger/supporting striker.i have not seen any indication that he can play central midfield.he is always playing up tempo and his greatest attributes are his pace, dribbling and shooting NOT passing, vision, tackling or d other assets a CM needs most.we have enough wingers and in d hole players in valencia, nani, young, kagawa, rooney e.t.c and most of them are young but around their peak.on d other hand our CM is made up of invalids, pensioners and unproven youngsters.i cant name one player in CM that doesnt fall into one of those 3 categories in CM.we need a central midfielder ASAP! on d other hand if lucas turns out to be the next coming of Ronaldo it never hurts to have those once in a blue moon talents.u create space for him and offload dead weight.he seems to b a supreme talent that can play in d 3 positions behind d striker.however d priority should be a CM unless SAF is willing to bet on d fitness of cleverly and his "wife" anderson all season long. |
yes.read that its in d works cos he now qualifies for one,yet to get one though |
what i tink needs to b done, just my humble opinion o 1) switch to 4-2-3-1 2) a brand new central midfield. a)Modric/Moutinho/Schweinsteiger to be the passer .or out of left field we could get Nuri Sahin on d cheap. b)Tiote/Mvila/De Rossi to b d tackler 3) a left back to compete with Evra in d short term and replace midterm.keep blackett to play reserve games and fabio on loan(both r long term hopes). 4) kagawa/cleverly in d middle position of the 3 supporting d lone striker i.e playing off d striker 5) rooney/welbeck/chicharito (in dt order) for d lone striker role.switch to 2 strikers when chasing the game or against defensive inferior opposition. 6) offload owen(his time is gone),berba(too good and too well paid to b on d bench). 7) scholes n giggs to have minimal playing time.blood the youngsters like petrucci, lingaard and tunnicliffe manage rio's games esp when vidic comes back.more games to smalling and evans and please play jones in ONE position.P.S dont know why d club seems to be going after van persie and lucas moura, both good players IMO but not exactly wt we NEED now. sorry forgot.give Anderson ONE LAST CHANCE BUT if he goes now,he goes |
nateevs: Are you sure about that?LOL.obviously not up to 90% but a large number do have Portuguese or another European country's citizenship (commonly Italian i tink).btw diego costa didnt hv an EU passport last season, one of d reasons why he was loaned out(another reason was possibly King Falcao) |
