Health › Re: Coronavirus Is Cause Of Mysterious Deaths In Kano - Dr Nasiru Sani Gwarzo by afroxyz: 11:15pm On May 03, 2020
ArewaFanatic:
How did we get here? Really, how did we get here? In spite of the no love lost feeling that many Nigerian tribes bear for one another, I have always known them to exercise decorum whenever death is the topic. Seeing the deterioration in manners and frankly common sense makes me weep. Our generation is f***ed, well beyond repair. I just hope those who will come after us will not be like us. We have not learnt from history and that would be our greatest undoing.

"Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it".

"Hatred - the one thing that has caused lots of problems but has never solved one" -Maya Angelou
It's quite sad. This generation of Nigerians have lost their humanity . Following politicians that benefitted from one Nigeria.

Dude, get your facts straight.
I think China did great. This is a NEW virus. Humanity has never been faced with this virus before. China faced a new virus that no one knew anything about. They were able to gather information about the virus and of course there were going to be a few misinformations. Remember it's a new virus and we're even still learning about it. Just a few days ago, it was discovered that the virus makes the toes change color. The US didn't handle the response well. Right now, they're still not handling it well, with their protests
Don't mind the US. When the Asians were asked how come they handled the virus very well in comparison to western countries do you know what she said.

The interviewee said it's because of their (West) disjointed sense of freedom. They are individualistic and do not think of the implications of their action on the community as a whole. Look at the states of Michigan. The governor wants to extend lockdown and protesters are bring guns to the state's assembly.
The US has itself to blame.

Nothing to mock here. They have succeeded in causing problems to the world simple!
Stop watching CNN. Even WHO a western organization that should ordinarily support the West has said the virus is of natural causes. Why China was battling with the pandemic western media was spreading propaganda about human right and liberty.

2 weeks was enough to get our acts together, instead we chose to copy the West who can always manipulate all the world economic organizations in their favor. Do we really understand that we are Africans or we think we are Europeans & Americans. No right thinking African country should have joined the lockdown, same way Europe and America weren't lockdown during Ebola, shutting down the economy is too expensive for any African country to deal with. This is only the beginning. We just don't have leaders and followers with sense
But people were pressuring the govt to lockdown. Now that the govt is easing restrictions the same people are insulting the govt. You can't blame the govt for.locking down, I only blame them for.not planning properly which is something that is not even achievable in 3 years if they did so

optics means how things look. everyone will be up in arms if the dollar shoots up to 600.

They will defend the naira making the naira to go up in value. that is exchange rate may go back to 380 but they cannot do this for long. the IMF is not a bottomless pit of money they can keep borrowing from. Venezuela's loan was recently rejected
Venezuela's issue has ties to the political imbroglio in that country. For years the West has been mounting pressure on Nicholas Maduro to step down for their puppet and Obama wannabe, Guaido, so that they can have access to the country's resources. Anybody following happenings in that country won't be surprised by IMF's decision. It is just a way of tightening the noose on a country already suffering from multiple embargoes from the US. IMF's credit level has nothing to do with it

if he can do other business himself, he won't be here asking, but you can do property business with layman's knowledge of it to an extent n be relaxed that except natural disasters or carelessness from occupants are the only things that can ruin it.
like I said earlier, property business will give you income for lifetime provided right decisions are made n u not greedy in your dealings.
You have not answered the question. Is he investing to have proceeds or investing to make profit? These are two different things. Don't tell me that you don't know landlords that are poor. This is excluding the fact that he would need to maintain the house and battle with stubborn tenants who refuse to pay. He should diversify his investment now. How can you advise him to use the chunk of his money to build house that would not even bring in N3m annually?

festacman:
My problem with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is that he talks about too many irrelevant things without saying anything of value to the cause of Ndi Igbo. He talks like like a thug.

He needs to talk intellectually about critical developmental issues. He needs to focus more on the key policy ideas, initiatives, programs and strategy that IPOB intends to implement differently to make South East economically prosperous and politically stable as opposed from what current set of governors are doing. That's what is relevant now if he is serious about getting widespread support.

He should quit engaging in unnecessary attacks on personalities including those who have nothing against his IPOB goals.
Don't mind the idiot. He is yet to tell us his economic roadmap considering the fact that Biafra may be land locked. He is yet to tell us which political system he would adopt having observed the failures of Nigeria's political structure. He is yet to make a formal.proposal at UN or even the national assembly. All he does is whip up sentiments and people cannot ask him serious questions and he expects me to support him. He is just a con man

I strongly disagree with you, I doubt you know anything about property for you to say a residential building will depreciate. u should have said building to rent or lease is better as it brings income on a steady bases to him residing there. u know nothing about property and u are a bad adviser.
someone mentioned building self contained apartments and it sounds n it is avery much better opinion if the location he buys the land is an area with high demand for such housing type.
holding cash in the bank in Nigeria is not good enough so far you don't have any plans for it yet and the best investment in Nigeria as at now is property business. which i can vouch for you if properly done, you will come to say thanks n even do more.
but what do I know.
How long would it take for him to recoup his investment. That is the point.
Family › Re: Do I Build A Small House Now Or Keep Saving? by afroxyz: 10:18pm On May 01, 2020
Building a house is an emotional investment. It's just for bragging rights. Well, unless you want to sell it thereafter. If you are hoping to use rent to recoup your investment, e go tey. Buy lands and flip them. If you want to move it mast you can buy, fence then just start a small structure then you sell. Building a house never made anyone rich, it is biz that would.make you rich. When you have enough money just build.one that you and your family would stay.

N.B I hope you were helping you friend with rent. You can't have that amount and not want to pay rent or have. Place of your own. It's like you are taking advantage of him.

Sometimes when I read some topics here I wonder if there are any real men left. Or is Seun paying people to write this content?

After openly disrespecting your wife by not only having a side chick on your street and allowing your wife know about it. You also put the trash LovePeddler above your wife. Sponsored this LovePeddler, opened a store for the mum. Even when she got pregnant you wanted to abort it so that you can keep her.

Now you want to win your wife's heart back not because you are remorseful but because the LovePeddler does not want you back.

Mr man, you are not repentant you are like a drowning man trying to clutch at straws because you don't want to lose at both ends.

If I was your wife you would never have my heart back in this life and beyond. You are an utter disgrace to men. Not because you had a side chic but because you chose to put her at a higher pedestal than your wife.

You are just a pussy.

There are two solutions to this. Either you make your wife to stop going out to gossip or you also leave the house and go to your friend's place or beer parlour at least.

BTW it looks like a planned job. But if it isn't, once you sleep with her you have downgraded whatever respect her junior sister has for your wife.

I thought you all were preaching how fixed investments were the best and how nothing better had happened to humanity after it? grin grin grin
There are some flexibilities the real economy will give you that this fixed whatever can't.
Imagine how safe people that hoard commodity will be this period?
If the naira depreciates even further, very very good. cool cool
If it doesn't and stay where it was, then it is business as usual.
Even if it appreciates,a person still has close to a month or thereabout to offload stock before cheaper commodity caused by currency appreciation starts flooding the markets.
Imagine how frustrated people having T-bills and all other fixed investments will be now knowing they could have adjusted to the incoming inflation if they had their liquid at their disposal but no,its tied to fixed investments that will liquidate in a years time, after inflation must have hit 300% grin grin grin grin
Later some self acclaimed economist will come and claim how person A invested in so so so bond and is now rolling in millions and have bought half of banana Island grin.
I wonder when humans will learn that there aren't shortcuts to riches but with hardworking, proper planning and persistence.
So what does the 'erudite' tomato seller suggest?
