Our ERA armour will kill all SANDF RHA armour....they won't even find your tank crews' dead body to bury after we blast your 105 mm gun tin can Olifant tanks with our 125 mm T-72 guns grin grin

Situation seemed sorted. Unit already existed. Tactics already existed. Hmmm

In the words of former EO's man Eeben Barlow...."we built it from scratch"

Eeben Barlow Speaks Out (Pt. 2): Development of a Nigerian Strike Force

The chairman of STTEP, Eeben Barlow, reports, “Our relationship with the Nigerian government and the Nigerian Armed Forces is very good, and as fellow Africans, they recognize the value we have added thus far at the strategic, operational and tactical levels.

An advanced party of South African military veterans working for STTEP landed in Nigeria by early January of 2015. Instead of social-media activism, they held a selection program for the elite Nigerian military unit they were to train while the main body of STTEP began to arrive. “It is a mobile strike force with its own organic air support, intelligence, communications, logistics, and other relevant combat support elements,” said Barlow. He declined to name the unit they were training, but an open source investigation strongly suggests this unit is the 72 Strike Force.

By the time the main body of STTEP contractors arrived, the selection process for the Nigerian strike force was complete and training was able to commence immediately. “We built it from scratch,” Barlow explained, “and were able to, in a very short space of time, get it combat ready. The results this force achieved, along with the support of the Nigerian Army are indeed remarkable.

The South Africans trained their Nigerian counterparts in the tactics, techniques, and procedures that they had practiced and refined on the battlefield since South Africa’s conflicts in the 1980s, including Barlow’s concept of relentless pursuit (which will be explored in a future article).

Meanwhile, Boko Haram was experiencing an increase in operational tempo and achieving successes in their area of operations.

With this in mind, STTEP’s mission quickly transitioned from training a rescue unit to training a rapidly deploying mobile strike force, and mentoring those they trained in the field. “By late February, the strike force conducted its first highly successful operational deployment,” Barlow said.

Thank you for giving us the long awaited proof that NO SOUTH AFRICAN MERCENARY fought any battle for Nigeria....all they did was PMC of about 5 men trained 120 Nigerian troops on COIN mobility....added to the Nigerian NDA training we already gave those troops in Kaduna, the backbone military training of those 72 strike force is purely a Nigerian military academy foundation.

Thanks for proving to the world that NO SINGLE bullet was fired in war by a South African mercenary in Nigeria during Boko Haram war.

BTWN....a PMC is a private military company when all they do is training, if they fight on battlefield they will become mercenary, unfortunately, all they did in Nigeria was extra training a handful of Nigerian army trained men.

You cannot build a special ops force from scratch with fresh recruit troops, those men were already Nigerian army soldiers for years before now....trained by Nigeria.

Adding 5 cubes of sugar to my tea that already had 10 cubes before, does no mean you made my tea sweet for me.

So much noise for about 120 men of 72 Strike force....Nigerian army has about 150,000 troops....that PMC trained force is very very tiny

Thanks for proving us right....I like y.our suicide comment grin grin

We actually only have a handful of Olifant MK1s left, they are mostly used for training and display purposes, most of them are with the Army Museum, the rest are MK1Bs and MK2s.
90 % of SANDF Olifant tanks today are the old cargo plain metal ancient RHA armour, only about 10 % of your Olifants got modern armour upgrade. Today, Nigeria will defeat South Africa in a tank vs tank battle.

One Boko Haram RPG with HEAT warhead will tear 200 units of SANDF Olifant tanks into pieces grin grin

SANDF armour is now obsolete.....world war II relics.....Nigerian T-72 tanks with ERA armour will ruin and wreck SANDF ancient tanks

Those are NA elite forces, unless a dullard like you think those are regular troops. The 72 strike force uses AK-47, Nigerian SF standard is Travor, and their training is overseas after NDA....PMC do not train Nigerian elite troops. 120 men in the 72 strike force are just a new unit for mobile duty, that does not make them the real elite.....our real Elite are the SF.....they killed Shekau I inside his camp....72 Strike force was not even born then, those guys have only 3 months experience after PMC training.....NA commando elites have been fighting war for over 10 years consistently.....that's the real elite.

You know nothing about what makes an elite force, you think PMC training is the qualification....Olodo grin grin

When did Nigeria train Zimbabwe?

Shoke was trained in Russia and completed a Brigade Commanders Course making him a senior officer.

This is the fact of the matter.
"Chief of the SANDF, General S. Shoke

General Solly Zacharia Shoke was born in Alexandra Township, in Johannesburg on 15 August 1956. General Shoke left the country in1976 after the uprisings and joined the military wing of the African National Congress - Umkhonto we Sizwe. He received his basic military training in Angola and further training in the then Soviet Union.

After he received his basic military training in Angola and serving in various capacities in the African National Congress’ military wing, uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) both inside and outside the country he rose through ranks to become the commander of the then Transvaal Machinery.

He was later selected to become part of the underground Collective Leadership (Operation Vula). He operated internally until the unbanning of the liberation movements. After the unbanning of the African National Congress he became part of the National Organising Department of the ANC whose mission was to organise the ANC Structures in the country. General Shoke was also part of the committees that facilitated the peaceful transition to democracy in South African including the armed forces.

In preparation for the integration of the armed forces he went to Zimbabwe to do an Intermediate Staff Course. After the ushering in of the new democratic era Lt Gen Shoke did his Senior Command and Staff Duties Course in South Africa. He later did the Joint Staff Course; the highest military qualification in South Africa. He also holds a Diploma in Human Resources Management and a certificate in defence management."

http://www.dod.mil.za/csandf/chief.htm

South African army chief of staff entered SANDF service with final training in Zimbabwe, first training was in Angola.

"The Nigerian Army Command and Staff College Jaji also attracted officers from other African states. Students from Benin, Ethiopia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe regularly attended, and the first Botswanan officers attended the 1986-87 course."

Nigerian army trained Zimbabwe to train South Africa's most senior army chief, Nigeria trains SANDF, we own you o ! grin grin

SANDF is full of thousands of bush war veterans passing on skills and knowledge. One Bush War veteran created a unit in the Nigerian Army that is maybe comparable to the average SANDF unit.

SANDF cheif was trained in Russia where he completed a Brigade Commanders Course, he was also re-trained upon intergration into the SANDF.
99% of Bush war veterans are dead or forced to retire like Col. Eben....ANC hates them.

Posting photos of old white men confirms SANDF has the weakest aged infantry of half dead men in the world.

Those old men are NOT confirmed to be Bush war veterans, show me proof that that old man with rifle fought in Angola, most of SADF was doing home guard......60,0000 Angolan mercenaries were on battle front saving South African army from being overwhelmed by Cuban boys and girls in anger grin grin

SANDF General Shoke was trained by Zimbabwe that was trained by Nigeria....his real field combat skills are Nigerian imparted.

SANDF army chief of staff has Nigerian training inside him.

SAAF air force chief was trained by Nigeria in Zaria flying school.

We own your military, all your leaders' brains are in our pocket

Today's SANDF is trained by a rag tag army chief of staff who was trained by Zimbabwe that was trained by Nigeria.

The propellers it uses are still classified... when one was in dry dock it had its props replaced with factory spec props.
So it means if order has not been made to purchase, no announcement by SANDF or RSA.
