The UN using Ukraine's Mi-24P bombarded their supplies, since then the UN used the Oryx for reccon missions towards the boarder. That's where weapons supplies ended. After that August operation Rwanda only recruited civilians for the M23.
...but you just lied to us a few hours ago that it was south african Rooivalk helicopter gunship that finally defeated M23 rebels in few minutes like a magic african-juju medicine. liar grin

M23 looted a lot of weapons when they pulled out of the city of Goma. Some ammunition stocks were carried back to Goma this week from captured positions. But after the Rooivalks proved their philosophy of "not to be seen, and able to detect and fire first",the M23 simply realised that they were indeed facing with the "flying devil" and surrender was their only option.
the whole world has armies and air forces from all over africa, europe, and asia combined together as united nations force, some are rearguard, flank guard and then the vanguard, all fighting or guarding against M23 rebels.

NOT only south african military alone fighting M23 rebels. fool cheesy

Since your knowledge about C2 systems can only be compared to that of chimps. Here's a lesson for you: The SANDF's vulture drone is a targeting system for "targets over the horizon",after a target is found around 200km(its range) artillery batteries will close in on the "prey" within 30km or 73km. The battery commander can decide to engage within 73km, HOW? The vulture drone(data link) will send the position of the "prey" to the battery command post, then this information will be transferred to the G6 systems which will download this information and the system will align its gun with the target. Then BOOM!!!!!! Shells starts falling...Nigerian artillery men panic and start firing in every direction with no success, cause the G6 is 67km away. READ about C2 systems IGBO BOY!!!!!!!!
big time buffoon, you just shot yourself in the head again, but this time with a double barrel gun grin

south african vulture drone CANNOT see a target from a distance 200km away, it is the travel and range of flight that is 60km to 200km, called mission radius. for jets fighters, it is called combat radius.

http://www.unmanned.co.uk/autonomous-unmanned-vehicles/uav-data-specifications-fact-sheets/vulture-unmanned-vehicle-uav-specifications-data-sheet/

your vulture drone CANNOT see any nigerian army artillery 200km away, okay ? papa ajasco grin

zaandrew: Last. M23 rag tag rebel force? They a dissplined, well trained, experianced milltary force. They used Tanks, arty, Anti aicraft guns, had standized uniform, held phiyscal terrortory, used radios and were a dangourus threat.
what type of Tank ? T-72 ?

what type of Artillery ? Bofors F-77B ?

what type of Anti-Aircraft guns ? Type 90 Computerized ?

how dangerous is M23 rebel force ?

5,000 weak M23 rebels fighting against a whole world of united nations armies from europe, asia, africa with about 20,000 UN troops and Ukrainian and Indian air force Mi-35 helicopters gunships combined together.

compare that to 120,000 liberian and sierra leonean rebels combined, that fought against 15,000 soldiers deep inside a heavy rain forest/jungle...and Libya's Ghadaffi gave Charles Taylor rebels hand held anti-tank missiles and many truck mounted anti-aircarft guns including 35mm cannon.

rka1: Boko Haram: 270 insurgents killed, as Army destroys camps, hideouts in Borno

Written by James Bwala - Maiduguri

Tuesday, 05 November 2013 23:19

The 7 Division, Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, on Tuesday said, its troops were able to trace the camps and hideouts of Boko Haram insurgents and eventually destroyed them thereby inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorist elements.

Unconfirmed reports from the area of military operations in the last one week revealed that no fewer than [b]400 Boko Haram insurgents suffered severe blow from military gunfire with 270 allegedly killed in gun battle.

But the military in Maiduguri said that casualty figure should not be of concern now as operations were ongoing to ensure that insurgency is brought to zero level in Borno State.

It read: “During the operations, several Boko Haram terrorists’ vehicles were destroyed. Some of the vehicles destroyed were containing improvised explosive device (IED) meant to be detonated in some towns and villages within Borno State.”
It recalled that previously, the insurgents around Gamboru-Ngala, Mafa, Dikwa and Marte roads arbitrarily blocked the roads and caused havoc to motorists and adjacent villages.

drag_on: we purchase 48 units of the F77B the rest is F77A i got that info somewhere i cant remember anymore.
wikipedia is the source, nigeria has 73 units of Bofors F-77 Artillery.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Army

we upgraded or traded/exchanged 48 units to 60km range maybe with india or sweden, or done locally at nigerdock artillery technology services unit at apapa lagos.

nigerdock builds ships and also repairs/rebuilds army artillery guns.

so you are saying this now ?

why did you not say this when your foolish south african friends like @msauza and @mike.za were saying nigeria has no real war experience be cause we did not fight another country for many years....as if it is an act of african brotherliness for nigeria to invade other african countries and begin to tear them to pieces with our superior military might.

zaandrew: I find it odd that nigeria got there's upgraded before india. Since india only just teseted a protyp of the FH77L45 and swedden has yet to put in to serves there L52s so how did nigiria jump the line?

And the L52 is not just chaing the barrel the FH77 B05 is a lot more it has new fir control coputors(somthing you mocked and said was not needed) ammunastion handling, you need to modfie the entire platform. Yes you could just switch the L39 barrel for a L52 that is not hard but then you limting your self.
a navy cook must be confused since this artillery matter is bigger than onions and tomatoes grin

you never complained when i posted beegeagle source information that nigeria has upgraded its scorpion tanks from 76mm gun to 90mm gun with longer range. now you complain about upgrade of nigerian Bofors artillery from 30km to 60km gun range.

you r daily prayer is that no other country in africa will every get artillery range close to the 67km of south african G6 artillery.

sorry to disappoint you, God refused to answer your selfish prayers grin

anyway, your information is very out-dated, India has completed upgrade its Bofors L52 artillery, i even watched its video public demonstration where it is declared to fire 42km shell without rocket assistance or excalibur.

@andrewza, you and all your outdated south african friends are victims of very poor research and underestimating other countries weapons advancement

oh yes you will choose a weaker weapon for battle, why not ?

since you are just a navy cook/chef, costly mistake in combat is a must for your level grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 2:12am On Nov 07, 2013
zaandrew: Wether nigeria upgraded to the 155mm L52 is only one issue(and I want proof you did) the fact is that 60km is achieved useing Excalibur rounds. Nigeria is not a user of Excalibur rounds nor of the 45km bouns rounds. I am not even sure if nigeria uses bass bleed but I will give you the benfit of the doubt since they made by a few countries, even then it is 40km. So the max range is 40km(that is if you upgraded to the L52) not 60km. Stop pedlialing your bull.
you want to speak with authority about artillery shells of other countries armies that have not sent their information to you.

who told you that Excalibur is the only artillery shell that Bofors haubit can fire to 60km range ?

do you know what India has developed ? India makes long range ballistic missiles with range of 5,000 km !!!

http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/agni-5-india-s-most-potent-nuclear-capable-ballistic-missile-launched-successfully-418800

tell your 3 year old son a big lie that India cannot make shells for its Bofors artillery to range 60km and sell the same shells to nigeria.

you want to use public internet to get 100% perfect information about other the artillery shells that different countries develop, test, use and store in their armoury.

you are a big joker grin

you think military is like police ?

show us the list and source of how many 67km to 73 km range shells south african army has in its armoury for its G6 artillery.

DENEL makes or tests a weapon does not mean it is in use by south african army. A-Darta missile is NOT yet in service.

there is NO popular military weapons sales log website that lists how many and what type of artillery shells nations buy, the list will be in millions of shells of all types, high explosive, armour piercing, heat anti-armour, smoke, illumination, incendiary, etc.

if you want to count artillery shells of countries, you will count till your head grows grey hairs.

dont try to be a master of what you are not. fool grin

thanks bro.

all the 3 countries (sweden, india, nigeria) Bofors F-77 B0 L52 users have upgraded their artillery guns to 60km range.

nigeria is said to have about 77 units of the guns, but it seems only 48 units were upgraded, as my new source gave only that number.

You might have the range but ask the SANDF what learnt in Angola. You need target fixation, you can fire shells at 60km but without hitting your intended targets.

now i post nigerian army 60km range artillery then you say the distance is too far for accuracy grin

were you not the one boasting here every week about how south africa used G6 artillery 60km long range to teach cuba a lesson in angolan bush war ?

now you confess like a witch about to be stoned, that the south african long range artillery was a waste of effort and time as it did NOT help you win the war or even stop cuba from almost defeating you.... grin

You might have the range but ask the SANDF what learnt in Angola. You need target fixation, you can fire shells at 60km but without hitting your intended targets. That's why the SANDF uses drones and Ratels to select targets. Nigeria artillery pieces can be useless cause South Africa's Oryx helo can jam your communication posts in the field. Leaving them to be destroyed by air strikes from Hawks and Griffins.
nigerian military have electronic warfare anti-jamming devices, etc, we just had a full scale modenization of nigerian air defences with India and Israel.

nigerian Roland missiles and Type 90 anti-aircarft artillery will shoot down all south african drones, helicopters and jet fighters.

F-7 jet will shoot down Gripen jet, or both shoot down each other and die together.

then nigerian MBB-339 jet fighters will use rockets in ground attack mode to wipe out south african G6 artillery guns.

GAME OVER grin

The G6 can put a shell precisely 70km away. Your 60km is nothing new to us.
hey dude, the south african G6 artillery does not fire any standard-basic shell to 73km, its standard-basic is 30km about the same as nigerian Bofors.

both Bofors and G6 need rocket-velocity enhancement projectile to help them to 60km Bofors range and 73km G6 range.

however, the internationally recognized maximum range of the south african G6 artillery is 67km, the DENEL test of 73km is a private affair not yet proved and accepted by the global military world.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust:
zaandrew: There is a lot wrong with this post.

1 and this is a very big one. Nigeria does not have any archer sytems. The sytem is new and not even in full profucstion. Not even sweden or finland have a full battery.

2 this is a nother very big one. 60km range is achieved through exulber rounds that are very high tech(meaning they expensive and no nigerian copy), need a lot of suppory to use(you need speciol targeting sytems and computors) and this is a big one nigeria does not use them nore will america sell them to you.

2 nigeria uses the L38 with a max range of 27km so please try this with somer where else.
The Nigerian FH-77Bs and the original Indian FH-77Bs had a parallel pepperpot muzzle brake but, following trials with the more recent ammunition types, including HEER used with charge 9, a new and more efficient muzzle brake of the double-baffle type was developed. This was fitted to late production FH-77Bs and has now been retrofitted to earlier weapons.

nigerian army Bofors FH-77 B05 L52 artillery gun with 60km range

you are lost behind time man ! you are really lost and outdated grin

there is new information, call it archer or call it any name, the guns upgrade for sweden, nigeria, and india are all the same 60km range artillery.

a lot of things have changed. i have a new source international military weapons to prove my claim.

i just want to kick you south africans around and give you some high blood pressure before i post my second source.

those who called the nigerian gun archer are not totally wrong, the gun is the same, but the volvo vehicle self propelled version is the only one that should be called archer.

archer is NOT F-77 B05 L52 of nigeria, archer is F-77 BW L52.

you are the one who is confused. we nigerians have cleared all the cloud around that information, now we know our weapon, beegeagle confirmed it, and i have an international weapons source to prove that we nigerians are right about that claim we have been making since early this year 2013.

lots of upgrading has taken place....have you read this.....? find the source, i have the weblink, but i wont give you today grin

The FH-77 B05 L52 enables a range of 40 plus km to be achieved with standard base bleed projectiles. It is fitted with an integrated navigation, positioning and aligning system and onboard ballistic computation.

Many of the components of the latest FH-77 B05 L52 are identical to the existing FH-77B, which allows existing customers to upgrade their weapons with a 155 mm/52 calibre barrel."

rka1: The IRA ambushed British troops over and over again including attacking army bases in Northern Ireland. They were different from your standard Islamic nutcase as they didn't want to be identified and operated covertly so the comparisons are wrong anyway.

It is no longer the JTF but the Army 7th Division now in charge of operations, hence they tried to target the Police who are a softer touch because they are naturally not as heavily armed.

Do you think if the SANDF had to establish road blocks and patrol CAR in a certain AOR they would not suffer casualties?

Your engagement with Seleka rebels was just an introduction.

No it was a checkpoint and it failed in it's role since BH got a large force through it.

In the long run nigeria is winning thanks to attrsion. If BH numers were close to that of the JTF this would be a very fiffrent war. BH is should never of gotten this strong but there were faluers.
i think you like it when i call you a navy cook/chef.

did you ever learn the principles of war in any military academy ?

the fighting force that controls the contested territory, hoists its flag, take possession of the land, enforce its own laws on the resident people, is the force that WON in any battle. that is the international military principle of war or battle victory.

it does not matter who lost more soldiers or who lost less. final control of the land determines the winner.

nigerian army has NEVER lost control of land or territory after a fight, to boko haram.

south african army lost the battle of bangui in CAR to seleka rebels because you ran away from the battlefield and the entire country, no matter what excuses you give for running away, you ran, thats a fact of history you cannot change, live with it.

now boko haram has been pushed into a tight corner by nigerian army within the first 4 months of state of emergency, boko haram now does 99% of its attacks on just 1% of nigerian territory in borno and yobe states towards the borders with niger, chad, cameroon, and that 1% area is almost 100% muslim residents.

boko haram is crippled like dog that has only one front tooth left to bite soft targets like goats and sheep, it can no longer fight a wolf, thanks to the nigerian army.

kill ratio remains about 10:1 in favour of nigerian army and still rules the land...that is a victory.

mighty world super powers American/NATO military lost about 10,000 soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan within about 7 years, about 90% of them died in guerrilla/terrorist hit and run attacks of islamic terrorists who jump out of nowhere, often from among muslim civilians.

mighty nigerian army....i salute you !!!
