saengine: Today you are on a roll grin

Weapons systems (especially missile systems) become obsulete if the original manfucaturer no longer exists, or if there if no one to produce under license. I say especially missile systems for a reason. Example our anti tank Ratels are not produced anymore but can be maintained enough to fire Ingwe missiles. Now if Denel stopped producing Ingwe missiles, or Ratels would be useless. We would have to find a replacement. You can maintain heavy equipment to keep running, you cant maintain missiles to keep exploding grin.

And then you have the guts to call yourself a teacher. Swingfire used command to line of sight. Meaning there was a beam (optical or otherwise) pointing at the target. The reason you think it moves like a snake is the missile simply recalculating its position relative to this beam. If you go onto youtube you will see how all wire guided missiles seem to dance from left to right and up and down before hitting a target. The wire simply sends information back and forth between the missile and the sight. Your missile can dance like a snake, jump like a kangaroo, swim like a fish...do all it wants, but when it reaches the target it is pretty much riding that beam exactly. There is no dancing at the end. Then you have the stup*dity to think it might dodge a Mongoose missile, which only fires a few hundreds of a second before impact. Haha...okay. grin
T-55 Tank is obsolete today and out of production...but it will k.ill, thats all it needs to do.

SAM-2 missile is obsolete, developed in 1957, but its last version also now obsolete, shot down american F-16 jets in bosnia...30 year old missile. try learn war history.

swingfire has optical sight, NO laser beam you dummy ! one operator is enough, NOT 2 people operating from different places as your dream tells you because you are asleep on your laptop. swing fire is fly wire guided, and it swings according to the wish of the launcher....it evades anything that tries to stop it including targets defences. try not to sleep walk...you fall into ditches grin

from video below, listen to the narrators words, see the fly wire guidance and show me the laser beam or light beam guidance you dreamed about in swingfire missile...dummy grin

saengine: http://www.turbomeca.co.za/default_files/Page393.htm

Turbomeca Africa’s roots go back as far as 1967, then known as Atlas Aircraft Corporation and later Denel Airmotive. In 2002, Turbomeca France (51%) and Denel (49%) entered into a joint venture and Turbomeca Africa was established. Being now a subsidiary of SAFRAN with its vast experience makes Turbomeca Africa a true contributor to the world aviation industry. Based adjacent to the O R Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, Turbomeca Africa has extensive capabilities in manufacturing, new assembly and maintenance, repair and overhaul of both commercial and military aircraft engines.

Rooivalk engines are looked after nicely at home. If need be we'll make our engines from here. The facilities and engineers in Jonhannesburg wont run away or be bombed. What will you do? Use paddles?
Turbomeca is still a French company and the engine inside south africa Rooivalk helicopter is made by France. period.

saengine: And what those people commenting dont understand is that these are pre-selection trials. Before being even considered for the navy selection programme you have to prove you're able to swim....which is what you see in the video. Those cadets are not part of the Navy, they are trying to get in. Just like you have to do physical trials to get into special forces before day 1 of training. Compare the people in that video to the Marine Reaction Squadron....big difference.
stop telling bedtime stories. show us how south african army can defeat algerian army in infantry man to man combat.

south african army is 100% weak and cowards, show us how your army will do battle in hard fire fight close in combat, hand to hand, fix bayonets, kick and k.ill ! show us...urban city type of warfare in close contact man to man.

And for the photo, maybe he put the wrong photo, but he claimed the right product.
yes you are correct. i put a javelin photo because i cannot find swingfire photo. i wanted to show how anti-tank guided missile is used by one hiding soldier man in the bush against a Tank/APC. i have only video of swingfire and i posted it earlier on page 500.

wrong photo, right product....you are correct. i apologize for the incovinience i caused. nigeria has swing fire anti tank guided missile no debate, the whole world knows and its recorded on UN ARMS SALES LOG, only 4 countries in africa have it in africa...nigeria, sudan, egypt, kenya. it is the best ATGM in the africa today.

Remind me about CAR please.

This was a quick reaction by the SANDF,Nigeria took months to deploy in Mali
...and why should nigeria rush into mali to defend them without thinking first ? is mali our own father land or mother land ? who pays the war expenses ? nigeria spent $10 billion on liberia sierra leone wars.

south africa went to CAR war for diamond and oil business. south africa is in Congo DRC for oil business. we hear reports that jacob zuma's brother has oil business there and needs peace to enjoy it.

south african military is now a mercenary force digging minerals all over sick african countries territory. thief, ole , barawo !

even if it is true, south africa sells more weapons than it puts into national domestic defense use because your defence industry is broke and desperate for cash. thats why since 22 years ago of manufacturing this helicopter only 11 units Rooivalk helicopter is in south africa air force. also since 25 years of manufacturing G6 mobile artillery gun only 46 units is in the whole south african army.

nigeria is not yet exporting weapons because we have huge local demand to equip our 200,000 man military forces to defend a 170 million people nation.

You have been claiming things about Nigeria for a while now. We keep proving you wrong.
I have personnally proved to you that that missile was guided.
Something you said we didn't have.
Now you have in the worse of faiths gone to another claim.
After how man y mistakes will you finally be a man and sy you are wrong and that you know nothing about our capabilities ?
Nigeria has missiles which can do all you said. We don't do things ^partially in the Nigerian armed forces.
nigeria builds locally and operates land drones USV , air drones UAV and remote control bomb detonating robots. any country that produces UAV drone and tracks/guides it through the air for 8 hours flight all over the airspace for 200km, has the technical capability to guide a missile in the same air for 120km. nigeria has that technology . simple.

the engine of the south african rooivalk helicopter you posted in photo above is made 100% in france by a french company then purchased fully built and imported into south africa, without it the helicopter is a piece of metal junk that sits on the floor in a farm like fat turkey !

south african rooivalk helicopter has never been tested in any battle. no country has ever purchased it except south africa. only 11 pieces of it exist in the whole world. its a waste of money project and monumental world market failure.

the most advanced attack helicopter in africa is Egyptian air force Apache, no contest.

nigeria testing locally made long-range rockets/missiles at epe town on lagos sea coast

@Spirit says:
July 22, 2012 at 5:09 am
@Henry,
Your country has been “secretly” building and testing long range rockets (missiles?) in Epe, Lagos state. I know guys living in the area that claim they sometimes see the missiles soaring into the night skies even before the MOD made it public some 3 years ago. I thought the projects has been scrapped until the minister mentioned it last month.

http://beegeagle./2012/07/21/nigeria-success-story-in-defence-industry/

quote from :

Dr. Robert Ajaiyi Boroffice granted, before separating officially from the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA)— where he served as Director-General and Chief Executive Officer for eight years

"I once wrote a story in The Sunday Guardian about NASRDA’s testing of experimental rockets at Epe, Lagos State…That caused quite an up-roar, globally!

Yes. So you can see what I mean! (Laughing) It’s a very sensitive issue.

So, where does the space programme go from here?

We are at a very critical stage of the space programme in Nigeria. NASRDA is putting one of the most important infrastructures on ground."

saengine: Hehehehe. Own goal after own goal after own goal. I said which missiles are Nigeria training with if production of Swingfire ended in 1993? This is why there is now a debate about Nigeria producing its own missiles. And dont talk about Britain, they obviously bought the largest number of missiles and have the biggest stockpile. So you must pick one....either your troops are training by firing 1 missile a year since 1993 or you will come to battle with a big stock of missiles but non of the young fresh troops know how to fire them grin grin. I didnt read the rubbish about you trying to explain the picture. You cant find a picture of Nigerian Swingfirehuh Maybe its classified like your secret balloons. Or maybe its an old missile the world stopped making 20 years ago.

Um...can i ask you something? Did you pull that information about Mongoose from your a**? You just felt like making stuff up didnt you? Mongoose gives protection from RPG's, rockets and anti tank missiles. Has nothing to do with tracking lasers. Thats why it can hit an RPG. RPG's are not laser guided, they dont have any guidance at all. The fact that you highlighted that in red must be one of your lowest moments on this forum. embarassed
so, all the missiles and weapons owned by all militaries of the world from europe to asia to afica cannot be effectively used today if the manufacturer stopped production in 1993 ?

you are really dumbo ! britain stopped production of swingfire, but egypt still produces it, get education below

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/egypt/abd.htm

who told you that any weapon in the world becomes useless to all countries that purchased them after the manufacturer stops production ? so south african army milan anti-tank missiles too have become useless since france stopped production long ago ? see why i stopped asking after your sister ? she's gonna be thinking just like you !

i know what i posted, dont compare guided missile with ordinary RPG of seleka rebel. the only guaranty of stopping a guided missile is to track and detect by its guidance system so that it does not maneuver and dribble the mongoose, because the launcher does not fire and forget swingfre, its not radar guided, its flying wire guided to ensure it is always controlled and driven like a jet fighter aircraft by the soldier to gurantee k.illing the enemy target.

i said go read the weblkink i posted for nigerian army swingfire missile, it swings around after it is fired, swing fire swings when fired and manuevers like a snake towards its target at very high speed, it will eat up both your tank and your tanks defences.

i wont answer you again....you need to be on a police vs armed robbers thread, not military topic ! i wont waste my time replying you on anti-tank missiles again. entertain yourself and deceive yourself.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 6:05pm On Jul 16, 2013
saengine: Why put a picture of the Javelin anti-tank missile? Delete that picture you fraud, it has nothing to do with Nigeria.

And which Swingfire missiles are you going to fire at us if YOUR link states production ended in 1993. How do you train your troops to use it? You fire 1 missile a year for the past 20 years? You must choose.....either you have no missiles to fight us, or you have missiles but troops who are completely useless at using them. And don't talk about Britain and other users, they obviously bought more missiles than Nigeria.

Add to that the new series of IFV's are slated to be fitted with the Mongoose hard kill protection system. One of the best systems around. Your 1 lonely soldier that knows how to use your remaining Swingfire will look in shock as his missile is blown to pieces from his hiding spot.
if you think nigerian army does not know how to use their own swingfire anti-tank guided missiles, put 5 people in your family in one car and ask a nigerian soldier to fire the missile on your family, then after the testing, ask your family menbers if they feel anything like a headache or stomach ache

now back to school my boy, i take you again to my classroom for todays lecture.

i first posted video of swingfire missile on page 500 as part of my promise 3 days ago to forum members to post 'general photos' of swingfire missile, i already declared i dont have any photo of nigerian swingfire missile, but my many sources posted confirms nigeria has swing-fire missile.

no nigerian has ever detailed this missile on this forum and that is a big oversight, and @andrewza always avoided it on page 1 to 12 of this thread it because you guys dont want nigeria to have any missile...you are all dreaming dumboes !

so where is my fraud you fool ?

my second post of swingfire is to show battlefield use of anti-tank missiles NOT to show a photo of swingfire. the 3 missiles in that second post are not swingfire and i did not say they are. i wanted people to see how real live combat use of anti-tank missiles is done since you cannot help the forum to learn the real art of war, all you do is copy and paste photos from DENEL website you dumbo ?

i just showed this forum photos to prove my point that anti-tank missiles can be fired from hidden positions in bush or house windows. show me the fraud i committed by sharing that information with this forum ?

all you south africans never help us to see real war situation, all you do is post range and paint colour of weapons to mislead us here and give a wrong impression that war is won by producing and photographing weapons on internet.

sorry to disappoint you, not only south africa has defence against anti-tank missiles, most modern armoured vehicles have it including the super types like nigerian BTR-3U IFV and MOWAG APC vehicles, even smaller APC's of modern times have decoys protection. so dont let your south african DENEL decieve you, anti-missile protection has been existing in europe, america, asia before DENEL tried to make one.

lastly, my student, i have to disappoint you again, that your s.tupid DENEL Mongoose hard kill protection system will not save south african army armoured vehicles from nigerian army swingfire anti-tank guided missile because the mongoose detects laser guided missiles by their laser rays and defends itself, but unfortunately for south africa, nigerian army swingfire antitank missile is not laser guided, it uses flying wire guidance and it will destroy all, i mean all south african army armoured vehicles of all categories and all brand names.....

nigerian army swing-fire anti tank guided missile remains the most deadly in all africa !

Zuma's support in the ANC was huge and was a proof that he could become the president of the organisation and eventually of the country. Hence, his rivals conspired with that lady to visit Zuma and seduce him so that he would land in jail should the lady press charges of rape. Firstly, that lady visited Zuma at his house and walked about the house naked after she had bath. She then afterwards asked Zuma for body massage, for which Zuma voluntarily offered to do it. saengine: I've been looking for this pic for a while. The anti tank version of the Badger IFV.
So now people can see two of the 5 variants being built for the SA Army.

Anti - Tank

30 mm CAM GUN
nigerian army has BTR-3U IFV and is a modular amoured vehicle that can perform all land combat roles listed below and that includes anti-tank guided missile firing against enemy Tanks or IFV/APC

The BTR-3U is fitted with the one-person KBA-105 "Shkval" unified fighting module which can accommodate 30mm gun, 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, 30mm automatic grenade launcher and anti-tank guided weapons. This module was developed by the State Scientific Technical Centre of Artillery & Rifle Arms of Ukraine. The Shkval fighting module design is very flexible, which makes it possible to easily replace an existing weapon with another one.

The 30 mm dual-feed cannon has 350 rounds of ready-use ammunition.

A total of 2,500 rounds are carried for the 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.

The 30 mm grenade launcher is mounted on the left side of the turret, having 29 rounds of ready-use ammunition, with additional 87 rounds being carried in reserve (three magazines, each containing 29 rounds).

Six 81 mm electrically operated smoke/aerosol grenade launchers are mounted three either side of the turret rear and firing forwards.

The sighting systems include a commander’s 1PZ-3 observation periscope and a TKN-4S Agat stabilised sight which is integrated with the missile fire control system.

South African weapons were designed to deal with Russian made weapons. More specific the Olifant(Afrikaans for Elephant) MBT which was designed,to deal with the threat of Angola might soon be equipped with the T-72 tank. And sir all your mechanised units can perish front of any SANDF vehicle equipped with the Ingwe missile with a range of 5,5 km,with bloody deadly accuracy.
swingfire anti-tank guided missile of nigerian army is the most deadly in africa....

it can be fired from a vehicle like made in nigeria Proforce APC anti-tank version or fired by one single nigerian soldier hiding in secret location from any range between 0.15km to 4km away safely (in the bush, house bedroom window, tree top, house roof top) from the enemy Tanks or Armoured Vehicles when it is fired, the soldier or Cobra APC/VBL APC that fired it will not be located because the nigerian swingfire is the only anti-tank guided missile in the world that makes a 90 degree turn away from launching source to deceive and confuse the enemy tank about the location of the nigerian soldier, it also attacks the enemy from behind when it is launched from the front to confuse the enemy and avoid counter attack from enemy forces. nigerian swingfire missile has unique and special ability to be fired from secret locations.

nigerian army swingfire anti-tank guided missiles will delete from the earths surface, all south african armoured vehicles and tanks. period

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swingfire

i dont have swingfire missile photos, i only have video. so lets see photo of other types of missiles , e.g. javelin anti-tank missile.

below are some other similar types of missiles to show live combat use. the first is javelin missile that into service after swingfire.

Don't you think this NNS Armada is just wishful thinking? To be honest with my self, I don't believe this NNS armanda story.

1 aircraft carrier cost = 4 billion dollars
Our defence budget. = 3.3 billion dollars

Wetin we wan dey land on top na
he may not have a source today to prove, but his first post on it said more helicopters than jets, and project slowed down due to pressure of funds. lets not judge yet, he said its proposed plan. lets wait and see near future.

Hezron Lorraine: NNS Armanda(something something, don't remember the full name) coming soon b4 end of 2015.its gonna be one of Nigeria's biggest warship.

Its gonna have carrying capacity of 6 fighter jets,12 helos.

(Its only stranded due to the large projects embarked on by the NN).its gonna be with world class artilleries, best technology so far.
#Naija on top.
beegeagle talked about 12 nigerian navy helicopters to be purchased from france, A550 Fennec helos.

it is a small aircraft carrier based on his post and could be second hand or custom built new in a cheap chines or indian shipyard i guess. so cost may be just $500 million and diesel powered, that class is called 'pocket size aircraft carriers' because they are small.

india purchased a second hand russian aircraft carrier for about $700 million recently.

nigeria may be looking for a forward offshore platform for helicopters to protect deep offshore oil rigs in quick response time. president jonathan said at this months army day celebrations that nigeria will focus on oil & gas protected by technology and powerful weapons, as his personal defence policy.

such a helicopter platform stationed deep off shore 200km from coast will give nigeria 30 minutes naval attack helicopter rapid response to any threat to our many scattered off shore oil and gas platforms, that 30 minutes will save lives and business compared to a 3 hour response time from surface slower sailing ships and vessels.

nigerian navy chief has said the new policy is to be at sea always and being ably to move anywhere there is threat without delay.

the money nigeria will lose if we dont protect our oil industry in just one year is equal to the value of all 350 warships and boats in the entire nigerian navy.

in the past 7 years all other african regional powers have spent billions of dollars to buy new warships and submarines for their already powerful navy, estimates are egypt spent $2 billion, south africa $3 billion, algeria $4 billion, nigeria less than $1 billion.

nigerian oil and gas revenue in the next 7 years is about $100 billion, the tiny 1% spent on nigerian navy for 7 years is too small, why not spend 5% of the money spread over 7 years to protect our oil and gas export business like algeria is doing now.

it is ten times cheaper to spend on powerful navy than to lose oil industry revenue of yearly billions of dollars.

the $4 billion dollar aircraft carriers are the american or NATO brand new large sized nuclear powered aircraft carriers.

the powerful chinese Type 056 frigate costs far below $100 million each while german valour frigate costs about $400 million each and the chinese warship is 4 times more deadly in missile power.

chinese JF-17 Block II jet is equal to Gripen jet but costs $25 million each while sweden's Gripen costs $50 million each.

those who have money to waste can keep buying european and american heavy weapons. china and india offer same weapons or even some times better for much cheaper prices. when last did nigeria buy british or american weapon ? its now china and india.

saengine: This was not your original post fool. Your GRAND 500 post said Nigeria WILL HAVE C-803 anti ship missiles with a range of 300km. You have absolutely no proof to back up that statement. You just went onto the internet and found a missile with the longest range you can, so that you can say its 4 times more powerful than SA Frigates. Your own wikipedia link that you put up says the missile is unlikely to enter large scale production. Not even China's Navy purchased it according to your own link. Your GRAND 500 post is a massive failure. Massive. Make this post again in 2014 when we all know which missiles will be on your boats.
C-803 anti-ship missile is the standard missile for all Type 056 warships. so sharaaap !!!

"The C-803/YJ-83 program began in the early months of 1994. From November 1995 through November 1996, a total of five flight tests were conducted. Three were failures, including a test conducted on 15 November 1995, during which the test missile immediately plunged into the water as soon as it left the launcher. Analysis of the event later revealed that all failures were caused by the missile's propulsion systems. As a result of the failures, a suggestion was made to abandon the project altogether and instead adopt imported Russian systems. after numerous attempts and trials the domestic development and upgrade of the indigenous propulsion systems of these missiles was finally completed."

In June 1998, a test flight was conducted after the new quality policy was implemented, and was successful. Four months later, two missiles scored direct hits on their targets at the maximum range in test flights. Immediately following these two successes, another three tests were conducted, two of which were completely successful, while the other was considered partially successful. After many more tests, the C-803 missile was finally accepted into service"

dont try to select one sentence out of one hundred and cut off the rest of the story to tell a lie and confuse people. most weapons have failures during development and testing stages like your south african Gripen jets in sweden was a technical failure for 10 years from 1982 to 1992, does that mean no air force flies Gripen jet today ? educate your self below...fool :

QUOTE

"Sweden first ordered the JAS 39 in 1982; this first order was named Batch One and consisted of 30 JAS 39A single-seaters. The first Gripen was rolled out on 26 April 1987, marking Saab's 50th anniversary. Originally planned to fly in 1987, the first prototype (serial number 39-1) took its maiden flight on 9 December 1988 with pilot Stig Holmström at the controls. During the test programme, concern surfaced about the aircraft's avionics, specifically the fly-by-wire flight control system (FCS), and the relaxed stability design configuration. On 2 February 1989, this issue was dramatically highlighted with the crash of the prototype during an attempted landing at Linköping; test pilot Lars Rådeström was able to walk away with only a broken arm. The cause of the crash was identified as pilot-induced oscillation (PIO), caused by problems to the FCS's pitch-control routine.

To rectify the first and earlier problem, Saab and US firm Calspan introduced major software improvements to the aircraft. A modified Lockheed NT-33A was used in testing; flight testing resumed within 15 months following the accident. The programme was again hindered when, on 8 August 1993, production aircraft 39102 was destroyed in an accident during an aerial display in Stockholm.
Test pilot Rådeström lost control of the aircraft during a roll at low altitude, and the aircraft rapidly stalled, forcing him to eject. Saab later found the problem to be high amplification of the pilot's quick and significant stick command inputs. The ensuing investigations and rectification of the flaws delayed test flying by several months, resuming in December 1993. "

show us south african army displaying great physical strength for infantry hand to hand combat, not photo of shiny gloss painted weapons that cannot work inside thick jungle/forest warfare or in fully built up residential tight space urban city warfare.

before you post, watch video of the algerian army of africa below and show us south african army video like that.
