Donian007: Andreza and his recycling with rag tag magazines. We have dealt with these issues in previous pages and its quite a shame that you have refused to be enlightened and corrected. The funny thing is that none of these writers can provide proof of their reports as none of them have ever been to the hot zones, on the other hand the military have taken some local and foreign media to the hot zones to see for themselves. Premium Times, BBC, Sahara Reporters, Aljazeera, Guardian UK can keep up the lies but it takes a complete fool to rely on these. Andrewza stand corrected.
thats why sometimes i have to call @Andrewza a F00L grin i am sure he is one grin sorry for my harsh language.

i know the Seleka disgrace of south african army is making @Andrewza look for 'revenge' but he will never find nigerian army in the same low shame class of south african army, or a nigerian president bowing down to an american obama like servant to master. grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust:
all4naija: You are talking about the old variants. The new variants that F-7NI belong to is used by People's Liberation Army Air Force, Pakistan Air Force,Bangladesh Air Force, Korean People's Air Force,Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force,Egyptian Air Force and Nigeria. Many of the countries which are richer than South Africa, militarily and otherwise.

I don't understand your baseless argument about the F-7NI fighter cheap price and crappy nature claim.
i have answered this question on this forum several times this month and also today july 1st.

dont let any south african guy here confuse you, F-7NI jet is not crap, China is the 3rd most powerful country in the world and about 35% of china's air force is F-7 jets, they have almost 400 units of F-7 jet out of about 1,300 total combat jet aircrafts.

you see why i sometimes insult these south africans, they condemn every nigerian weapon, they also said satellites are useless just because they dont have any satellite. learn to ignore a F00L when he is super-glued to his F00LISHNESS.

F-7 jet is built for low to medium threat combat and it is good at that job. 40 out of 48 african air forces cannot defeat an F-7 jet.

however, nigeria purchased F-7 jet as temporary jet till we decide whether to buy SU-27, SU-30, or JF-17 Thunder. nigeria will not rush into advanced and expensive jet fighter purchase without proper assurance of regular maintenance so that we dont end up like a F00LISH south africa that was bribed by swedens saab company to buy 26 Gripen jets it cannot maintain, it has 12 of the jets in 'frozen' long term non-use storage and only 6 to 8 pilots for the remaining 14 jets.

other 8 african countries except maybe algeria have problems maintaining their better SU-27, SU-30, MIG 29, GRIPEN JETS.

nigeria learnt that hard lesson 20 years ago with our Jaguar Jets almost brand new till now but all in 'cold' non-use storage.

Nigeria has money to buy 50 Gripen jets or 100 JF-17 Thunder jets today, but our air force marshals say we will use our brains before we buy .....no more careless choice of sophisticated jet fighters, the best deal must guarantee regular and easy maintenance to keep all the jets flying, not in long term storage.

nigerian air force great Jaguar jet, a wrong choice NAF swore never to repeat, vows to make an excellent new choice

all4naija: [i]The specifications of both fighter jets will prove you wrong. You are only looking at the body design to judge both aircrafts. The specifications of both fighter jets as follow:
F-7 jet compares to SAAB Viggen jet not SAAB Gripen jet.

F-17 jet (J-F17 Thunder Block II) is equal to Gripen jet.

true the speed, combat range, altitude, climb rate, cannon, etc of both F-7 and Gripen are about the same, Gripen has better avionics especially radar and electronic counter measures for self defense. F-7 jet of nigeria costs $15m each, Gripen jet costs $50m each.

however, Gripen jet is zero threat to a d.eadly nigerian air defence system as proved on past pages in here april/may.

Nigeria is under pressure from pakistan to join them as user, manufacturer and marketer of the powerful JF-17 Thunder jet Block II which is equal to Gripen jet in all vital aspects

patriot4: Can any of my fellow Nigerians tell me if we have ballistic missiles yet ?
Not yet, Nigeria is trying to build long range ballistic missiles, long term project. Nigeria wants to be the most powerful nation in africa and top 15 in the world. Nigeria is talking to Russia for to full size modern nuclear reactor building in outskirts of Abuja.

dont let those south africans waste your time, nigerian military communications were modernised by israel, india, and italy.

very few country posts such details on internet just to please some south africans on nairaland. datalink , downlink, etc are part of military electronics hard to understand and detail unless you are a professional engineer in that field, its complex, dont let them waste your time...none of us on nairaland is a qualified electronics/telecommunications engineer.

souldust: why do militaries shift from one system of ranking to the other? I see no reason why Nigeria should shift from british system to american since we were colonised by them.

we still dont call our generals three, four, five star generals. It is still Brigadier, Major, Lieutanant and General.
brigadier is called brigadier in british system. in american system it is brigadier-general and nigeria uses that now because babangida changed it to make the people know that a brigadier is a general too.

generals are not called by stars, just by the general rank adding lieutenant, brigadier, major to the general.

saengine: 1. Don't post pics of an F-7MG that has nothing at all to do with the Nigerian Air Force.
2. Even if your F-7 is 50% better than the Migs of 1970's, it's still a piece of crap by today's standards (read the comments on that blog. Other Nigerians are not ashamed to admit that it's a piece of junk)
3. This is what you are doing....you're going to a car dealer in 2013, buying a 2nd hand car built in 1995, then telling your friend's you drive a 2013 model car based on the year you bought it. You can lie to your friends (fellow Nigerians) but the rest of us don't believe you.
4. I have searched that document of yours. Nowhere does it say datalink. Since you claim to have read it on there, please just copy paste the sentence you found it on.
5.It's sad that you can only simulate the F-7 against a Rooivalk grin. With a radar range of 15km, your missiles are completely blind after 15km. What guidance are they using for the other 7km? Prayer? Like most air-air missiles IR guidance is used for the last few kilometers, with radar guiding the missile near the target.
6. Refer back to point 4. Please post proof of any data-link with regards to Nigerian F-7s
i defeated your argument so swallow the bitter pill first....i am your seleka today grin

Saab Gripen jet is development of Saab Viggen jet of 1971, and they are not the same capability.

educate your self http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_37_Viggen

same way, F-7 Jet is an advanced development and NOT the old Mig-21 jet. or Gripen jet is same as Viggen jet too ?

F-7NI jet of nigeria is all we need to rule west african sub region and shoot down the whole air forces of 40 out of 48 african countries. all the 8 african african air forces with better jets are far away outside nigerian region and have no range to arm their jets and still fly to threaten nigeria.

nigeria does not depend on jet aircraft for now, we depend on the most powerful air defence in the whole of africa that will shoot down the whole south african air force in 5 minutes.

nigerian defence plan is enough to protect nigeria, we are not at war with Russia or America !

go back to older pages of this thread and dont waste our time, we discussed this in detail months ago. swallow the pain of the fact that south african Gripen jets are zero threat to nigeria.

andrewza: It can be 100% better than a mig 21 it is still crap. The mig 21 is outdated and bragging about it is just wrong.
simple internet information settles the matter, Mig-21 is an 2nd generation russian jet, F-7 NI is a 3rd generation chinese jet. i dont care what you believe, thats your personal problem. F-7NI jets will shoot down all south african Rooivalk helicopters easily. show me a war in this world where helicopters shot down jets. go sit down and tell fairy tales to your son in elementary school.

nigerian air force has datalink, if you cannot read thougr it thenj s.hut up you l.azy man.

souldust: an ADC is an odlay (not sure the spelling but you should know it)

@all, why is it that there has never being a field marshal in the nigerian army. And also, its equivalent in the navy and airforce?

Have you had a field marshal in SA army before? And also, its equivalent in the navy and airforce?

Do we currently have Generals in the Nigerian army? I ask this becos, Ihejirika is a Lt. General
Hope i am not irritating you with my questions? If i am, then i appologize
answers have been coming, thanks to my brother @Henry, and my dearly beloved 'enemy' @Andrewza grin

General yakubu gowan almost got to field marshal rank in 1977 as rumoured, but General murtala coup stopped it. General gowon has africa's largest war leadership experience in bi.afran war ans people said he deserved the rank 10 years after the war started.

nigerian army will not have a field marshal anytime, because we changed from british ranking titles to american where field marshal is called General Of The Army, a 5 star general.

5 star general/field marshal position is usually reserved for war time alone if it is to be taken seriously.

a field marshal is a 5 star general using a british rank system. it is very rare today, except some crazy dictator awards it to himself, like the small boy in north korea can make himself one.

navy equivalent is Admiral Of The Fleet, and air force is Marshal Of The Air Force.

general ihejirika of nigeria is a 3 star general. his boss is chief of defence admiral ola saad ibrahim a 4 star general navy equivalent. admiral ibrahim is the most senior officer in nigeria today.
r you.

i hope i tried a bit to answer the nice questions. good to be away from spam for a moment you know grin

saengine: Oh yes, I forgot that I was meant to answer an F-7 question posed by agaugust. Your famous Nigerian beegeagle listed what the F-7 has quite nicely. I was interested in this part.

British Type 226 Skyranger radar: Ranging radar that weigh 41 kg with a range of 15 km.

And then you say Nigeria purchased PL9 missiles with a range of 22km. If this is true (and I'm starting to doubt that this is true), then your Generals deserve to be laughed at. Not only will F-7 jets probably get shot out of the sky before they pick up any enemy aircraft, they can only fire their missiles at almost half their maximum range.....which was my original point. P.S no other sources except the Nigerians on this blog claim that your F-7's can fire PL9 missiles.

http://beegeagle./2010/07/26/nigerian-air-force-receive-last-batch-of-chinese-f7-ni-jets/

And no the F-7's were not produced in 2008 like you claim. There is a difference between produce and procured. The Nigerian F-7's are slightly modified versions of the F-7M Airguard, a 1980's era aircraft. Which aircraft produced in 2008 still uses "rolls of film" and has a 15km radar range? Stop lying to yourself.
https://www.avic.com.cn/upload/Image/mrtp/1_3513026407.jpg

there are things i know about the above source you quoted but i wont tell you because you are not a learner, you are a mere fault finder so i will keep my information my self.

stop entertaining yourself with half information. i knew you would misfire again as usual.

quote how you measured the level of an F-7 jet 'slightly modified version' how slight ? how much difference is between the 1980 Mig 21 and 2008 F-7NI ?

your own beegeagle source defeated you, i quote below....

"According to customers’ claims, F-7M (of which the F7-NI is a later development) is nearly 40% more effective than MiG-21 in terms of overall performance. It can use French R550 Magic and PL-7 Air-to-air missiles."

the older F-7M is already 40% more effective than 1980 Mig 21, and nigerian F-7NI is more effective as a later development superior to the F-7M. you see the word development, meaning 2008 model is a more advanced jet , a development, not a stagnant same old thing. try use your b.rain when you read, looking for things to condemn will only turn you into a F00L.

the above proves to you that nigerian F-7NI jet is not only procured in 2008, it is a year 2008 model more advanced than the older F-7 models and by a very wide margin, not slightly, a very wide margin superior to 1980 Mig 21 jets that has no BVR capability, not HUD target display, weapon aiming computer, and radar guided missiles easy to jam instead of F-7NI infra red homing missiles hard to jam.

the older F-7M carries older PL-7 missile, and nigeria's more adavanced F-7NI carries a more advanced PL-9 missile which is quoted on SIPRI org arms transfer database.

nigeria has data-link for our air force, you cannot find all nigerian military stuff on public internet the way you find south african weapons freely, thank God for @drag_on for proving me right again, he posted nigerian ministry of defence 2013 budget and data-link for nigerian air force aircraft is there, i found it among many weapons and new hi-tech equipment purchased, see the source below

NAF datalink weblink http://www.budgetoffice.gov.ng/2013%20appropriation/11.%20Summary_Defence.pdf

now with F-7NI radar range 15km and missile range 22km, the chinese engineers are more war experienced than you @saengine who has never touched the tyres of a jet fighter talkless of pushing missile button.

F-7NI detects y.our unlucky south african Rooivalk helicopter gunships in that simulation you did, it sees the enemy at 15km away before you launch 10km range mokopa anti-tank missiles on nigerian artillery that you are struggling to find inside their camouflage and behind taller buildings and heavy metal clutter confusion. nigerian F-7NI jet fires its missiles against Rooivalks, if the Rooivalk tries to evade by maneuver within that 15km range, the PL-9 missile has an extra missile range of 7km more than the radar range to also maneuver and keep lock on track against the Rooivalk with the extra missile fuel, to ensure target does not run away or run around within the same range circle, be it enemy jet, enemy cruise missile, enemy guided bomb, or enemy helicopter.

also see your error that F-7 jet cannot speed and manuever, those are the older versions with old wings, the nigerian F-7NI has new wings for speed maneuver without reducing speed rapidly as you wrongly said...

quote from you own beegeagle source

nigerian version F-7NI jet "A totally different wing enabled the take-off and landing distance to be reduced by 20%, while increasing the aerodynamic performance in dogfights."

the above proves a totally different wing for modern aerodynamic performance in combat. you like to misfire my boy.

nigerian F-7NI jet will shoot down all other air forces of 40 out of the 48 african countries. its no crap, its d.eadly for its limited role, and has one of the best missiles in the whole world of SRAAM today, PL-9.

at the end of your self k.illing research, you only proved me right, and proved your self wrong as a mere fault-finder....the nigerian operators and chinese engineers who built our F-7NI jet and armed it with PL-9 missiles are not dumb, its you @saengine that is proved to be a big time d.ummy above grin

Platoon, 25-50 soldiers commanded by lieutenant

Company, 80-200 soldiers commanded by captain/major

Battalion 600-1200 soldiers commanded by lieutenant colonel/colonel (vital in coup plotting ops, battalion commander)

Brigade 3,000-5000 soldiers commanded by brigadier general

Division 10,000-15,000 soldiers commanded by major general

Corps 20,000-50,000 soldiers commanded by lieutenant general

field army 80,000-200,000 soldiers commanded by general

army group 400,000-1,000,000 commanded by field marshal

it differs for navy and air force, because a navy captain is to command a warship and crew size on board ships varie, can be 50 can be 200 seamen.

air force officer like squadron leader may command 6 to 12 jet fighters of 6 to 24 pilots.

compare equivalent army, navy, air force ranks on http://www.nigerianprofessional.com/militaryranks.html

you south africans can sit down in your mediocre intellect country, dont travel out all over the world and learn new things to improve your one way traffic brains. chinese, japanese, indians, russians, etc are all over the world to gain knowledge and export skills back to improve their country.

south africans can sit down at home and compete among themselves with their 33% pass mark 3rd class brains, afraid to go out and compete with people who score 90% in the outside world. so shall you all remain dull forever in pretoria, and bow down for obama like your zuma president when you meet a superior brain from another country of the world.

50 million quater dullards, half dullard, and full dullards, live permanently in south africa imprisoned in self delution and unable to learn from the outside world. grin

empty south african brain box, open it, scan it, find nothing of value !

CraigB: And then you think you'll convince us you're intelligent. Irrelevant rant.

Mexico is red on the failed states index. That explains the movement. Same as in your case. Wake up, Naai-gerian university graduate. Wake up!

Look at Brazil - yellow. You're probably the only researcher and MBA in the world ago can't analyse his way out of a matchbox.
i dont talk to you because your educational level is far below my own and i dont want a kid who has not worked to earn money to buy or build a house and establish a flourishing export business, master the art of lifes's achivement and the technical pathway to successs, to become my chat mate on this forum. sorry you are too low mentally, academically, intellectually, socially, and professionally for me to talk to.

live your life ruled by a list of so called failed states that have growing economies better than south africa. mexico has lower poverty rate, higher international credit rating, foreign cash reserves than brazil and south africa. mexicans in america alone send home over 100 billion dollars annually as diaspora remittance into mexican economy.

cage your teenage brain inside the delusion box of a senseless list of failed nations written by some doomsday prophet, and you remain in a mental trap. i wont waste my time with your type, even your country's masters degree graduates cannot match me, talk less of you, i mean you of all people.....sorry i am not your mate.

Msauza: Then, tell me why are you all over the world seeking greener pastures. Since when did you see Americans with population of over 350mil and Brazilians with over 200mil running like headless chickens asking for jobs in other countries. Nigeria is poor, leave with it.
mexico has economy superior to south africa, unemployment 5%, poverty rate 4%, GDP 3 times more than south africa, yet of mexico's 180 million population over 60 million have moved to america as immigrants legal and illegal !

you are lost in south africa, you dont see outside world, dummy !
