DictatorZAR:
Nigeria has the worst jet fighter squadron in the world and the worst jet crash ratio in sub sahara.
Nigeria's NAF actually has one of the lowest crash rates in the world.

We flew over 6,000 air war sorties this year and lost only 3 aircraft.

Let us see another African country fly 6,000 sorties in 9 months and we can then compare who crashes most.

SAAF did NOT fly one single combat sortie this year ! So how will we measure your crash rate when your air force is already dead and the corpse sent to Russia for resurrection?

That is NOT a dogfight you liar, it's a you tube video of a Hawk and Gripen at a public airshow.

Air forces don't do combat dogfight over the heads of civilian crowds in a city....you must be a clown indeed.

Lion Effort this year 2015 in Europe, SAAF was missing because the whitemen will not dogfight your unqualified pilots

Which is exactly the same "combat" Nigerian pilots have seen!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Hear that? Its the sound of your argument collapsing under the sheer weight of its stu.pidity!
Your stuupidity does not allow you to understand the military principle of combat qualifying hours of flight.

A pilot needs, say 120 hours flight time every new year in combat training, to become combat qualified.

SAAF pilot flies only 20 hours per year during which he drops one bomb on empty sand space and claims he has become combat qualified.

How does dropping a bomb replace the shortage of 100 hours missing on his flying clock time ?

You don't understand simple logic, no wonder South African brains now need repair in Russia grin grin

I think I should start using sahara as a credible nigerian site since we are now using sites like maverick as credible sources.
False Sahara reporters stories were proved wrong by other reports from the battle field.

Nope 3 are trainers
https://beegeagle./2010/07/26/nigerian-air-force-receive-last-batch-of-chinese-f7-ni-jets/

Now citatiosn for:
1. Nigeria having enough combat capable pilots
2. Trainer being combat capable
3. SAAF pilots not being qualified

As usual, you make allot of statements but provide no evidence. If you continue to do so, I shall take it as a sign of your defeat and leave. I have better things to do with my time than talk to children.
Go read list of crashes, 2 trainers crashed and 2 combat variant. Means we have 10 combat variants and 1 trainer today = 11 jets.

Then what about crashes? 2 Gripen jets in same airforce crashed in one month without including while trying to land like the F-7.

1. No report ever says NAF has pilot shortage for F-7, you created the lies, and you never posted a source.
2. Is your own Gripen trainer not combat capable?
3. SAAF pilots not qualified has been proved and sang like a song so much that it became top 10 hit on music charts

The mission of SANDF in CAR was straight forward and that was to provide training to CAR troops as per requested by Bozize when he visited SA in 2007 during which MoU was signed.

In return SANDF had to send personnel for security purposes.

CAR had peacekeepers whose duty was to protect the locals and that was French troops who ran away when rebels grabbed the town, only SA troops stood their grounds.
SANDF troops stood their grounds trembling inside French army base at the airport tonguetongue

New MoU signed just 3 months before the Seleka atacked, which I posted source today, expanded SANDF mandate to include protection of property and human lives.....but your elite paratroops + cowradly special forces ALL abandoned the people of C.A.R in their hour of need.

Go take lessons from Nigerian army, navy and air force 10 year long war of saving human lives in Liberia and Sierra Leone, our army battalions are still in those countries today 2015, we have stayed there for 25 years. !

South African military will NEVER achieve that, your courage always fails in your chicken heart in your chicken republic.

Nope, we have only one trainer, and it is combat capable. Total is 11 F-7, with combat capable pilots having surplus combat flying hours.

Qualified from Gripen training course to take off and land. That does not make you combat qualified, you need standard combat training hours EVERY YEAR on the Gripen to become combat capable.

Where does it speak of nine?

Gripens are based in 2 squadron and hawks at 85 combat FS. How does it become 10 (ten) and another four. The situation in SAAF is not about money, it is about transformation particularly affirmative action. The ANC wants to offload high number of white pilots to correlate with that of black pilots and be representative of the population of SA. The author of that article is lost, since the pilots who resigned were instructors who happened to be white. Currently SAAF is building talent from the ground through transformation.
Russia and Cuba have no Gripen jets or Gripen simulators so they CANNOT train a Gripen pilot to fly a Gripen.

This means SAAF Gripen pilots are so incompetent they have been sent back to learn the general basics of flying in Cuba and Russia.

Tiny Cuban island produces military men smarter brained than you South Africans cheesy

What Russia and Cuba are giving SAAF is basic flying course on Russian aircraft. It doesn't qualify anybody to fly Gripen.

You should know that if you are truly an air force officer.....or are you a fake as we suspect?

The word reconnaissance has now become so much of a fancy word to be misused by many militaries across the world. Reconnaissance as we come to know it is not the task that is performed by ordinary military forces other than those who have vigorously trained to do it. It is no wonder that you understand that word on the spectrum of civilian milieu because you are a civilian and hardly know anything military. You read about military and whatever you have written ever since the beginning of this forum was largely based on your theory. I have never head you writing anything out of experience.

Reconnaissance and surveillance is specialised task which happens at front lines. Special forces carry out such duties. Like it or not.

lionel4power:
the financially strapped SA Air Force (SAAF) is further extending its foreign training commitments with Russia being the latest addition.
A report has it that about 10 pilots from 2 Squadron at AFB Makhado have been selected for further training in Russia. This is a direct outflow of a co-operation agreement signed between the defence ministers of the two countries, Afrikaans weekly Rapport said.

Four pilots are already undergoing training in Cuba and according to SA National Defence Force Chief General Solly Shoke, agreements have also been entered into with the United States and the United Kingdom on various aspects of military training.

At the same time the paper reports the SAAF has experienced more resignations from the ranks of its jet pilots.

Four of only the handful of jet fighter pilots in the SAAF have resigned leaving the force with three times as many Gripens as qualified pilots for them,” the paper said.

26 ÷ 3 = 9

Making matters worse is that two test pilots based at AFB Overberg, home of the Test Flight and Development Centre (TFDC), have not had their contracts renewed.

Against this background it is not surprising the original number of 18 pilots supposed to go to Russia was cut. Another reason for sending fewer jet pilots is cost. South Africa had to pay for travel and living expenses while Russia is carrying the cost of training.

The majority of those going to Russia are qualified pilots but are short of flying hours to build their experience base. The lack of flying hours, also a result of a tight budget, has contributed in no small measure to this.

Pilots at AFB Makhado told the paper their colleagues who resigned had done so because they couldn’t fly. They have apparently joined airlines or companies operating in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and China.

It appears the group bound for Russia are not going to have an easy time of it. A SAAF officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Russians had made it clear no time would be wasted on pilots who cannot fly properly.

By using the word recconaissance you have already compromised your argument because there is only one division in the armed forces trained to carry out recce duties and that's special forces.
You just proved how useless South African military academy is ! You have BSc Military science from a useless country like South Africa.

Reconaissance is done by an entire army using various regiments like regular infantry, armour, and regular recce regiments.

Show me a source that defines reconnaissance as an operation performed only by special forces.

You mean an army armoured corps brigade in a tank battle will not do reconnaissance?

Army mechanized regular infantry IFVs like BTR-4, Patria, Bradley, BMP-3, etc all have reconnaisance versions, so are those IFV for special forces ?

Scorpion tank is a recconnaisance tank belonging to armoured regiments. Do special forces use tanks for reconnaissance?
