THAT IS CLEARLY 2014 SOURCE. SA MERCENARIES TOOK OVER FROM 2015 AND STARTED BRINGING IN CHANGES. MR BARLOW FURTHER CLAIMED THAT THE NIGERIA COIN BRIGADE WAS TRAINED AND PROGRAMMED TO FAIL IN EVERY ASPECT
2014 because that was the time the Nigerian special forces started the 4 months COIN advanced level training under Russian army.

Source says the training ended December 2014 so that the Nigerian brigade will come back from Russia to lead final offensive January 2015.

Barlow did NEVER mentioned Nigerian COIN brigade anywhere in his comments, show us where he mentioned the Russian trained brigade.

He was referring to African armies in general who train with Americans and Europeans.

Russia has excellent COIN war experience with Islamists in Afghanistan fighting Mujahedeen for many years....but your South African military past and present, SADF or SANDF, Col Barlow or Colonel Whatever, has ZERO experience in COIN war against Islamists.....Russian army is better than you and your PMC....so Nigeria trained 120 men with Eben and his 5 man Southie teams, but the same Nigeria sent thousands of special forces to Russia for training....we know your limited level and we gave you only 2% of our training contract shocked shocked

That defenceweb article has exposed you all as liars !

Liar

Nigerian Army was fighting in Sambisa Forest in 2013 - long before you lost all your towns!!

http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/134770-nigerian-military-to-continue-sambisa-forest-operation-after-killing-over-20-boko-haram-suspects-in-raid.html

Fact is you know nothing about bush warfare and that is why they were able to push you out of the bush and start taking towns!!
You lost the argument and you cannot dig a way out of the hole you plunged into !

Your above source is 2013....LOL....Boko Haram started before then in 2009 in Maiduguri city NOT a bush or Sambisa forest !!!!

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/jul/27/boko-haram-nigeria-attacks

It was urban warfare from 2009, the Bokos ran into the forest after Nigerian military defeated them 2009 to 2013 and Nigerain SF went into the Sambisa forest to kill Shekau I in 2013.....there was no South African PMC Eben Barlow here in 2013.

http://www.dw.com/en/nigerian-military-claims-to-have-killed-boko-haram-leader-shekau/a-17030712

The bush tactics of Eben Barlow was of very very little benefit to the final offensive and final victory, the war was an urban city war 98 %

50 towns and 1 forest = Urban city warfare 98 %

Nigerian COIN brigade trained by Russia did the job 90%.....yet the Russians are not taking glory like you Southies that did less than 1%....You even want to ignore the contribution of Chad, Niger and Cameroon....or Eben Barlow was leading the whole four nations armies and air forces as field marshall ?

Truth Revealed By South African Defenceweb :

Nigerian army Special battalions got ADVANCED COIN training under Russian Army for 4 months and returned to North East Nigeria to lead in the battles that finally defeated Boko Haram -

.[/size]

Contrary to lies told by many world news reports and publications, the final assault on Boko Haram that defeated the terrorists was led by the Nigerian army special COIN Brigade trained quickly by Russian army from August 2014 to January 2015.

The Russian army has many years of war experience against Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan called Mujahedeens and transferred their skills to several battalions of the Nigerian army's special forces COIN Brigade....

"The Nigerian security services have sent 1 200 personnel to Russia where they are receiving advanced counter-insurgency training from Russian special forces and will return to form the nucleus of a special counter-insurgency force which will be deployed to fight Boko Haram militants.

Each batch received Russian-style specialised counter-insurgency warfare training for four months and on return will form the core of a new special forces brigade which is being created to take the lead in the army's faltering offensive amid massive territorial gains in the northern states of Borno and Adamawa by the Islamist Boko Haram group. Whichever it is,this is a result of patriotic dedication,educational improvement and technological advancement of AFIT.Furthermore,this goes to show that Nigeria has the technology to reverse-engineer complex electronic armaments like light aircrafts and drones: I guess this explains why the NAF is still clinging to our jaguar fleet{many analysts have recommended a complete overhaul in India}
This is a very good development for our airforce.kudos to AFIT.

They are in the towns only because you failed to stop them in the bush

this is because Nigeria has no capcity for bush warfare

And their PMC bush craft was essential - as you could only win once they arrived
PMC bush craft was useless in urban warfare, Boko caliphates were in towns not in the bush, or you ever seen an insurgent build caliphate in a bush? Caliphate is a city of people not a jungle of animals you fool grin grin

Nigeria only won the war when we decided to launch the much awaited final offensive, we won when we changed strategy from defensive to offensive.

5 PMC men do not change the cause of a hi-tech war where missile armed drones and ISTAR aircrat are dominating, Eben Barlow has said it was a totally Nigerian combat and victory.

Bush warfare? Nigeria fought 10 years in jungles of Liberia and Sierra Leone against bush rebels and same in Nigeria delta jungle against a well armed insurgent force . Nigeria has constant bush-jungle war operations for 25 years non stop.

Zaha:

The Nigerian Air force has unveiled unmanned bomb detector and a Light Surveillance Aircraft developed by the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, north-west Nigeria.

The development is part of the force’s contribution to the fight against insurgency in the troubled north-eastern region.
Commandant of the AFIT, Air Vice Marshal Toni Adokwe, introduced the device at a gathering ahead of the institute’s 44th Convocation Ceremony coming up on Friday.
The Commandant demonstrated how the device could dictate and pick up Impoverished Explosive Device to safer locations for disposal.
The device has a frequency jammer to distort GSM signals and also has a time run of four hours.
He said it was produced by students of the Armament Engineering Department in 2012 and was later modified to a higher level called Unmanned Ground Vehicle type two.
Adokwe affirmed that with effective innovative approach to technology, Nigeria would be able to tackle the current security challenge in the North-east.
He emphasised that the growing wave of bombings by the Boko Haram sect required more researches and innovations of modern equipment and technologies to tackle the challenge.
The Commandant further explained that the institute had equally commenced research into the development of a Light Surveillance Aircraft that would be in conformity with the climatic temperature of Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
Since inception, the AFIT has graduated about 5,000 persons, including personnel of the Nigerian Army, Air force, Navy and civilians, as well as foreign students from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Benin, Zimbabwe, Niger, Ghana and Sierra Leone.
It is structured into three schools which are the School of Air Engineering, School of Ground Engineering and Management Studies, as well as the School of Postgraduate Studies, which coordinates the various postgraduate programmes in the other schools.

CLAIMS OF BOKO-HARAM HOLDING TERRITORY A RUSE BY POLITICIANS TO ATTRACT FUNDING

“Military sources who spoke to THISDAY yesterday dismissed the claims that were made during the National Economic Council meeting held in Abuja on Thursday as “alarmist and a political gimmick for patronage”.

“They noted that politicians were trying to mislead members of the public by falsely claiming that five LGAs are under the control of the terrorists.”

“One of the senior officers clarified that the prevailing situation on ground, saying, “in some towns, Boko Haram have some presence and launch guerrilla attacks from time to time, which is different from holding a town.”

He added: “I don’t know where they get such LGAs from. I mean they should have named the local governments and let us verify, if they are sure of their claims. That Boko Haram makes a hit and run attacks in one or two towns does not in any way translate to holding any ground.

Sbura:
First things first, I would like to congratulate the Nigerian Armed Forces for their partial success in combating Boko Haram, however that is subject to the validity of Mr Muazu's statement. To what extent, when evaluated, are the allegations by Mr Muazu true? Well, I will assist you in answering that question. I submit this with full confidence that the statement by Mr Muazu is not true.

What Mr Muazu stated at the Nigerian Army Inter Brigade Competition is propaganda driven. The setting of where he delivered his speech is truly indicative of the nature of why he stated what he stated. It was a ceremony, and it is common cause that in ceremonies and what could be termed as 'joyful events', emphasis will only be attached to the good aspects of a cause. In this instance, much emphasis was placed on the successes of the Nigerian Armed Forces' fight against Boko Haram. The consequences of such emphasis, not only down plays the nature and reality of the war, but creates the impression that Boko Haram has been defeated. The intended effect sought to be achieved was to encourage, for purposes of morality, the armed forces and to keep the public away from the notion that they are still prone to Boko Haram attacks.

In addition to propaganda, the statement of Mr Muazu, in part and whole contradicts the idea he portrays. The idea portrayed being that Boko Haram has diminishing capabilities. In my understanding army officials ought to know that war is unpredictable, Mr Muazu makes it a certainty that Boko Haram "can no longer engage Nigerian" and in fuelling the confusion further he states that Boko Haram altered its tactics into hitting soft targets. Now, one asks, what was Mr Muazu referring to as "soft targets"? Is it the civilians or Soldiers? If it is the civilians, then the image he portrays that the powers of Boko Haram in terms of civilian attacks have decreased is false, reason being that Boko Haram is still consistent in their mission and that further implies that the Nigerian Armed Forces are failing in meeting the objective of protecting the public. If it is soldiers, then the image created that Boko Haram can no longer engage soldiers is false.

I would also like to put to the table, although it might seem irrelevant for now, the truthfulness of Nigerian Armed Forces officials. From the insurgency's inception, the Nigerian Army has been down playing the impact of Boko Haram and misleading the public in certain aspects of the war. Now, one asks whether is this also part of the tactics of the Nigerian armed forces to down play the impact of Boko Haram? There are many answers that come to play. However, this is strongly relevant and would be a significant contribution of my submission but I will not delve deep into it.

In conclusion, the statement of Mr Muaza is invalid as it is propaganda driven and embedded with contradictions. The notion that the Nigerian Armed Forces are winning the war against Boko Haram might be true and it can also be false, whatever the case may be Mr Muazu's statement(in my view) cannot be used as evidence to support the idea that the Nigerian Armed Forces are winning the war against Boko Haram.
Major General Muazu is a world class army chief inside the battlefield, you are a mere civilian with a laptop in your bedroom 7,000 km away from Boko Haram center of activity, using my common sense, I will take NA Maj. Gen Muazu's words as final authourity, and your own comment becomes a comedy strip.

FOR ALL THE DEAF SOUTHIES

The Boko Haram insurgents can no longer confront Nigerian
soldiers in a battle in any part of the country, a senior army
official has said.

Nasir Muazu, a Major General, stated this in Akure on
Saturday at the closing ceremony of the Nigeria Army Inter
Brigade Competition.
“I just came back from the North East and I can comfortably
tell you that Boko Haram cannot and I repeat cannot take
any offensive attack against Nigerian Forces, that one is for
sure,” the General Officer Commanding 2 Mechanized
Division of the Nigerian Army said.
Mr. Muazu said the insurgents, who last year displaced
soldiers from several military formations in the North East
as they seized several territory, had changed tactics to
aiming at soft targets.
“What the Boko Haram insurgents are now doing is hitting
sub-targets which indicates that their days are numbered,”
he said.
He assured that the country’s armed forces are capable of
bringing an end to the Boko Haram insurgency and that the
military had reviewed and renewed its strategy to curb the
activities of the terrorists.
Although, the Army General agreed that part of the major
challenges confronting the country is the coordinated
activities of the Boko Haram, he promised it would soon be
brought to an end.
Mr. Muazu also said that all military commands had been
placed on red alert in order to fight issues bordering on
insecurity.
“We are looking forward to an Army that is responsive to the
society, that would respond to the demand and needs of our
people,” he said.
“I want to remind all Nigerians that this preparation of
explosives by the insurgents is not carried out in the open, it
is carried out in houses and hidden places. So every
Nigerian must key into how we can win the battle against
insurgency in the North East. I think with that support, we
are going to make it.”
He assured that the Nigerian Army would continue to work
for the sustenance of peace and not deviate from its
professional roles of defending the territorial integrity of
Nigeria.

There is no photo of any hundreds of parents, anytime government asks for the Chibok parents to show face, we see less than 30 parents. Shekau video also shows the same group of girls less than 70 in number, repeated same one video again and again.

Parents were asked by SSS and DHQ to identity their daughters in the videos, all parents denied knowing any of the girls in Shekau's Chibok video.

276 girls vanished into thin air in one day ?

Your NAF disputes everything even when one of their own was beheaded they disputed as always. It is not a wonder they will deny the existence of SA mercenary pilots. We are used to their monkey tricks.
NAF disputes claims that have no proof. That pilot video was a dubbed voice over, why?

News media tell a lot of lies about Boko Haram war, e.g BBC said 2,000 people were killed by Bokos in Baga town, later they said sorry, the information was copied from an unknown person on Facebook...lies lies propaganda everywhere.

Show us photos of SA pilots flying Mi-35 Hind E, or stop ranting
