We have way way better C4I2R capability than Algeria: C2, Link ZA , IMPI tracker

We also have a more modern army, the only thing Algeria has over us is their T90.

Our Air force as a whole is also more modern, inc Air defence/ Radar coverage.

Our Navy is more modern than Algeria's, that will change however when they receive their new Valours and tigr corvettes later this year, then again we can compare the 2 when we receive our Frigate sized OPVs ,60m IPVs and Hydrographic vessel in 2018.

And lastly the Nigerian army cant even handle BH, then you want to take on 3000 SANDF soldier in support with Olifant mk2/1Bs, Rooikat, Ratel ZT3, G6 ect ect hahahah funny guy!!
Don't waste your time, Algeria is far more powerful than South Africa, their defence budget is biggest in Africa and they focus on the best weapons from all over the world.

Algeria has 44 units of brand new Su-30 MKA Flanker jets with BVR missiles and 6 units of air to air refueling tanker aircraft, they are already evaluating an AWACS aircraft, Algeria is far beyond South Africa, they belong to the big league.

And as I said

Domestic AP duties are not the SANDF's responsibility
Stopping foreign armed invasion of your homeland is SANDF's constitutional role, that's why they were deployed there and your air force crashed during the operations to stop armed Rhino thieves that come from other countries....invaders robbing your homeland

Russian ministry of defence is run by civilians, are civilians now an army?

Surveillance is a synonym for spy

Your semantic argument fails
Civilian drones in farms and companies in mining industry do survellance and are called surveillance drones, so civilians too are using spy equipment? grin grin

Your satellite is called surveillance by SIPRI....not spy....ya got an observation toy from Russia.

Morocco's satellite is classified by SIPRI as Recce....yea, the only spy satellite in Africa.

Rhinos were kept in Botswana for a purpose because there was information that poachers work hand in hand with national park workers.

Anti Rhino poaching is not a COIN mission.
Foreigners invading South African homeland with guns to kill your military and paramilitary during illegal activities of robbing your country of natural resources, becomes a COIN war.

Rhinos sent by Zuma to Botswana after kneeling down and begging for safety is athe final proof of accepting defeat in the hands of Rhino poachers.

Your SANDF 21 battalion and Special forces have faced their 2013-2015 COIN threat at home and failed, your bush war mastery is ZERO !

1. Why does South Africa need torpedo's when we have 0 submarine threats?
2. I never said you can't, but it doesn't help you wait till the last minute to buy new equipment, you guys are a perfect example. And BTW buying weapons as you say and manufacturing new weapons as I said are to different things, we don't have to buy any missiles when a war breaks out, in fact there is very little we have to buy when war breaks out because we have buy far the most sustainable Defence force in Africa.
1. Why does Nigeria need submarine or ASW helos if we have 0 sub-surface threat?

2.When war breaks out, your navy will fight with 4 ships sharing 13 Exocet missiles for 32 Exocet launchers? You don't manufacture anti-ship missiles or torpedos. You do not manufacture army tanks, you do not manufacture spare parts for engines and body frames of jets, helicopters, transport aircraft, warships, submarines, you will be massively importing spare parts and missiles from Europe is war breaks out....or else your military machinery will grind to a halt in one month

See how foolish your arguments are dude.

We have, our borders are now secure and cross border poaching is dropped to an all time low. Internal poaching is the responsibility of SAPS and not the SANDF
Nope, you accepted defeat and flew 500 Rhinos to safety in Botswana after begging them on your knees to cover your shame.

Your COIN 'mastery' of bush war does not work inside your own Kruger Park homeland bush grin grin

Afghanistan = foreign country

Borno = part of nigeria

NATO has done exceptionally well in Afghanistan.... they are pulling out, so what? Must NATO stay there for 1000 years?
NATO with the best weapons on earth has failed to defeat Taliban in 13 years. End of story.

US Marines are built to fight in foreign lands like Afghanistan, so they failed in their constitutional role they are 100% equipped and trained for.

Borno is Nigeria, just like Ireland is United Kingdom territory where the mighty British military failed to defeat IRA terrorists for 27 years

Russia treat their arms sales confidentially. No way would they have gone into details about their customer and what have they ordered, it was not part of the deal. The same spy satellite that SANDF procured is the same one used by Russian military.

None of Nigeria artillery can shoot up to 50kms. Nigeria is still using old fashioned Bofor artillery guns which can only shoot up to 32 kms. You don't have modern artillery.
@andrewza thinks otherwise, he felt safer to run 50 km away from Nigerian coastline so that all his four Valour frigates will not be sank by NA Bofors in one day.

Are you re.tarded?

When deployed to the valour class the Lynx lives inside of the hanger. Unless it is about to take-off or has just landed, it sits inside the hanger.

Good lord, what a fvcking slowpoke.
Your navy does NOT have helicopters constantly as you earlier claimed, until I proved you wrong. Liar, the Lynx is land based, missing on 99% of Valour frigate outings at sea. Nigerian navy has an armed air arm in storage, independent of NAF

How will we react to piracy? Are you serious? What a frigate cannot patrol for pirates? Submarines cannot clandestinly gather intelligence?

Simple Q&A:

1. Can the navy in question fight a conventional war?
RSA: Yes
NIG: No

2. Can the navy in question perform anti-piracy duties?
RSA: Yes
NIG: Yes

tell me, who has the better navy?
Piracy in full force requires both inshore, midshore, and offshore patrols.

Your frigates go offshore, cool....but you have NO stealth inshore and midshore patrol boats, pirates will use that loophole to operate along your 3,200 km super long coast line and escape your Valour frigates that are finding nothing deep offshore.

Also, you have no high speed ocean interceptor to respond to urgent distress call and stop a fleeing pirate in a speed boat, those pirates twin engine boats are faster than your valour frigtes....and hell, ya gat a 3,200 km difficult u-shaped coastline and 1.2 million square kilometers of EEZ to patrol with 4 ships? Your frigate engines will knock dead in a few months, and the open wide gaps in your 1.2 million sq km waters will be exploited by pirates dribbling you around like school children in a playground grin grin

You have ZERO idea of the huge size/numbers and variety type of vessel force needed to maintain maritime security, the money Nigeria invested in anti-piracy ops is in billions of dollars.

Yes Nigeria can fight conventional threat at sea by reactivating storaged war vessels and helicopters.

No navy is better between you and us. We focus on different current objectives.

You can do yourself a favour and not waste your time on me. There are plenty other people for you to quote if you want. It simply does not make sense to design and build your own jet during peace time. It would cost an extreme amount of money, tens of billions. Missiles and sub systems are strategic, and its best that they are developed in house.
Simple fact is that South Africa imports European made tanks, jets, warships, submarines. You are import dependent except for MRAP and a few other low powered stuff.

3000 South African soldiers wont last a day

But about the same number of BH fighters held an area the size of Denmark (Belgium?) for allmost a year

You cant fight rag-tag militia... and you think you can handle the SANDF?

Hahahahahahaha
Bokos live with and mix with civilians inside Nigerian cities, they are mostly Nigerians. They don't need to invade, they are already inside Nigeria. We cannot level them with artillery and rockets, else innocent civilians will die.

Does your South African army live among us in our towns? You need to invade from outside, by open sea, and Naija artillery will bury you at sea before you even reach our land.

SANDF cheif of staff has ZERO experience of real modern warfare involving tanks, artillery, and surveillance systems.

Nigerian army chief of staff has used guided missile drones in war.
