One topic I rarely see here is outperformance. We all know stock rise and fall, we win some and lose some.

It would be interesting to have participants in these here climes to analyse their portfolio history and see if and how long they have been able to beat the Nigerian market (NSE).

This is not to recommend passive investing ( I myself am an active investor). Just for the fun of analysis and see what strategy work better.

We no dey talk outperforming here Lol. That's too low a target.
Our language is in baggers
1, 2, 3 ... Baggers

About 2% only for round trip, if u check the chart well u see that the lows to highs are more than 10%. But then, even 8% for 3 months is not bad.

Alternatively, an investor may choose to position themselves at the bottom of the channel or below, in anticipation of a potential upward movement of over 60% in the future...

Why stress yourself when there more solid companies that will give you better overall results, doing just one trade in a year

Sterlnbank has consistently traded within a narrow range of 1.44 to 1.62 naira since 2021, offering a skilled trader/gigoist a 10% return on a three-month holding time on d average.

Although d latest financials values it at 2.7, I believe it is unlikely to reach that level unless it significantly increases its dividend.

However, I anticipate that it will continue to trade within the same range, providing a straightforward 10% return for the bold trader.

Oga so your broker no dey collect commission

You didn't read the part where the billionaire friends had to intervene before Otedola could back down?

Otedola was persuaded by the other friends in the likes of Aliko Dangote and others before he accepted to release the shares back to Tony at that said amount.....3.12.

The question is: Why did Tony had to wait till it gets that "ugly" before waking up?

AMCON has placed its holding for sale since 2022 with no one showing interest to buy until Otedola bought it, having seen a good opportunity and value in it.
I cannot for any reason blame Otedola. He's a business man who saw profitable biz and keyed into it.

Tony needs to be serious with his business; sit up and take care of it as well as take care of the shareholders as well.
While AMCON wanted to sell, he could have have negotiated it cheaper and buy, even @N1 self.

Someone still needs to teach him another sit-up lesson on UBA as well...... tongue
They all have where they are chopping the company dry. Declaring good profit or dividend is not their priority

You actually believe Tony would pay otedola N12 per share for transcorp?

That's a cheap price to pay to retain control. Na UBA go carry the burden

what if the negotiation was done @#12, but made official rate @#3.12....just thinking deeper.

That's exactly what would have happened. 3.12 is dam too cheap to buyout a hostile takeover bid

Tony did not pay N12 to Otedola! Those reports were false.
The amount negotiated per share is N3.12k.......reason the share price did marabout at circa 3.12 at some point and started falling......

Otedola sold his shares at N12 so I take it that is the true value of Tranacorp shares if not for Tony's wickedness.

Pricing you off is different from pricing Otedola off grin
Let's assume they wan to delist Transcorp today, do you think they will offer you N4? grin
