With this shareholding structure, should TRANSCORP be worth less than 50% of TRANSPOWER?

Or you meant should 50% of TRANSPOWER be worth more than TRANSCORP?😂

That EPS value can't be with the current 7.5 billion units listed and the results provided. The likely explanation would be that the shares outstanding was much less than 7.5b but to create liquidity with listing in view, they did a bonus issue.

Bottomline is: recalculate your EPS with the current shares outstanding as you would be making a mistake to think that the Transpower listed today has an EPS of #218.

You took it out of my mouth. It is customary practice of deceit

I've done some inquest-based analysis and estimates on this TRANSCORP PLC and TRANSCORP POWER brouhaha, and I believe I have an idea of what would likely play out.

When supersets become sunsets, it's only a matter of time before they become disjoint sets.
Nigeria is truly a funny place.
...indeed there was a country!

For those still sending me mails and messages, I already said that TRANSCORP PLC remains a hold despite what appears to be a play of some sought of financial engineering shenanigan.
It's important to understand the illustration I gave "on sipping from the juice" while it last.
Again, a lot would depend on ones investment personality and goals.

Going forward, I already said I'll prefer to search for reward having a traders mindset for TRANSCORP PLC and look out for value having an investors mindset for TRANSCORP POWER.

But then again, it is still NOT an investment advice.
Due diligence still applies as always.

I am done talking about TRANSCORP PLC/POWER.
Last I checked, there are nearly a 100 quoted companies on the NGX.

NSE hmmm. I remember when the biard of transcorp met and decided on this action. They promised to relay the outcome of their meeting to investors after the said meeting, but never did.
They allowed speculations drive up prices. As it stands today we no know where we dey as transcorp shareholders.
Nigerian companies, They just keep playing their shareholders.
Elumelu might just be doing the exact thing Otedola did at FO when he simply removed the power segment for himself and sold the rest with the shareholders.

Una dey play with Cowboys

What we experienced all these months is stock repricing due to devaluation not bull. NGX has been on decline mood since 2014 due to excessive devaluation. Imagine someone that invested in zenith bank stock in January, 2020 and he left his investment since then till now, the person must have incurred loss due to devaluation. Zenith bank closed at #21.15 on 28/01/2020 and our exchange rate was #305.9 to a dollar on that day. For the investor to recoup his capital value now at #1500 to a dollar, zenith bank should be trading between #80-#103.Our stock market was better during the time of Obasanjo, we had the biggest market capitalisation during his regime, then followed by Good luck. I think NGX might have the best capitalisation in this present government if they could bring down dollar to #800. I see zenith bank between 80-100 from now to January 2026 grin grin grin Below image is graphical representation of NGX capitalisation in terms of dollar.

NGX has eroded value yes
But that zenith will sell at N80, will they pay N8 dividend? This market is dividend-driven

Good morning my yard pipu. Where is everybody. Is it that bear has humbled us?

What are we expecting next week, Bear or Bull?. Let the TAs help out. There used to be someone who always talk ichimoku, where is the person abeg.

Attached from the banks showing a direction. Banking index clearly below the Ichimoku cloud on the daily.
Those who trade it will now use this cloud as the resistance.
ASI still showing RSI-price divergence on the daily so my guess is that bears will force it to align with the RSI (see second chart)

This is how a trend develops gradually; I expect the medium (weekly) and possibly the long-term (monthly) to follow suit (this is not data but my gut Lol)

Loads of uncertainties in the economy , you can begin to feel the desperation and helplessness . Does not look like naira has bottomed out yet , more pain is definitely coming

Exited the markets January . Am back in dollars with my gain awaiting opportunities in other sectors , principal deployed to real estate . I wish dividend people well

Yeah looks like real estate is relatively undervalued compared to naira depreciation

Interesting days ahead. Waiting for the outcome of the MPC meeting slated for this month..

February will be bearish.

If you don't have staying power or stocks that are expected to pay bumper dividends, it is advisable to book profit from stocks that have given you good returns in the past 6 months and buy back sometimes in May.

As a matter of fact most of my margin loans are targeted towards May, June and July

It was obvious from November

Since this policy is targeted at inflation and naira stability. If it achieves the target as short-term measure. And other policies compliments it in the long run and we have improved economy. Then how is it a minus to the stock market or bring bearish influence to the market

I have been trying to wrap my head around this policy and bear to the market. Pls I need opinions to understand the relationship of the market and this short-term policy measure on the economy

On long time bond is a different ball game if the yield becomes very high

The market is not reacting to any policies. The market is reacting to inflation and interest rates.

There is an obvious inverse relationship between rates and market performance
