I think that allegation is false like the other ones.

Assuming it's true, how many producers are in court with cases against African Magic? it doesn't matter who owns it or who collect a % from A.Magic,  if they are showing those movies without agreements/payments, then there would definitely be many suits against them. But am sure A.Magic knows better.

Every business like Nollywood experiences a lull at one time or the other and later peaks up, but Nollywood is definitely not dead.
In Nigeria they want government to do everything for them, including suing A.Magic.

A policeman stopped me just last night, and commented that, because I
was driving a Government car, I was one of the people ''wey dey chop Nigeria money'',
and that I should part with some of the money I'm ''chopping''.

The mindset that everyone is corrupt makes corruption, like, impossible to root out
of the national psyche, as it is now a societal norm.

The said cop didn't get a kobo from me, but I'm sure that he would have fleeced me
bald if my papers were not complete, or something like that.
You escaped because it is a government car, not because your papers were intact.

That is why tyrants with no milk of human kindness running in their veins have repeatedly ruled our country. They know that must nigerians think leadership=arrogance.
You just hit the nail on the head. Painful but the truth, if you are humble you are weak. If Jonathan had made bold to take over power and the president miraculously returned, they would have criticized him as well. for wanting to overthrow the president.

nitewalker:
African Mariage can survive in the west but with the same degree of failure as it is for western people.

Marriages in Africa has a higher survival rate due to a culture that maybe suppressive to women.

Whereas in the west marriages generally are susceptible to divorce perhaps and probably because more choices, and a

lesser burden of stigma are given to women.

If a husband understands this and affords his wife the matrimonial liberties encouraged in a western country. then the

survivability of the union climbs exponentially.

my two cents.
And the western marriages have been surviving? huh

I do not understand the controversy really  huh is being GAY a lot more SINFUL than being a MURDER or THIEF or SINNER? how come it is easier for Christians to Accept a Murder, Thief or SINNER in the House of God but not GAYS. are they not all SINNERS? (According to the Bible) so why the Hypocrisy! If you cannot accept GAYS in the House of God, then get rid of Corrupt Politicians, Ritualists, 419ners, Tithing-Thieves and Hookers from the House of God. Christians have a Phobia for GAYS but will dig all other kinds of Sinners even though God measures each equally, how pathetic  grin

It was known along that Econet couldn't survive with investment from state governments. Another avenue to siphon the states money. Have people ever wondered why Econet that started operations before MTN couldn't compete with MTN. It was because after the initial investment without breaking even the various governors were competing who will withdraw the most. That's why econet could not expand as rapidly as MTN and Glo came from behind and overtook econet. All the board members representing the various states were busy helping themselves to the loot.

And this is the reason why most Nigerian ladies want their hobby to spend everything even borrowing on their marriage/wedding and hope to survive on the gifts after the ceremony.
Romance › Re: Gifts And Relationships by agitator: 2:59pm On Dec 02, 2010
What is the meaning of Gift?
(noun)
1. Something that is bestowed voluntarily and without compensation.
2. The act, right, or power of giving.
3. A talent, endowment, aptitude, or inclination

If what is meant in this context is no. 1 then it is not a gift.

But Nigerians always have a different meaning for English words (naija style)

I think what the OP mean is "demand for compensation for services rendered."

Romance › Re: Why African Marriages Can't Survive In The West by agitator: 4:15pm On Dec 01, 2010
There are no laws protecting the man or giving him a right to hit his wife. Please kindly quote the law(s) where available. The difference is that in the African setting marriage is seen as respectable, while in the west female dependence is promoted. There is no pressure on women to marry. That is why single mothers a more common in US and Britain is also catching up.

No tradition to my knowledge encourages a man to hit a woman as a form of punishment.

hard Facts that is bitter to swallow

You don't pay for a wife in the West but in Africa you pay. After the man has paid you want 50/50 partnership as is obtainable in the west. it's impossible!!!
