Well if you think we will post pictures to clear your image and boost your ego before your friends abroad, then you are mistaken. Thank God it's internet based not by surface mail all these governors, their kids and praise singers would have blocked it.

@shotgun,
Well its good to hear the enlightenment part. PEACE

@bluetooth

Do you know how many oil spillages that occurred onshore and offshore in Nigeria without the Nigerian media reporting about it?

I have witnessed where oil spilled into a river used for fishing, bathing, washing, drinking, etc and people living the affected communities and host community had to make do with bush water for drinking and cooking as the river water could not be used. Note this was before pure (sachet) water became common, but in order to preserve the precious bush water for drinking, they still had to use it for bathing, washing, etc.

compare it to what happened recently in the gulf of Mexico, didn't the American press air the issue?

but same thing occurs more often in Nigeria (although of recent all spillages is are now attributed to vandalism, bunkering, militancy, etc) and it's not reported by the local press. So don't blame Nigerians who see this as an opportunity to do their own journalism.

I took a taxi home after work today, can you imagine the questions the taxi driver asked me?

1. I heard there are no taxis in Africa and people walk everyday, is it true?

2. Africans always eat with their hands, don't you think it's too dirty?

3. The hot weather makes africans so black,  is that why you are black too?

At first I couldn't immediately think of an answer to each of the questions and i felt embarrassed and angry but i could do nothing even till the moment i'm writing i still wonder how on earth will some people in this 21st century still have so many negative views and to some degree false information about Africa as a continent, many often say African is a country most especially here in China .Imagine that!  No one will ever help us to educate the world, we only can do this by showing to the world that our nation is still a nice place to live, not neglecting the negatives part. i still believe this nation will be a proud nation in years to come.
How many people can really take taxis home after work. or is it the taxis operating like buses plying defined routes. Taxis is a luxury and majority walk.

You should have educated him that most of our food is eaten with our fingers (there is where the phrase "finger licking experience" was derived). Even the Chinese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Japanese still eat their traditional foods with chop sticks. why haven't they changed to using cutlery. recently i watched on CCTV how even an American was eating a Chinese food with chop sticks.

Everybody knows somebody under the sun daily will definitely be black, even Europeans and Americans skins are affected after spending years working long hours outdoors in Africa. And the sun part, is it not true or you want to also deny for nature.

Sometimes you wonder if some so called educated people reason with the asses. but after a careful though you will realise they intentionally behave that way for personal reasons.

IMF/World Bank (western institutions told Nigeria to devalue their currency) the same west are now pressuring China to raise the value of their currency. This has been a running economic battle since 2009. Simple truth - China is a manufacturing and exporting country (electronics, machines, tools, clothing, etc) with their currency devalued, their goods are cheaper and most Chinese are better off using their products than purchasing imported expensive products.
Nigeria imports majority of their products, devaluing the currency spelled doom for the country.

Secondly when their home markets were saturated, the west started looking for other markets to sell their products. They came up with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in the propaganda to woo the African countries to become members they said it was to facilitate free and unhindered trading opportunities, because they wanted to sell their products, but China was refused membership for a long time.

The industrialization and progress you are seeing in Korea started after the war which the US supported people with like minds to be together (agreed) that is, the capitalist, people who were against communism.  Please can you tell me the people we need to be liberated from to enable us progress?

Secondly the prime minister of japan is not my friend, i was only pointing out that people who have been romancing with the US militarily are trying to get out while Nigeria is going in. It's called "bowing out honourably." Not like our sit tight politicians who can't deliver on their promises but want to remain in the seat forever.

If you don't have any sensible contribution, you are free to continue dreaming.  At least i know that is one freedom people don't need to fight for.

Nigeria, U.S Sign Pact On Regional Security
Wednesday, 15 September 2010 00:43 Abiodun Oluwarotimi, Washington D.C

Speaking during the event, Uhomoibhi said European colonisation of Africa and its antithesis of Pan Africanism provides the historical context for understanding the evolution of Nigeria's post-independence security and foreign policies in Africa.

He further stated that Nigeria was actively involved in efforts to secure and build peace in Africa, stressing that Nigeria's Afro-centric foreign and security policies have manifested in various ways including playing leading roles in the creation of Organisation of Africa Unity, OAU, New Partnership for Africa’s Development, NEPAD and the African Union, AU.

Using the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS as a regional security vehicle, he said Nigeria has provided strong leadership in regional peace efforts in West Africa, notably in Liberia and Sierra Leone from the late 80’s to early 2000.

He noted that Nigeria has also been actively involved in various peace and conflict resolution initiatives across Africa, including Chad, Darfur, Somalia, Congo and others.

He continued that the ideological and political impetus for Nigeria's regional security policy derived from fundamental commitments in the Nigeria’s constitution  which prescribes for the country’s five key objectives to pursue on the world stage.

"Despite the evolution of Nigeria's foreign objectives over the years, the basic organising principle, deriving from constitutional obligations, has centred on the notion of the four concentric circles of national interest" he added.

In his reaction, the United States Assistant Secretary on African Affairs, Mr. Johnie Carson, said the regional Security Bi-National pact was very critical since conflict mitigation is one of the top policies for Africa.

This could be a blessing in disguise. Look how rich Kuwait compared to the rest of the Arab World with their friendship with the U.S.

And bk.babe97y you should be bowing down to your new masters. Do the Arab princes bow down to America? No. . . That is because they have the oil!

Keep in mind I am also an American citizen. . .
So by your intelligent reasoning, America invested money in kuwait through their military to make them rich?

texazzpete:
Abeg make una leave matter. All these conspiracy theory loving scumbags that furiously condemn the Western world and exalt african despots like Mugabe and Ghadaffi.
I despise these people with a passion. You remain silent on the despoils in Congo, famine in Zimbabwe, genocide in Darfur and human rights abuses in Guinea, yet you fly into a paroxysm of rage and jump at any opportunity to denounce the west.

This is not in support of the West or anything like that, but if your underlying motive is rooted in love for Africa, then be consistent!

It is also amusing seeing people worry about a vague western re-colonization but fail to see anything weird in the increasing radicalization of Northern Nigeria. How many topics did @chyz open when  Al Qaeda started mentioning Nigeria in his infrequent tirades?
Some people are not following trends in the world.

1. US subtly occupied S.Korea after putting in them fear of the north an offered to protect them against the north.  Though much of the fear was founded because the north already adopted communism which many people were against.  Most S.Koreans are not happy being separated from their kith and kin in the north.

2. recently the prime minister of japan resigned because in his electioneering campaign he promised to remove the US. after winning he couldn't do it and he resigned after being on the seat for less than a year. admitting he couldn't deliver on his promises.

3. Long before the Iraqi's occupation of Kuwait their has been threats (same as what is happening between china and taiwan) and the Kuwaitis knowing fully well they cant withstand the Iraqi military decided to romance with the Americans to keep the Iraqis at bay.

4. Also recently in order to finally clip the wings of the Russians the Americans wanted to set up base in Georgia or any of the former Soviet republics.  The Russians (dem no dull at all) used the little misunderstanding to show they are still ready.

Nigeria that claims to be the giant of Africa, now needs the US  huh
Who is a threat to Nigeria that we need the might of the US to keep at bay?
After all the peace keeping operations and big brother claims, so we now need the US military to survive?
What is "notion of four concentric circles? Useless big grammar  angry

Well you have to be honest to your people and when you tell your people everything is done for their good, then you can also use propaganda against the westerners among your people.

But when you give the westerners the opportunity to point out the negatives which your people are experiencing and use against you then you have nobody to blame. sad

Why are you interested in your village? In civilized societies you are more concerned with who is in power where you are resident. Most people more or less are permanently resident in other towns, only going home for holidays. Let those who are there (village) take care of it.

Even if there is no other candidate i won't vote for him.  The only time he can't contest is if he has been indicted in a court of law.  Pinochet was not convicted with a report compiled by one body set up, but with evidence the law enforcement agents gathered.  What are the law enforcements officers and state prosecutors job?  You don't need a report to be published before prosecuting anybody.
