This is how goal.com describes it.
47'Goal-Kelechi Promise Iheanacho THAT'S A STUNNING HIT! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Iheanacho pounces on a poor defensive header from Dier and then fends off a challenge from Wanyama, before guiding a laser beam into the top corner from 25 yards! He smashed that into the back of the net on a rope! Lloris couldn't get anywehre near it! |

Farzat: Everybody talking about Musa and nobody even mention Sylvester Igboun who also scored and assisted a goal in d same league today. This guy is really a quality player that shud be in SE first eleven. Better than any winger we have except Victor Moses. I wish someone in NFF should put away sentiments and watch this guy closely. sylvester what? |

Three years ago, my dream was to see Garba Manu deputise(serve as an assistant to) for any foreign coach the federation might decide to employ. Leaving our age grade teams to Ugbade and Amuneke while Samson Siasia continues with the Olympic team.
But lo and behold my dream hit a dead end the day Salisu Yusuf was made the Coach of the SEs. I couldn't farthom what resonated that decision.
It irks me so much when I see huge tasks like this committed to incapable hands... Today we have a certain Paul Aigbogun handling our u-20 team a team very close to the national team. A team expected to feed and supply us(SEs) future quality talents and professionals, is now filled with overage men who have relatively passed their peaks- this is a very serious matter.
I hope we don't experience another years of drought in the national team. |

Truidstar: Not just football, the whole coaching setup in Nigerian sports needs a shake up. Olympic games in 1992. Nigeria vs USA in boxing. The American boxer outclassed his Nigerian opponent in the first round. This was how the 2 coaches reacted:
American coach:"keep your jabs low, you're hurting him, you're hurting him, he opens up...boom, we got this"
Nigerian Coach: Kiloshele? Kiloshele? Kiloshele? Kiloshele? Kiloshele?Kiloshele? aswear you've just made my day with this post. Can't stop laughing. |

Having gone through so many pages of comments, I have come to realize that there are three categories of SE's supporters 1. The Optimists 2. The Realists 3. The Pessimists. All these three groups are equally important and there contra-views and opinions should be welcomed as we all can never be on the same wavelength.
With each passing days, hours, minutes, seconds (thanks to TheSuperNerd for his countdown timer) we edge closer to the blast of the whistle for the first game of Russia 2018 World Cup.
All qualified nations are working tooth and nail to ensure a better outing of their respective teams and this does not exclude our own dear nation- Nigeria.
As we all awaits the squad list to be released in few days time, I'll implore all Super Eagles supporters to support the coach's decision on who ever makes the list.
On the final note, SE's performance in this tournament hinges on these things * Sound Preparation on the part of the team and the football federation * Right Team Selection and Tactics * Players fitness(most especially Balogun, Ndidi, Mikel and Moses) these four fitness level will be very paramount to the success of the team. * Supporters attitude.
With all logistics put in place, I can assure you that THIS Super Eagles will perform beyond our expectations. I'm not scared of any team. It's 11 against 11. Gone were the days individual players ALWAYS make the difference. Today, with right tactics and strategy no team is unbeatable. I say bring on Croatia, bring on Iceland and Argentina they will all be food to the king of the AIR-THE SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA
#Soar Eagles God bless the federal republic of Nigeria |

bengine: Ighalo or Ideye don't have the defensive discipline to play in a 4-3-3..one of them would have to track back to help defensively..you can only play one of them as strikers..both can't work..both are pure strikers..nacho with one of them works because he is not a pure striker. And u can't even play nacho in a 433 with Ighalo leading the line.. @the first bold, Ideye has once played the wide man in a 4-3-3 for the SEs and he excelled in that role. He brought out the best in Emenike during AFCON'13. the second bold is assumptive. We can never write them off just like that. The only problem is that time is against us and there is no longer room for experimentation(as I've stated in my earlier post). All that is needed to be done is to find a quick fix to the inability of our point men to score and how do we do that? Get a potent striker to provide more options for the coach. |

goldfish80: With what we have on our hands currently, we need more than just a goal scorer. A guy like Kelechi can hang around the penalty area and get goals, so we have our poacher already. What I think this team lacks currently is a proper connector between the midfield and attack. This is the kind of job an Ideye or even an Aaron Samuel could bring to the table. Aaron is big and very strong on the ball, he could be an asset, moreso Ideye, if he can get his head in the game .
It takes years to train a striker. There's no way we can find a potent and clinical striker like you put it just weeks to the world cup. Nice suggestion! Ideye is a good guy. I so much admire his style of play-he creates room/space for his mates(in most cases a SS) to thrive. He has good positional ability and knows how to draw out defenders. But his lack of goal instinct is his undoing. Bringing Ideye back will only force/take rohr back to the match against Zambia @ Ndola where Ideye led our attach line with Nacho playing behind him. This will definitely see Mikel play from deep as a CM which I don't see Rohr doing. The other options are retaining Mikel in the AMF role and playing Ideye as a lone striker which is not better off having Ighalo as the lone striker. The best option for him(brown) to me is playing in a 3-man front line of V. Moses-Ighalo-Ideye in 4-3-3 (^) which will see Ighalo and Ideye swap positions easily {just like we had him with Emenike} with J. Obi/Ogu-Mikel-Ndidi as our 3 men in midfield. But the question is, do we have the time to try it out before the tournaments proper. |

goldfish80: I dont think we lack 3rd and 4th choice players. We need players who can add something straight to the first team. I suggested Ideye because he's no stranger to this team. The excuse of blending in won't be a problem.
Recall, I blew the whistle on the apparent lack of prolific goalscorers in this team but I was waved aside for being an alarmist. Jungle don dey mature, the scales are falling.
By the way, Aaron Samuel seems to be doing well of late. I will rather take him to the front lines than Umar. I'm sorry if you're offended Ideye? Are you recapping what you've said before or you are making a new suggestion? If the latter is the case, I disagree with you. We don't just need another striker-we need a potent and clinical one and Ideye does not fit the description. On Samuel, he alongside Aluko didn't receive fair treatments by previous gaffers and their inability to feature consistently in the GWG has reduce their stock and nothing has shown they're in Rohr's plan-not even a rumour from the media... |

tbaba1234: INTERVIEW TYRONNE EBUEHI: DREAMS OF EUROPEAN FOOTBALL AND THE WORLD CUP
Few players could count on as much attention in January as Tyronne Ebuehi. Would he or could not leave at ADO Den Haag? Despite great interest from Benfica, the right back still remained in The Hague. He is assured of playing time there. And that is important to him in view of the World Cup.
It can go fast. Those words are absolutely applicable to Ebuehi's career at the moment (22). A year and a half ago, the Haarlemmer finally managed to play definitively in the ADO Den Haag team. A few months later his good play was noticed in the country of his father, Nigeria. After having been in the selection of the 'Super Eagles' for the first time in March 2017, Ebuehi debuted on June 1 in a friendly match against Togo. In November, the right back played his second international match against the Argentine powerhouse, in which he left an excellent impression. Nigeria even won 4-2. The stormy development of Ebuehi seemed to be rewarded in January with a transfer to Benfica, which eventually ended.
Development
Ebuehi is not the type to go to float after all those beautiful performances. But he can not deny that he has had a good time."A year ago I did not dare to think that I would get the attention of such a big club and play in the national team, it could indeed go fast in football, I see it as a result of daily working hard to get better, that's already paying off, but I'm not there yet, I have to keep developing myself, I have not finished at ADO Den Haag yet. playing the viewer for the World Cup.

fabyom: we don't change the winning team. Our boyz has done us proud. No need to press the panic button. They will rise up to the occasion. 2014 we were not that good yet we gave Argentina a huge scare with mediocre players like Babatunde, etc. Also France had to rely on an enyeama mistake to score us remember we had a good goal disallowed. Our first 11 we match any team in the world. a message of hope in time of trials is like a balm to a fainting heart... This is timely. |
