Sir do you mean Odion Ighalo?only injury would denied the guy, nothing else even Moses Simeon though Etebo should buckle up and he deserves to be in group B,John Ogu would make it.

Pls is Akpoguma and Uduokhai ready but Akpoguma i watched is not better than Omeruo unless German connection comes in
Sir, the above named players are good and have been integral part of the team. But to better understand my opinion I'll need you to see the competition these guys will/might be facing before making it. Provided all things been equal. Other players hits top form and given call ups before the final list.

Odion-Striker (9)
Iheanacho
Anthony
Kayode
Ideye
Dessers
Success
Osimhen
Martins(I am not ruling him out yet-they play in thesame league)
Note: of these players 3 will be selected to lead the line.

Moses Simon-Winger
Iwobi
V. Moses
Musa
Success
Onyekuru
Bazee
*here 4 maybe selected to join the other 3 CFs. I see Rohr listing 7 men as his attackers.

Ogu & Etebo-Midfielders
Mikel
Ndidi
Onazi
Etebo
Agu
Joel Obi

I see Rohr picking 5 here.

Sir, You see the competition. None of those players has a guarantee slot yet.

Barring any unforeseen circumstance, the Group A players are definitely going to Russia:

Group A
1. Victor Moses
2. Obi Mikel
3. Wilfred Ndidi
4. Kelechi Iheanacho (will definitely make the team. Aside from being one of our best strikers, he's also great for team unity)
5. Alex Iwobi
6. Eddy Onazi
7. Leon Balogun
8. Troost Ekong
9. *Moses Simon*
10. Chidozie Awaziem
11. Shehu Abdullahi
12. *Odion Ighalo*
13. *John Ogu*
14. *Oghenekaro Etebo* (likely to make it because he's a utility player)

Group B - Very likely to make the list - 90% chance
1. Brian Idowu
2. Tyronne Ebuehi
3. Ahmed Musa
5. Kenneth Omeruo
6. Francis Uzoho
7. Mikel Agu
8. Ola Aina
9. Elderson Echiejile (his experience might help him make team, if Aina fails to excel)
10. Joel Obi (most likely to make team if fully fit)
11. Ikechukwu Ezenwa

Group C - still on the outside looking in - less than 50% chance:
1. Anthony Nwakaeme
2. Olarenwaju Kayode
3. Henry Onyekuru
4. Sarenren Bazee
5. Isaac Success (supposed to be in group B but his attitude might cost him)
6. Dele Alampasu
7. Ajiboye (the new CHAN guy. Having seen him play though but I wanna go by all the commentaries here and elsewhere)
Great compilation!

But I want you to note the asterisk* still have much to prove and they can easily be unsettled by any in Group B, C or D(the ones you've failed to list. The Uduohkai, Akpoguma etc...)

Good point. Except for certain positions where we still lack quality (goalkeeper in particular), I don't see Rohr making any drastic changes to the current squad. In fact, it would take a clear outstanding performance for any player, currently on the outside, to displace a member of the current team.

Let me put it this way: 85-90 percent of the team is already set, so we're only talking about less than 15% (3 or 4 new additions max).

O pari
i'll like to see your list of the 85-90%

If Osimhen Ideye, Success, and Musa start firing on all cylinders, Rohr will have a major selection headache.
hmmm.... And one Sammy Ameobi de somewhere de dream of gatecrashing into the World cup team. I laugh.

Here too, many people want Rohr to give a look in to the CHAN boys. My question is who can they displace in the A-team? Osas, Udoh, Gabriel, Okpotu, Eze etc...

There is need for us to be real with ourselves and know that the era of quota system is far gone. No more automatic slots for home-based players. We are in a new era where even the established ones are not yet assured of making the list.

The competition is getting fierce with each passing day. No one is resting on their oars.

I'm not watching this though. But with what you've just posted. It seems Sir Humility is right by saying Okpotu will do better playing behind a striker.

Den if we re to go by ur words, echiejile might not go to Russia with did new development
Absolutely yes!

So many things is working against the man.
*Moving to a lower and less competitive league.
*So many competition in his role.
* His lack of versatility.
* his lack of pace. (most of the fullbacks option Rohr is recruiting this days are speed demons e.g Ebuehi, Idowu)
* Finally his age and ability.

The mahrez deal is off....

Man City made four bids today with the last being a bid of £65 million + a player but Leicester said NO! Lol

Mahrez stays to join Kelechi, Vardy, Okazaki, Diabate, Gray, Albrighton, and Barnes in that offensive dept to finish Leicester's season as possibly seventh behind the top 6. wink
I was hoping the deal pulls through.

Nacho needs to be patient his time will come.

To Echiejile's fans, ur boy has finally landed in the league that suits his talent, I wish him all the best in this new challenge but he should stop dreaming of Russia with the Eagles because there is no how a player in the Belgian Second Division (Cercle Brugge), a washed up player for that, will be considered for a place in our 23man squad. Team Echiejile grin
Some established Eagle's players are already been phased out gradually.

Great news, now Iheanacho should work harder and be more productive so as to cement his place permanently in the team. I really need him to make the fans feel the same way the invitees at the wedding Jesus did his first miracle felt when they were served the better wine.
hmmm...
Presently, Vardy and Okazaki are ahead of him in the pecking order.

The problem is: even if he displace Okazaki can he play alongside vardy. I don't see him displacing vardy(one of English Top striker) any moment son considering the fact that it's a world cup year and they'll want him to be in a top shape.

Leicester seems to always play a very different game anytime Vardy is on . They become less possessive of the ball which does not really suit Nacho and resort to huff and puff kind of set up huffing all the ball to vardy to chase.

One thing I only see changing the whole situation on ground is if Riyad Mahrez move to Man City materialise, the cult-like status the title winning side possess might be finally brought down and equity will be established with the influx of new signing.

Till then, Nacho should be contempted with the sub role.

Na una wey dey kuku expect heaven and Earth from these boys. I don talk my own since teytey.
Sir, no one is ever to old to learn. Okpotu and co cases won't be an exception.

These are simple football techniques. They can be taught and improved on.

We have seen cases where older players improve in certain aspect of their game. V. Moses is a winger turned wingback at 26. Mikel had poor shooting skills, even to the extent that he doesn't even dare to take one. But today he has improved.

Note: I am only calling for improvement and I'm sure that isn't much to ask for.

This is a good gesture to me and in the words of the media officer of the Eagles, "I have never worked with this crop of players in my life!"
this is commendable.

Sudan vs Nigeria

I hope Salisu Yusuf has fixed the wasteful Eagles. I didn't expect it to take him this long to find a solution to his misfiring squad.

He needs to borrow a leaf from Rohr. The german tactician in a very short time into his appointment employed shooting drills in training to correct and bring desired change in the A team.

We saw the improvement in players like Mikel, S. Moses, Iwobi, etc in subsequent matches after the Tazania match where we created as many as 23 chances but could only convert 1.

This shooting accuracy has seen the team become more clinical in front of goal going on to score 4goals out of a total of 5shots on target against Argentinal-this kind of improvement makes one happy and at the same time left one wandering on Salisu's inability to translate such thing into the CHAN team having spend more time with the local boys...

Well, tomorow isn't far away. The team needs to take their chances and bury the game as early as possible.

Wishing the boys a successful passage to the final.
