European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by ajadrage: 7:33pm On Nov 22, 2007
Make them no think say I be bad belle person sha, but I'm quite pleased that the Three Lions wouldn't be at the Euro championships. To be honest, their qualification campaign had been bereft of of a commitment and seriousness that should be associated with a national team that lays claim to having as it's own one of the best football leagues in the world.

Though I share this sentiment, but it's a pity that it's the foreigners in the premiership that gives it the quality that it has and too bad for the home boys who cannot raise their game to equal a team that the erthswhile coach had declared that it's players cannot earn a starting shirt had they been English.

Pride goes before a fall I presume, I sorry for Lampard and Gerrard and the other non performing big names yesterday well well, the way them head just dey hang after the game. I gues they must have to sit up now and buckle up. No be today we know say in football, name don't win games only commitment and determination. As for luck, England had all the luck in the world especially after saturday past. But it seems the clock wound up before them superstars could pluck some, and thus, England gets locked out of the European fiesta grin

Now person go tell me say if England no play Euro, it won't be the same. na lie, nobody go miss them meeen

TV/MoviesRe: Top 10 Movies Of All Time by ajadrage: 12:33am On Nov 22, 2007
Wow, there are so many good movies to choose from, and a top ten list would not do justice to the coterie of equally good movies out there. But if compelled to draw a ten movie list, I think this would be the first ten that would come to me:

LOTR (The trilogy including the yet to be released prequel, "The Hobbit"wink

Dances with wolves (This is Richard Gere as a naturalised native American that year)

Braveheart (Mel Gibson's best ever)

Star wars (All six episodes)

Sounds of music (Number one all time classic)

Alice in wonderland (Number two all time classic grin)

Godfather

Matrix (Trilogy including the animated Animatrix according to iice)

Pocahontas (Animated earlier production of "The new world"wink

Wizard of Oz (This film is sooo good, it's still receiving encomiums decades later a la a Hollywood star)

Terminator, Moses the law giver, Titanic, Gladiator, Superman etc all deserve a mention. (Onakpokpo an indigenous home video too, make I use style smuggle my own production enter this list, make una no diss me oh cool )

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Im Married But I Need A Male Friend by ajadrage: 8:29pm On Nov 19, 2007
First of all, no one has any right to crucify you ok, disregard all who have done such and endeavour to reason rationally. Your first statement was your identifying yourself to being an adherent of the teachings of Christ. Yeah, what do you think might have been his advice under such circumstances that you've found yourself? I doubt that even if he would be reccommending someone to confide in, he wouldn't be reccommending a replication of the David and Jonathan kind of relationship as first of all no member of that legendary friendship was a married woman looking for companionship outside the matrimonial home (na stone them for stone such to death).

The first thing you need to do is to bring a respected spiritual figure into the picture dear. A respected elder in church that's well respected by your spouse, and/or your pastor (if he's not one of the worldly ones) should also be brought into the picture. Fine, them no suppose bring third party into marital crisis, but believe me, this is exactly what those figures are there for.

I do not intend this to be a long speech, but you're an adult and just didn't walk into your matrimony, the both of you must have had a life that ultimately led to your decision to live the rest of your lives together, so it is my opinion that that life got lost somewhere sotaaay him don begin dey beat you. Something must've gone wrong somewhere. It is now your responsibility to reason out the particular point in your marriage where that incident occured and retrace your steps and make adjustments and modifications to accomodate the bliss that you dreamt of on your wedding day. This does not mean that you are to blame, but two people no fit dey craze at the same time, since hubby no dey conscious of the significance of his actions, you take the bull by the horn and do the right thing, many over the long hindsight of history has proven that one could actually stoop to conquer. You dey take him shit now, one day soon, na those bad people go dey eat una shit (you and your husband own combined) smiley

Nothing pass daddy Jehovah and him alone can rearrange your matrimonial home, but you gots to give him something to work with, but darling, looking for some guy that would provide a shoulder for your tears definitely ain't helpful tools. In time he could be offering something other than a shoulder, and with your emotional state of mind, I am afraid that that innocent handshake might exceed the elbow (if y'all know what I mean) grin. Now I do not think that's exactly what you had in mind while making this post.

Na trial you dey so, but know this girl, pressure makes diamonds much harder than stone. Take this as the pressure thats going to transform your stony relationship with hubby into one that's worth more than diamonds. And whatever you do, just try and be the real you and try not to be influenced negatively by what you're going through okay?

Ajadrage say no discourage, hold your courage, e go better. . .

NaJa HaJe:
@seun

I presume this AD is focused at naija based nairalandershuhhuh
Mmm, well, I would like to think that even foreign based nairaland members could play some sort of role here, that's depending on what Mr. Seun and his team has got in mind. But methinks that whatever the storyline/theme of this production could have as some sort of sub plot some of the scenes shot outside the shores of the country. It going to kind of give it an exotic and unique angle.

Those based outside Nigeria however could make some sacrifices as they would be relied upon to shoot their own scenes independently of the production here and send the video clips down for the producers to insert in the final production (This is assuming that the production might not be able to be on ground in say London or the US). The script writers here would have to be creative and ingenious to churn out applicable scenes for each interested foreign based member.

Just an idea anyway, but I bet it's going to be a wham of a hit to an appreciative viewership yearning for something quite different and refreshing from the stagnancy and repetitiveness of current television programmes of the sort available as of the now.

Yeah, just trying to share some camaraderie with the host of nairaland members in the diaspora, abi? cool

EducationRe: Uniben Aluminus (any)? by ajadrage: 1:36pm On Nov 19, 2007
Those of y'all that graduated prior to 2000/2001, if una see the alma mater now ehn, una no go believe. The school is looking like a real higher institution. No more okadas in the premises, well kept lawns, new buildings and a hall 5 (believe it or not). Right now the main gate is undergoing some rehabilitation which is gonna make it one coool wellcome to the school. There are banks everywhere, Intercontinental close to UDSS, the old NNB (now Unity bank still dey near Admissions and there's an Access branch in the old Alumni building just before the library (and there is also a new library complex too to complement the old one).

It's cool to know that the administration dey try small. Uniben is really living up to her "Great" status. I hail all you guys and girls that have trod the grounds, too bad didn't get to know you guys then meeen, belonged to the class of 2000 from Faculty.

Maybe I'll be there again soon grin
