Yeah, right. U know that the Bight of Benin is located within the Gulf of Guinea and has a neighbour in the Bight of Bonny which used to be called Bight of Biafra.

If u are an explorer and coming to trade in these parts, you will see from the map that the places that ur ship berths is in either of these two Bights. This is also true for other areas along the West African coast. The fact that this area is named after Benin does not presuppose the fact that it's trade was in benin or that Binis were the commodity of trade.

It is logical that for the slave traders to carry out their trade, they had to berth and the logical transit point due to it's geographic location and accessibility was the Bight of Benin.

I still maintain that no Edo born was sold into slavery and history proves me correct. Even documents and artefacts present in the National Museum in Benin attests to this fact and I offer to give u a grand tour whenever u're in da City. And yes I am proud of my heritage, but dat no mean say I should call a spade a shovel.

Christianity EtcRe: The Big Lie Of Contemporary Christianity by ajadrage(op): 1:24pm On Jun 12, 2007
mrpataki, need I say more. U are witnessing the belief that church cannot put in your mind as has been so elaborately spoken about by raydar, it is called a conscience .

Dear vigasimple, the church founded on Jesus Christ has since ceased to exist. Since the very first century when Paul identified those who claimed to be folowers of Christ but were proving false to his teaching, the original group of Christ believers have over the centuries thinned out and Constantine only made it official in Nicene over 1,400 years ago.

The big truth of contemporary religion is that religion is an endtime ploy that is used by satan to lure people away from salvation and we are advised to flee from her "Revelation 18:4"

To grab the full gist, please read the entire chapter 18, if you are open minded, the words will speak to you as you will see modern religion in all that is said.

Echidime, no Yar Adua nor anybody at that has promised any award, I am only making a statement of fact.

And ebeledi, I am sure of my facts, you seem not to be sure about your's. Why don't you do some little research on that and make yourself doubly sure.

The Calabars are also a very peaceful people, but I will rate Edo as just a notch above them on the "peaceful people scale" grin

Don't get me wrong, the language spoken by the Hebrews in Jesus's day was basically Aramaic and this was the language that Jesus used in his daily communication during his time on earth.

The Hebrew language was more or less extinct in Jesus's day and has only enjoyed a rennaiscance during the 20th century.

I never said that they are one and the same language
Christianity EtcRe: Do Aliens and Vampires Really Exist? by ajadrage: 9:25pm On Jun 10, 2007
Haba people, na wa for una oh, vampires and aliens. Hmmm, I wonder the kind of mentality when make us dey think like this. If u talk about witches, wizards etc. I no go argue much, but when u start talkin about vampires na serious malady of retardation dey work so, whoever post dis post and whoever answer in the positive.

Just one simple arithmetic fact, if all the vampires that had ever existed since around the early 10th century must feed, think of all the people they must have fed on and these bitten people go still turn vampire and dem go stll feed oh. aif for example, only one vampire existed in the 10th century, they would have to feed consistently for 365 days, at least 365 people will become vampires from just one person in a year.

These new vampires go indoctrinate the same number of people and they keep increasing geometrically. If it is true that they are immortal, then by this time everybody suppose don turn vampire na. Try do some small elementary calculations, it is mathematically impossible for vampires to exist aside from the fact that it is just a figment of medieval parents imagination to scare their kids and the modern day entertainment industry just latch on to am. We got our vampire stories too u know. How many of u remember "gbomo gbomo" grand moms used to scare us with?

There are intelligent people still in the world, let us be rational in our beliefs ok

For all of u, do u know that Joshua when translated means the same thing as Jesus. In fact, the name is actually Yehoshua and it means "salvation of Jehovah". So in other words, Joshua and Jesus are namesakes.

The Hebrew language spoken in the time of Jesus is what is known as Aramaic. This can be further understood in the Tetragrammaton which are the characters "YHWH". Most would want to pronounce this word as Yahweh and it is this same idea that brought about the calling of the Christ by the name Yeshua or Yehoshua. But if this characters are pronounced in the modern English language, it is transliterated to be the name Jehovah.

Thus, when Moses was communing with the Lord on mount Sinai, he must have heard the name Jehovah spoken as pronounced, but while putting it into writing, he wrote the characters "YHWH" and it is translated to mean "Causes to become", same thing that Jehovah means when translated, comprende?

Make una do una research well

Now for all of you who do not know, Edo people happen to be the most peaceful people known to have ever exist and still do if I might add in these parts. Aggressionn has never been our delight and we are a proud people.

But that no mean make una diss us or come desecrate this space for us as we are capable of the most debilitatingly devastating attacks when compelled to.

We don't take shit and if you're our friend and wanna be on this thread, y'all better keep it real. This no be Niger delta militancy nor is it Aguleri and Umuleri communal strife(no offence meant).

Y'all are wellcome here, but we wanna communicate not irritate ourselves, no hate here, just one love and peace, Edo style.

Edo babe na the babe and she is royalty according to the rich name "Iyi Eweka" she bears, so you puny people better recognise cos you're in the space where sovereignty and dignity flows in our blood naturally.

One fact for you all to ponder about: Do you know that in over 400 years of booming slave trade in the western coast of Africa, not one Edo born was sold into slavery?

Christianity EtcRe: The Big Lie Of Contemporary Christianity by ajadrage(op): 3:11pm On Jun 10, 2007
A very inconsequential arguement of lingua franca. What about some people who refer to jesus Christ as "Jesu Christi", or even say the Chinese who refer to the name as
"Ye1 su1 ji1 du1 ".

Howzat for some information

Dear Chycin, u in a dilemma allright, but u got to make this decision urself ok. Be honest and do some scale balancing. From where u stand right now, do u believe that u'll get a better deal off the shores of the country?

Theres pros and cons, but finally one gots to supercede the other. It is a great falsehood that u can't do ur masters in a foreign land as Nigerians have been known to do that in various countries, UK, US, France etc.

If u waitin for a job, all the best, but u kinda got an opportunity that millions are yearning for. The world is a global village and whatever u learn anywhere is for your own benefit, and maybe if it was meant to be, one day u'll have reason to come back and apply urself to the betterment of the nation.

But right now love, u gots to make a move and stop procrastinating. To jand or not to jand. Anyway, whatever u choose to do, be sure that it comes from the heart and not what someone tells u so u don't go blaming anybody for dissapointments that u could well handle had u made the decision on your own.

All the best girl, I go dey pray for u.

How does one describe manly, creamish, somthing of being macho or just the ability to live up to the kind of responsibilities that society thrusts on you as a man.

Some would describe manliness as the ability to dominate the woman in their lives while others would see it as a race to see the number of women that can be bedded at any given point in time.

I ain't tryin to be manly honey, just tryin to appreciate you. If u no like Lord of the stitch, howzabouts the official womanly title of the "Loom keeper" grin. Hope u like that.

Haba people, u guys shouldn't desecrate the hallowed grounds of nairaland. Never knew some two faced people go make two id's take dey whip up unneccessary sentiments for here.

Let us face the facts, these two young men are a testament to the very essence of which the new Nigeria is all about, our young people. My head dey burst say na here these two brothers come from, and whoever it is, so far the music dey make me swing my head and shake my waist, I go rock awwwaaayyy.

We get dem boku wey never come, but it's all to the glory of the talents that abound here in we Naija.

All those twoface people wey dey use two (possibly more) id's take dey do shit here, na una dey spoil these country for the rest of us, una hear. No be una mate d two of dem be? Una no dey shame, do something with urselves meeen, u ain't deceiving nobody ok.U got to face reality.

Una dey there, if u see whenever both of dem dey hang out together ehn, u wouldn't know if there is any beef between them, each recognise the other talent and they tell each other stuff meeen.

So abeg ehn, softly on the heat, y'all can give constructive critiques and criticisms on the technicalities of production and delivery, but don't do it from the gutters aaight
