Aregbesola is back into Lagos politics. I heard he is now a member of GAC (Governor's advisory council), an elite political body that decides the fate of politics in lagos. Ambode was against this move because he believes Aregbe shouldn't come in and meddle with Lagos state affairs. Note, Fashola and his two deputy governors are currently not a member of GAC. I expect Ambode won't be a member too after his tenure. It is also being rumored that Aregbe has also tried to take over the campaign structure of Sanwoolu and Hamzat. Men, Lagos politics is something else sha, and I enjoy the intrigues and drama. |
Personally, I feel Buhari will edge it. It won't be a landslide. Buhari has lost so many Lagos supporters of 2015. The person I pity is Sanwoolu because an Atiku win will make his own contest really difficult and I want he and Hamzat to win. I don't care if Buhari wins or loses the re-election, my interest is in the governorship election. |
matex97:Good question. Do you know the itinerary of the governor, whether he had other plans at that moment. Remember, Ambode missed APC campaign in Ondo state because he had more important issue to address back home which was the Lagos budget presentation. Therefore he couldn't have been every where or at every commissioning. Again, how many times have you seen Fashola and Ambode together commissioning a project in Lagos or would you claim you're unaware of the feud between them? This is not the first project Fashola has commissioned in Lagos and Ambode wasn't with him and no one raised an eyebrow. Fashola simply went to commission a project and asked the candidates of his party to tag along. Is there anything wrong there? Did you see the plaque of the commissioned project, was Sanwoolu's name written there as the person that commissioned it? You lots have no point. I won't comment further on this issue again. |
989900:I believe he should have resigned. It wasn't made official but here http://www.lsdpc.gov.ng/ceoprof.php shows a new person has taken over. |

googi:Fashola was not in support of Tinubu's choice of Ambode in 2015 because he believed Ambode was an outsider who wasnt part of the developmental programs and master plan of Lagos. But with Sanwoolu, Fashola has thrown his weight behind him because Sanwo and Hamzat (Fashola's right hand man) both worked under him and he can vouch for their competence. On this reason, I believe Sanwo/Hamzat combo issagoal for Lagos. |
the first dollar was devalued four years ago. Help!!! I don't understand this part of his statement though ![]() |

BabyApple:I started with w3schools back in 2011 when I began. I don't enjoy enjoy them again though I visit their How-To section from time to time. I've been able to map out a learning path that crisscrosses the building blocks of front end development and back end development and I hope to come out fully as a Full-stack Web developer by the end of the year. I've utilised allitebooks and downloaded all the necessary tutorials I'll need. I'm a big fan of Ebooks. Thanks bro.

gabbytabby:That Ambode was really vindictive. He took his grouse with Fashola to an unprecedented level to the extent of frustrating BRFs efforts in Lagos while trying to claim all the credits. I'm glad he was denied a second tenure. Such an attitude is unhealthy for a progressive state like Lagos especially when they're in the same party. |
Sheggy13:Ambode is not being sidelined. Where were you when Ambode and Sanwo-olu both commissioned the Lagos Health Insurance Scheme and some other similar projects in Lagos? Where were you when Ambode took Sanwoolu to some Lagos private club events and assured their members Sanwoolu will continue from where he stopped? Some of you just prefer to make noise over nothing. There's no big deal or no reason to fuss over what is being done here. The APC as a party in Lagos is simply preparing the groundwork and get Sanwoolu familiarised with things on ground, so that he can have a smooth takeover when elected. Every party has it's ideology and that is Lagos APC's way of going about things using their power of incumbency to their advantage. Ambode and sanwoolu are also in good terms, it's you guys that have chosen to fan the flames of quarrels when there is none. |
Isnt that Ogige market I'm seeing ![]() |
I dont understand why you folks are complaining that Sanwo-olu went with Fashola to commission a project. It seems most of you guys started following Lagos politics post-2015 elections. When it was Ambode's turn, he also followed Fashola to ceremonies and accompanied Fashola to commission some projects. That is APC's succession plan idea which I can understand is alien to most people. That's why Lagos still leads. Eko o ni baje o |
BabyApple:Yea, I know and I'm beefing up my knowledge on the front end stack this year. It's quite difficult being a full-stack. My focus has been on Python/Django/Postgresql (backend) over the past few years. |
Holuseye:A semester is between 4-5 months |
BabyApple:I'm lazy in that area. I rely heavily on BS, jquery snippets and themeforest templates. |
BabyApple:Same with me. Focused on Web devt tutorials. |
They haven't even finished their second semester UNN I dey wait u na o |
lekonso:Fashola never promised you he'll deliver power in 6 months. Please be informed. |
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is the “most competent” to govern the state among the candidates jostling for the Lagos top seat, the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has said. Fashola described Sanwo-Olu as “a leader with a national outlook”, vouching for the fitness of the APC candidate to lead the state. The minister spoke at an event where a coalition of 53 political parties adopted the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari and Sanwo-Olu as their presidential and governorship candidates. The event was held in Surulere. The coalition, under the banner of Coalition of Political Parties in Lagos State (COPPILS), said the endorsement of the APC candidates was based on the achievements of the party in the last three years. “I am in a vantage position to tell Lagosians about the readiness of Babajide Sanwo-Olu to govern our state. He served under me as a commissioner and I can attest to his competence. He is a man with a Midas touch and has national outlook. He delivered on task given to him and I have no doubt he will deliver if he is charge. He is positioned to lead and he is ever ready to lead. I know he is prepared for this job and he will deliver.” Hailing the decision of the parties to support President Buhari’s re-election bid, Fashola said Lagos residents had no choice than to return APC to power. He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in its 16 years dominance at the centre, left infrastructure in the state to rot, pointing out that the opposition party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had no plan for the country. Fashola described the PDP presidential candidate’s policy paper as “strategy of lies”, saying Atiku’s plan is impracticable. He said Buhari’s investment in infrastructural renewal was unprecedented, adding that the “Next Level” slogan of the APC was strategically coined in preparation for the projected job creation and economic upswing that would come as dividends of Buhari’s investment in infrastructure. Sanwo-Olu said Buhari’s achievements in four years could not be compared to PDP’s 16 years in power, saying the APC-led Federal Government had initiated and completed 143 road projects across the nation since 2015. He said Buhari’s victory at the general election must be collective responsibility. Director of Publicity of the coalition, Mallam Shakirudeen Olofin, said the 53 parties had directed their members to work with the APC to deliver Lagos to Buhari, noting that they took the decision to support the APC presidential candidate because of the infrastructure projects of Buhari administration in the Southwest. According to a communiqué issued by the coalition and signed by its convener, Hon. Akinola Obadia, the APC-led Federal Government had sited more projects in Lagos to consolidate the status of the state as the fastest growing economy in Africa. The coalition said the strides must be sustained for sustainable development. The communiqué read: “Based on the numerous achievements of President Buhari in the last three and half years, which include reduction in $5 million importation spending, infrastructure projects on Lagos-Ibadan axis and the flag of Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonsoki-Ojota Expressway, the coalition hereby endorses the candidacy of President Buhari.” The event was witnessed by the Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN, APC’s National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogala, and lawmaker representing Lagos East in the Senate, Gbenga Ashafa, among others. http://daylight.ng/sanwo-olu-is-the-best-for-lagos-fashola/

braveboi4life:I don't think so. They both worked under Fashola so I see them copying Fasholas template by focusing on governance and leaving Tinubu and the political elites to handle the political affairs of Lagos. They can't afford to dabble into politics. Lagos will lose again like we almost did under Ambode. |
Holargyde:Wow, thanks so much for this sir. It's refreshing that there are now debates for House of reps candidates in Lagos. Though I have a soft spot for Banky to win even though I am supporting Sanwoolu, but anyway may the best man win. |
IjebuWarrior:I'd love to watch this debate. Could you help with a replay video sir? |
