Politics › Re: The 2nd Video Of Governor Ganduje Receiving Bribe Released By Daily Nigerian by ajl: 3:04pm On Oct 15, 2018
It always puzzle me what an old man will do with all these stolen funds. Are they stealing for their children? I have very well known Nigerian lawyer who is Lagos based and have a habit of cornering his clients properties. He is in the age group of my dad, in his mind to late 80s. He doesn't practice anymore because he is now partially blind. One of his sons is also a lawyer and stands in at his firm. In the eyes of Nigerians and mostly Lagosians, he is a man of honour. He has received multiple honours.

What he did was to smuggle the name of his children into the will of my dad elder sister. The woman had no child and she raised us. She was also not educated. We are aware he requested to use one of her landed property and he never returned it. He doesn't know we know about this because mama used to allow some people farm on the land and they always bring a lot of corn after harvest. Aside this he inserted the name of his children into the will as beneficiaries. The most amazing part was the only witness listed in the will was his personal driver who I learnt has pass away. In his eyes he is getting away with because the only person who could challenge is my dad but he was kidnapped in his neighbourhood many years ago. Now it's getting who was behind it. Funny we have a video of my great aunt saying the man has been taking care of and non of her properties is going to him. She was even calling him names. We are aware he used to starve her of funds from her properties rent and certain family members had to call him out.

So, Govenor Ganduje is apparently stealing for his children and grandchildren sake.

I know a very popular hotel in vi. Most clients have stopped patronizing the hotel because high class prostitutes will come in and buy a drink or two and then spend the rest of the day luring men and harrassing men. Its so bad that sometimes these girls will raise money to book a room and once in, they will be offering themselves to any man they see at the corridor, bar, elevator, pool side etc. Sadly, the men find it embarrassing.
So most hotels try to curtail this by at least ensuring that the women there on a date with a man won't be such.
Without a proof it is still illegal to deny her use of room in hotel. Based on what you stated, it would be possible to get cctv footage of any olosho girl luring men in an hotel and then use that as a basis to deny only those captured on the tape. Not every ladies that turn up there. When Chinese hotels in a particular region of China denied all Africans use of the hotels because of few African-origin fraudsters, Nigerians were everywhere condemning China.

This is an interesting subject for me and I have a question for lawyers on board.

In the US we as business owners have the right to refuse service to anyone except:

“The entire United States is covered by the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination by privately owned places of public accommodation on the basis of race, color, religion or national origin. Places of “public accommodation” include hotels, restaurants, theaters, banks, health clubs and stores. ”

Is there something similar in Nigeria’s constitution?

Thanks.
The Act you put up there is incomplete. Where is "Gender" in the Act?

These guys are the real shadow government behind all the misfortunes that have befallen our nation yet they pretend to be friends.
Great point. See why these old politicians don't have a mind of their own. Tell me why an Afican leader would be seeking support of a British religious leader for a Nigerian election. African Action Congress is the only party that can get us away from the pangs of these colonialists. Atiku cannot run this country without first thinking whether his policies would please the British government.
Politics › Re: Atiku Meets The Archbishop Of Canterbury, Justin Welby (photo) by ajl: 2:02pm On Oct 14, 2018
You see these old politicians, they don't have a clue. Still paying homage to previous circle of colonial oppressors. Someone should tell me if this bishop would be voting in Feb 2019 or if members of his church will be voting. Nigerians, these crop of people can take you anywhere but back to the feets of your previous colonial masters. Forever you would be at their mercy. Sowore's African Action Congress don't play this kind of politics. The party is here to liberate Nigeria and Africa from colonialists control, starting with Nigeria being pulled out of the Commonwealth. Na who Commonwealth help?

Too many Nigerians abroad are involved in drug deals. I don't blame them though, majority think foreign countries have their streets plated with gold and free money grow on trees for everyone. When they get there and see for themselves that the stereotype isn't true, they get overwhelmed by the so-called "shame" of coming home empty handed and go into crime.

Dear Nigerians, the abroad is not a magic way out of poverty.
The relative population of Nigerians involved in drug abroad is just a minute fraction of the total population.. Those who earn a living legitimately far outnumber the bad eggs. I have firsthand experience. It is the greed and unrealistic passion for material things. It is a general Nigerian problem even back home. Most Nigerians don't understand how money work within a society. Because you steal billions and put in a bank does not make you wealthy and neither if you carry all the drugs in the world. It's not sustainable and the story can't change any moment. I really don't know how people reason, you are less likely to be a billionaire pursuing a legitimate aspiration than attempting to become a billionaire by doing drug. How many people can you sell drug to? And the risk of getting jailed, getting killed or maimed by enemies or when a deal go sour is too high. The reward could be quick but it's not worth the risk. People who get involve in it surely do not have the capacity to reason logically.

Who is a professor? Professor in the 21st century without a PhD!! Only in Nigeria!!!!
Please consult an online dictionary. It's free. This is what one states:

Definition of professor. 1 : one that professes, avows, or declares. 2a : a faculty member of the highest academic rank at an institution of higher education. b : a teacher at a university, college, or sometimes secondary school.

That Premium Times story is not solid enough. Apparently they don't understand English. There is a difference between first class performance and a first class result.

So what criteria define readiness?
I got the point clearly after reading the story. The caption is a bit misleading. It's like someone saying aspirants like Sowore to Moghalu are not ready to be President of Nigeria, instead it's a statement from Sowore saying Moghalu is not ready to preside since Moghalu does not yet have an idea of what an ideal minimum wage should be claiming he still need to research after coming in.

This agree with my point that Moghalu can't be different from these old schools because he paid homage to Babangida to intimate him of his aspiration. How can someone who claim to have worked for UN and a former deputy governor of CBN be acting as if he is not aware of useful monetary data to come up.with an appropriate minimum wage.

Nice response. Some people don't have a clue what's going on around them. I've learn that many of the stories in typical Yoruba movies are usually drawn from real life experience.

What kind of judge is this? N5,000 for what. Did the judge had an idea of the husband income before awarding the wife N5k monthly upkeep for the child.

The husband has a lot to answer with respect to his ex-wife predicaments if she was telling the truth.

Container trucks and tankers wan finish people children along Apapa/Oshodi expressway and Lagos/Badagry expressway

A nice one from the government
No matter what, tankers and trailers will always be on the road. Even in advanced economies you see high numbers of them on the road even though the rail system are developed. Of course, the relative number of those on the road will drop. The trailer/tanker road transport industry provides jobs in the tens of thousands, from drivers to mechanics and spare parts dealers. It's needed. From my window I can see the 2450 km highway-10 that run from Texas to California. On a daily basis, I see endless numbers of trucks loaded with diverse products including petroleum products. What Nigeria need is better road system and a sense of order.

Nigerians in diaspora should return, unless you have something really great going on there.
They need to come home and develop their country.
For example, there's this fantastic one plot now for sale at Opebi with a C of O, at a give away price of 55m. A 'Diasporan' can offer to buy that, build something cosy and enjoy being at home with 8,033,540,956 other Nigerians. wink

The question is on what criteria? Nigeria is more about big man mentality. Big men for nothing who are adding no values to the country. Rather, they are staking from it. Who has the best ideas on how to move this country forward. Who has the capacity to think through issues and nearly perfect sense of judgement. Who has good understanding of the global perspective of Nigeria or Africa.
