CareerRe: Cooking For My Married Boss: Right Or Wrong by ajl: 3:14pm On Apr 10, 2022
Maychang:
OP Please listen to me closely

There some things God expects of you.

1. Make a move when you need to: because he will not come down from heaven to carry you.

2. Take calculated risk: don't gamble with your life.

3. Do not put your trust in Man. You barely know him.

4. You are your number one priority.

The mistake you made is agreeing to do the cooking in the first place. You should have told him from the onset, that you don't feel comfortable doing that. (Was that even in your appointment letter or verbal agreement?) why didn't he hire a cook?

The danger in what you are doing is putting yourself at risk. Please you do not know who he is. Do not be carried away by "he is fasting".There are wolves in sheep clothing.

Very soon, he will begin to entice you with little tips and gifts here and there to take away your fears and gradually, he will get what he wants.

My advice to you (as I think you are not a wayward girl) is:

1. Tell him you no longer want to cook for him at his house. The best you can do is cook at your place and bring to the office for him.

If he asks why the sudden change, tell him you talked about it to your mum and she didn't like the idea and insists that you stop. That you do not disobey her as she has guided you all your life and you don't regret it.

If he plays the Mummy's girl card on you. Tell him you are proud of it.

Be bold, you are his staff and not his slave. Don't let him turn you into a sexual slave.

2. If he decides to sack you because of that, my dear... please run as fast as your legs can carry you. Other doors will open. Humans are always scared of the unknown (there will always be a way)

I will not speak further on this.... as I know many men out here will not agree with me.

A stitch in time, saves Nine
Best advice so far. Girl, listen to this if you really love yourself.

Thank you ma..... That's what I've been thinking too.... There are still good people. But seriously ma I'm always scared whenever I'm at the house... Even right now I've opened the whole door incase I need to escape any danger. I'm sitting outside the veranda with a kitchen knife beside me... Because I don't want my story to end as raped then strangled
If you are this scared of possible danger to the point of possibility of using a kitchen knife to protect yourself, I will advise to quit the job or first take a diplomatic approach by telling your boss you are not too comfortable going to his house to cook for him. And wait to see his reaction. You are still in control of things now, take the right and sensible action before you find yourself where you do not have any control over what could happen.

Of course my instincts are against the whole thing, that's why I want people's opinion. And also a way to stop the whole cooking thing without losing the job.
It's like a scene from a Nollywood movie. Normally, a boss shouldn't take advantage of a female employee and turn her to househelp. In an ideal world, I will tell you to quit the job, which is exactly what I will advise if you were my sister. Only go through with this if you are 100% sure this won't end in his bedroom because it usually does. Except if it's something you are in on as well and won't mind to be his mistress.

It wasn’t meant as an insult. You just took it as one.

Like they say the truth is bitter.

I thank God you are not young and by God’s grace you would live many more years in health and wealth. But till now you have never gifted anybody in the world 600k, why call it paltry.

It is the issue that is being discussed, the surrogate mother should show gratitude especially when people do things, that nobody else in the entire world would do for them.
Why can't they go and purchase babies in the market with that N600k if it's that easy. If there is an agreement, they have to keep to it. The couple should stop acting like bunch of criminals. They act like couples who in the past brought a teenage girl over to America and turned such to housegirl, depriving her of freedom, even though they had promised her education and other things before leaving Nigeria. Evil minded individuals.

He is both Ijaw and Yoruba. Except you are a fake yoruba too because you ought to know the history of your people. If there are large group of people with Yoruba ancestory in Ghana, Serria Leone, Benin Republic, Ivory Coast, then why not those in those claiming Ijaw. He is from a town in Ondo, and this town is a blend of cultures of the Yoruba and Ijaw people being that it's located at the geographical boundary of Yorubaland and Ijaw-land.

Mister, where in the world do you complete a PhD in 3 years? Just curious because even in foreign universities, on average it take 4 years and above. And I know that in Nigeria with all the chaos in the system, it often take much longer. What course or program was this?
PoliticsRe: Train Ticket Racketeering Is How Corruption Kills - Daily Trust Editorial by ajl: 1:47pm On Apr 10, 2022
No matter how deep a corrupt system is, if the government or entity behind the project is sincere and ready to solve the problem, there is enough technology to minimize corruption. The problem is that those who are supposed to provide solution to the problem are also largely behind the problem. Finger points to NRC officials.

Don't be surprised if Nigerians used their hands elect another leader worse than this. Compare the following leaders below. Doesn't it show them from fair to worse

-Olusegun Obasanjao (1999-2007)
-Umaru Musa Yar'dua (1997-2010)
-Goodluck Jonathan (2010-2015)
-Mohammed Buhari (2015 - current)

Yar'dua wasn't really a terrible individual but it was during g his time that canals started taking over government, and his ill health caused Nigeria a lot of pain.

Foreign AffairsRe: Pentagon Releases Secret Documents About UFO Programme (Pics) by ajl: 2:29pm On Apr 06, 2022
I live in Texas, and I once saw such objects in the sky. There were three of them. The way the objects emerged with very bright light on a slightly cloudy night with irregular shape was surreal. Not usual shape of UFO am used to seeing on TV. I immediately made a sketch of what I saw once I had the chance to stop the vehicle. I see am with my "Koro koro" eyes. But they were really far in the sky. I wished I wasn't driving as I would have make a video. Luckily I wasn't the only one in the vehicle and the other individual saw what I saw too but it all happened in an instance. Both of us were just amazed.. I got home and told my kids and till this day, they think it's untrue. Imagine the feeling when you tell people what you see with your own eyes and the look on their faces had that "he just making this up" expression.

TravelRe: Truck Falls Off Ojuelegba Bridge. by ajl: 2:37pm On Apr 03, 2022
There is a reason why Ojuelegba is a place of commotion and counter commotion. I am sure most Yoruba here do not even know the meaning or history of Ojuelegba. The full name is Oju Elegbara. Elegbara is one of the other names of Esu, the yoruba deity for justice and carrier of divine authority (Ase) to Olodumare (God). Point of note, Esu is not Satan, just that he has dual nature and can use that to teach or discipline humans if they do good or bad. He help humans look in the mirror to see and reflect on their "poor" self. Anyway, full meaning of Oju-Elegba is "centre of Elegba", which mean that an Esu shrine was located there back in the days. I even heard the Oni of Ife say that in a video on YouTube. And a final note. Yoruba indigenous spirituality is not evil. It's some Yorubas who are evil that choosed to use the knowledge for evil purpose. I am not saying that the cause of the accident is tied to the history of the place. But I know that Ojuelegba is what it is today because of its history. That's why Esu is christened as "Onile Orita", meaning "he that reside at point of intersection". Esu is the one that "whisper" in your ear at critical decision points in life.

Sorry to disappoint you but that was then, not anymore.
A lot of women are detaching from that useless African culture and believing they can be anything they want to be without being married. A lot women are no longer marriage freaks like before, you can work and have sources of income, you can get married IF YOU WANT TO and IF YOU DON’T WANT TO, you can move on with other great things in life like adopting a child or going for IVF and live happily ever after!!!
I got your point. But to raise a child to be a well balanced adult mentally and character wise require a mother and father. I mean responsible parents.
FamilyRe: Is Cheating Enough Reason To Leave A Legal Marriage ? by ajl: 2:13pm On Apr 03, 2022
See what some boys are typing here. It's like women are not human beings in Nigeria. I understand that the role and circumstances of man and woman differ in a marriage. But to say a man can leave a marriage but a woman can't because of infidelity suggest that most Nigerian men don't see their women as a partner but a subjugate. That's why the crazy men dominated parliaments make senseless laws that put women down.
FamilyRe: Should I Allow My Mum To Visit Us by ajl: 2:05pm On Apr 03, 2022
Be careful around her. Don't even give her the chance to "mark" your kids and use them to hurt you and your wife. She knows the power your wife over you are in the kids she bore for you. Sorry to say, some mothers can be harmful even to their own children especially if such child is not yielding to their wish.

Having armed escorts physically on the trains is a more realistic option
For now our rails should be used to carry goods only i.e container shipments and forget about carrying people.
Not effective. I am not sure you understand purpose of the equipment they are talking about. Having armed security guards on trains will not solve the problem if terrorists go under the cover of the night to plant bombs along traintracks. I think that's what they did to the drain before shooting down some survivors.

We are actually saying the same thing.

You are hypocritically and delusionally more concerned about killings and terrorism in other parts of Nigeria, but never concerned about the terrorist killings and barbarity going on as we speak in your own SE towns and villages.

When your own ibo terrorists burn down business, beat and kill your own market mothers and fathers because they did not sit at home, When you slaughter and roast your own fellow ibo people to eat, expired what do you say?

Well, o know you don't say alahu akbar because you are babalawo juju ipobs. .
Are you crazy? What concern Babalawo with IPOB issue? Do you even know the meaning of that word. Babalawo are yoruba's IFA priests that compulsory took do-no-evil oath. Most people including Yorubas mistake ordinarytraditional medicine men (called Onisegun) for Babalawo because some of the medicine men have some knowledge of IFA. And if you know what IFA is, you will ask Olodumare for forgiveness, like most deluded Yorubas should. I will say no more because if I continue, it may not make sense to you as most of you are disconnected from reality. IFA is a body of knowledge handed down to the wrong group of people, the Yorubas. No serious people will be custodian of such deep knowledge and be in such sorry state with slave mentality.

The states insecurity was this terrible before Buhari became the president were in the North East.

Like play like play, under the retired General, Terrorists are not just operating in the North East alone, they also operate in the North West.

In a sane country, if Buhari fails to resign, he will be impeach.

I doubt Buhari can last long as a president in South Africa and Egpyt or even Kenya sef.
Even if lawmakers from the south attempt to impeach him, lawmakers from the north, who are more in number will block the impeachment for obvious reasons. It doesn't matter to them if half of Nigeria's population is exterminated by terrorists. They are religious and ethnic bigots.

It's on record that Buhari voted for a Republic of Chad candidate against a Nigerian candidate in the 80s when he was head of state, for an international position at the OAU thar the Nigerian candidate was vying for. Most likely the Chad candidate was fulani, and obviously the Nigerian candidate was a southerner.
